The people at AZ Fireman Movers make moving an almost pleasant experience. First of all, the office staff answers the phone when you call, or they return your call within a very reasonable time. They are very pleasant and accommodating. We opted to have 3 movers and they showed up at the arranged time. Couldn't ask for nicer guys! They moved our 3000 sq ft house, plus patio furniture and two grills to our storage unit in less than four hours. Once they started, they never quit until the job was done. My son was moving out into his own place and we needed a mover. It was a typical 2 bedroom condo move. I called the typical well known companies but decided to try AZ Firemen on a recommendation. I also liked their mission statement about using firemen and military on their crews. In short, they met all expectations with flying colors. If you read my reviews, I don't do fives. Fortunately, my wife asked a coworker who she used. I'd been researching another company. Frankly, I'm a bit of a tightwad. People have said moths fly from my wallet, and yes this company is a little more expensive than some others. The cost is reasonable, and not out of line. We had information and tips before the move. The men who showed up were excellent, professional, nice people. They were prepared and efficient. I didn't have to watch them like a hawk, nothing was broken nicked or cut, except one of the men who badly pinched his finger on a glider. No walls were marred in either house. I really didn't have to watch them at all, you could tell these men are trustworthy. At the end of the day, actually at midday, we decided to tip them. They seemed surprised about that. When the truck was finished being loaded, a large pile of covers had not been used. I questioned the lead man (who did all the arranging in the truck) but I was assured everything was covered very well. Based on the many, many scrapes, gouges, breaks and other damage to my furniture evident when it was unloaded, that was not the case. Also, they had loaded four wardrobe boxes (which are large but very lightweight) on the bottom. Then, because many other boxes and things were placed on top of the wardrobe boxes, they were crushed which caused everything on top of them to fall, shift and create even more damage. While all three men were friendly, quick, and provided the muscle labor I needed, I would never recommend them unless you would be able to watch every single piece being loaded to assure they were properly protected. read more

What a blessing these guys were. We hired them to move all of our furniture and appliances. The price was great and they were easy to work with. Very professional and just got in there, humped up and got the job done even an hour earlier than we had figured. They came in with their own large truck, plenty of pads, blankets, wraps and dollies. We used AZ Firemen to load our truck to move from Phoenix to Denver. Our experience seemed to go fine, until arrival at our new house in Denver. We opened the trailers to find everything coming down like an avalanche. Numerous errors were made. The crew packed furniture on top of furniture with no padding between. They broke a shelf by piling boxes of tile on the shelves. They put garden tools and metal objects on top of wooden furniture without pads. They used our two flat screen TV's as partitions to hold up other heavy furniture. They didn't use the cargo straps we provided them and did not tell us when they ran out of furniture blankets. We were willing to go buy more blankets at Harbor Freight. We provided 20, and would have bought as many as they needed at $2 a blanket as opposed to having all of my furniture ruined. Even worse though was their response to this issue. I was told "Our responsibility ends when the truck doors are closed." Well, had the truck been loaded correctly, that would have been fine. They then tried to say it was my fault. Really? To suggest that I went into two 27 foot trailers and removed all the furniture blankets and cargo straps, is just preposterous. I can understand things go wrong for any business, but the businesses response determines the type of company they are, and in this case they fail. read more

They handled the move of my mother in law from her home in Phoenix to an apartment in northern California, including moving her car on a flat bed trailer (for $300 less than a car moving firm). They even reduced their cost by $500 by figuring out how to handle the move with one man rather than two (firemen are strong!). I purchased a new treadmill and curbside delivery was the only option, so I need someone to help me move the treadmill to upstairs and put the machine together. Reasonably priced and very friendly! My movers showed up on time and were helpful in getting everything moved in a timely manner - I don't know if I ever saw them take a break. They didn't seem to have a lot of "normal" packing supplies (like blankets or padding) to use when moving my furniture, but everything still arrived safely. Do not call this company they are absolutely the worst movers you can find. I used them twice before this move. One move had mixed results the other was a complete disaster. The only reason I gave them another shot was because I respect what they do in their real jobs and my wife's kind heart. They showed up for this move with a very long trailer and a large pickup truck. Not they truck I was promised. Where I live we have small lots and the rig was so long that they totally block my neighbors drive way. I told them this was not allowed in my neighbor and that blocking my neighbors drive was was not an option. They kept telling me that they do this all of the time, and if asked they would stop working and move the truck. I told them no blocking driveways was not allowed. They could have moved the truck back about 12' which granted would have made the job harder but they refused. So on my move date I am at a standoff with my movers, I had no choice but to asked them to leave, which I did after verbal battle. I ask for my deposit back and that request was denied. They claim they came ready to move. Not so! Worst movers I have ever used. Marty you must be living in a dream world your divers never offered to reposition the trailer attach to the very large pickup truck and never offered to notify my neighbor about blocking the driveway. Just about everything you stated never happened. Your guys blue it now return my $155 deposit. read more

