Wish I'd found these folks 10 years ago! After dealing with chainsaw wielding butchers for years I'm really glad I put in the effort to find actual arborists. These folks care about my trees and shrubs as much as I do. I've had them out 2 years in a row now and both crews were polite, professional, and thorough. They actually prune the tress and shrubs as discussed ... it's extremely helpful to NOT have to keep checking to see if what was agreed to is actually what's being done! It's also nice to be able to discuss future planning with knowledgeable folks so I can keep all my yard denizens as healthy and happy as possible. Yeah, they cost a few extra dollars, but if you actually care about whether your trees are healthy it's totally worth it! read more

a very friendly Cert. Arbonist Oscar who was very knowledgeable, came by and explained everything in detail. then few days later I received a very professional quote in pdf with all their insurance info. etc. even ready to set up no parking spots on the day of for their machines and what not. very legit estimate so i was goin to use them but the timing wasn't right. anyway, if ur lookin for legit trimmers who do it by the book, this is the company. PS: they already know who ur when u call them. lol and all the ladies on the calls are super nice! read more

We hired them for fire safety clearance and some other tree trimming and what was discussed and written on the agreement was not done. I tried to reason with them, but to no avail. Crazy high prices for very, very minimal work and not doing what was verbally agreed upon and is written in the contract. Multiple times spoke with employees and owner to try to get them to come down in price since they didn't do what we agreed and was signed in the contract, but to no avail. I cannot recommend. EDITING TO ADD COMMENT ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER'S COMMENT: Nick, you never took me to court so I have no idea what you're talking about. Clearly you have this issue with multiple clients. Also my name is not Kristin or whatever you called me. This aggression is only further evidence that yours is not a business one can trust. read more

Ricardo and crew did a fantastic job. They were on time. Everyone was kind, considerate, and respectful. They were careful not to damage property. They were precise, careful, and thorough in their work. They followed Ricardo's plan exactly as he laid out and promised. The tree looks excellent. The cleanup was fantastic. read more

We had a struggling Redwood. Oscar came and told us exactly what the issues were and now it is starting to rebound. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful ... he even helped us with follow up questions. We highly recommend TreeCareLA. Thank you! read more

What a pleasure. A great company and lovely group of humans who are very good at their jobs, communicate well, and truly care about what they do. To put it in the terms that my 10 year old son uses: "10 out of 10!" From the first call with Angela - who thoughtfully listened to my questions and then paired me with Pedro, an arborist who helped me understand the possible challenges we'd face by keeping the ficus that had been planted by a previous owner. Once we decided to move forward with the job, scheduling was clear, expectations laid out in the quote, ie prep that we should do on our side, reminders, all of it so helpful to know and understand, very professional. The full crew of guys that came were fantastic, every single one of them. They were friendly, explained what they needed and what they were going to do, and they really worked together well too. It was literally over 100 degrees both days they worked on our property, and they were in good spirits despite all the sun and heat. On the second day, Manny and JJ came back to grind the large stump, and kept running into challenges, and then another guy came by to help them and also bring Gatorade. They really take good care of each other. They kept me in the loop, and let me know what was happening. And then finally Manny came back on the final day and finished the job, kept me in the loop on timing and progress, let me know what's next (how to care for the area, when to replant, etc). Manny had asked Nick what would be a suitable replacement for that space, and reported back that Nick recommended a native toyon. Now that our space is cleared, we are planting more thoughtfully with alternatives that suit our space, including natives and plants that we're excited to look at through our windows. read more

Amazing service. Booked our consult and had a walkthrough with Pedro for planning. He is super knowledgeable and professional. The office staff got us in for an early appointment on a cancellation and Hector did an amazing job. Trees look great and he cleaned everything up tidier than when he started. The whole team is outstanding and prices are competitive. They followed up after and gave us a timeline for next service. Will definitely hire again. read more

