I contracted h pylori bacteria from eating a burger here. It was the only thing I ate that day so I know it was from this burger. That night I had food poisoning and threw up, the follow three months my sides were hurting and ulcers. The doctors did so many tests on me to find out what it was. They were shocked to find out it was h pylori bc the bacteria was eradicated for years. It's coming back because people don't wash their hands well or clean their cell phone, then touch their cell and touch food. I don't ever wish this experience on anybody but they are not clean

Sorry, you can't see how thin each omelet is. And these are meat lovers. One slice of bread cut in half. Spoon full of potatoes.

I ordered UberEats. They had by one get one free. Looks like they took one meal and divided it into 2 meals and charged me over $15.00 for a meat lovers omelet that I had to put both together to make one omelet. They gave one slice of toast which they cut in half. Who gives one slice of toast for a breakfast? They gave a spoon full of breakfast potatoes. It gets worse. I also ordered the chicken fried chicken meal, buy one get one free. Looks like they also took one meal and divided it into two means and charged over $16.00.

This is a relatively cheap place to eat breakfast. I had the migas which are always pretty good. I also added the mom's breakfast from a time I went before. Everything was cooked correctly. The only down side is the waiter seemed to be new. He never brought me silverware even after seeing me eat my breakfast with my coffee spoon. Most of the time when I eat here the service and food is pretty good. Check it out if you are in town

The food is good but... is there a shortage of sides? Everyone's meals looked like this... for portions it was underwhelming. thank goodness I didn't order the french fries, I'd probably get about 6 fries total.

Tried them again...I really want to support small business....again...barely warm hash browns and they totally forgot to all the tomatoes to my omelet. I think I'm done here....it just shouldn't be this hard to get it right.

2 pc fried catfish meal (senior plate) + 1 side & roll. There is a full size version of this that comes with 4 pcs of catfish + 2 sides

We've been coming to Mom's for 5 years and we love this neighborhood spot. They have a wide variety of menu items. Wish they were open for dinner! The girl working there told me there's a new owner (purchased 2 months ago) so I'm expecting to see some changes. Menus on Yelp are super old so adding the newest ones here with their specials. For this visit, we ordered: 1) chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and fried okra 2) Senior Plate, 2 pc fried catfish with 1 side, grilled mixed veggies Verdict: Chicken fried chicken was smashed down so thin it was completely dry. As in the chicken was crispy because it was so dry. Mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box. Okra was perfect. Catfish was good, light crisp. Veggies were pretty much green bell peppers. The rolls that came with our meals were GOOD. Prices definitely went up, as well as everything in our lives. I hope to try some of the specials soon. We usually get breakfast to go (love everything we get) but curious to see how things will change with new ownership.

Oh yes tried Mom's again with new owner. Soooo good and fresh. The salsa with my Machaca was amazing and homemade. You're welcome

Cute little mom& pop business revamped by new owners. A new look and new menu made this trip necessary. The food has classic old school flair & presentation. I had the Denver omelette and enjoyed the experience.

So if it's value, this place is it as many places have raised their prices since the pandemic. If it's based on price, this would be a 5 star. But, we're talking taste here. It was yesterday that I had a craving, so I got 2 combination and 2 grilled pork. The combination was decent. The meat to bread ratio was about right, but the overall taste was bland, just not much flavor. As to the grilled pork, I was surprised to see they were just pork patties instead of actual pork. These patties were flavor enhanced with some sort of fillers and lots of ginger. But it lacks the grilled pork taste other than it's some sort of meat patty. Overall, it filled the stomach and craving, but it wasn't enough to trigger the thought of going back anytime soon. I'm sure I'll be back as it is great value for December 2025, but the overall flavor was just average at best.

