Popular coffee spot in OC - went on a Tuesday morning & there was still a line! Parking is easy - big parking lot. The shop is structured as a grab & go coffee spot- no indoor seating. You line up in front & get called to order & pay then wait for your drink outside. Workers were friendly & efficient! less than 5 min wait for my drink despite the growing line. It would be a perk if they had a seating area though (we need more 3rd spaces!!!). I got the coconut water matcha cream & I like how they used pink coconut water (iykyk!!) & the matcha cream was nice & consistent! I liked how refreshing this drink was! I would come back if I'm in the area again!
Saturday morning, 12pm, line is about a 10-15 minute wait but it goes by fast. First visit here, wasn't sure what to order but decided that we will do one coffee and one matcha. Pumpkin Pie Matcha 5/5 - the pumpkin sauce pairs well with the matcha once mixed. Matcha has a great color and taste. I would have added a cream top but forgot. Banana Coffee 3.5/5 - I have had banana coffee in the past at other places but I'm not sure how to feel about this one. I did feel it was bitter and has a weird after taste. My husband liked it and also pointed towards it nuttiest taste with the toffee. Since it's his drink here is his rating - 4.5/5 I think it comes down to your love for bananas lol
You can taste the quality and strength of the coffee and savor the slight sweetness, creaminess, and slight saltiness of the drink. Most people in the line are there for the matcha, so plan to try that next time. I do see them stirring the fresh matcha rigorously. Arrive early, as the line gets longer the later you come in the morning. The line does move pretty fast. Service is quick.
Finally got to try Ayer because the line is usually long when we pass by, but today we had the time to wait. Ordered the mango matcha, matcha two, salted saigon, and salt bread. The matcha two and salt bread were solid, but the salted saigon tasted fantastic. The mango matcha didn't taste as expected, but maybe it's because mango isn't in season. I personally wouldn't get it again. Overall Ayer was good, but will definitely need to come back to try other matcha drinks. The line usually goes out the door so definitely recommend coming early. They will call you when to come in and order, otherwise it'd be way too crowded inside. Ambiance: There is no seating inside the cafe so you just come and pick up your drink/bread and leave. Only salt bread is offered food wise.
I waited 45 min on a Friday afternoon for a drink, which I had anticipated because of the long line. The parking lot is spacious & there are several reminders to not block the entrance of other businesses. The pumpkin matcha was great, but it doesn't justify the wait as it has a similar flavor to other coffee shops. They also give a complimentary tote bag, if you ask! I also got a blueberry matcha, not pictured here, but it was overly sweet. The interior is small & you cannot study inside. It is mainly just grab & go. The music was great! Not sure when I will be back, but I look forward to trying other items!
Always a line here, but it moves pretty fast! Usually only takes about 10-15 minutes. The matcha has a strong, rich flavor, and you can tell it's good matcha just by looking at that beautiful green color. Parking is easy too, and I love the girls working here! They're so sweet. The store is a little small, but super cute and cozy! Definitely worth the wait.
As someone in OC I had to see what the hype was about - 35 min later in 100° weather, I finally found out! Honestly just as good as I expected. The coconut water matcha cream was sooo good. So refreshing with great quality matcha cream. The color was gorgeous and the flavors were perfect together. My partner got the coconut iced blended coffee and it was super tasty and coconutty! Good coffee flavor too. The girls working here are also super sweet and helpful. Would come again, just need to brace myself for the line lol!
Ayer Coffee is constantly touted as one of the best matcha spots in the OC. After a while waiting on the sidelines due to the massive lines I passed by, I finally came at a good time where it wasn't too long of a wait and came away impressed. Ayer Coffee is located in the middle of a Tustin small strip mall plaza. It's a pretty small shop with very limited seating inside and usually a line waiting outside. I came in the middle of the day on a weekday around 1PM where the line wasn't too bad but grew quickly right after I left. You wait outside until you're called in to order with a menu waiting for you at the window. Ayer has a variety of coffee drinks, but I was here for the matcha which they conveniently number in order along with seasonal/special drinks. As always for me, I order the standard iced matcha latte without any syrups. Service was super kind all around. Getting the drink took about 5 minutes. All-around, I can see why people enjoy the matcha, even at the base drink level. The size is a good standard cup for about $7, and the matcha is very noticeable without being too grassy / earthy. It had a well balanced consistency and think it was mixed with solid oat milk that didn't overpower the matcha. Ayer sources their own matcha which they also sell. Overall, came away impressed that it met the hype!
