I usually come here to pick up cakes for special occasion. They're mostly Asian inspired flavours and i like how it's not too sweet. Their macarons are also really good. Service is always great.

What I had: macaron box (9 pcs) $35 Taste: 5/5 The decoration of the macaron was irresistibly cute. There was a good variety of flavours for you to choose from, like pistachio, ovaltine, hong kong milk tea, black sesame and more. None of them were disappointing. Vibe: 4/5 I didn't dine in but it looked nice and spacious from the cashier. Service: 4/5 The staff were polite and efficient.

I love the cakes from daan go! Ordering online is so easy and seamless, and everyone is so nice there! I called the store because I forgot to add a happy birthday sign and they gladly added it to my order for me. They've downsized their location but there are a few seats inside. I've tried a few of their cakes, every one of them are delicious!

Received some adorable animal macarons in Asian inspired flavours. The owner of Daan Go is Christopher, the winner of MasterChef Canada - how cool! There are multiple locations throughout Toronto and GTA so picking up these cute desserts are easy and accessible. I was gifted a set of macarons which tasted great and looked even better. The animals i received were: - Panda (roasted milk tea) 5/5 - Koala (Vietnamese coffee) 4/5 - Cow (Hong Kong milk tea) 5/5 Overall the macaron flavours and taste were impeccable and these make the perfect snack/ gift for any occasion.

Super cute macarons were too hard to pass. $3.50 each was reasonable but the flavors are artificial. The cookies part had the perfect texture, but the cream was artifical. My kids had fun eating these but I won't get them again.

It has been two years since my last review, and a lot has changed. Kudos to Christopher, the owner on winning MasterChef Canada. A little Yelp bio update on the horizon? The Gold Thorn (Durian) cake was such a hit with my mom that we recently got it for another family member's birthday. I can't believe they improved it. Last time, if I remember correctly, was more of a nod of Durian flavours. They aren't shy about it this time around. There are even layers of pure Durian inside the cake. If you're a Durian lover, you'll appreciate the stronger Durian flavour. About three months ago, they also moved out of the Kensington Market location to slightly south of Spadina and Dundas. The shop is larger. I appreciate that they have all their signature cakes in store without the requirement of preordering. The staff told us the Gold Thorn cake would require 2hrs~ to thaw out, which is perfect timing for us. They didn't offer/ask us if we needed happy birthday messaging on the cake, so we had to make do with an old HBD cake topper we had at home. I wish the staff had reminded us about it. Candles, if needed, are $2. Check out my past photos/review of the cake uncut.

Pro-tip: The macarons are buttercream filled, so if you're not a fan of that type, skip on the macarons. Highlights: Lots of variety in their desserts and macarons and almost all of the flavor profiles really enticed me. I thought the desserts were going to be overhyped and mostly mousse so I was pleasantly surprised to find cake and other textures in the dessert making the price a bit more justified. I would return to try other desserts. Lowlights: The desserts definitely look better in the displays and it's not very sustainable that the desserts are just in plastic containers that are thrown away afterward. I was disappointed the macarons had buttercream filling since I prefer ganaches.

    Luckee signature cake

I treated myself to the Luckee Signature Cake for my birthday to share with friends and also picked up a six pack of macarons and a Mr. Carrotail and Tira-Meow-Su. I was visiting Toronto from the States so I wanted to try a bunch of things on this trip. The cake was SO GOOD. The outer shell was chocolate and beautifully crafted. The detail is just amazing. The cake inside is vanilla with yuzu and blueberry and the yuzu flavor was so well balanced. We absolutely loved it! The smaller pastries are adorable. The carrot cake in Mr. Carrotail was delicious and I'm not even usually a carrot cake fan. The Tira-Meow-Su was definitely good, but the best part of it is the cute design. The cake itself was good but a standard tiramisu. The outer cup is edible too, made of chocolate. I absolutely loved everything I got and highly recommend this place! They have less expensive items too, like cookies and individual macarons, if you just want to try a small treat, or even bigger Signature and Celebration cakes. The quality is excellent and well worth the money. Last thing -- I recommend ordering online ahead of your event. I'm glad I did, as the Luckee cake is now sold out and even though they have the smaller items in a display, if you want a certain item order ahead to guarantee it'll be available.

Friend traveled to Toronto and brought back the cutest macarons! For being ~24 hrs old without a fridge, they lasted pretty well and were still super yummy and flavorful! Love the creativity of the selection and can't wait to visit myself one day :)

Black sesame ice cream is top notch! Reminds me of cold and creamy ji mah woo (sesame paste sweet soup)! Cakes were not overly sweet and definitely gets an A+ for design concept. Service was fast and there was a nice seating area in the store.

My friend bought 6 slices of their cakes, so I can only speak about the food aspect of this place. The cakes were very unique, adorable (especially the rabbit shaped one!) AND tasted great! We ordered 6 kinds. I don't quite know the names but I they were all VERY good. My friends loved the 315 (it has a a strong tea flavour), while I loved the chocolate one (the passion fruit was a LITTLE overpowering) and the peach one. They have a lot of different desserts as well of all kinds of shapes and sizes. I sometimes worry that a food place might focus too much on the aesthetics rather than the food tasting good, but I can assure you that it looks good AND tastes great!

Flavorful. I ordered the full range of flavors. It was 18. I was delighted how they packed so much flavor in each bite. I really enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee, hong Kong style milk tea, earl grey. To be honest there wasn't any that I would be discouraged to get again. I believe they were 3.75 each but if you bought more it averages around 3.66 each. Cute for any occasions.

