Service started off slow but got better as the night went on. In general, service here is better than most Korean BBQ places. Marination was subpar, everything was on the saltier end and the spicy chicken was not spicy at all. And not to mention, they don't have spicy pork as a selection, which is a first for my experience at a Korean BBQ place. In addition, they didn't have their special seasoned drumsticks, which I don't know how they managed that since it was only 6:45pm when we got there so there's no way it would've have sold out already. I really wanted this place to do well. They have a really great restaurant name. The food execution is horrible. I'm pretty sure I had 3-4 lbs of meat fat. The meat had almost little to no meat and mainly fat. Pretty sure it's like the worst quality meat at a kbbq I've had. Worse than palace. I would much rather eat at palace than here. The rice scoops hardly filled the bowl. The side dishes were the saddest portions. None of the side dishes were authentic. They didn't taste like they all should. Some of them were salty when they shouldn't have been. And the seasoned spinach was not.. korean. They boiled the spinach and spritzed lemon or lime above it lol. The side dishes were pretty laughable. The workers are really nice. Super nice. Not the most efficient but very nice people. I'm really sorry to leave this review but the food here is really bad. Our group of 4 entered Baegopa starving and left Baegopa absolutely stuffed to the brim. Meat selection despite not having many options were all high quality and on-point. I didn't feel cheated out of my $40~ like I have been in the past at other establishments. A tip I have for all new kbbq eaters out there: eat with lettuce wraps rather than rice. This place was pretty solid! The meat selection was great, faves were definitely the short ribs, bulgogi and garlic beef. The others were ok but the short ribs def the best! They only had 2 dipping sauces a sweet one and a sesame one, I have been other places that had a few more and tasted better, but the meat and servings here are much better. The servers came around to check on you regularly and brought more meat quickly!! They also changed our grill plates out each time they brought more meat which was nice, other places I have been did not do that (somewhere in shoreline) also the other good thing was the grill cooked the meat pretty fast. I bring that up bc another place I went it cooked really slow and when the servers finally got around to bringing you more the the meat has just been barely cooked and for an all you can eat with a time limit you don't really get your moneys worth... Baegopa has good quick service, with good meat options and a strong grill making the time limit for all you can eat WORTH IT!! We went by after work on the 3rd day of their soft opening. What an inviting atmosphere! Very warm, clean and hip. The staff was incredibly welcoming and efficient. The food was delicious. We loved the seafood pancake (which had been a great recommendation by our server). We were brought a number of interesting side dishes that surrounded the BBQ pit. The beef brisket was sliced very thin and was very tender and the chicken was so flavourful. We thought we'd have leftovers but somehow ate everything! Ate here with a friend on a Friday at around 5 or 5:30 and was seated after a few mins with the rice and sides brought out to our table. We ordered Combo 3 since it was just the two of us and that came with more than enough meat for us. The sides were good, but wished they had salad and potato salad as additional sides to go with everything. The chicken was marinated really well and I thought the meat was comparable to other k-bbq places. My friend and I both thought the tofu soup had really good flavor and spice and would come back just to eat that. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive and replaced our grill multiple times and asked us if we needed anything multiple times, which was very nice. The only thing that made my whole eating experience not so good was being seated right under the tv that was turned up really loud. I had asked for the tv to be turned down a little and they did so, but then after a while the tv got turned back up and I had trouble conversing with my friend. I would recommend getting speakers and putting them where it wouldn't distract from people's conversations. Regardless of that incident, I would come back here to try some of their Ready to Eat items. read more

Our tongs and grill were dirty, however the staff did replace it right away when we asked. The side dishes here are not great. It looked like no effort was putting into making them and it looked bought from Hmart. When asking for soybean paste (which is the staple sauce for KBBQ) they didn't have it and proceeded to offer me gochujang... which I was very confused. Soju and beer is also ridiculously priced. I'm giving this place a 2 starts because the staff were friendly and accommodating but the restaurant sucked. Was very disappointed. If you want the REAL unlimited KBBQ experience for a better price, go to Shin Sung in Fed Way or Exit 5 (not unlimited) in Renton. Hate to leave these types of reviews. read more