Came here on a Friday afternoon and the line was pretty healthy. Finding a parking spot wasn't bad and we waited about 30 mins. Not much of an ambience since you just order and wait for your drinks. My wife and I ordered the pumpkin pie matcha and salted Saigon. The drinks came out super quick! BELIEVE THE HYPE. Both of these drinks were AMAZING. The pumpkin puree was real and tasted like actual pumpkin, unlike the other coffee spots that sell fake pumpkin sauce. The salted saigon is probably the best Vietnamese coffee I've ever had. No exaggeration.
I wanted to hate this place because how long the wait was but when we finally got to the front we got a matcha 2, and a Saigon drip. I'm so upset the matcha here was so fire cause now I have to wait in the stupid long line again. Coffee was good too very nutty but the matcha was the star so def recommend getting one. Service was also very nice, she brought our drinks out to us.
I was impressed by the variety of coffee and matcha drinks that are here! You could have a range of fruity and tropical drinks to more rich, spice forward drinks. Because it was Summer, I opted for the guava Matcha because it sounded very refreshing. I was surprised with how not too sweet and light it was, but it was still packed with wonderful guava flavor. I was more impressed that they hand whisk every Matcha drink in a bowl, but still, they deliver with speed, efficiency, and quality. My sister got the Matcha with banana and that one was very good. You can tell they use real banana. My only thing is I believe the bananas weren't ripe enough, but I know that it is hard to always have the perfect ripeness for bananas because of demand. This is definitely a grab and go establishment. There is no inside seating or bathrooms. I do advise you to use the bathroom before because all the restaurants nearby will not allow you to use the restroom unless you make a purchase. I definitely want to try the coffee drinks next time because their name has coffee in the title so I should try what they are known for by name!
OVERALL : This was my second time at Ayer. The first time I tried their classic matcha latte w/ matcha foam, mango matcha, and strawberry matcha. The drinks were perfectly creamy esp w/ oat milk, and matcha was strong enough to hold up against all the different flavors. There's always a line out the door on a weekend afternoon, but we only waited about 20 mins and the drinks were well worth the wait. Service was super friendly and helpful w/ reccs. Note that this is more of a take-and-go spot, not for sitting inside. PARKING : There is a parking lot but it is small; might need to make some rounds before you can find a spot. The plaza gets pretty crowded during peak hours! FOOD/DRINKS : Guava Matcha Latte - sweet and refreshing, the guava doesn't overpower the matcha taste and it's a good summer drink! strawberry is prob still my go to though when I want a fruity matcha Pumpkin Matcha Latte - their fall seasonal drink! so surprisingly good - this reminded me of a pumpkin pie esp with the prominent pumpkin taste + the warm fall spices! Would def get again.
The drinks here are amazing some of the best matcha you'll have in OC. The worst place about this place is the line that is a minimum of 20 mins every time if you're lucky. Some days it's 30-40 but when I tell you the wait is worth it. You won't be disappointed. I've come and gotten multiple drinks for myself . The shop itself is rather quaint and only allows like 4 guests at a time. They decorate for holidays and have music playing so it's nice but you're not here for the ambiance. The drinks are great no matter what you get! Banana matcha is awesome but tastes like a banana smoothie, double matcha is great and the coconut matcha is a refreshing way to start your day strong recommend !
Matcha Three is my favorite. It's matcha 3 ways of drink, foam, and sorbet. I've also had their coconut matcha and mango matcha. Everything I've ordered from here so far I've enjoyed. The workers are always very nice and smile. Lines can still be pretty long during peak times. The same can go for parking in the plaza. read more