Daan Go Ratings: 4.3/5 Food: 4.75/5 - I heard the chef of Daan Go, Christopher was the winning of MasterChef Canda, so I have to try it out plus the desserts all look so freaking cute. I took my boyfriend with me to Daan Go and together we devoured 4 of their signature items. Please see the descriptions of all the treats we got below for more details. - Peach Garden [GET]: My favorite item here. So many layers of deliciousness, and everything just works perfectly with each other. The osmanthus jelly and white peach gelee was amazing, something you'd only expect in a boba drink. I like how it was not too sweet. The yellow peach mousse and peach jam both has a strong peach flavor and floral notes of white peach. Top quality and doesn't taste artificial at all. The crunchy almond base was interesting too, never seen anything like that on an Asian dessert, but added a nice texture to the cake. Lastly, the edible roses were a fantastic touch to the cake, another different note of flavor. - Tira-Meow-Su [GET]: I love a good tiramisu cake, and I like this just equally as the peach cake, maybe more. I love mascarpone cream and creme legere, because of the fluffy, light and smooth texture. I can't resist that. It is layered into an edible chocolate cup with vanilla chiffon cake soaked with Vietnamese coffee, strong and perfectly soaked with the right amount of coffee. It was not too sweet or bitter. You can eat the edible chocolate cup at the end, and probably made from dark chocolate, which I am a big fan of. The marshmallow cat on top is fluffy and literally melts in your mouth. - Mr. Carrotail [GET]: I got this because it was so cute, and I couldn't resits it. I never had a carrot cake before, so I thought it's a good time to try it. The outer layer of Mr. Carrotail is made of cream cheese mousse combined with dulce de leche cream. It was delicate with a light texture. The carrot cake itself was moist and delicious, definitely that best part of the cake! The base consists of chocolate walnut crunch. I love the crunch, tasted like the Asian almond cooked from supermarkets, but unfortunately the dessert was too sweet and heavy for me. I cannot finish the whole thing by myself for sure. - Pandan Macarons [SKIP]: Too hard to pass on these, because they are so cute, so we got one to try. The texture was wonderful, tasted fresh, soft with a nice outer shell, and not stale. However, the fillings are buttercream, so if you do not like that, then I'd say skip on the macarons. They are too sweet for me. They can be a good gift for any occasions. Ambiance: 4/5 - Located near Chinatown, south of Spadina and Dundas. Walking in, the location looks huge, dimly lit, and cute. I later realized that it was connected to a restaurant in the back, so really Daan Go only has the front part of the store. There's a couple of bar stools near the windows, and that's where we sit, because I wanted to enjoy the desserts right away. The space isn't too big, but good enough to taste the dessert, since it wasn't too busy or pack when we are there. Price: 4/5 - The prices are what you would expect for some fancy and delicate dessert shops. The four things we ordered came up to be $30 after taxes. The peach garden was $7.25, tira-meow-su was $8.50, mr. carrotail is $8.50, and finally the macaron is $3.75. It's delicious, so it's worth it. Service: 4.25/5 - We ordered online via the app for a $10 off promotion they have going on, but pick-up was not available until the next day. The staffs are nice and told us to order it, and they will give the desserts to us for dine-in anyways. They are so nice and considerate, so we definitely appreciate that! BLUF: Cute, adorable, and innovative Asian desserts and pastries at Daan Go. They are all very delicious and you can tell the amount of time and details they put into their pastry. I love the Asian inspired flavors and interesting twist they put in it. We would recommend the peach garden cake and the tiramisu, wonderful flavors and texture. If you like sweet treats, give the macarons a try as well, especially the pandan one. I would return to try other cakes slices and the tiramisu again!

You can't go wrong with any of their premium flavours. Each one of them is tuned to perfection, with an emphasis on Asian flavours. I always feel like a kid in a candy store here. Perhaps it's because of the colourful display from the moment you step inside, or the seemingly endless list of flavours on the wall staring back at you, or maybe it's because the moment you swing open the door, a friendly storeowner readily appears at your service? Hm... what will I have today? Pro tip: as the store owner would tell you, wait a few min for the ice cream sandwich to thaw before biting in. About 5 min is good and enough time to take Yelp pics. The only unfortunate thing for me is that they're downtown and I'm uptown! Regardless, I always make an effort to drop by whenever I can. Their opening hours are not too friendly though... But I guess you can say that adds to their appeal. This little shop could really use more publicity. I believe we have to get more people eating macaron ice cream sandwiches this summer. This patisserie in the path is such a quiet place that barely has customers every time I've walked by ...now I know why. There was only one person when I stopped by, popped in to grab a quick little treat for a coworker's birthday. The one girl working didn't acknowledge me at all until she had no other choice, not a simple "I'll be with you in a second" or even a glance/nod over. Vibes were very off. Also she was the slowest mover I've ever seen, it felt like all her movements were in slow-mo from wrapping, packaging the processing payment. I've literally never seen a human worker move at that pace. Even after the other customer wrapped up and left it took her at least another minute before looking up at me. When I picked my item, again... she was moving at a pace where natural selection would've definitely taken her out. Not sure what was going on but it was weird. The air was stiff as there wasn't any customer service, kindness or even welcoming in the store. And the audacity of the machine to ask for a tip???? For what? Packing up a pastry at a snails pace? Tipping culture has really gotten out of hand.
