Sent a request via Yelp. Top Unit responded with a fair quote. I replied and George wanted to see it in person for an accurate quote. Started high at $1800 but I had others come in at $800-900 range. So he price matched, and he went on explaining how he was going to make a circular pass to eliminate all roots and go under a fence as I said the other bidder was going to remove the fence and get under, he said the fence didn't need to be removed, and he's going to bring all kinds of equipment and get it done right. He was persistent on coming the next day when I wouldn't be home. They cut the stump yes, did anything else get done that was discussed NO. They could have finished the job with a chainsaw but it wasn't even attempted, now I have to hire someone else to get rid of what is left. Not Recommended. Very Pushy. I have a huge Jacaranda tree and it needed a major trim really bad. I have been getting crazy expensive estimates. Then I spoke with George from Top Unit Tree Service and he gave me an amazing price and they came the following day! They did a major trim job! They cleared and hauled everything away! We have roses and flower beds right under the tree and they were very careful because they were all still in tact. Top Unit Tree Service went above and beyond--shout out to these local boys David and George for taking care of all my tree headaches. Called on a late Wednesday morning for a free estimate and in less than an hour David was at my house and ready to go. Showed him all the areas of work I was trying to get done, and David gave me a no frills price that was a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the other two companies I reached out to, so of course I said, "Say less, let's do it". I was expecting work to start the next day since it was a spur of the moment estimate, but David started work immediately and cleared out the side walkway to my backyard and all the weeds, shrubs, and fig tree back there that same afternoon. It went from a mess that my dog would get stuck in if he ventured to deep to a wide open and clean space. The next day at 8:00AM, Top Unit Tree was at my pad with their equipment in tow, trimmed down the overgrown calamansi tree I wanted to keep and completely removed and grinded down the fig tree I wanted gone. Had the pleasure of working with David and his brother George. After requesting quotes from several other tree service companies top unit came in with the best price for what I was looking to have done. ( 1 9 foot tree removal and two 20 foot tree trimming) David showed up at the agreed time and got to work immediately.
