This cafe and bakery is located inside Galleria. The staff were very friendly and patient with us. The store was cute and cozy and showcases a minimalistic feel. Grapefruit Black Tea (4/5) was refreshing. A perfect drink to cool you down in the summer. It had citrus notes that were not too overpowering. Matcha Strawberry Latte (4/5) was enjoyable. You can really taste the matcha. It was complemented well by the sweetness and the strawberries. Iced Coffee (5/5) was great. Their coffee had a bold finish with a nutty note. We did find the grapefruit and the strawberry syrups/purees were too sweet so I suggest to ask the staff for a bit less if you're not a big fan of sweet drinks. read more

One of my favourite bakery shop to get cake because they never disappoint! I have been always getting cake from here and I love the consistency with the taste. My favourite is the sweet potato bear cake because its so perfectly made. I got the 6" cake that is good for 4-8 people and it was $32. Each layer is delicious, the cream is just right and the cake itself is soft and light. They also add pieces of sweet potato between each layer its so yummy! Each time I'm at Galleria, I walk by their bakery section and see their cute teddy bear cake. I finally had the opportunity to pick up one for a birthday earlier this week. The teddy bear cake is a sweet potato flavour with layers of soft spongey cake with layers of sweet potato cream between it. This cake is really light and not very sweet. It totally matches the criteria of most Asians who prefer their desserts to be less sweet. The mini teddy bear cake was $21 and is recommended for 2-3 people. The price for the quality is pretty fair and I look forward to trying their other cakes! read more

My go-to Korean bakery when I am uptown! I've always been a fan of Bakery Gateau and have never been disappointed by their baked goods (I would say that I am quite well-versed with their items by now haha). If you're like me and love cakes and baked goods but can't stand things that are too sweet then I definitely recommend trying this place out. My favourite items are their strawberry roll cakes, sweet potato cake, red bean and walnut buns, and pizza buns. I've also tried their Korean shaved ice in the summer and really enjoyed it (not sure if they still have these in the winter). This location is inside Galleria supermarket but they also sell their buns and roll cakes at the smaller Gallerias located downtown. The staff are generally friendly and the stores are very clean and social distancing is being followed. They sometimes sell out at the downtown locations but hopefully they'll restock more often! read more

I like! Despite being located inconspicuously in a supermarket, the presentation and taste of the cake was quite good. The sweetness and smoothness of the cream balanced fairly well with the slight bitterness and texture of the sponge base. There wasn't anything to exclaim over in terms of flavour complexity, but the cake definitely looked well made. Prices are reasonable. Service (the little I experienced, since it was just placing and picking up an order) was comfortable and nice. Bonus points for being open all days of the week (so many other bakeries are closed on Monday/Sunday/other random times). read more

One of my favorite bakeries! This bakery is inside Galleria Supermarket but is a store of its own. Everyday they offer a huge selection of buns. Although this location has less selection than the store at Yonge and Steeles. But when it comes to flavor and quality of the goods, both locations are EXCELLENT! I have tried the sausage donut ($2), the sugar twist donut ($1.80), the cream cheese bun ($2) and the red bean and cream cheese bun ($2). I recommend all of them and I think that whichever bun you choose you will not be disappointed. This bakery has better-tasting buns than a typical chinese bakery. What really earns them their 5 stars is the unique variety of baked goods you'll find here! Don't get me wrong, other than the variety, the buns themselves are good! Or at least all the ones I have tried lol. I was skeptical about cheese with red bean but it turned out to be a rather good combination. It's cream cheese so it is a sweet and salty bun. I love the sweet potato cream bun. Sweet potato flavor is subtle and the bun is really really soft. They have a green tea and regular cream version too. I tried the peanut crunch one and my bf was a big fan but I felt like it wasn't quite crunchy enough so it came off as a stale sort of crispy to me. The cream in the middle is just regular white cream, not flavored. I'm not a fan of it but it wasn't bad overall. Would definitely go back to try a few other things! Worth a visit! read more

The best cheese muffin and green tea cream pastry I had in the GTA. They were neither overly sweet nor bland. The green tea cream pastry was also very creamy and so I liked it a lot. As for the Charlotte roll, I think it could be better by adding more cream and less of the bread. I also would prefer the bread to be softer and moister but that's just my personal taste. I have tasted a lot of similar cakes and so I can easily tell the differences. I also liked their tiramisu. I'll be trying their fruit cream cake next. read more

I came back here again for cakes. Was looking for NY Cheesecake. Unfortunately it was sold out. I was dying to try it! I had their Sweet Potato Cakes last time which was a bomb!!! I like the react that their cakes are not too sweet, fluffy and tasty. Moreover, I went with 16" Tiramisu which the staff suggested is one of their popular cakes. Located inside the Galleria Supermarket. Stopped by on a Thursday evening and bought the green tea sweet potato cake. Interesting flavour combo - potatoes in a slice of cake. The bitterness of the green tea balances well with the sweetness of the sponge cake. Pieces of sweet potato in the fluffy cream filling. Oh? Another patbingsu review? This one was better than the one I had two years ago. That's for sure. They're doing proper shaved ice now. The milky kind. We got the green tea one today for $8.80 plus tax, and while it wasn't very big, especially shared between three people, it was quite tasty. They put the matcha powder in with the milk mix, so the shaved ice was actually matcha flavored. They then put a good amount of red beans and condensed milk on top, then added a few bits of mochi. Without the condensed milk, it could have been a bit sweeter, but with it, it was just about right. While this isn't going to be my go-to patbingsu place, I'm still thankful for a place close to home where I can get my shaved ice cravings satisfied. read more
