I can't say enough good things about B&J Tree Service. They do volunteer work in our community to help with fire hazards. I ran into a situation where we needed a lot of bamboo removed quickly, and they went above and beyond to squeeze us in asap. Brandon was super commutative, and the team did great work! read more

Had BJ's Tree Trimming out today to clean up our palms and couldn't be happier with the results. Our four tall palms (they've got to be 40+ feet!) were looking shaggy, and now they're perfectly trimmed and shaped. The crew worked efficiently, cleaned up thoroughly afterward, and left our pool area spotless. Great communication throughout and fair pricing for the height/difficulty of the job. Highly recommend if you need palm trees trimmed safely and professionally. read more

I made a call to get valuable information about a rebate program, and the receptionist was very unprofessional and seemed completely uninterested in helping me. She sounded dismissive, did not clearly explain the details, and did not take the time to answer my questions. It felt like I was bothering her just by asking. Customer service should be informative and respectful, especially when someone is seeking clarification. read more

B & J was recommended by neighbors, and after reading about them online, I reached out for a quote. Phil came over and we walked through what needed to be done. Our palm trees required the most work. I found the quote to be reasonable based on the amount of work to be done. Phil mentioned that having a trimming once a year is the most economical way to maintain the trees instead of waiting until a lot of work had to be done on them. The crew got right down to business, and Phil was there to supervise their work. It's a pleasure to recommend them! read more

We have used B&J Tree Service for more than 20 years. We have a large lot with many large trees: Queen Palms, Eucalyptus Trees, a Rubber Tree, Fruit Trees, and one large 50+ foot tree in our front yard. They have always served us well. The are fast and efficient. They clean everything up before they leave. Phil is great! He remembers what we've had done in the past and checks on the past work as well as the current work being done. We highly recommend them!! read more

Referred by my neighbor down the street - did great work at their home. Came out and gave a quote, said OK and they came out the next day and did a great job on my Olive Trees that had not been touched in at least 10 years. This is the first time we've used B&J Tree service and they did great! Phil is very professional. Initially the soonest available appointment was a few weeks out. However, he stayed in touch with me and was able to get me in the next day. I don't expect this to happen all the time but it's good to know these guys always do their best. Once they came, they did an excellent job! We only have a couple trees but they make a big mess if we don't trim every year. Phil's team were in and out in less than 15 minutes! This included trim, clean up, and even blower for side and front porch areas. They are good dudes. Don't overthink it, just call them. read more

I feel very fortunate to have Phil, Manuel and there team trim my 2 large trees three times over the last 6 yrs. Phil gave a fair estimate, he is very approachable. Hello, This is a message from Unicorn stable, I would like to tell you about B & J Tree Service. Phil is an amazing incredible person to deal with. His foreman on the job was absolutely professional and amazing and so were all the guys that showed up. It was like having a family taking care of your home. They are by far one of the best Tree Service that My family has ever used in 50 years. This company is a company that you can feel you can trust. It was a professional, clean job, and this is a company you need to call. I highly recommend this place they not only knocked it out of the ballpark, but they had 10 home runs. Again from the bottom of my heart , thank you so much for all your kindness and your professionalism, Brenda Gilliam read more

Don't even think about using this company! I hired them to remove a couple trees, including the stumps, and they failed miserably. They used a stump grinder for at least an hour but still failed to get most of the stump. Then they covered up the remaining stump so I wouldn't see it. Don't be fooled by this company. They will cheat you. read more

Update*** the owner was able able to get ahold of me regarding the mess and blocked lines and cover those for me. I appreciate a company taking ownership to make something right. The tree trimmers came back to finish cutting and did a much better job and cleaned the mess up including from the pool. I took one star down for the lady on the phones from my first call in who was very unhelpful in this process but really appreciate Bobby making things right. read more

My mom hired B&J to trim her backyard tree and privacy hedges. It was a big job, as the tree had grown over the electrical wire. The team came and worked very quickly and listened to her thoughts and suggestions. They were also extremely cautious about getting any debris in the neighboring yards, which she was really worried about. Great service we will use them again. read more

I've used this tree service for over 10 years. Phil and his crew do an amazing job with all my trees. I recently had them remove an overgrown bamboo grove next to my driveway in a very tight space, that did a great job, they even removed the roots. Always professional and very quick. I highly recommend this company. read more