I came on a weekday and there was no line. It is more of a order to go place, no tables inside. I ordered matcha one (matcha latte) and matcha two (double matcha). I like how they use oat milk for the drinks. The matcha flavor was strong and smooth. The employees were nice and service was quick. They call your name and bring your drink out once it is ready. Definitely will be back to try other drinks. read more

Hands down one of the best matchas I've had recently. The matcha one was perfect - earthy and not too sweet. My daughter loved the mango milk! I thought it was a bit on the sweet side, but she was one happy camper. They were sold out of the sweet bread, so I'll need to try that next time! The employees were nice and happy to be there. The line was pretty long, but went fast. Parking wasn't as easy as I'd hoped, but got a spot after a couple circles. Totally recommend is you are a matcha fan! read more

A lovely addition to the Tustin area! The plaza has plentiful parking. The shop itself is just a tiny storefront to order inside and so the queue is out the door usually during peak hours. I came early to get the salt bread and definitely had to wait a bit in line. The service is super friendly and very attentive and even asked me which salt bread I would prefer in the box. In addition to the salt bread, I also got the Matcha 2 which is essentially a matcha latte with the matcha foam on top. It was very well made and the salt bread was equally delicious! Would definitely recommend these 2 and the wait was worth it. Hopefully they can expand their hours! read more
Ayer Coffee is now officially open and recently had their grand opening this weekend. They are a Korean and Vietnamese owned coffee shop serving up some unique speciality matcha and coffee drinks. This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots. Keep in mind that they are take-out only and that lines do tend to form but move quickly. Wifey and I pulled up for our weekend matcha run and it was about a 20 minute wait. For their menu, they have a solid selection of different coffee and matcha drinks to choose from. Wifey ended up getting the Matcha Two and I got the Coconut Water Matcha Cream. Overall, we both thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and the flavor profiles they had. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Ayer definitely has a case to be the best matcha spot in all of OC. Come stop by to support and see for yourself! read more
I love this spot! I have been seeing this place all over Instagram and was wondering if it's as good as they say. When you first walk in, the shop is small, but filled with coziness and greeted with smiles. I first looked at the drinks, and the color if the matcha was the perfect shade of green. I knew it would be high quality when I first laid my eyes on this! FAVORITE ITEMS: - Mango Matcha: the mango was so creamy and refreshing. Paired against the bitterness of the matcha, it was the perfect balance. If you ever had mango lassi, this reminds me of an elevated version. I loved this and apparently it's one of the best sellers! - Blueberry Matcha: omg wow. I really loved this one too. The blueberry flavor was bold and not artificial tasting at all. It definitely stood out as a drink that I will remember. - Strawberry Matcha: Loved this one too. Amongst the drinks, this was sweeter, but not overbearingly so. If you love strawberry matchas, this is high up there on the list for sure. - Banana Matcha: creamy banana flavor, but again, not artificial. Paired really well with the matcha. It has crunchy bits on the top which was a very pleasant surprise. PARKING: it's in a small plaza, and I did not have any issues finding parking. PRICE: drinks are about $7 each, but definitely worth the quality. Overall, I am already dreaming about coming back here for the matcha. Anyone who wants matcha, this is THE spot to go to. read more
After hearing about this place for the past few months, I finally had a chance to check it out. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try this place because it is fantastic, and I can see why there is always a small line out the door. Ayer's located in a plaza with plenty of parking and the shop itself is quite small, so you'll need to wait out front until you get called in. The staff are super friendly, and you can see everyone spending so much time and effort to make sure the drinks are prepared as best as possible. I also appreciate that they offer to make adjustments after you try them, making sure you are completely satisfied. I got a mango matcha and my wife got a matcha two, and both drinks were excellent. This was easily the best matcha I've had in OC, with both drinks not being too sweet and the matcha tasting great. My only regret is not coming here sooner, because this place really lives up to the hype. I can't wait to try their coffee next, and will definitely be back for their matcha soon too. read more
Wanted to what the hype is about came here and grab a matcha mango and match sorry forgot the photos, don't let the line discourage you it's a little wait, and yes parking is limited but the service was good and the line moves. I enjoyed my matcha read more

