Trung Nguyen - Old Denton Rd (Carrollton) This might be the best coffee I've ever tasted in DFW area I've visited this location three different times. After tasting for the very first time their, Black Phin Coffee (Ca Phe Den), I was truly craving more. BLACK PHIN: It's kind of difficult to describe what kind of flavor it is and what makes this particular Vietnamese coffee blend so unique. I usually prefer hot coffee. When you first get it, it offers a sweet aroma, like notes of condensed milk. But, it's not sweet flavored. Unless you prefer cream and sugar in your coffee. With every sip it becomes more and more uniquely flavorful. It offers a bold flavor for your taste buds. I typically can drink up to two 12oz cups, but even then I don't finish the entire cup. This one, I can finish the entire cup and crave more. ATMOSPHERE: The space is cozy and small. It stays busy throughout the day. It offers limited seating with a unique layout. You will find a few tables with chairs to the left of the entrance. Three open cubbyholes with tables and chairs, on the right side. The middle cubbyhole has a beautiful wooden world map. They have a small waiting area in the corner. This corner offers large wooden shelves full of unique merchandise for all your coffee needs. The shelves look like they've been thoughtfully designed and look elegant without overcrowding the space. SERVICE: All three times I've visited the service has been welcoming, efficient and the order made right. Even if your order is not to your satisfaction, they'll gladly remake it for you. The staff were friendly and helpful if you're new to Vietnamese coffee culture. PARKING: Extremely difficult to get a parking spot here. Be sure to plan your visit accordingly. You can drop your car buddy off and circle around a few times. OVERALL: All three times I visited, my hot Black Phin had exact same consistency as the first sip. Next time I visit DFW area, this is a must stop for me. I highly recommend you give them a try. They offer great menu variety of drinks and food options. They do offer complimentary Wi-Fi, if you need to stay inside, get work done or just catch up with your friends and family.

The egg cream coffee was great, the egg cream complemented the strong taste of Viet coffee. The coconut matcha cloud was a little underwhelming. The matcha flavor was pretty weak, so the drink tasted mostly like coconut water. For the prices, $8 is a bit expensive for a cup of coffee, but I think it's still worth every once in a while. I would try the other speciality phin coffees next time and skip the coconut matcha cloud. Overall, I would recommend if you want some Viet coffee and are in the area.
I haven't been here in so long! This time I got their Durian Cream Latte and it was so good. Since it was a cream latte, I think they mix Viet coffee with milk, so it's less sweet than the regular Viet coffee. I really liked the durian foam flavor and will definitely get it againn
Visiting Dallas & I wanted to try some matcha spots!! Corn matcha was BUSSSIN the matcha was definitely high quality and the corn cream was super sweet and decadent. Good amount for the price point as well. The service was very friendly and there was plenty of comfortable seating (for a weekday). I loved that they were blasting BTS songs all day LOL. Would come back to try other drinks!
Got pandan matcha and durian latte. My pandan matcha was so delicious and refreshing, it was grassier than I expected, almost reminded me of the taste of pennyworth. The durian latte made me very curious and we had to get it. My husband liked it but I wish it had more obvious durian flavor in the coffee/latte than just the foam. The foam was done well and was aromatic though. Would love to come back to this place when I'm visiting again.
Been wanting to stop by for a while now and finally made it out. I got two drinks: The Ube Coffee and The Black Sesame Latte. The Ube Coffee: 5/10 - I've tried various latte's and coffee with ube and this one was a little underwhelming. The coffee definitely overpowered the ube making it more coconut flavored than ube at all. I probably wouldn't get this again. The Black Sesame Latte: 8/10 - It had a good consistency of black sesame topping but it didn't over power the latte. The flavors were well balanced. I'd come back and get this again.

