    Mango chestnut cake
    Angela F.

We've been coming back to this bakery for the swiss rolls and napoleon cake for years! This time around we called in to order a mango chestnut cake for my dad's birthday. On short notice, the cake was ready for pickup in just a couple hours. I was skeptical about the mango chestnut combination at first so I was surprised with how tasty it was! The mango was a bit sour as expected since the fruit is not in season, but it was covered in some kind of syrup so the outer layer tasted sweet. It was a great contrast to the sweet chestnut frosting. A yummy cake if you are a fan of fruity and nutty flavours! Great price for the quality as well. Try this bakery if you're in the area!

I always insist on stopping here every time we come to Markham/Toronto! They have the best Chinese bakery I've had. My go to bakery in the area used to be Dong Dong, but they've gone downhill in terms of taste and quality of ingredients. At this place, my two favorites are the curry beef buns and the pineapple bun with coconut filling. They are generous with the curry beef filling and it is very flavorful. The curry has just the right amount of heat to it. They are also generous with the coconut filling. It tastes sweet, buttery, and delicious. I've also gotten other buns from here like ham & cheese and coconut buttercream. Everything is amazing! It is pricier than other bakeries in the area, but it is totally worth the extra cost.

When I'm in the area, I try to stop by this great Asian bakery which has a vast selection of baked goods! It's right next to the food court and a few stores away from Grandeur Palace, which is popular for dimsum. I've tried a few things from here like the tasty coconut filled pineapple topping bun, Hong Kong style egg tarts with their subtly sweet creamy custard goodness, taro filled bun, bun with hot dog pieces and the ham and cheese filled bun that has bacon pieces and green onion on top. All of these tasted great and the prices are even better. If I remember right, most buns are under $2! Because of the great selection, it's so easy to spend at least $10+ when coming here. I would say that the only disappointment is that this bakery is popular and you need to come earlier in the day to get what you want. Good luck getting baked goods from here after the dimsum rush on weekends! Definitely worth trying if you haven't been here!

3.5 Star Aromaz is a Chinese bakery located right beside the food court of Chartwell Mall. Here you won't find the best deal $1 for 3 buns? Buy 5 get 1 free? Here you might even need to pay a little more than some other Chinese bakeries in the area. But I tell you come try the egg tart ($1) here! Just love that buttery flaky crust and the filling just has this great smooth taste of silky egg... I will just shut up and eat my egg tart... BTW, their store made chestnut tart looks just as interesting... I am going to try that next time!

Aromaz is my go to premium Chinese bakery. Business has grown substantially over the past couple of years. The door to the kitchen used to be open so that patrons could see how the food was being prepared. Now a days, the door is usually closed, and when opened, I can see many workers crammed into the kitchen preparing the buns, pastries and more. The bbq pork buns and egg tarts are excellent. All the food I have savored, range from above average to excellent. The high volume of repeat customers like myself and minimal leftovers at the end of the day is testament to the taste and quality of the food offered here.

Oreo Cake but it is chocolate cake

The cake looks pretty. But the cake taste so bad and it is to sweet. I had to throw the cake in the garbage. All of my family member said it is too sweet, and had never ate a cake that is too sweet. Waste of my money and not worth buying this cake. I ask for Oreo flavour and then said ok they can make it. But all my family members said this is chocolate not Oreo at all.

The bottom of the cake was crumbling. A huge chunk of it was missing. Really? Can you sell something like this?

I don't know about their breads but their cakes are definitely not presentable and neither do they taste good. My picture of their chocolate almond cake says it all. I couldn't even tell it looked like that in the display case because the ugly side was facing the inside. so sneaky. No bakery would sell something like this. I am extremely disappointed because I used to order their durian cake for special occasions. I would give Aromaz zero stars if it's possible to. I learned my lesson and will never buy their cakes again.

Located right next to the food court in Chartwell to tempt you with sweets after your meal. By the end of the day around 6:00pm almost all the cases were cleaned out! That should give you an indication of how hot these cakes are. The mini coconut tarts are bite sized and not too greasy. On this visit they had a fresh batch of egg tarts come out that were filled with silky smooth custard. I have to say that one of the specialty items is their breads. The milk bread is super soft and has that wonderful touch of sweet. The only thing that was kind of a flop for me was the coconut twist. It was a little on the dry side. The ladies are nice enough to bag everything up individually so it stays fresh. They do offer some drinks if you're wanting a beverage to go with a snack to eat there. There's no seating within the bakery but you can take it to the food court that is literally steps away.