OMG, I finally got to try Ayer and it was worth waiting in the 100 degree weather. Got me feeling hangry to happy real quick lol. 10/10! Everyone was so friendly and nice too. No place for you to do work tho but still very much worth it! read more
I came to Ayer and, like many of the other reviews mention, there was a line haha. I think I waited about 15-25 mins to order and then another 3-5 for my drink to be ready. All the matcha lattes are made with oat milk and give it a creamier, nuttier flavor. The color and presentation of the matcha was gorgeous and I would definitely recommend trying at least once! read more
Pulled up to Ayer during lunch and waited about 15 minutes to order. The casually stylish girlies had a matcha craving all at the same time apparently. Lots of workers in such a small space and they're working their tail feathers off! It's a grab and go place so no room for studying or chit chatting. My blueberry matcha was absolutely refreshing and the matcha itself was smooth and didn't have a bitter aftertaste. read more

Comfortably the best matcha I've had in OC! Was pretty underwhelmed with the Vietnamese coffee. The strength was lacking and the condensed milk flavor felt more similar to a syrup than condensed milk. Lots of comments on the line here. The line moves incredibly quick! The staff does a great job inside, the line appears longer because guests are limited on entry. read more
Mango Matcha was sweet with a somewhat creamy mango. This was delightful with a smooth balance of mango and matcha. Highly recommend!! Quick service and def more of grab n go place. Parking lot can be tight when busy but I found a spot and it's at least free parking. They also sell bread. read more
The staff and owners here are all so nice! I've been twice so far and both great experiences! The store is quite small so you do have to wait outside for the most part. You get called in to order. I personally prefer the matcha 1 over matcha 2 as a daily drink because I think the foam makes it a little heavier so it's like a nice once in a while drink for me. Their mango matcha has really good and natural tasting flavors. Their Saigon coffee is also a heavier drink in my opinion, but the drink itself is very well balanced and hits the spot!! read more

To begin with, the parking is terrible, there's usually a long line, and there's no seating. I used to come here regularly, but between the declining service and inconsistent drink quality, it's just not worth it anymore. I'd recommend going to Airoma instead. When you order a drink with light ice, they leave about an inch of room at the top and won't fill it with additional liquid. I spoke with one of the owners before, and they used to accommodate this, so it was disappointing to see the change. Paying nearly $8 for essentially one cup of liquid and then waiting 30 minutes isn't a great value, especially with so many other options in Orange County. To make matters worse, the drink I received was so clumpy that I had to have it remade. read more
Visit & Line: I tried to stop by Ayer Coffee around 1pm, but it was super busy & the line was out the door! I came back Saturday around 9:30am and was the only one waiting in line outside. The shop is small, and the line is managed outside to keep the indoor space from getting too crowded. When it's your turn, the barista calls you in, you place your order & then head to the cashier to pay. Ordering Process: The ordering process seems to work well; thought it would be even better if the barista could give you something to show the cashier so you don't have to repeat your order. The line moves fast but i can get long quickly during peak times. Drinks & Food: I ordered the Coconut Iced Blended Coffee--- they blend the coconut first and then pour the coffee on top. Give it a good mix--- it's super flavorful and delicious. I also tried the salt bread, which was fresh, baked perfectly, and yummy too! Parking & Convenience: There is a large parking lot, so parking wasn't an issue, making the spot very convenient. Overall: It's a small setup, but the staff are friendly, the drinks and pastries are tasty & the process is organized. Just try to avoid peak times if you want a quicker trip :) read more
Ayer Coffee is a new coffee shop located in Tustin serving Vietnamese coffee and matcha drinks. They source their coffee from Vietnam and their matcha from Japan. They're currently in their soft opening phase; I went right before they opened at 10am and there was already a line that got even longer after I got in line. The interior is a tiny space with only a small bench but has an open kitchen where you can watch the workers make the drinks. We got the salted saigon ($6.50) and the matcha 2 ($8) which were both not too sweet or bitter; they were very well balanced. As a non matcha drinker we liked that the matcha didn't have that bitter taste. Because there were a lot of workers the drinks came out in less than five minutes. The staff was friendly and the drinks were both really good! read more
I've been to Ayêr maybe 4 times now and I've had a great experience every time. I've come in on both weekends and weekdays. Obviously there will be more of a line on the weekends, but they move through the line very quickly and the workers are super kind despite how busy it can get. I would say parking is more of an issue on the weekends, but people come and go so it's not the worst. I've tried the Matcha Two (my go-to) and the Salted Saigon. They are both delicious!! As someone who prefers less sweet drinks + a salted element to otherwise sweet things, both of these drinks hit the spot for me. The coffee is so flavorful and the salted cream top balances it out perfectly. The Matcha Two has the perfect matcha notes for me--bitter and nutty. The bitterness isn't extremely overpowering because the Salted Matcha Cream Top cuts through it and pairs nicely. The drink itself isn't the creamiest, it has more of a watery consistency, but the amount of matcha is generous. The flavor of the drink as a whole is well balanced and the light sweetness paired well with the notes of the matcha and salted cream. Overall this is one of my favorite matchas in OC simply because everything in the drink is well balanced. The service here is always great and they really know how to work through the line quickly. The space to order drinks is compact, but has a bench to sit on. They also have a system where you approach the counter first to order, then head to the cashier to pay. Despite the amount of customers they get, the workers are always super kind and have a great attitude. I definitely recommend checking out Ayêr, and I will obviously be back for more :) read more
I came here for the double matcha but I left loving the mango matcha. How the turn tables. The hype on social media is real because it led me to this random strip mall that was PACKED. There was a line out the door so I immediately knew which one Ayer was. They work efficiently, though, because we got through the line and received our drinks all within 15 minutes. The Matcha Two aka double matcha is very creamy because of the matcha foam and the quality of the matcha they use in the latte is good. I'm speaking based off the experience I have of making my own matcha lattes at home, with powder I bought from Japan. The mango matcha was a pleasant surprise. I'm usually not one to drink fruity matchas because I like the flavor of the matcha without it getting tainted but I'm a mango lover so this one really got me. I can't say for sure but from what I tasted, I believe the mango puree is made in-house. It was fresh and complemented the matcha perfectly. The worker who helped us was also so kind, and she recommended that we try the salted Saigon next time, so I will be back for that really soon. read more

