A ficus(?) tree in my yard's encroachment over the fence was too much for my next door neighbor, so I set out to find someone who could trim it. Since the neighbor was in contact with their insurance, it was imperative that the crew performing this work was also adequately insured. The pool of landscapers that are ACTUALLY contracted for tree work was already small, and it was even harder to find someone who would confirm their insurance, so I was lucky to find Sal, who came out and gave me a free and reasonable estimate. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was beyond frustrating and completely unprofessional. Communication with this tree service has gone downhill. He only responds to calls and texts when it's convenient for him, and even then, he doesn't follow through. He told me he would call back--never did. On the day of our appointment, he showed up 15 minutes late, only to leave shortly after because he had another appointment. Apparently, my scheduled time wasn't important. I arrived on time, and when I stepped away briefly (less than 15 minutes), I came back just 2 minutes after he arrived. I immediately told him not to leave and that someone was at the property he could speak with--but he ignored that and left anyway. After that, he completely stopped responding to my calls. To make matters worse, he later claimed he had been there at the exact appointment time (10:30), which is simply not true--I have texts and call logs to prove otherwise. It's unfortunate because I've used him for years, but his professionalism has clearly declined. Between poor communication, showing up late, refusing to take accountability, and drastically increasing prices, I'm done. Good riddance. Totally unprofessional experience with Premier Tree Experts. They gave me a quote through Yelp, but after that, all my follow-up messages were ignored. I had to call them directly to even try to schedule. I was told they'd "check the schedule and get back to me" -- they never did. I got 4 men who gave an in person quote. All were different. I found it amusing in a way until 1 guy talked to me for 45 Minutes about his life. plus his estimate was $900 over everyone else. He was just not the kind I wanted working for me. I know all about the construction gig, and car gigs. My husband is a blue collar worker. So, I knew the type of situation I would be happy with. Sal, straight up gave the lowest quote of them all. Had almost gave the job to another company but was a unsatisfied with a an additional $150 to clean something thought of later, and a wait of a week. Felt that was a bit intentional. Then I realized I wanted a company that was in my own city to support important businesses. It was set up the next day, and I'm like, okay. A lot of guys came in the beginning, then half left, while the others finished up. Got it cleaned up within half a day. Nothing in neighboring yards. Not one complaint. Contacted this company early in the week a few weeks ago and they came out quickly for a free estimate. Sal was professional and quick with the quote. Written quote was provided by the end of the day. He said he was available that Saturday to do work in the afternoon within a 1 hour window. At the end of the first window he texted they were running late and bumped it out an hour. At the end of the second window he texted to cancel as their job was running behind. We then settled on another date the next week during the work day. I took time off work and was home at the designated appt (2pm). The crew was a no show and did not contact that there was any issue with the appt. I then texted Sal that we would no longer be interested due to the communication and he still has not responded.
