This is one of another great places to get a good hearty breakfast on the weekend to kick off the day. But instead I came here this morning to start my day right so I can better my chance to ace 2 interviews that I had. This place also offers you a lot of choices on the menu for a breakfast place. I had their flavored hazelnut coffe, the egg-spectacular omelette that came with potatoes and with a choice of toast or English muffins (that's what I chose). The muffins were a little greasy, one bite of that, I could feel the grease dripping out of my hand. The omelette had cheese, ham, mushrooms, and green onions. Loved the decor of the place, it reminded me of an old French kitchen that has statues and pictures of fat chefs. The waitress was extremely attentative, probably because it wasn't that busy on a Thursday morning. I would come back to this place to try another omelette. He said it was really good and he likes the way it was presented in its own separate dish. This is a pretty basic breakfast place that has all the standard breakfast stuff - eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles. Nothing spectacular, but I can't find anything bad about the place. My hubby, kid and I got here early Saturday morning, around 8:30 and the place was half-full. We were seated shortly in a very clean and moderately decorated establishment. It was kinda lite french modern. I noticed that there were lots of families also dining with small children. The dining is sectioned off into a few small dining rooms which made it feel cozy. They also had a nice out door seating area in front. Our waiter got to us quickly and was fast in getting us our AM cup of java, very good here by the way. I ordered the biscuit & gravy which includes two eggs any style and my husband got the crossaint egg sandwich, both dishes came with breakfast hash browns. The menu was 70 % breakfast items and the rest lunch. We both enjoyed our meals, although it was nothing spectacular. Pretty much what you would fix at home if you had the inclination. The mixed fruit bowl was really fresh, more so then a lot of other pricey joints. I kinda regret not getting one of the Benedicts (they have a selection of 5!). Overall its a good place to go to if you don't want to make breakfast. Its not Breadwinners but the price difference is fair. I would have liked a breakfast buffet, considering the kind of casual dining this place caters to, that would have been nice. As we were leaving we noticed that a short line had formed in the waiting area. It's not a fancy place but the portions are nice and the price is more than reasonable and being new its really clean. I came to The Egg & I not knowing if I'd be a fan or not. I wanted to work on my bible study and drink some coffee. Short review would be that I was impressed. The service I received from my server Casey was great! He was quick to answer my questions, make recommendations, and had the ability to make small talk to make the experience wonderful. The (what I can assume) manager came by tables to see how everything was and if there was anything anyone needed. The food was incredible and cooked to perfection (I ordered the breakfast burrito) and the staff all seemed to work together very well. This is one of our families favorite breakfast locations. Since we have 4 kids the environment allows for a little margin on noise. The food is usually good. I think that the service is a mixed bag. You never know what you're going to get. We had a funny thing happen this morning. My son asked the server for Dr. Pepper and she said I will bring you a chocolate milk. This was our first time to eat here. The bacon was some of the best I've ever had and they cooked my eggs exactly how I asked them to. I asked for the potatoes to be extra crispy and several of them were burned and they weren't very good. Overall the food wasn't very hot. The coffee was just ok. The place had maybe 5 customers and was empty but they sat us in a corner and ignored us for most part. The wait staff took some time to show up and take our order and the food took long to come out. I've been here several times and they don't disappoint! The food is always really good, and the staff is friendly. The wait can be a bit long on the weekends, but that is to be expected with such a great brunch spot. We've gotten their pancakes, sandwiches, salads, eggs Benedict, and French toast. Ok... feel free to tell me if I'm being too picky here, but this is the experience we had. I'll start with the worst and move toward the better. The food. It's the worst. At least what I had was absolutely inedible. I had the apple/granola pancake combo, and I really don't think this recipe was thought through. The apples weren't peeled, the oatmeal (what they call granola) was left in chunks, and the cinnamon dried out the wheat pancake. On top of that? Everything was baked in... I don't think they make pancakes often, because if you bake sliced apples, granola, and cinnamon IN to a pancake, rather than leave it on top, the pancake will be dry. The apples cooked well, but the skin was left on, and that ruined the taste. So, long story short? Super dry disgusting pancake. The bacon and eggs weren't anything to write home about, but they weren't horrible. The service was lacking... a LOT. The hostess spent all of her time on the phone. When we got there, on the phone, and when we left, on the phone. She was rude, and basically just a jerk. the server was ok, but didn't do his job. He just gave us our food and left. The kicker? No one EVER asked us how our food was, or for our feedback. I thought the point was to please the people who were dining at your establishment... apparently not the case here. And finally, the prices. They aren't breakfast prices, unless there's some crazy ingredient I didn't read about. It's far too expensive for just a crappy pancake, bacon, eggs, and a coffee. No one told me about the extra charges for the apples/granola either! Humph. So I left disappointed. Didn't say anything, paid my bill, and figured I would just give a warning to fellow Yelpers not to eat here. There are better places around for cheaper prices, nicer service, and much better food. Go somewhere else unless you just really enjoy the generic decor of a 40 year old contemporary woman's living room. read more

The General Manager, Curtis, runs his restaurant with superior standards and has all the staff working as a united front to make sure everyone is taken care of and your food arrives hot and exactly the way you ordered it! Just poor service, mediocre food, overall disorganized. You'd think a brunch place would have brunch figured out by now, but these guys were Struggling with a capital S. We were seated right away, but had to watch tables arriving after us have drink orders taken and served before our waitress visited. She had trouble with the order, not familiar with the sides or other options. A food runner brought out the food, but forgot part of it, so we had to wait again for that. Just a miniature comedy of errors. The food was pretty rough and overly salty. The eggs in all forms everyone ordered were brown, dry and overcooked. The ranch potatoes were not browned at all, like they came out too soon or the pan wasn't hot enough. Paying at the counter was much more a hassle than it should've been, no one seemed to pay attention to me for more than 2 second bursts. They were to busy helping each other figure something out about the computer or tables or something that must've been far more important than me.
