I had a huge tree fall around 6:30 pm and Luis at Affordable Tree Care was the only one I called which said he could get me people same day. After an initial visit the work was not up to par (one large hedge was a foot shorter than the other; no weeds were removed despite my specifying this at the time of my estimate). I asked for a second visit to correct the mistakes. This visit was made but the workers caused other problems -- knocked over a large potted tree and broke it and other plants. I didn't want them to come back at this point and asked for a discount. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And then, within twelve hours of Luis's team's second visit, I started receiving long text messages at all hours with an emotional, bizarre tone -- ranting about what nice guys the workers were and constantly demanding pay instead of addressing my direct questions. I never received an invoice or any notice that payment was due as soon as the first visit was over but Luis immediately began to escalate at all hours of day and night. That wasn't the end of it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of apologizing or answering my request for a discount -- or even respecting that I had asked him not to text me after 10 pm -- Luis sent workers to my house without asking or scheduling with me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He then sent me photographs of areas I had already cleaned (the knocked down tree, etc). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then -- and this is actual harassment -- Luis showed up in person with no warning to demand money. It was distressing and bizarre.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At this point I had asked him explicitly not to send anyone to my home without permission. I would not let him on the property and asked him several times to leave me alone. He hung around my gate and argued with me. It was incredibly unprofessional. I felt threatened and distressed. I have never had an interaction with a business like this in my life, not after five years of having various companies maintain this property. Will never use again. Update: I did pay this person, for what it's worth, and the response he gives below is exactly the kind of message he was sending me at all hours.