This is one of my favorite Asian bakery. I love how clean it is and I can see part of the kitchen. This bakery has a variety of sweet or savory buns at a competitive price. Their Swiss rolls aren't cheap but it's pretty tasty. I also adore the glass display case that is extremely clean and there's always a variety of cakes/tarts. Only complaint I have with this place is their lines are way too long. No matter how many people are working that day there's always a line. That's because the cashiers are extremely efficient and they think wiping off the trays is more important than the huge lineup.

Clean, small bakery inside chartwell mall. Their buns and egg tarts are delicious but limited selection on cakes and buns of the day. It could be the day I went though. Their cake selection seems to change a lot. They also do sweet tables for weddings with sweet selection that varies depending on what the chef likes to make. We are having them do our sweets table for June and the caterer who works with them are say that they only provide "chef choices" and we can't really pick what we want which is a bit of a problem which is why I'm docking a star for not being flexible.

I am from Mississauga and I always come to this place when I need to get bakery for my family. I have to say, I can't find a better bakery in Mississauga. They have a lot of varieties in store to choose from and their swiss roll are pretty good too.

Nice looking bakery, however, their prices have gone up (so expensive). Horrible customer service from the front workers.

Got food poisoning after consuming a couple of baked goods. The cakes were tasteless and dry. Disappointing and will not visit again.

The pastries and mochi breads are absolutely exquisite! I tried the black sesame mochi bread--light, pillowy, and filled with a delightful little white mochi surprise. The crème brûlée almond tart was incredible too, with its thick, eggy custard and a blueberry-almond center. And the Hitotoki matcha tart? Gorgeous and just perfect. It was my first visit, and I discovered the bakery through their 2nd-anniversary IG post. I bought about $20 worth of treats and got to spin their prize wheel--and I actually won the Grand Prize: a limited-edition gold Nespresso & milk frother kit! I literally jumped for joy. Yet another reason to love this incredible bakery!

It was okay. Tried three items:…read more Matcha Lava Tart - The staff said this had the strongest matcha flavour among their matcha items. But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

My wife always judges a French Cafe by their Butter Croissant ($3.00) and she liked it! She also noticed all the  staff speak French sp it gives it even more legitimacy.  She also ordered a Flat White ($4.50) which was also good. I ordered a Plum Almond Tart ($7.25) because it was the prettiest. It was super delicious so it was definitely a good choice! Service was courteous and friendly. You place your order at the counter and bring it to your table. Someone will come around to clear the dishes when you are done It is a great place to have a nice casual time eating and socializing. They make all their food in-house in the basement. There are products for sale such as coffee beans, fruit syrup, maple syrup, smoked sauces, olive oil, scented soap, wine glassware, etc. I will definitely come back again to try other items. Hopped on my bike and a half hour later I was there. The friendly staff helped me by answering my question regarding eggs and which items did not have any in the recipes. This place was also super poppin' when I got there. It was earlish in the day around 10:30am and it seemed all the tables were pretty much taken. They are adding a dinner menu which is very exciting. Their pastries are phenomenal!!! Picked up a plum and pistachio tart, a chocolate mousse cake and an apple Danish for my mom. Plus a chocolate caramelized croissant. So much butter, and yet so good. Brought my container, which they happily used. The last time I visited this spot back in 2022, I vowed I would come back and take up space in that beautiful bay window seat. Yet I haven't followed through with that yet. One day. They also changed the name, since I was there last it was called Le Conciliabule Lab. Le Conciliabule means, "speak easy", as their website says. It was used back in the day to describe a place where people would come together and talk about everything and nothing. I can definitely say that happens here. What a beautiful concept, "everything and nothing". Now named Bisou, which means kiss. That's actually really simple and sweet. Since every pastry and any food item or beverage enjoyed here is a kiss for your tastebuds. Love it. Keep going team. You are amazing!
