So this time, my anxiety was on HIGH ALERT. I was expecting disaster. Instead? I got the Avengers of moving. Day 1: Packing -- Enter Bryan, Antonio, & Johnny These three walked in like absolute professionals -- calm, respectful, not fazed by anything -- and immediately took control of the situation in the absolute BEST, most important way possible. They wrapped, sorted, labeled, and boxed my entire life with more care than I give my own children's artwork. They checked in when it mattered ("Do you want to keep this here?" "Should this go in the new pantry?"), but not in that annoying "I need guidance on every teaspoon" way. THEY JUST GOT IT. The perfect balance of independent and in-sync with me. And they worked. THE. ENTIRE. TIME. No breaks. No disappearing acts. No leaning on walls pretending to think. Just nonstop competence, kindness, integrity and respect. Day 2: Moving -- Add James & Daniel to the Squad Five movers total. Five absolute beasts. Five men who moved my entire house like they were in some kind of synchronized Olympic event I didn't know existed. They were lifting, gliding, maneuvering furniture through impossible angles like magicians. They protected my floors, my walls, my sanity -- everything. They placed things exactly where I wanted them without needing a map, a diagram, or 600 questions. And!! They asked just enough to keep me involved without pulling me into any chaos. At one point, I literally had a moment where I thought: "Is this... fun? Is moving ACTUALLY going well?" I didn't know that was possible. Quality over Quantity. Every. Single. Time. Tim and his staff were very gracious in being able to help me twice in essentially the same week for both moves I had, going to and from the same locations. I appreciate him and his company for their help and I plan on reaching out if I ever end up having another domestic move here in the future! As a side note, he charges/quotes based on the furniture you have over hours of service. I found this to be cheaper than other companies out there (especially if you just have one room of furniture like I did) so he's really nice for smaller moves like mine and I recommend him as well because of this. He even helped my mom take an old TV stand to consignment for us which was very much an appreciated favor of his company with the original job and furniture that I had with him.

All of the big name interstate movers turn down small sized interstate moves. I must have called 12 different movers; which included the well known companies and some of the smaller ones. The local companies are happy to take your business for intrastate moves; but not interstate moves. I was concerned when no contract was required by Brandon. However, this guy can be trusted to perform what is agreed upon with just using text messaging. He is also very careful with fragile pieces; taking great care in delivering them in one piece. Some movers suggested shipping our boxes. However, this is not an inexpensive option. Plus ,unlike Brandon, who carries your boxes out of the unit and into your destination ( we have three levels ); the usual shippers require delivery to the store and drop off at the eventual destinations front stoop. It took them an hour just to take apart my king-size bed. The day before, a friend and I moved all 70 boxes ourselves in about five hours total, including loading and unloading. I hired the movers only for the large furniture: a king-size bed, two nightstands, a dresser, a bench, a 65-inch TV, a TV stand, a sofa, a coffee table, and an end table. Moving those items just four miles took them 6.75 hours, which is what I was billed for. After the first hour and a half, they had only taken apart the bed and moved the mattress downstairs. I asked why it was taking so long because it honestly felt like they were dragging their feet. Had I known they weren't actually firefighters, I never would have hired them. I chose this company because my neighbor had used them a few months earlier. I watched that move, and they were in and out very quickly. She also told me nothing was damaged, which gave me confidence in hiring them. Although I was frustrated with how long the move took, I still tipped them 10% using my credit card. I was then surprised to learn there was a 4% credit card processing fee. Since Square charges businesses 2.6% plus 10 cents per transaction, I felt that passing along a 4% fee was excessive, so I deducted that amount from the tip. They used Square to process my transaction. As a small business owner in Scottsdale, I understand the cost of processing credit cards. While I would not use this service again. I was also disappointed that the company's name implied the movers were firefighters when they were not. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. I was charged two hours of travel time coming and going to my place when they were getting ready to leave I googled travel time back to surprise and it said 43 minutes I was billed for an hour when I said something he said that they were going past Surprise to the yard that they had to return the truck too. Response to the owners reply The bed has hex screws holding it together, so the only reason it would be difficult to take apart is if you didn't have the proper tools. The fact that you wish you could provide bulky, glistening calendar movers has absolutely nothing to do with anything I wrote in my review or with the efficiency of the movers. I want to be a billionaire, but that doesn't mean I'm going to become one. Likewise, using a name that gives people the impression they are supporting local firefighters is misleading. I see that you don't take constructive criticism well. I stand by my original review and was simply sharing my honest experience.

