Leo the owner is so kind, accommodating, and provides such great customer service. The cafe itself is a bright and airy corner spot with such a welcoming atmosphere. This is one of my favourite places for croissants and pastries in North York and definitely one of my regular go-to spots. Everything is always so consistent ...from the food and drinks to the service. I love their chocolate, butter croissant, and the coffee and matcha are both great too. Bonus that they offer milk substitutes as well. Would definitely recommend!

Small bakery west of Yonge and Finch. Came here to try the Dubai chewy cookie. It was pretty good but realistically could only eat one. For $6 a piece I think it was worth it. What I really ended up enjoying was the red bean croissant. It was crunchy, flaky, creamy, and not too sweet. The focaccia was also yummy. Staff were helpful as well. They dont restock items so once its done, thats it for the day. And they do run out.

B&B creates one of the best croissants I've ever had. I can't even express how good they are, albeit that they are quite pricey. And somehow the price doesn't stop me from wanting to go back..

A much needed patisserie by the Yonge & Finch area. Good pastries, decent drinks, limited seating. FOOD (4/5) We ordered three croissants: (1) Cheese & Salami, (2) Strawberry Marscapone, and (3) Milk Cream. By far the favourite was the cheese and salami croissant; flaky outside, soft inside, good balance of savoury from the salami, and fragrance from the cheese crusting. Slight variation on the textbook ham and cheese croissant. The strawberry marscapone croissant was fresh, airy, and lightly sweet. Unfortunately, the marscapone did not come through at all and just tasted like whip which felt a bit misleading as it's labelled as marscapone filling. Beware, milk cream croissant is SUPER MESSY to eat cause it's covered in little cake crumbs which I think was a bit unnecessary. The outer crumby coating is mildly vanilla sweet and it's filled with a milk based cream/filling. The flavour is a bit unidimensional and I'd recommend sharing this with someone ideally on a plate with a knife LOL DRINKS (4/5) We ordered an Iced Americano and an Iced Vanilla Latte both were very textbook. The iced vanilla latte had a very light vanilla flavour and we wished it was more prominent. LOCATION (3.5/5) Just a short walk west from Finch station, they are quite accessible by transit. If driving, there is street parking on Yonge, paid parking at Finch station, or at the small parking lot for Hendon Park a short walk away (recommend this). AMBIENCE (3/5) The interior was modernly renovated with light marble and lighting however there are very limited seats. There is a small bankette seat by the window, and 2 small benches with IKEA coffee tables in the corner. There is also some seating on the patio out front for warmer days. The back half of the unit is where they prep ane bake their pastries, so it's cool they do it in house! VALUE (4/5) Prices were quite on par with most other patisseries in the GTA. Pastry selection was decent but not abundant. Quality of food was good but nothing felt like nothing WOWed us. OVERALL (4/5) Really solid cafe and pastry option in North York with a decent variety of pastries and classic cafe drinks. I would definitely come back to try more of their savoury pastries!

Really wish they would pack their baked goods better - photo 1

Brick & Butter Bakehouse opened up at the end of last month. They took over a sizable spot that used to be a Korean spicy rice cake chain with ample seating, so I was surprised to see the space so underutilized with zero seating. I asked if they had plans to have seating, and they said not at the moment. We'll see. The place has high ceilings, a pleasant calm ambience, and is very bare-bones in terms of decor. Things I've had from here that tasted great: mushroom alfredo danish, tomato basil danish, black sesame croissant, fig and cream cheese financier. Not so great: milk cream croissant (expensive yet so soggy! and the decorative layer of crumbs on top had no taste or function). And a huge minus for me is how carelessly they pack the goods. Literally on top of each other! Toppings from the tomato basil danish fell into the box and the drizzle affected the croissant below... yuck. Wish they cared more about proper packaging!

I needed to take a walk so to treat myself. I stopped by Brick & Butter Bakehouse and ordered the butter croissant, chocolate croissant and sesame croissant. Just finished the chocolate and original croissant. It was absolutely delicious. Crunchy on the outside and so soft and fluffy inside. Once you start, hard to stop eating them. They had a chocolate cake and another red bean cake but they don't sell it by the slice. They have different coffees, latte, cortado, tea. The interior they don't have seats, ambiance was clean and simple. Overall, so glad this new spot open near me. Already told my mom about this spot and how tasty it is so she will need to check it out too!

This place has delicious asian style baked goods. They have both sweet and savoury flavours. It is soooo good. It is better to come in the morning so that you get a fresh batch and the items are more fully stocked. The croissants are both flaky and soft and chewy at the same time. I have tried every flavour and item here. I love the matcha croissant and the mushroom croissant. the tart is not bad. The cookies are ok, i would skip it. If you are a fan of baked goods and in the area, definitely give this place a shot. They have limited seating inside and during the warmer months the patio is open. The serve drinks as well, personally the matcha drink is overpriced $10.

