A 3 egg omelette. Smallest I have ever seen

Smallest 3 egg omelette we have ever seen and how can you make eggs taste bad? Horrible. But worse than the miniature omelette, the grits were even worse. No taste at all. They were disgusting. Very disappointing. They did cook my bacon to order but the bacon was like a salt stick. Unfortunate- we were so happy to see a new cafe in The Colony hopefully it was just an off day

The Colony Cafe is quite possibly one of a few truly standout dining establishments in Denton County, featuring a warm and inviting environment and staffed with genuinely kind employees. Deciding upon a dish may conceivably be difficult as The Colony Cafe's highly affordable menu, although not overwhelming with clutter or redundancy, contains many potentially tantalizing dishes. Because of this dilemma, I deferred to the expertise of our waitress. She: So, what will y'all be having? Me: Hmm, I'm torn between Eggs Benedict, Migas, and Reuben Omelet. She: Those are all great choices... Me: (becoming more puzzled) Alright, if you could have something right now, what would YOU order. She: Actually, I wouldn't order any of those. I would order The Colony Combo. Me: Really?!? She: YES! It's sooooo good!!! Me: Alright, I'm convinced! Colony Combo ($5.49): 5/5 http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-colony-cafe-the-colony?select=3gkDx24Vj0y3d-glIW_cwg http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-colony-cafe-the-colony?select=1j015prjurv3dQ1rXYgLXw http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-colony-cafe-the-colony?select=DRAMuWLot0_PnfJBORK0mg http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-colony-cafe-the-colony?select=e-5x6vaUpCaMHTpJaRhcMA Frankly, I became skeptical after ordering. "What's so special about a couple eggs, a few slices of bacon, and a short stack of hot cakes?", I thought. What I can say is, The Colony Cafe flawlessly executed a simple breakfast. My compliments to the chef for preparing sunny-side up exactly as they were intended, frying bacon perfect to a bright crisp, and whipping up a batch of fluffy pancakes that, in my opinion, are the pinnacle and epitome of all pancakes...ever!!! Texas Chili Cheese Omelet ($7.29): 5/5 I nearly ordered this myself but became the immediate benefactor of Loren L's lack of stomach capacity. The Colony Cafe's hearty chili omelet is something of legends! Their perfectly balanced chili is not over the top spicy, nor too acidic or overcome with tomato flavor. Undoubtedly, one dish not to be glanced over. Coffee ($1.59): 4/5 Known for my strict critique of coffee, I was delightfully impressed by The Colony Cafe's ability to brew a solid cup of coffee that did not require sugar or milk. To attest to my approval, I actually requested my cup be refilled more than several times during the course of our breakfast. If you are a resident of Denton County, you mustn't delay a visit to The Colony Cafe. Their value minded offerings will more than satisfy and most assuredly, keep you coming back for more.

The first time I came here I had The Colony Skillet. I walked into the place for the first time at around 1:30 p.m. on a Sunday for my "breakfast". Keep in mind that this place closes at 2:30, so by then, there weren't that many people there anymore. The first thing I noticed about the couple tables that were there was that they seemed to be on very familiar terms with the staff. Good sign. Starving, didn't really know what to order. I had read that the coffee was good, so I knew I was going to try it. Coffee aside, I asked my server "I'm hungry, what's popular?" In my less manner-observing thoughts this roughly translated to "Feed me the best food you've got" I think she read my mind. "The Colony Skillet." she said. Now normally in small establishments such as this one, I'm always skeptical of food that's named after a city. After she explained everything that's in it (during which I didn't really take in half the things she said), I agreed to it. First came the coffee. The coffee was very decent. It wasn't an exotic brew filled with rich and aromatic flavors from the depth of Colombia, nor did it have the [insert all coffee descriptions] of [insert all foreign coffee producing places]. It was simply a good, solid, morning (afternoon, in my case) cup of joe. AND courtesy of my server, I never saw the bottom of my coffee mug. Keep them refills coming. Needless to say I was very well (read: excessively) caffeinated for the remaining afternoon. Then came the food. Delicious. Sausage, eggs, cheese, hash brown on English muffin, all topped off with a generous serving of gravy. I personally didn't think the combination of everything was too much. It was just enough flavor to hit the spot, and not so much that it goes over the top. The sweet spot. I just had dinner, writing this makes me want it again. I devoured it. First post, lengthy post. Thanks for reading, happy to share!

A local surprise. We were on our way to a 3 star lunch, spotted this place and decided to try it. Solid 4 star food & 5 star service. Lots of regulars were served while we ate. The food is good, service outstanding & very friendly. Give the cinnamon rolls with nuts a try... Yum!

Hopefully they were having an off day?