I was looking for a recycling center that accepts soda cans, soda glass bottles and plastic water…read morebottles. This place only accepted my soda cans. They just don't accept plastic or glass bottles here. This place looks like a dump but the customer service is very fast and efficient. Most of the workers here are Spanish speaking so hopefully you can make out what they tell you. My Spanish is Sykes rusty so I only understood 5% of what they said. All in all, this was a pleasant experience. Obviously, you're not gonna get rich by recycling anything but it does give you some pocket change to maybe buy a lottery ticket or two. I don't recall what the exact redemption value was for bringing in your unwanted cans for cash but I got around 50 cents for maybe 1.5 lbs of soda cans. Almost enough for a $1 lottery scratcher. The workers here will unload your trunk for you and weigh it all and than give you the proper amount of money. Fast service and you don't even need to lift a finger besides opening your trunk that is. I'm from Hawaii and back home, you can actually pay a utility bill or cell phone bill with your recycling money. Not here in Phoenix, it's a totally different process here so I'm gonna start trashing all my recyclables instead. Hope this helps my fellow planeteers!!

They were professional and careful, prioritizing the furniture first to ensure it reached Goodwill safely before loading the debris. Garrett was clear about a few hazardous items they couldn't take (which I appreciated knowing upfront). The pricing was reasonable given how much needed to go. I only wish I had called them sooner--highly recommended!

Roy and his crew are reliable, efficient and true PROFESSIONALS at what they do! They are competitive in pricing and there is never any hidden costs. For a reasonable fee they were also able to transport our baby grand piano, preventing the need to reach out to another company for that service. I've never had anything damaged as they are experts at loading and unloading every item and ensuring they are taking care of your possessions. Excellent communication throughout the process. Roi and his crew were absolutely awesome, in helping me move from 2100 sq. ft. down to 1,000 sq. apt and garage for a temporary move, as house I was going to purchase fell thru.Stressful time made less so, because Roi was right on with determining space and how to handle things going into storage in garage. If I could give Above and Beyond Moving 10 stars I would!!!! They were fantastic!!! Michelle was wonderful to work with on scheduling and rescheduling. The team, Roy and Harold were fabulous!!! I have an injured back and can barely bend down or lift. They took care of everything exactly as I asked! I have many antique pieces one hundred or more years old, great care was used at all times. One piece an 1880's Belgian armoire required disassembly and reassembly which was done very professionally. I highly recommend that you USE this company! You WILL NOT be disappointed! read more

There was little to no organization to some of it at the end. We accomplished the unloading in just over 3 hours with 3 people who are used to the heat and 2 who were very definitely not. I was also disappointed that the company's name implied the movers were firefighters when they were not. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. I was charged two hours of travel time coming and going to my place when they were getting ready to leave I googled travel time back to surprise and it said 43 minutes I was billed for an hour when I said something he said that they were going past Surprise to the yard that they had to return the truck too. Response to the owners reply The bed has hex screws holding it together, so the only reason it would be difficult to take apart is if you didn't have the proper tools. The fact that you wish you could provide bulky, glistening calendar movers has absolutely nothing to do with anything I wrote in my review or with the efficiency of the movers. I want to be a billionaire, but that doesn't mean I'm going to become one. Likewise, using a name that gives people the impression they are supporting local firefighters is misleading. I see that you don't take constructive criticism well. I stand by my original review and was simply sharing my honest experience.

