Our two liquid amber trees on the side of our house grew exceptionally fast this year due to all the rain we had this past winter. Branches grew way above our roofline, grew up against the side our house, and through the telephone wires in our alley. We needed some cleaning up in our rental house's backyard to specifically cut the grass that has grown like a forest already and remove a stump that's just an eyesore there. I called Tavite and he gave me a quote right away for $450. I told him that I just wanted to get this done so whatever he quoted me, I will quote my husband $100 less. Long story short, he called my husband and they agreed to $350 when I'm actually paying extra $100. They discussed all the work that my husband wanted done which includes the backyard, front, 2 stumps, the sides of the house and the side of the garage. If I didn't pay extra $100, my husband would not want to do it. He's cheap. Tavite actually ended up charging $700, again he only quoted my husband $600. After he did the work, he told me that he actually sent his cousin to do it. So, I trusted that they did everything that he discussed with my husband, his cousin came over our house to collect the $700. I paid him cash. Next morning, my husband and his Dad went to check the house. Guess what, Tavite's crew left a lot of unfinished stuff. They didn't clean up the side of the garage which had a fence. We called and texted him and he said that it was a lot of work and that they couldn't do it. But, when he initially inspected the house, he said he can do them all for $700. It was so disappointing. He didn't even bother offering anything to compensate for it. We will never use Tavite ever. Please make sure you check the 'work' before you pay this person. He said down here he hunted me down for the payment? Are you kidding me? His cousin drove to our primary house and I handed it to him in cash... Wow! The 91 freeway is right behind our backyard wall, and the seeds of the overgrown city trees on the other side of our wall started to grow all over our slope area to the point where we needed help removing and cleaning the trees. Went on Yelp* this past Sunday evening and requested quotes from two other companies, both who have yet to respond as I'm writing this review (3 days later). Based on the stellar reviews, decided to request a quote from Tavite's Tree Service. Good move (patting my back). Got a reply in less than 15 minutes (!) to set up a free estimate the following evening, which happened to be Memorial Day. On the day of the estimate, got a confirmation e-mail asking if it's OK for the rep to be there 30 minutes (!) ahead of the appointment time, which I gladly said yes. The rep came over early, looked at the job and gave his quote. When I said it was out of my comfort zone / affordability, he worked with me on a price we both felt was fair. Once the price was agreed to by a handshake, he said he'd start first thing in the morning and would be done quick. Today, two of the workers came over by 8:15am and were all done by 10:00am. Less than two hours! They did an excellent job removing the trees along with cutting two palm trees down to the stumps, and removed most the roots. They were very thorough in cleaning and removing all the leaves, branches, etc laying around, and left the area looking good afterwards. When it was all done, we went to the backyard and they explained what they did and why they did certain things (like leaving certain roots alone to hold up the soil). This company get a 5-Star rating for 1.) The ultra-quick response to my quote request. 2.) The timeliness on the estimate meeting and job start. 3.) Willingness to negotiate to a fair price. 4.) Tavite made it very easy to do business. I contacted him via Yelp to schedule an appointment to get a bid on two large trees I needed to remove from my property. He came out Friday morning for the bid and he started work within a few hours. The trees were each mature, 30' tall trees. His crew made fast work out of it and all that was left by 5pm were stumps. He came back Monday and ground them out. The crew kept the job site safe and clean. I know a clean job site might not bother some people, but I was really pleased to see it especially since they left during the weekend and I could still let my dogs into the yard. I called Tavite's to come take a look at a tree in the backyard at my mom's house in Bellflower that was leaning and ready to fall down soon. This was right after a big rain storm with heavy winds and we got lucky that it didn't come down during the storm. Her Neighbor recently had solar panels installed and the city forced him to put some on the east facing part of his roof, which is right under the branches of this old bradford pear tree that needs to go. On top of that, my mom has a chicken coop right under the tree, and hers and her neighbors power lines run under it. Needless to say, this was gonna be a little tricky. Vite came within a half hour of me calling him and took a look at the job. He said they could handle it and gave me what I considered to be a reasonable price for the job. I asked if he was licensed and bonded, and he showed me his card with the info on it. It normally wouldn't matter that much to me, but I wanted to make sure we would be covered if there was any damage to my neighbors solar panels. He called his guys and within a couple of hours, they had the whole tree down to a Stump. They cut up the limbs and larger branches into logs for me and hauled away the smaller stuff. We were glad that they were able to take care of it for us, especially on such short notice. The most impressive part about this job was the skill with which they executed it. They just used some simple rigging and a couple of ladders and chainsaws. No bucket truck or heavy equipment, just skilled tree trimmers who know their craft. No damage was done to my mom's or her neighbors property, and we can all sleep easy knowing that the tree is no longer threatening to fall. We hired Vite's tree service twice before, first for our home and second for a rental. His price to trim two ficus trees at our home was comparable to others I received. We decided to use him primarily because he was a friend of our next-door neighbor. He was quick and efficient in trimming the two trees at our home and we were grateful for that. Four stars for that service. We reached out to him again to create a branch-free path for our new electrical line. Because we didn't want problems with Southern California Edison later, we asked him to trim some additional (non-initially agreed upon) branches and he did so, but very reluctantly.