I came in with a stroller and it's hard to fit in between these tables. Definitely need more space. I need to try more and different drinks on menu. I usually stick to pandan matcha lattes.
Always a must to visit Trung Nguyen for the amazing coffee! If you're not a fan of coffee, you can always try out their Match Drinks as well! Definitely recommend this place as my family and I always look forward to visiting when in town.
Shop is known for their matcha and coffee! Their blueberry matcha is my most favorite drink they have. Croffle was good, was freshly made so it was still warm and slightly crispy. Will not be getting the banh mi que again, because of how tiny it i. Not worth for what you are paying for, but it was good getting to know what a banh mi que is. Kind staff. I've also sampled my friends' black sesame and ube cold foams, which were both tasty but imo nothing special. This place gets quite busy on the weekends, with the line frequently reaching the door, but it moves quickly! Great study/wfh spot with plenty of outlets. During peak business hours, I recommend getting here early to secure a table and bringing headphones to tune out the noise.
The shop is a bit small and the coffees are very expensive but if you're going to try one, I would recommend the egg coffee or pandan latte! My first time ever having egg coffee and it was delicious!
Came in on a Wednesday around 11 a.m. to grab coffee and camp out for some remote work. The place was packed -- every table was full -- but I lucked out and one opened up right as I was ordering. WiFi info is posted by the cashier. Interior is pretty trendy with pop music thumping in the background. Ordered an Americano and the black sesame latte. The drinks took about 10 minutes. The iced Americano (no ice requested) came out only half full, so I'm guessing the volume is capped either way. It was fine, nothing special. The black sesame latte was pretty standard -- coffee on the bottom with a thick layer of black sesame cream on top. They give you a straw, but honestly a spoon (which they don't have available) would've been better so you can actually enjoy the coffee and cream together. Their straws are a bit hard to get out of their wrappers. I noticed a few people (other than us) wrestling with their straws. I may come back to try their dine-in-only drip coffee.
After coming back a few times I realized that the service is quite inconsistent. Sometimes they don't inform of your order number so you have to camp at the pick up area along with everyone else waiting. And then other times they just bring it straight to you. Sometimes the drinks take a really long time to be made while other times the wait is reasonable. The very last time I went I asked for light ice as I was going to be moving around a lot and didn't want the melted ice to dilute the taste. I was so shocked to see that the cup was barely halfway full. That just means when you order regular ice, you're really only getting half a cup, for $6?? I stopped coming here and then my friend recently showed me they put up a disclaimer about how they put the same volume regardless of ice. This has not been my experience at other tea shops and now makes me not want to come back, which is a shame because their tea is quite good.
I decided I HAD to come by here for an egg coffee after reading all the wonderful reviews. So glad I did! The egg coffee was absolutely delicious, strong coffee flavor topped with the rich and creamy egg foam. I was greeted the second I came in which is appreciated, the staff was friendly (but not overly talkative which I like) and efficient. The shop itself is very inviting with nice, modern decor and a great playlist if I do say so myself (BLACKPINK was on). I ended up sitting at a table for awhile as the vibe was spot-on for an early Saturday morning. I'm definitely planning on returning to try more drinks (they have so many great flavors to choose from on the menu) and grab a croffle too. *It's located in an shopping center so I didn't have any issues finding parking. read more

I had the Vietnamese peanut butter coffee, and it was absolutely delicious! I was traveling through Texas for business and had been struggling to find a really good coffee spot. The hotel coffee just wasn't doing it for me! While visiting a historic district, I asked for a recommendation for a good Vietnamese coffee shop, and I was told to come here. I'm so glad I did! The place was clean, the vibe was relaxed and welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I even had a great conversation with a lovely customer who was so kind. And the Vietnamese peanut butter coffee? It did NOT disappoint! It was creamy, flavorful, and exactly the coffee I had been looking for. Fantastic place for Vietnamese Coffee, whether you want to stay in their beautifully designed store or do take-out. Very efficient and fast service. My go-to drink is the Egg Cream Phin Coffee ($8 large) - the egg cream is creamy/rich, and the over coffee is a treat, with both the coffee flavor and egg cream in balance with each other. Warning: you may not be able to sleep at night if you choose any of their e-coffees as they are strong and full of caffeine. If money and sleep were not issues, I would visit Trung Nguyen every day to get my fill of Egg Cream Phin Coffee! So delicious and good! read more

I wanted a cup coffee as soon as I got into Arlington, and this was my family's first recommendation to me! Trung Nguyen is a Vietnamese owned cafe and has plenty of Asian inspired flavors to choose from. We ordered a Pandan Cream Latte, Banana Matcha Latte, and an Iced Crème Brûlée and all were actually delicious!! You can choose the sweetness & ice levels (we got regular). I prefer my coffees slightly sweeter so this was perfect for me, however, if you like yours more bitter then you should request less sugar. The cafe is a little smaller on the inside, but quaint and clean. It seems like a popular cafe so I wouldn't recommend coming here to study/work. Staff was very respectful and kind - they also seem like they enjoy working together. I'm going to take more friends and family here when I'm back again! read more
After getting a truly filling meal nearby, we stopped by Trung Nguyen for some strong Vietnamese coffee - ideal to wake us up from the post-meal itis! The weather was gloomy and rainy. Nonetheless, there was still a line that nearly went out the door. There were two options to order - one self serve kiosk and one cashier. I got the matcha coffee. Despite the matcha being the top layer, the coffee was still the dominant flavor. Bold, chocolately, and a bit earthy. It was almost a bit too strong for my taste. The matcha added a ever so slightly nutty and sweet flavor that evened out everything. Service was fast despite the heavy crowd. Definitely recommend! read more

