First impressions was that it was in a cozy area and was very welcoming. Not only do they have drinks but they also have tea, coffee, mugs, crochet coasters, and other cute goodies that they sell. Me and my sister got the mango matcha latte and the peach matcha latte and we absolutely loved it. My sister's a matcha aficionado and she loved their matcha latte. I would say that the matcha is quite expensive but I could tell that it is high quality which makes up for it. I spent about $24 for 2 of the large sized matcha lattes. Their drinks were quite good and so if I'm ever around the area I'd come back to try more of their drinks! The server was also quite nice.

It was a total matcha takeover at Honoka Cafe and it was every green tea lover's dream! I started with a classic Matcha Latte--super smooth and perfectly earthy. But the real stars were the treats. The Matcha Kanten Parfait had the best mix of textures, while the Matcha Cheesecake was incredibly rich and creamy. To balance it all out, the Cloud Cake was so light and airy, it literally felt like eating a fluffy dream. This is definitely one of the best cupcakes I've had.

Second visit, we got the Onigiri combo set with 2 onigiris + cold brew/hot tea. The Yuzu Honey Soda was also nice and refreshing. The onigiris are chubs yummy :)

It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of tang. Fairly light, but still very flavorful. Pricing I thought was a little on the pricey side. It was. $103 for the small cake and 7 cookies. I guess that's probably average, but coming from a smaller town, it's more than I expected. Still happy to support small businesses.

Be prepared for a bit of a line on weekends. The store has ropes to guide the lineup. With all that said, Yan's is well worth the wait. This place has been around for decades. I have been a loyal supporter since their Market Village location. Although the new storefront is smaller with takeout only, it still offers the same great options that keep everyone coming back. The prices remain reasonable ($3 and up). Their soy milk is top-notch. My absolute favorite has to be the coconutmilk tofu pudding ($3.70). It is a delightful treat! If you are a fan of soy based desserts, Yan's Soy Food is a must-visit!

It didn't look like the image online when I ordered - it was actually much more beautiful in person. It was a hit with my Asian grandma and family, including the kids - so you know it's good. You could really taste the strawberry and lychee flavours. The jelly strawberry layer was still frozen when we cut into it a few hours later (stored in the fridge) but it was still very good. The rose tea flavour was sooo good, I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did but it was the perfect mix of floral, sweet, and tea flavoured. I love how nothing tastes artificial. For around $10, it's a pretty solid place to grab some dessert. The only downside is that they have very limited seating here. We got lucky because a table was just leaving as we arrived, so we managed to snag a small table to sit and chat. But it still gets very crammed in there when there's usually a line that runs along the same area as their seating. This spot is best if you're coming to hang with one person, otherwise it's not very accommodating for groups due to the limitations of their space.