Brick & Butter Bakehouse located along Finch Ave W near Greenview Ave is North York's newest bakery for croissants, coffee, and dessert. The bakery officially opened at the end of March and have been a new favourite in the neighbourhood with their items selling out on the weekends. In terms of their coffee they use Hatch coffee beans, a local roaster. I stopped by Brick & Butter Bakehouse on a Monday morning around 7:30am or so before heading to work. Opted to get a cortado and a chocolate croissant as well as a savory mushroom alfredo croissant. My coffee was made at a reasonable time and tasted great. I was a bit too early so the display of pastries was still half empty as the bakers in the back were hard at work baking away. When I was leaving I saw that they had stocked up on the tomato basil danish (will have to try that next time!). The store also had several strawberry shortcakes on display (~$50 each). Service was friendly and staff were attentive despite it being so early. My only wish is that i hope they have seating in the future as it would be great to enjoy my items there! Overall, the items I bought were great and delicious. So glad that North York finally has a great place for French pastries and coffee. Can't wait to go back to try more pastries as well as their sourdough!

Finally, I tried this bakery. I choose mushroom and another croissant with black sesame. The price is around 6 to 7 dollars per piece. I like the mushroom more as the black sesame is kind of too sweet to me. Both pastry is very crispy however, it is not that battery which I expect croissant should be. Service is nice and it is putting out some free sampling coffee to try. There are a couple of table outside which customer can enjoy their breakfast or snack. There is not much parking nearby. Only free parking in the weekend.

Food: good croissant! Latte and mocha was good (they use Hatch coffee bean). Ambiance: modern looking. Owner said they may put some chairs and tables in the future. Value: price on par with Paris Baguette. Location: limited free parking in front only on weekends. Or else free parking will be one block away in residential area. 5 min walk from Finch station.

Went more towards the evening 6pm and they still had lots of pastries. The black sesame crossiant was good but it would have definitely tasted better If I got it at the beginning of the day. The matcha red bean crossiant was calling for me but I was too full. They have a full latte and coffee menu. They sell tarts and cakes as well. A few seats as well! Very modern ambiance. you can either park on side street or Green P.

Decent spot for matcha and coffee. The pastries are pretty good, really enjoyed the black sesame croissant and the matcha as well. The staff was nice and friendly and service was quick. There's not much space for seating though but it's nice and bright inside.

What a gem! This bakery is tucked into the southeast corner…read moreof Yonge & College, and walking inside feels like stepping straight into Japan. The pastries and mochi breads are absolutely exquisite! I tried the black sesame mochi bread--light, pillowy, and filled with a delightful little white mochi surprise. The crème brûlée almond tart was incredible too, with its thick, eggy custard and a blueberry-almond center. And the Hitotoki matcha tart? Gorgeous and just perfect. It was my first visit, and I discovered the bakery through their 2nd-anniversary IG post. I bought about $20 worth of treats and got to spin their prize wheel--and I actually won the Grand Prize: a limited-edition gold Nespresso & milk frother kit! I literally jumped for joy. Yet another reason to love this incredible bakery!

It was okay. Tried three items:…read more Matcha Lava Tart - The staff said this had the strongest matcha flavour among their matcha items. But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

My wife wanted to go there so we went on 2023-01-31 mid-morning when there would more selection…read more They definitely have quite a selection of pastries and savoury food. My wife always judges a French Cafe by their Butter Croissant ($3.00) and she liked it! She also noticed all the  staff speak French sp it gives it even more legitimacy.  She also ordered a Flat White ($4.50) which was also good. I ordered a Plum Almond Tart ($7.25) because it was the prettiest. It was super delicious so it was definitely a good choice! Service was courteous and friendly. You place your order at the counter and bring it to your table. Someone will come around to clear the dishes when you are done It is a great place to have a nice casual time eating and socializing. They make all their food in-house in the basement. There are products for sale such as coffee beans, fruit syrup, maple syrup, smoked sauces, olive oil, scented soap, wine glassware, etc. I will definitely come back again to try other items. There is free WiFi. The neo-bisto is not wheelchair accessible since there are stairs leading up to the entrance. There are two gender-neutral washrooms. There is free street parking on their one-way south-bound street. Review 2023-017

Amazing place! I…read morecalled ahead to find out if they had this plum tart I purchased the first time I was there. Yet no one answered the phone. No problem. Hopped on my bike and a half hour later I was there. The friendly staff helped me by answering my question regarding eggs and which items did not have any in the recipes. This place was also super poppin' when I got there. It was earlish in the day around 10:30am and it seemed all the tables were pretty much taken. They are adding a dinner menu which is very exciting. Their pastries are phenomenal!!! Picked up a plum and pistachio tart, a chocolate mousse cake and an apple Danish for my mom. Plus a chocolate caramelized croissant. So much butter, and yet so good. Brought my container, which they happily used. The last time I visited this spot back in 2022, I vowed I would come back and take up space in that beautiful bay window seat. Yet I haven't followed through with that yet. One day. They also changed the name, since I was there last it was called Le Conciliabule Lab. Le Conciliabule means, "speak easy", as their website says. It was used back in the day to describe a place where people would come together and talk about everything and nothing. I can definitely say that happens here. What a beautiful concept, "everything and nothing". Now named Bisou, which means kiss. That's actually really simple and sweet. Since every pastry and any food item or beverage enjoyed here is a kiss for your tastebuds. Love it. Keep going team. You are amazing!
