Sent a request via Yelp. Top Unit responded with a fair quote. I replied and George wanted to see it in person for an accurate quote. Started high at $1800 but I had others come in at $800-900 range. So he price matched, and he went on explaining how he was going to make a circumference pass to totally eliminate all roots and go under a fence as I said the other bidder was going to remove the fence and get under, he said the fence didn't have to be removed, and he's going to bring all kinds of equipment and get it done right. He was persistent on coming the next day when I wouldn't be home, but I have perimeter cameras and could see the stump. They cut the stump yes, did anything else get done that was discussed NO. Partial of the stump was removed now I have to hire someone else to get rid of what is left. Not Recommended. Very Pushy. Work Not As Expected. read more

Had the pleasure of working with David and his brother George. After requesting quotes from several other tree service companies top unit came in with the best price for what I was looking to have done. ( 1 9 foot tree removal and two 20 foot tree trimming) David showed up at the agreed time and got to work immediately. After finishing he left some of the larger branches per my request for wood burning but left no other trace they were there.. even cleaned up some rubbish that was in the area. Called on a late Wednesday morning for a free estimate and in less than an hour David was at my house and ready to go. Showed him all the areas of work I was trying to get done, and David gave me a no frills price that was a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the other two companies I reached out to, so of course I said, "Say less, let's do it". I was expecting work to start the next day since it was a spur of the moment estimate, but David started work immediately and cleared out the side walkway to my backyard and all the weeds, shrubs, and fig tree back there that same afternoon. It went from a mess that my dog would get stuck in if he ventured to deep to a wide open and clean space. The next day at 8:00AM, Top Unit Tree was at my pad with their equipment in tow, trimmed down the overgrown calamansi tree I wanted to keep and completely removed and grinded down the fig tree I wanted gone. They were all cleaned up and packed away by 10:30AM.