Just to see, I spent a day calling around for quotes. Some places wanted nearly $300/hr plus a long laundry list of hidden fees, and I thought there was no way it was worth it. But the last company I called was Sterling Interstate, and wow--what a breath of fresh air. We had already dealt with a lot of stress while closing on our first home, and we just needed a reliable team to cross the finish line. The moving industry doesn't always have the best reputation, so I was praying they'd be good--and they turned out to be the absolute best. Not only is their hourly rate very fair for the quality of work, but they also don't hit you with random fees. My husband and I had our home 95% packed and stacked, leaving them to navigate moving everything down a flight of stairs and prepping/packing the larger furniture. Since this was our first time hiring movers, we were blown away: they wrapped and packed everything like it was going cross-country! Even knowing it was only a 15-minute drive, they took zero chances with damage, and everything arrived completely untouched. I am terrible with names, so I've already forgotten the exact crew who came out, but they were AMAZING. On a brutally hot and humid July day in Arizona, they hustled nonstop for 6.5 hours. They took necessary breaks, but they worked so hard, all while cracking jokes with us and keeping the mood light. By the time they left, it felt like saying goodbye to old friends. Pro tip: If you hire movers in the AZ summer, please be kind--offer them cold water, sports drinks, and maybe some Rice Krispies Treats to keep them going! What really stood out was how careful and methodical they were--making sure nothing was damaged during the process, especially with something as awkward and heavy as a full-body mount. They communicated well throughout, took their time where it mattered, and still got everything done quicker than expected. Not sure how these hack criminal movers got four stars. They presented as "nice guys"…read more"professionals" and yet their negligence and shoddy job just caused over $5,000 worth of damage. I provided 200' of rope and they told me they didn't need to tie anything down because "the van was packed tight!" Umm wrong! They knew I was traveling 1800 miles across 7 states. Because of their shitty work, nearly every single piece of furniture I own was scratched or damaged. They were so proud they fit everything on, only they didn't tell me that they basically threw my stuff in as though it were garbage going into one giant trash can. Unbelievable! I've filed complaints with multiple state agencies because of their negligence and the damage they caused. Additionally James stood next to me and strong-armed me into inputting the payment code because the job was "done." What they don't tell you is you don't have to input the payment code until you arrive and see it went ok, which in my case, it clearly did not. So they got paid for a hack job. Lastly, $140 went missing from my wallet while they were there. My bad - I hid my purse in the closet and forgot to lock the door.

We got the storage pods delivered to the house and started packing everything nonessential, then called Small Time Moving. We explained to James our situation and he was very understanding and accommodating. The moving crew arrived and packed everything into the pods that we didn't need. They did a stellar job in organizing each pod and maximizing the space in each. The night before the pods were to be picked up, James and crew came back a second time to pack up the essentials that had to remain out until the last minute. I thought it was an amazing level of customer service that they would be willing to show up on two separate days in consideration of our special circumstances. My family and I appreciate the professionalism, dedication and awesome customer service of Small Time Moving and when we move again, I'm asking if they'll make a special trip to New Mexico to pack us up again! They should come out and assess the move though on the phone I advised what I had. The owner grouched and complained most of the time. He also hated my plants and squished stuff I expressly advised I would take in my car into boxes resulting in some broken items and I had to spend hours on the back end to find my computer they had packed unnecessarily. They do not use a tall proper moving truck but rather a closed trailer and a large pickup truck which would be OK bu they do not bring wardrobe boxes for transfer, plastic wrap or strapping. The truck is full of pads but I think they only used two. I paid over 700.00 for a 6 mile move from an apartment to a house. When the owner wears a shirt that bears a banner "gratuities appreciated" you should know you're in trouble. Normal people know to tip for service. It took over 8 hours to move in and I paid for their short lunch break then was subject to an icy departure. I don't appreciate it when movers have commentary about my stuff or elect to "call it a day" when they decide they are done and don't want to move the last minute stuff like a shovel, broom and shed items. If I am paying you 75.00 an hour, you should move what I want you to move. Nothing exceptional or ridiculous in weight. They will also not move lamps - - any other mover brings boxes or is able to move lamps, I move every 2 years so I'm used to the process. On closeout, there were more complaints that my cheque was drawn on a certain bank because he gets charged 8.00. SPECIFY YOUR TERMS AT ONSET. Do I have cash?....WHO CARRIES 700+ IN CASH (for a move that should have cost 400) and they don't do credit cards? Thankfully, this business will be closing soon as the owner will be moving out of country. I am really irritated as this was a referral and it was a prolonged, expensive and irritating experience.