Though may have been a bit tricky on a Sunday afternoon, this seemingly standard minimall coffee stand had a line that moved pretty quickly and a friendly staff that kept orders moving smoothly. Nice feel for a grab and go place. Drinks were pretty amazing though. Strawberry matcha was solid but the banana hojicha was something else. Definitely returning for another banana hojicha. read more

I came by recently on a Sunday and boy was the line long, But i stood in it anyways. Ive been wanting to try this place for awhile now but there was always a line. The shop was really small so you only go in to order and you go out to wait. The line moved fast since there was no line inside. I got the Salted saigon coffee, mango matcha, matcha two. I tried all 3 and the matcha were really good. The mango matcha had no dairy inside so thats perfect for my lactose intolerant husband. It was refreshing with hints of creaminess. The double matcha was also really good, thick cold foam at the top and lightly sweetened at the bottom. The coffee was no my favorite though. It was strong but it tasted a bit too dark. I usually like the Vietnamese coffee beans but this one was different...tasted more chocolatey or something. The sea salt cold foam was good though! Parking lot is small and theres barely any parking. Workers were nice and friendly. read more

I got the matcha 2. It's slightly bitter with a bit of grassiness. It's creamy and not too sweet. However, there is some inconsistency with how it's made. Both my friend and I got the same drink but mine was grainy and hers was milky. Also, the salted matcha vanilla cream was really bitter. I really wanted to try it based on all the reviews I've seen and read but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype for me. I do appreciate how welcoming everyone was. The line went by fairly quickly too. read more
Saturday morning wait was about 20 minutes, but the line moved quickly. We got a matcha two and a mango matcha. The matcha is smooth, and the drinks are not too sweet. Mango matcha tastes like real mango and is appropriately sweet as well. The shop is very small in a strip mall, so it's easy to miss. People are very nice and would totally go here again. read more
The matcha here is sooooo good and creamy! One of my favorite matchas!!! Its near perfect. I think my only suggestion is having more Asian flavors in the matcha like pandan. Coming back to try the blueberry matcha and hojicha latte. read more
Another matcha spot in OC, I'm there!! What I love about this shop is they offer three matcha levels, up to a triple matcha drink, which I haven't really seen in OC so far. 'Matcha Two': basically a double matcha, matcha latte with a salted matcha cream top. Matcha flavor was mild, but smooth and the salted cream added a nice balance to the drink making it not too sweet. 'Banana Matcha': Loved the real banana flavor, it was a perfect mix of both matcha and banana. I loved that it was topped with real banana slices and crunchy toffee bits! Even with a line, the wait really wasn't that bad and their service was friendly! Pretty small shop, so more of a grab and go spot. read more
pictured: Coconut Iced Blended Coffee (coconut cream, coconut milk, coconut water, condensed milk) Mango Matcha (oat milk, mango puree) * my favorite but i honestly recommend their entire menu! * a must-try where you cannot go wrong with any of their drinks * matcha is high-quality and freshly whisked * staff are attentive to details and happy to make adjustments * also sells limited supply of salt bread daily * no seating 10/10 read more
