Yummmmm cannoli and cream puffs - A box contains cannoli with powdered sugar and cream-filled ends, along with chocolate-covered cream puffs decorated with white chocolate drizzle.

TLDR: These pastries I got satisfied my cravings for European pastries. The cannoli is crunchy and so rich. I'm glad this came up in yelp reco We drove up to Vaughan to check out chapters and I suddenly felt the need to eat something sweet. Usually i'd go to cannoli queens but they were closed and THANKFULLY they were because as I was searching in cannoli in both google and yelp, Rustic Bakery came up. I saw the photos and I felt the need to visit it. I missed a lot of intersection and it was in the middle of a toronto neighbourhood I'm not familiar with. So, when I finally arrived in Rustic road, i wasnt sure what to expect. I just follow my gutfeel - went inside and head to the back of the store and lo and behold - huge selection of pastries! They also sell gelato! I was aiming for the cannoli but I saw a cream puff. you'll never go wrong with a creampuff. I got 2 each (cannoli flavour) and 3 cream puff. The one helping me is so easy to talk to and she acknowledges people who are waiting. It's really nice that she does that cause customer would know that they will be served. So i got out with my pastry box, i didnt even wait till I get home. I tried it in my car. Damn. It was so worth the drive and I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. So, yes, I'm marking this as a go-to cannoli place!! It's a gem!

Have been here a few times and below are what I've tried so far: Custard tarts: pretty good and microwaving 15 secs helps Mini Tiramisu: good but imo too much mascarpone, ratio to ladyfingers is a bit off. Strawberry shortcake: I think one of the worst I've tried, candied strawberry, cream frosting too sweet, whole cake tastes very artificial - DO NOT RECOMMEND cannoli: should've gone for the classic cannoli. The one I picked had a puff pastry outshell, which got really dry and flaky after being in shelf too long - also DO NOT RECOMMEND Overall ok spot if you are in the neighborhood and need sweet fix. And price is very fair, paid $12 for the whole box

This is my favourite bakery, I always buy cakes from them, for any celebration. They have never let me down. Their cakes are always freshly baked and the frosting is great as well.

What a hidden gem! I found Rustic Bakery after my little sister told me randomly that she wanted to try cannoli for the first time. It was Canada day so I wasn't sure if anything would be open, but thankfully Rustic was (I called them to confirm). The location is nestled in a little neighbourhood just off of Lawrence Ave by Blackcreek Dr. They had a few different kinds of cannoli. I got the regular kind and the one with chocolate chips. THESE WERE THE BEST CANNOLI I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Admittedly, I am not Italian nor have I been to Italy but these were the best I've ever had in the city. The cheese wasn't too sweet. The pastry outside was crunchy. They've also got a large assortment of different Italian pastries such as tiramisu, phyllo pastries, cakes etc. that I plan on trying eventually. In the back they have a hot foods section that includes lasagna, pastas, veal, chicken etc. that you can purchase either for eating there (there are a few tables right out front where you can eat) or take out. I wanted a meatball sandwich when I was there but they didn't have any meatballs that day, probably because it was a holiday. There's also a full deli with various cheese and meats like provolone and salami. On the right there's a small supermarket where you can get your essentials like eggs, milk and produce. There is parking just right outside, although it is quite limited. There's approximately 15 spots available for the little plaza but I think a lot of people are in and out. You could also park along the smaller neighbourhood streets as well. Service was friendly. The girl who got my deli meats kept asking me to repeat myself and didn't give me the right amount of cheese (200g when I asked for 100g but then who's complaining, the more cheese, the better haha) but I think she was new. I will be back next time I'm in the area for those scrumptious cannoli!

A good variety of sweets. However, this place makes you feel like an outsider if you have coloured skin. Be better RB.

My favourite though, has to be the classic, butter croissant. I picked up a strawberry short cake for a family dinner, and oh my gosh, it was so yummy. The cake was made out of layers of chiffon cake (super light and airy) and a delicious whipped cream with strawberries pieces nestled between the layers. I've only done take out there, but they do have a small area with seating, including space outdoors for warmer months. The service is good, staff are friendly and efficient. Even if there's a line, you're not really waiting that long. The location is easy to get to from Finch Station, but if you're traveling by car, parking may be a bit tough to find, though there is street parking and a paid lot a couple blocks further north by the TTC lot.

The space is not big but there some limited seating. The display cases are at the far end of the store and if there is a lineup it will be hard to see what is available unless you get closer to the cash area and if this is your first time here and don't know what is available it might take a bit to decide. The coveted Dubai Chewy cookie sits next to the cash area. You can get a box of 4 or singles. We got a box of 4, with tax....just over 27 bucks. Was it worth it? I would say YES! The coating was soft and chewy with a generous amount of filling with the kataifi giving a nice crunch. This is definitely a treat.

We stopped by a couple times while in Toronto and while we were impressed initially, realized there were much better elsewhere. I nabbed the last pineapple bun with butter since it seemed highly coveted, as well as a normal pineapple bun. The pineapple bun has great flavor but tended to be a little dry. The butter helped a lot, but the bun without butter lacked the moisture - although maybe it was because we didn't buy it fresh in the morning? The trend with the pineapple bun does seem to be that the bread itself is a little dry but the ones with fillings, such as chasiu or butter, gives it the moisture it needs. The egg tarts were standard. Not bad but nothing special - and not something I would come back for. I also got a wife pastry that was not very good. Price wise, it's definitely a little steep. But it may be worth to not having to drive in poor weather to get to Markham or Richmond Hill. I do recommend coming in the morning while the pastries and buns are still fresh - it does seem to be better during the day versus at night.
