I had an unsightly tree stump in my front yard that I wanted removed. I am a "git 'r done" kind of guy and normally do things like this myself; however, I thought I would just see what someone would charge me to do this for me. I called around to 4 or 5 places and of those, My Tree Experts were the only ones to respond at all. Their response was timely as well. I arranged for an estimate and the guy showed up on time. He was very professional and gave me a quote that was far less than I thought it would be. The price was completely reasonable, so we came to an agreement and scheduled them for 2 days out. Their crew showed up on time and were also very professional. No joke, the majority of the crew left 15 minutes after they started as they bulk of the stump was gone and they had removed the wood chips and cleaned up. The guy on the stump grinder stayed to finish doing his part, including grinding a few feet outside of where the stump came out of the ground. This was done to make sure I had level ground where it had previously been raised by the roots. He even packed down the area for me. I found My Tree Experts on Yelp and was impressed with their 5.0 star rating. Now that I have used them, I can see why they are rated 5 stars: they are fantastic! I had them and 2 other tree cutting companies (that I first screened on Yelp) out to my house to see about removing a large Queen Palm palm tree because it was on my grass and I wanted to have it removed to get artificial grass put in and not have to worry about having to water the palm tree. Efran came out initially to give me the estimate and I was impressed both with his good price but most of all how he assured me that they'd take good care of my yard when removing the palm and not hurt my children's swing-set (located right next to the palm tree that needs removed) and also I have glass railings as my fence for my yard and I was concerned about them getting hurt. I also liked how Efran told me they would go as deep as possible with their small stump grinder (still good size, but their large one wouldn't fit though my side gate to get into my yard) and could go down about 6 inches and remove all the roots of the palm so the soil would be all ready for when the artificial grass is installed. On the day of the job, Martin (Efran's brother so he was a trusted supervisor as well) came out to supervise the crew of workers. Martin went over the project with me which I appreciated and then the guys got to work. I also liked how Martin was honest and when I asked him about if another palm tree needed trimmed he told me "no, it didn't" so that way Martin saved me money and didn't try to sell me work that didn't need done. I thought that showed a lot of professionalism and integrity! First the workers put wood around my glass walls and carefully moved my lighting and other above-ground-drip-irrigation out of the way of where they'd be cutting. Then one worker climbed up the palm tree and chain-sawed off the palm fronds and then started cutting the trunk into little cylinder logs and carefully dropped them down to the ground being careful not to damage anything - which I appreciated! Then they used the stump grinder, as promised, and got rid of the stump and all those finger-like-roots that palm trees have. Then Martin showed me the finished work and the guys used the blower and rake and cleaned up my yard a bit. All done! Overall, I am super happy with Efran, Martin and the crew of My Tree Experts! This year I decided to try someone different and boy am. I glad I did. First off they bring several people; one person is the climber, who gets up in the tree and actually does the trimming. There were two other people who helped clean up the branches and leaves as they fell. They also bring an enormous tree mulcher, which has never happened before. He went out the next day for an estimate and the price was more than reasonable. Day of the job, the stump grinder broke down and he couldn't finish the job. He communicated the issue and gave me a two weeks timeline for the work to start up. I was fine considering the situation. fast forward two weeks later, he called and showed up to complete the job. The stump grinder that broke wasn't done being fixed but because he had promised me that he will finish my project within two weeks, he borrowed a machine to have it done on time. Great service. Owner gave a quote, their team then was right on time for appointment and the workers were detailed and respectful. I had few trees cut from trunk, some branches trimmed and added few additional things to list on day of. Their equipment made it easy for the hauling- i saved money because they just used the wood chipper to turn into mulch. I found My Tree Experts working in front of my office removing trees for our neighbors. I approached them and asked for an estimate for tree trimming on our side of the office. Martin gave a very reasonable price and scheduled me for later that week. They showed up on time and started the job. Martin was very professional. I then asked about a eucalyptus which I wanted removed from my home. Once again, his estimate was very reasonable. It was the lowest of 3 estimates I received. Martin and his crew showed up at my house and removed the eucalyptus. I was concerned that they may cause damage to my neighbor's cars below. My neighbor was out of town for a couple weeks and I could not get in contact to move the cars. Martin's crew were very careful by covering the cars. One of the palm trees in our backyard has grown very close to the wall between us and our neighbor, so much so that it is damaging the wall, and it was getting very close to the power lines above. I jumped on yelp and tried for the first time the project feature where I input the information (what do i need done, how many trees, do I need additional service to remove the tree once it was cut down, the preferred day or time of day for the work to be done, and option to attach photos) and yelp sent it to 5-10 local yelp places accepting new jobs. Like I mentioned, it was the first time using this feature, but it was very handy! The places replied pretty quickly (within the first couple of hours) with additional questions or quotes. I needed 1) the tree to be removed 2) if possible, the stump to also be removed as I didn't want it to grow back but I learned that if they grind it to the floor then the palm tree will not grow back 3) haul away as it's a pretty big tree and it would not fit in a compost bin. My Tree Experts were one of the quickest to get back to me and answered all of my questions, like how long would it take, etc etc. They were also the cheapest. I sent the same photo to everyone for a quote and I got anywhere from $500-$900. Efren messaged me if it was possible for him to come and see the tree, because he was worried it being so close to the wall that it would be difficult for the removal. We set a time and he was very professional. He told me the tree was larger than what he had expected (since I took the photo a couple month back) and it had grown but it was still possible to get it removed to the stump. He told me it would be a bit cheaper if I gave cash, but he had availability later on that day and it would take about 1.5-2 hours to get it done. I had to call my husband to update him, and I mentioned that I didn't have the cash with me today but I can run to the ATM before he comes back to do the work. But he said that was fine, he can come by later today and just come back the following week to pick up the cash. I loved them being flexible so I didn't have to run out to the ATM. He told me his brother Martin will come by later to get the job done. Martin came with a crew of about 4 or 5 people right on time. They got the job done in about 1.5 hours and had a parked chipper truck in the front where they were able to remove the tree and have it break down the stump on the spot. They did a great job cleaning up the area and left with no issues. I was impressed with the work and happy the process was so quick! read more