While pleasant the trailer used was not bug enough. They tried to fit everything into one load which damaged quite a few pieces of furniture. I did not notice fir several days as I began unpacking. They also ding my wall and attempted to defer repair or compensation to the builder's 30 day follow up. Cost over 1k for damaged furniture some that will need to be replaced. I would not use unless your move us small. Otherwise use someone else. read more

Very impressed with AZ Firemen Movers. They made our very stressful day a little less by the professionalism and quality of work they demonstrated throughout the day. Mike, James, Johnnie and Pete were awesome and did anything I asked of them moving furniture, leveling washer/dryer, etc... I appreciated the extra attention they took to things. A firm believer of "you get what you pay for" I had no problem paying there fees especially post move. They also were somewhat flexible with scheduling and understanding of our moving day situation. It is unfortunate to have to write this review. We called 5 moving companies and received exact quotes- AZ Firemen being one of them. We were quoted $180 for the initial fee with $118 an hour for three movers. We decided to go with them so called back to schedule. When we called back, we were told the $180 was being upped to $205. When we asked why we were told $180 as an exact quote less than a week earlier- they said they hadn't written our address down so had quoted it wrong. However, we had written it down since we were getting a legitimate quote. It is not the customers fault your associates quoted the move wrong nor is it on your customer to do the documentation. There was zero accountability that they quoted it wrong. The owner blamed the customer for remembering the incorrect number and thinking the quote was legitimate. Tried to gain our business based on false numbers- we will not be going with them as there is no guarantee they will not add in additional fees later on a second time. read more

This is a long one, but there was too many good things I didn't want to leave out! First of all I researched a lot of companies read tons of good and terrible reviews. I was unbelievably confused with what company to go with. I had chosen a company six months ago based of decent reviews and boy was I let down. We sold our home and had to stay with family until our new house was done. So moving twice was already a pain. I was super apprehensive about even hiring movers again. Then I called AZ Firemen Movers. I was kinda overwhelmed with all the questions about the move, I even thought this is a little crazy but I realized how important it was for them to know what to expect to give me the best quote possible and not take longer than expected. It's actually very smart to do this and it says a lot about a company if they want a good description that way they can prepare the best they can. Most companies send people out and don't even care then u pay WAY more. These guys are amazing, I probably should have led with that, they were fast and super friendly. They didn't sit around or take breaks or move slow. They came prepared! I can't stress enough how pleasant Dom and Kevin both were! They had all the right tools and even little ramps for ur door way that make the move quicker. Cindy and Sherrie (sorry if I spelled that wrong) were awesome as well, very informative and explained things well. They assured me that their guys would show and be ready to work (the last company I used showed up unprepared didn't even have shrink wrap and asked ME to go buy some! Also took their sweet time!) Dom and Kevin finished early saved me money and took my horribly packed storage unit and moved it to my new house and into our garage really nicely I was amazed! Can't say enough good things. When you have had horrible experiences with everyone you deal with you learn to be super appreciative of the good experiences! They were so efficient, professional and fast. Once in Colorado, there was some trouble with the place they were supposed to move to. Josh and Matt were so flexible. My parent actually could not move to the original place and we had to find another apartment ASAP. We found another place that same day. As my parents were doing paperwork they were moving all my parent's belongings into their new apartment. Completely disappointed with this company. I really liked the premise of using firemen/military, and I didn't mind paying a bit more compared to some other companies. It was almost impossible to reach someone. Any responses were sporadic at best. The week of our move they finally sent us an email after 3 days of no responses. The best part? All of a sudden they were booked solid for the next two weeks. I really wanted to like this place, but the terrible service has turned me away for good. This was my best moving experience ever!!! Marty, Ryan, Ryan, and Damien were professional, courteous, punctual, and quick. We moved from an apartment in one location and a storage unit in another to a house in a third location and they took care of everything. These guys unloaded our moving truck for us. They showed up right on time, were courteous and easy to work with. Our treadmill was a pain to get in through a bedroom doorway and they got the job done to get it in the room we wanted. My realtors heard rave reviews about this company and encouraged me to call. I was thrilled to support our Firemen and Military. When she found out I wanted to move on the first Monday after Thanksgiving holidays, I was told the guys didn't like to work around the holidays... She said someone would call me back the next day to let me know if they could do it. I also sent a request by internet. I guess simple calls back are too much trouble for this business if they aren't going to service you. Never heard back and I called 3 days in a row, no answer.