Beware. Beware. Beware. You pay a fee to have a consulation with a seemingly very nice, very knowledgeable rep. You discuss at length what is needed and approximate estimate for said service. Then you get a contract that is close to the aforementioned estimate so you sign it, thinking that the small print is what you discussed at length with the rep. They come out to 'finish' a job that was not at ALL what was described or agreed upon in the consult, and then try to charge you exorbitantly for something you could have done yourself. When you try to explain and ask for an explanation from the owner, who was not present at the consult, you get a patronizing, condescending egoist who is unwilling to listen, negotiate, or take any kind of responsibility for misinformation or misrepresenting what was verbally agreed upon. Because you 'signed a contract'. No matter that the contract was deceptive and intentionally misleading. Then, instead of trying to work with you, he sues you for double the amount, sends all 'follow ups' to a different address, except the court papers, which of course he sends to the correct address. But b/c you signed a contract, you are liable. I hope his unethical behavior comes back to him ten-fold. In this day and age when so many are struggling, beware of the snake oil this guy peddles. read more

So, this is the professional, certified, licensed, expert option. It is not the cheapest option. If you want the work done right, the first time, and you want reassurance that your neighbor's property is not going to be damaged, this is who you call. If your trees need treatment for pests or fungus, you must choose a certified arborist or you're just wasting money. Most other options for tree services around LA require you to roll the dice a bit. TreeCareLA is the safe, easy, comforting option. You will be taken care of. No BS. The price is the price and you absolutely get what you pay for. read more

Professional. Knowledgeable. Prompt. Thorough. Will continue to use them for all my tree needs.

We had TreeCareLA come take care of our trees. The trees look great and the crew was fantastic - it was inspiring to see how well they worked together and how much collaboration was involved (Go Pedro!). We truly appreciate how careful they were to avoid damage to the house and anything that wasn't a tree being pruned. Their clean-up was more than thorough and they carefully put our backyard back together. They are true experts in tree care, actual arborists, and we highly recommend them. read more

Nick has been to our house twice. He is extremely knowledgeable and his crew is great. On one tree, they actually did not trim it as much as we originally planned, because there was a nest in it and they did not want to disturb the baby inside. read more

We had TreeCare LA trim a large, old tree in our front yard. Previously some less experienced landscapers had butchered the pruning. TreeCare LA did a great job and were knowledgeable. You get what you pay for. I'd hire them again! read more

TreeCareLA is my "go-to" company for maintaining my trees. I hired them for the first time last year for my new property in Studio City. Pedro, an arborist, came to evaluate my trees. He was very knowledgeable, informative and friendly. He made some recommendations and gave me a reasonable quote for their services, which I had them do. The fellows who came to do the work were great - friendly, cheerful, respectful of my property - and they did exactly the work I had requested. I like that this company has respect for the trees and really cares about them, as well as the surrounding environment. They don't over-trim, they don't butcher. They prune with skill and a sense of aesthetics. A year after this first trim, they called me for a follow-up visit. I requested to have some dead branches removed, which they did a good job on. When they sent me the invoice, they said that, as my trees are now, it would be two years before they call for a re-visit. This is a competent and ethical company! Call TreeCareLA! read more

Nick and his team are high quality professionals. Everything went very smoothly. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Tree Care LA really knows their craft. Their arborist quickly diagnosed the issue with my olive tree, identified the insect causing the damage, and treated it right away. It was clear they know their field and care about the health of the trees they work on. Professional, knowledgeable, and efficient--I'd absolutely recommend them if you need expert tree care. read more

Tree Are LA did an amazing job trimming my hillside ash tree. They made the whole process feel easy from start to finish. The tree looks fantastic now, balanced, clean, and clearly handled with care and skill. What stood out most was how professional, fast, and tidy the crew was. They worked efficiently, cleaned everything up thoroughly, and left the area looking great. On a hillside job like this, that level of care and precision really matters. I am extremely happy with the result and would gladly recommend Tree Are LA to anyone looking for quality tree work. read more

Our beloved gardener Max recommended TreeCare LA when we bought our first home and were looking for help with the mature oaks and cedars on our property. These are the folks you want in your trees, I say this with confidence as both a homeowner and a certified California naturalist. I have learned something new about trees every single time I speak to one of their arborists! In addition to the level of knowledge I've found the degree of professionalism and friendliness to be pretty remarkable - there are sooo many tree butchers out there, and these are genuinely tree artists. If you're invested in the health and longevity of your trees this is your squad. Scheduling is easy, billing has been convenient and transparent, just an all around positive experience. read more