It has a good vibe and feeling, The decor is simple, but has an urban charm. Pam was my waitress and she was nice. For food we tried the Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese. We also tried original wings and lemon pepper wings. 4 STARS - The Chicken was fried nicely and well seasoned. The original wings were great. However, the lemon pepper didn't really work. It lacked some lemon pepper flavor. They were still good and fried well. 4 STARS - The greens were perfectly seasoned and yummy. I would get these again. Mac & Cheese it needs a little work. It was just a little too oily/greasy for our liking. I did share this with the owner who seemed to take feedback well. I will rate this after I try it again to see if any improvement. 4 STARS The drinks were tasty. The frozen Hurricane was refreshing. My mom enjoyed this cocktail and thought it very tasty. I tried it and totally agree. Strawberry Henny was my favorite and tasted good. Overall I had a good experience. I know they are new and still working out the tiny kinks. I think they are off to a great start. I enjoyed the music playing. I left feeling satisfied. I don't repeat often, but I will be back. I am a fan and wish them the best. 2026 - Review # 15…read more Visited during lunch and ordered their appetizer trio. It comes with spinach and artichoke dip, french fries, and tenders. I enjoyed the spinach dip, but wasn't a huge fan of the fries. Their croissants were delicious. They bought them to our tale several times throughout our meal and the server was attentive and friendly. I felt as the menu had something to offer for everyone, with their most popular being their chicken tenders.

It was quite busy, but we were still seated right away; that was nice! The server took our drink order right away, but kept repeating something different from what was said. My husband ordered, "I'll have a draft Modello," and the server said, "Budweiser?" - 3 times! We later learned that they don't have Modello on draft.... she should have told us. I ordered water with Lemon & no ice. She brought the Modello (in a bottle), water (full of ice), and no lemon. The sweet tea was not sweet, and it was very cloudy... When we mentioned it to the server, she argued that it WAS, in fact, sweet tea (it was not), but she brought out another glass that was also NOT sweet tea. We chose not to say anything; we thought, "Okay... this is not starting off very well." The croissants are always delicious, but having plates to put them on would have been nice. When we ordered, my husband asked for the Cheese bites appetizer before the meal (if you haven't had these, you're missing out!). Then we each placed our order. We had to ask for other items that we shouldn't have had to ask for. Our food was delivered by kitchen staff, and we realized that we never received the appetizer. So, when the server came by, we asked about it. She said, "Let me check." When she came back, she said, "... the kitchen was behind tonight; they are so behind on everything!" My husband asked for the Manager. When he (Kevin W) came over, my husband asked him to step over to another area so as not ruffle anyone. When my husband shared the experience (so far) with the Manager, he was not happy with what had been told to us... and said "...the kitchen is NOT behind at all, and that the server had put in the cheese bites order AFTER the food was made (like when we asked her about it). The Manager was very kind and apologetic, and said to ask for him if we needed anything. Our granddaughter had the Shrimp with fries and red beans-n-rice... she said the RB&R was terrible... no juice, no flavor, just a bunch of almost dry beans & rice. She barely ate her food! Our Chicken tenders were wonderful as always, but the Broccoli-cheese casserole was not good at all... it was pretty much Broccoli stems with cheese & a ton of bread crumbs on top! We were never offered refills for our beverages or beer, and everything took a long time, but the people who arrived long after us were served quickly. We left there so disappointed and frustrated that a place we LOVE allows such terrible service; as it's a big negative against the establishment, even if the food is normally great! When she brought us the check, the table was still full of dishes, so we asked her to please clear some of them. There's more to this, but isn't this enough? If ya made it this far (thanks). We will try them again. We LOVE Cheddar's and hope the next time is much better!! Carry on :-)

When I arrived, I was waiting on two family members who were about 10 minutes away, so I went ahead to put our name in. The hostess told me I could go right in, which made it seem like a table was ready, but she never took my name or wrote anything down. After I explained I was waiting for two others, she said "okay" and then started taking names and numbers from other parties, leaving me off to the side without her saying anything else. It was odd, so I sat down. After sitting for maybe 5-7 minutes, I noticed she was taking names for parties of 2 and 3, which was confusing. When I asked about it, she said she already had my party and name even though she had never taken it. At that point, it felt like the Chinese restaurant episode of Seinfeld, where somehow you're waiting but also not really on the list. She finally took my name for a party of three and quoted a 30-45 minute wait, without accounting for the time already lost. My family members arrived shortly after, and we still waited another 20 minutes or so. Once we were seated, the service didn't improve much. Our server was extremely slow, and everything came out at once. We barely had time to get drinks, salads, or biscuits before the food arrived. Refills and additional requests felt more burdensome than attentive. While the food and drinks themselves were great, the overall service felt very disorganized and subpar.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Located in Frisco, Dad Jokes Cheesyburger is worth the drive from Dallas County. The restaurant's indoor seating is very small, but the outdoor seating when the weather is nice (March or October) adds to the laid-back vibe that caters to everyone from families to hardcore burger lovers. 1 Star. Service - This is counter service with a smile! The staff will take your order, you get your own drinks, and when your name is called your food is ready. On my visit I got to meet the great Clayton (owner/proprietor/dad joke expert). He was super nice, told me a dad joke, and he is a great follow on Instagram. 1 Star. Food - Dad Jokes Cheesyburger caught my attention because of the OK Burger. This popular burger smashes onions directly into the patty. I made mine a double and was rewarded with a big, juicy, beefy bite with onion flavors that complemented (not over-powered) the bite. I paired with the Smoked Tots. These super crunchy and tasty tots are paired with chili, chives, and smokey BBQ sauce. It's hard to top tots - unless you top it with chili. It was less of a side or more of a hearty side dish - a perfect complement to my OK Burger. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I heard about the OK Burger and made the 40-minute drive from Irving-Las Colinas to Frisco. Not only would I repeat the drive, but I would also invite my friends to join me and for some tasty bites and jokes. I hope they don't get EXHAUSTED. 1 Star.