Line was not as long as it usually is so we stopped after church and it moved fairly fast - maybe 20 mins with about 14 people ahead. They have a smart ordering process and are churning out the drinks so that's a plus. Now for the drinks - Giava matcha 9/10 very good, earthy and not too sweet. Matcha 3 - 7/10 VERY earthy and not sweet at all so if you're a matcha matcha person this is it. If you like sweet, fake matcha this is not going to be your cup of tea. Blueberry coffee - 6/10 bc it was a bold coffee and could have used a milk to cut the bitterness. Spanish latte - 9/10 good flavor and balanced coffee/milk. Salt bread - 2/10 plain and basic for $5 read more
Everything about Ayêr coffee is on point! The matcha, coffee, and their Salt Croissant are all worth trying! Lines tend to start as with all the newest trending coffee shops, but our order was made quickly. I had assumptions about their Salt Croissant Roll, but you definitely need to try it! Batches may be limited as when I came last week they were on their last batch at around 11AM. Salted Saigon (5/5): The best brewed Vietnamese coffee I've had in so long! It's not extremely bitter but strong standards Vietnamese coffee and slightly sweet from the cream and a nice ratio of condensed milk. Matcha Two (5/5): This is exactly what I want in a matcha. Not skimpy with the powder, not a pale green, and as a double matcha, the cream is also thick! I like the finishing details of them dusting the powder of their logo on the cream. The matcha flavor is strong on this drink! If you're curious about any of their drinks, try it! I'm so glad we got both the coffee and matcha and can confirm that both are great options. read more

Tried this matcha spot with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. It definitely delivered. I really appreciate that they let you adjust the sweetness level, so I opted for less sugar, and it came out perfectly balanced. I ordered the Matcha One latte with oat milk, and it was honestly so smooth. The matcha itself had a strong, rich flavor without being bitter, and the oat milk complemented it really well. You can tell they don't hold back on the matcha either. I definitely felt the caffeine kick in, which I love. Just a heads up, the space is very small with no table seating, so it's more of a grab and go kind of spot. With that said, the staff was efficient and quick, keeping things moving even in a tight space. Overall, a solid matcha spot if you're looking for quality and a good caffeine boost. I'd definitely come back again. read more
Easily one of my favorite spots to grab matcha! I've been in my double matcha era for a long time and when I heard of triple matcha taking over social media, I knew I had to check it out myself. Triple matcha is basically a double matcha (matcha latte with matcha cream top) with an addition of matcha sorbet. If that sounds like matcha heaven to you, then you better head on over! There's a decent amount of parking, but with the social media hype, the parking lot can be easily full. We unknowingly arrived before it opened and did not think about a possible line forming. It was funny because I was like, why did everyone reverse park their car so they're facing the entrance? As soon as I looked back, I saw a line had been formed. We quickly got into the line and probably waited about 10-15 minutes. Ordering was quick and easy and we learned that they bake their salt and butter bread in a commercial oven fresh each morning, so make sure to grab one before it runs out! If matcha isn't for you, they also have coffee drinks. We also tried the Salted Saigon (vietnamese coffee with sea salt cream) and that was pretty strong and decadent too. I enjoyed the bread with the matcha and I definitely want to try the mango matcha the next time. I'll be back for more matcha goodness! read more

Got the #2 and it was good, more on the creamy and sweet side due to the matcha cream. This place is just a little on the pricey side. Service was fast and friendly. Practically zero seating so this is a more grab and go spot. Worth trying if you're in Tustin but I wouldn't drive out of my way. read more