We had a beetle problem in our eucalyptus tree that was causing a mess down below. Oscar came out and identified the problem and gave a ton of tips for the rest of the trees around our yard too. He recommended trimming the eucalyptus tree and doing an injection to get rid of the beetles. The office scheduled us promptly and the work was done quickly and cleanly. It's only been a day but there's already been a noticeable reduction in the amount of droppings on our deck. It was a pleasure to work with everyone involved. They aren't the cheapest, but the price is WELL worth the quality they provide. They seem like they genuinely care about what they do. read more

Exceptional! Intelligent care for mature trees. Keeping their growth in check so other plants get the light they need. Having the arborist visit before booking service is very helpful in creating a master plan each year. Crew is curious, efficient and knowledgeable. read more

Tree Care LA did an amazing job. They worked on several liquid amber ash, pine, and palm trees are our home. The trees were thinned between 25 and 50% and even after removing overweight branches, dead wood, and branches overhanging our home, the trees still look full of foliage. We wanted an arborist first type tree care company that would ensure the work was not a literal hack job. They took great care in assessing each tree, the goals we had, and they got it done. I will be using them for ongoing tree maintenance in the future. read more

Yes, these guys are the real deal. Hire an arborist for your precious trees. Very organized and professional.

The TreeCareLA team did an excellent job for our multi-tree trimming job. We have many fruit trees on the property as well as a very large tree that is shared between our property and our neighbor's yard. We wanted a team with actual Arborists to check it out instead of the run of the mill landscaper/trimmer in order to get expert input on the variety of situations and to ensure prioritizing the health of the trees. Pedro did the initial consult and answered all of our questions and gave great tips on how to care for the different trees. The consult fee also went towards our trimming work, which was great. Before the trimming day, the office was fantastic about accommodating our changing schedules, coordinating parking space, and also helped us out with translating for our neighbor in order to get their consent with items relating to the large shared tree. Day of trimming, the crew showed up on time and quickly got to work. They were careful and helped move our yard furniture out of the way, and safely and efficiently took care of the trimming. Our yard was left much cleaner than when they first arrived (thank you so much!) and they were done with the full scope in just a few hours. Overall a very seamless and quality experience and we absolutely love how the overall yard feels with having all the dead branches cleaned up and the trimming done. We can't wait to host our backyard bbq under the big tree in the next week. Thanks TreeCareLA team! read more

TreeCareLA came though again with flying colors. For years Nick and his crew have taken care of our Chinese Elm, Cedar, Jacaranda, Peppermint Willow and our beloved Ficus which reached its full age span at over 100. When its time came this winter and it needed to be removed, Nick's crew completed the amazing feat of cutting it down by branch section, tying ropes one section at a time so they could be craned all the way from back to front of our Sherman Oaks home. They did this safely and efficiently and were able to save firewood, stepping rounds, some slabs for tables and even a sitting bench. The crane portion was finished in a day as promised and the stump grinding was completed the next day. We miss our great grandfather tree of course but the entire massive operation went off without incident. Thank you Tree Care LA! read more

We were not happy with the level of communication or service here, and would not hire these guys in the future. We felt there was confusion on our end regarding the scope of work, and then an unwillingness to find a solution that felt fair to both sides. At the initial consultation, the guys presented 2 possible reasons for what was going on with our tree, and our understanding was they would be excavating 2 parts to figure out what was going on. They only did one, didn't find anything, and then said the other was outside of their scope of work. The job was very expensive and we approved it based on it being a 2-part job. The invoice did not indicate there was a second option discussed that was additional money or outside the scope. When we reached out to discuss a possible adjustment to the invoice, we did not feel there was a real effort to understand where we were coming from. Needless to say, we will be taking our future business elsewhere. read more