We love this Korean BBQ Place, Baegopa. It's such a unique atmosphere and setting. The presentation of the meats we ordered were outstanding since they placed it in a tower type setting. Meats were fresh and very well plated. They were proactive in changing our grill when it darkened. The Korean music video that was playing made the place inviting and cool. The staff here was very friendly, efficient, lively and down to earth. Despite the fact that it was a busy night, our server I believe his name was Hairie, took his time to get to know us, which was terrific along with the other staff. I really hope they open one up in Hawaii where this type of business concept will draw crowds not only to the tourist but to our locals as well. I went with a friend on their first day of soft opening. I'm not an expert on KBBQ or aesthetics, but the decor looked geared towards a younger crowd rather than I guess a "family" restaurant. My friend and I got the "Combo A" which is prime beef brisket, marinated beef brisket, prime rib eye, and LA galbi for $103.95. It came with banchan (per the menu you get 2 free refills, and then $1.49/dish), a small metal bowl of white rice each, and a small sauce tray of gochujang and sesame oil w/salt. The server left us with a container of water to pour ourselves, and helped us get the grill started (controls for it are on the side of the table). I think the quality of the meat was fine, not too fatty or lean. The combo seemed like enough for about 3-4 people. My only criticisms are to provide a larger plate (especially to put bones away), more napkins from the start, and that there wasn't any immediate ventilation above the grill on the table. It tasted OK but if I had to label the food we had here, I'd say its fusion Korean food with.... non-Korean spices and flavors. Anyone on here that has given this restaurant high ratings really doesn't know what authentic Korean bbq tastes like. The soon dubu was laughable. The banchan tasted old and over sweetened to cover the unfresh flavors of the vegetables. The meat was very mediocre and seasoned with some weird sweet flavor. Just no. No no no. The meat selections are rather limited for $36.95. there are no options for cuts such as pork jowl, beef tongue, etc. The current menu is formatted very confusingly too so it was hard to tell what was part of the AYCE and what was a la carte. The grills burned a lot easier than what I'm used to, but the servers were very attentive and changed our grills frequently. Their service was great. Most KBBQs also start off with a large first round of meats and quickly taper the portions, but we consistently got loaded plates of meat. My main complaint is that the meat selection is limited for the price, and it was unclear to us that dishes such as the scallion pancake and steamed egg were NOT part of the AYCE. We ended up getting charged $8 per steamed egg which is crazy high. Most KBBQs usually give you free spicy tofu soup AND steamed eggs as part of the package especially at this price point. Would come again, but the confusing menu and expensive steamed egg were a sore spot. read more

Went on a Friday night and their hours show they close at 10pm. We went in at 9 and got greeted by a manager who was shaking his head showing us no. We asked for a table and the kind host saw the look on his manager's face and asked us to wait while he goes to speak to him. He came back saying his manager would not allow us to eat there unless we order from a particular menu. From the managers rude greeting and their unwillingness to serve us well before they close, I would never go here again. We are all in the service industry so we know how important customer service is. If their hours show 10pm, 10 pm should be their last seating otherwise, they should change their hours and change their manager. read more

Gross, it's just gross! It's a Korean restaurant with the grills in the tables but without ventilation. Everything felt greasy, sticky, and slippery. My chopstick was stuck to the napkin and there were drops of grease on all the tables. We were the first couple people in at lunch. i've been to a lot of KBBQ's in LA so I feel like I have a certain standard I expect out of KBBQ experience. first of all, walking in, this place was too quiet with no music or any lively vibe going on which is weird and awkward to sit through. 2nd, they don't even provide a menu, and they didn't attempt to explain what offering they had upon ordering. Eventually I ordered in korean (which they couldn't understand what the meats were called), then i said "brisket", then which i had to explain "the thinly sliced beef"... they bring out the meats, and they definitely don't offer any service in which they cook the meats for you, and everything burned on the grill so easily(even on the unmarinated meats. the cadence in which they change the grills was decent but you definitely had to get the waiters attention which always felt a little slow and slowed the dinner down significantly. they also made mistakes such as bringing out more beers than ordered and charging us for it at the end of the night. i ordered a japchae and bibimbap for a vegetarian coworker of mine, and the honestly felt SO BAD for him. the japchae was so bland(no soy sauce or salt) and the bibibap had no red pepper paste or any other condiments(just rice, carrots, bean sprouts, cucumber). was embarrassingly not well done. lastly worst of all, they let us know at the END there is a 1.5 hour timer in which you order meat for Ayce. my last requested order was 2 min above that time (i didn't really get to eat because i was cooking and coordinating conversations with my group) and by the end of it left the AYCE barely eating anything. they were absolutely not accommodating and have no sympathy revealing this in this review. in terms of meat quality, it's what you would expect from an entry level kbbq(cheapest), which you can easily tell by the quality and tenderness and marbling level of the brisket which was chewy and dry. the galbi was ok, but you can't really mess that up considering it's all marinated. i definitely feel like this was a few notches below the kbbq in university village. ranked accordingly. read more

The staff seemed super busy but managed to get us what we needed. I felt like the combo was pretty expensive, but I also felt like even the small one was way too big for 2 people. The ambience and ventilation at this restaurant is definitely a lot better than most Korean BBQ places I've been to. The price is a bit steep for the amount of choices there is to choose from. It was about $35 with about 7 choices to choose from. Though you pay for quality here. The brisket was one of the best I've had because it was sliced slightly thicker and prevented over cooking of the meat. The pork belly was pretty mediocre and could be sliced thinner for ease of eating. The garlic pork was one of my favorite because of how flavorful it was. Service was quick and kind. The meat was beautifully presented on a tower type of plating to save table space.They made sure we had everything we needed like water, liquor, and sides. The side dishes were standard like bean sprouts, lettuce, Kim chee, radish, and potatoes. The potatoes were still crispy on the inside so I felt like it could have used more time on the stove.