First time ordered light to go: congri (cuban rice mixed with black beans) and patacones (smashed up double fried green plantains). My expectations were low. The congri was a religious experience. I've only had congri this good another time in my life and that was home cooked by a Cuban friend. This congri is better than anything in Miami. It's better than Versailles and it's probably the best congri in the world . I come from Ecuador and plaintain runs thru my veins. That I know of Cuba is not known for excellent patacones. But these were up there with the best I've ever had. And trust me that's high praise coming from an Ecuadorian. Second time we came we ate light at the restaurant: 2 cheese empanadas, a cuban coffee (that espresso thimble thing) and a mojito cocktail. The cuban coffee was the best I've ever had but I'm biased bc he put a little sugar in it and it was deep and perfect. My wife who is half Cuban likes it straight (no sugar). The mojito was good but it needs a little work. For the best mojito ever go to Miami's Cafe Versailles. The lovely waitress who waited on us was attentive and even offered to take a picture of us. Met the owner/chef and he shared some of his incredible life story. I'll respect his privacy but he had to go to epic lengths to achieve his American dream. We ordered $100 of food to go. The pork cuban tamal was infused with pork flavor to the max. The sanduche Cubano would be something that fit right in Miami. His Ropa Vieja is right on par with my wife's ropa vieja which I consider better than any I've had in ANY restaurant including Versailles and La Carreta. These guys are so lovely and authentic that I don't think they even speak English. But don't fret, bring your Google Translate and be treated to some of the best Cuban food anywhere. I really loved this place and I really love these guys. Like the owner said: "trato de dar lo mejor de mi" = I give the best of myself from the heart . That's my kind of place. Can't wait to go back

There's a natural comparison to Arby's but Beef a Roo had a more extensive menu including burgers, chicken, wraps, and more. The two of us stuck to roast beef sandwiches, however, ordering a couple well-priced meal deals. Wife had the Classic Roast Beef and I had the Large version. Sides were Onion Rings and Fries. The Roast Beef was very good with the large being more than ample. Beef was tasty and buns were fresh. Sauces were not mentioned, offered, or available in the main dining area, however, and we both commented on the fact that something was needed before asking at the counter. Still don't know all available options, we were given horseradish sauce (think Arby's Horsey) which helped. Definitely check out options when ordering, a combination of BBQ and horseradish would have been a great addition. Sides would have been better but a bit undercooked. Usual offering of drinks. In summary, Roast Beef basic sandwich was great, staff should have made sauces more available and sides cooked a bit better. Still, a great start and a place to consider when in the area. The interior is small but cute with a cool 2D design. The original salt bread is clearly the most popular flavor but there's a few additional flavors such a Bischoff, Dubai chocolate, truffle, injeolmi and red bean. They offer a few options for coffee as well as matcha. I also saw the Dubai mochi here as well. The staff warmed up our breads, except for the sweet ones, which was dangerous because now how could you not eat warm buttery bread in the car on the way home? The salt bread was dripping with butter inside and crispy on the outside. It was not overly salty like a pretzel so we very much enjoyed it. However, the truffle one was divine. I almost went back in to get more of that one. I regret not doing it. We tried one sweet one which was the Bischoff which was also very delicious if you like sweet/salty combo like I do. The only thing I didn't find pleasant was the customer service. Very dry greeting and absolutely no warmth. It was later in the evening but not any time close to closing. There were even quite a few people inside and just hanging out. Perhaps they had a long day but it killed the mood a little, which is why we opted to get the bread to go. In any case, the bread is delicious. I can't wait to get more of the truffle salt bread!

Otherwise it gets a bit soggy and not as crispy/buttery and tends to lose flavor when you take it home or let it sit out for too long. The coffee was also pretty watery and bitter when I had it during my first visit ( i believe i got the banana coffee/latte ) so id probably skip their coffee and either try their other drinks which i havent tried, or just get the bread! I stopped by today for the dubai chocolate cookie since we were in the area. It is pretty expensive ($4-5) for one small regular dubai cookie -- but i will say it is quiite yummy so worth if youre craving it!! We also asked if they had the butter tteok/mochi since i saw it advertised on their instagram and they were very confused by my question and slightly rude to us stating they didnt know what that was and bluntly said they didnt have it ( we stopped by around 12:30pm ) so it pretty much turned me off from being interested in buying more stuff not sure if they were sold out or just didnt have it despite advertising it but i was like oh!!! after they bluntly responded to us TT Not a big deal but both visits being subpar makes me think i likely wont be back to this bakery But!