Nick from TreeCareLA was fantastic. I brought him in to take a look at a large tree near a property line that might have been causing some issues, and he really knows his stuff. He explained everything clearly, took the time to walk me through the risks, and wrote a detailed, thoughtful report that showed he genuinely cares about tree health and safety--not just quick fixes. He was professional, easy to talk to, and clearly experienced. If you're dealing with any kind of tree or root situation where you need someone smart, steady, and thorough, Nick's your guy. Highly recommend. read more

TreeCareLA and Nick Araya should be given a special City/County of Los Angeles commendation for Exceptional Tree Stewardship. (Maybe they already have one.) I love trees & want to see them appreciated and maintained appropriately. I can get a little worked up about it, in fact. I absolutely do not allow just anyone to touch my oak tree (or any other trees or large shrubs). But TCLA are not just anyone. I hired them in either the spring of or the fall of (?) 2023 to do cuts on my coast live oak that required extra special care & expertise (and that require them to come back and do another set, actually). I already knew of their reputation and had seen the quality of their work, and I always knew they were who I would hire. I felt kind of excited and honored that they were coming to work on my oak, actually. I'm skimming over TCLA's other reviews as I write this. If mine is too long for you, go read those. They are equally glowing but probably much shorter. And I don't know that I'm saying anything that hasn't already been covered. I'm just throwing my (long form) recommendation on the pile. Have you been to their website? It may be the most worthwhile, helpful website I've seen from any contractor I've ever worked with (and they have a great Instagram, too). Plenty of people don't really know what an arborist does (I didn't). I would guess quite a few have never even heard of one. TCLA is definitely aware of this, and I think their site will clear up any questions you have. If you're not convinced that they are worth contacting by looking through their many photos of the kinds of work they do every day, go to the section called "News." "News" has links (and excellent mini previews) to at least 19 times TCLA has been quoted or interviewed in all kinds of media, from March 2025 back to 2006. The list includes The LA Times, The NY Times, NPR, a local newsletter, and at least one podcast, among others. I think I noticed something from Yale. I like the one from Spectrum News1, July 2021, because it includes a video. I think the quality of their website shows how proud they are of the good work they do, and demonstrates how much both trees and their customers matter to them. LA has no shortage of people who can prune trees or cut them down, or even *qualified* people who do this, and it doesn't lack certified arborists. There are other exceptional arborists in LA; they consult, assess, and/or provide legal attestations. But if you need tree work, they are usually one-person operations, and they don't do that. TCLA are arborists who do all of that on top of an extremely broad range of tree work, and they have more than just one or two people available to complete that work. (They also do tree maintenance, FYI; I'm amazed at the many things that can be done to and for trees to make them even more beautiful and keep them in good health.) A sizable knowledgeable and qualified team isn't easy to come by. TCLA are professional; they are certified in multiple tree practices; they have great ATTITUDES. They have the right equipment (!) and their own LADDERS (!). (! Their own ladders!) They know how to safely and responsibly do dangerous things high up in trees. They know about power lines and what's an issue and what's not an issue. They recognize the importance of keeping peace with the neighborhood (they have a template on their site you can give your neighbors so that "Billy" next door won't come running into your backyard screaming about trust on a Saturday morning [happened to me]). Also, when you call TCLA, someone REALLY NICE ANSWERS the phone. Yelp's review-quality bot indicates I should address the value of TreeCareLA's services. Do I think the cost for TCLA's work and/or advisement is a value? Emphatically yes. Their flat fee for a consultation is in line with current rates for certified arborists. And while estimates will depend on the nature of what needs to be done, I believe them to be fair and honest. They're not ripping you off or telling you your tree needs work it doesn't. Only you can decide if a quoted amount is something you are able or willing to pay. If you don't like the quote, get another. I've now had enough experiences where I can say with conviction that great work is pretty much commensurate with great skill. I don't have the patience anymore to put up with a ton of stress just to maybe save a few bucks. (I just made it through a really bad two weeks with an electrician, and if I could go back in time, I would say to him, "you know what? I think I'd rather pay *more money* for these services. Thanks, but no thanks.") Nick and his crews know their worth, and they do not have to take any less. Good luck with your trees and may you never experience a topping. read more

Tree Care LA was great! They were kind, communicative and appeased my serious concerns to leave any nests, if found.