First Time Customer I found an ad on the back of Angie's List and wanted to find someone reputable yet affordable. B&J contacted me immediately and we arranged for someone to stop by and give me a proposal. At our meeting, we did a walk through and discussed trimming/services on my "want vs needs" list. And Ed-Supervisor itemized everything so that I could prioritize what I needed in order to stay within our tree maintenance budget. I feel like the pricing was competitive and the job was completed to my satisfaction and without having to be home to supervise was perfect. They followed up with me regarding payment after the job so that I didn't have to be home right when they were complete. The time frame they quoted me was also pretty accurate. It was a wham bam thank you ma'am kind of service, I appreciate their level of confidence and ability to get things done. read more

Phil, Manuel and crew did an excellent job removing 6 trees, including roots. They did a great clean-up job as well. A lot of hand labor was required since there was no room for large equipment. Their price was very reasonable. I highly recommend B&J Tree Service! read more

I explained to B&J that I would be out of town when my work was performed and if it was OK to phone in my credit card for payment. I was told "sure, no problem." When I phoned in two days later they said they were adding 3.5% to my bill because I wanted to use a credit card. When I explained I didn't want to pay the fee and would pay them when I returned in a couple days, a guy comes on the line and asks "How come you're refusing to pay us?" I explained I was given a quote for the work and that is what I expected to pay. I wasn't informed of an additional fee when I asked about the credit card. His reply was "So we get screwed because you don't want to pay" and proceeded rapidly turn into a raging you know what lecturing on that's what everyone will do in the future anyhow. Thanks but No Thanks! Will never use B&J again. read more

If you don't mind a bunch of men staring at you... Please use a different company. The employees smoke, don't have any masks on when not working, and absolutely love to stare. This company parked in my designated parking spot and when asked to move the lead guy gave such a hard time, saying he had every right to park his truck in my spot. The company claims to have informed their employees of the residential rules, regarding parking but completely ignores the rules. Just now, I walked to at my car at 2:15 to pick up my daughters from school, they are sitting next to my spot, smoking and staring at me. I come back at 2:50 and they are still sitting there, STARING. My daughter asked me why all the men are staring at us. So disgusting and unprofessional. They have zero work ethics. Please choose a different company. read more

Neighbor hired them for some work. Parked on our side of the street and stood in our lawn smoking cigarettes. I have a two year old daughter that gets dropped off and had to put her blanket over her face. I'm also pregnant so cigarettes are very offensive. Also stared at me as I go into my vehicle to go to work. Very unprofessional staff do not hire unless you like the smell of cigarettes. read more

I have Queen Palms, four of them, and they can be a drive-you-up-the-wall nuisance: the fronds expire early, and the berries that fall require A LOT of cleanup. Here's a "before" shot: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/b-and-j-tree-service-tustin?select=JiYlmAqfqfiGK3JycqhOqw#JiYlmAqfqfiGK3JycqhOqw. What an eyesore! So I searched Yelp for tree trimmers, and I came across B & J Tree Service. And, yes, I did check for a contractor's license: State Contractors Lic#540001. They've been in business since 1988. Their business on Yelp does not yet include a website address, but here it is: http://orangecountytreeco.com/. Anyway, they had yet to be Yelp-reviewed, so I gave them a call. The owner, a very personable guy, came out to my house that afternoon and gave me a quote: I'm sure it depends upon your trees, but it was $200 to trim and prune the palms and to haul away the refuse. Here's the great "after" shot: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/b-and-j-tree-service-tustin?select=JiYlmAqfqfiGK3JycqhOqw#s0dkoOjNbHoz9O13fWZGAA. Nice, right? I'm happy. The fronds are cut back and the berry clusters--I hate them--have been removed with extreme prejudice. And you know what's even better? The crew was great! They even trimmed the branches of the small tree in my front yard since they were brushing up against the house. Plus, they hauled away some trimmings that I had done on my own and that were still heaped in a pile in the backyard. I didn't even have to ask them. Great guys! By the way, I also asked for a quote concerning the complete removal of the four palms, and I found the cost very reasonable as well, considering the expansive root system that had established itself throughout the yard. So when the time comes to finally say goodbye--and believe me, it will--I'm sure I'll see them again. read more

Dec 7, 2022 @ 4:30 PM. I just want to report a case of road rage I just witnessed, displayed by someone driving your company truck. This middle aged heavy set guy with a gray beard was driving, a white truck with your logo, west on Whittier Blvd and got angry at a lady in a gray Mercedes because she blocked his ability to use the shoulder (not a lane) to turn right on Hacienda. He sat on his horn for at least 25-35 secs as the lady desperately tried to get out of his way. He squeezed by and stopped next to her and her young daughter who was in the car and menacingly stared at them. I thought he was going to get off his truck and I was ready to call the cops. I tried calling your business but there was no answer. I think you need to let your people know they are not anonymous and this behavior is not acceptable. read more