As I was exploring Dallas, I stumbled upon this Vietnamese coffee shop, and I knew I had to stop by. The first thing I noticed was the interior design and decoration were AMAZING. It really felt elevated, and despite the space being small, they undeniably made use of whatever space they could. I was immediately greeted by whom I presume is the owner. I took a while to decide on what drink I wanted (there were so many unique drinks; it was so hard), and he checked up on me a few times! Such great customer service. Go bold or go home, I decided, and went with the Durian Latte. I don't even know what words to use to even describe it. It was THAT good! The slight bitterness of the coffee was complemented with the sweetness of the durian, and every few sips I would be pleasantly surprised with bits of durian. It was truly such a unique drink with an interesting flavor dynamic; I've never had a drink like this. And I never found another drink like this again (not when I was in New York or Atlanta). I will definitely come back to this place if I am ever back in Dallas again! I know durian isn't for everyone, but if you love durian, you have to try this drink. read more

I'm actually obsessed. My mango matcha was soooo good. A great matcha flavor and such a nice combo with the mango. The egg coffee blew my socks off. I was hesitant at first but when you mix it in its like a creamy sweetness (kinda like creme brulee) andit balances out the strong vietnamese coffee. They have so many other flavors I gotta try them all. Quality is 10/10. Service is great and the inside is cute. They have a few tables if you want to sit. read more
ORDER I ordered the Vietnamese egg coffee which is one of my favorite drinks! The coffee here is so strong and the egg cream is absolutely delicious! It's fluffy and not too sweet, contrasting well with the strong coffee! When I was in Vietnam I loved egg coffee and missed it so much, but now I can enjoy it here! VIBES The place is pretty small. Lots of people grab and go. There are a couple small tables and chairs for sitting as well as a couch and some tables. A very clean look with simple design and I love the natural colors. Ordered the banana matcha latte and that was by far the best one I've had in a long time. The purée was very good not too overpowering and there was some bits of banana here and there that gave a good burst of flavor to the matcha. Definitely one of the strongest matchas I've ever had too. Not watery at all and smooth. The ambiance was clean and service was great as well. A nice guy walked my drink to me and was very pleasant. This place has been opened for a couple of months and it's been close to perfection. I love that this place is open at 7am. Personally I like coming early because as the day goes on, it gets insanely hectic. Sundays after 10am? Madhouse here! The coffees are STRONG. Like you'll want to go run a couple miles. But the flavor is delightful and my personal favorite is the Sesame coffee. If you have families that prefer hot drinks, the traditional Phin Milk Coffee is the way to go. Bonus tip: You can ask to adjust the sweetness of the coffee. Enjoy your elevated heart rate! read more

I've been to the OC location before and was so excited to try this spot while visiting Dallas with my friends! The quality and flavors were just as amazing here--the consistency between locations is impressive. We ordered the egg coffee, cocoa coconut coffee, peanut butter coffee, and the blended coconut coffee. Every drink was rich, unique, and delicious--it's fun that they have such creative options beyond your typical coffee menu. Even though there was a long line, our drinks were ready in under 10 minutes, which was such a pleasant surprise. Stopped by Trung Nguyen E-Coffee in Carrollton and really enjoyed it. I got the black sesame coffee, which was pretty good but hard to mix the foam and the coffee flavors for it to be balanced. My friend ordered the matcha ube and it was just as good according to her. There was no line when we went, service was quick, and the shop had cute Christmas decorations that made the space feel cozy. LOVE Trung Nguyen coffee! Once you've had Vietnamese coffee you can't go back to regular coffee. This brings me back to the motherland. The coffee is strong and delicious. My favorite is actually the corn coffee which sounds totally weird but it WORKS. If you're Vietnamese then you know what corn milk (sua bap) is and it tastes like coffee and corn milk essentially. My husband likes the egg coffee. We don't love the prices but this ain't Vietnam lol. read more

I've been here a few times since they opened, but I always seem to forget to get pictures of the menu. The workers are always super nice and friendly I love going there. Omg I LOVE the decor inside, it looks so minimal and so modern. I've been to the other franchises in cali, and I'm so glad they finally opened up one here in the DFW area. The picture that I got cause I remembered was their new pandan matcha, and I thought that it was pretty good. The pandan went so well with the matcha flavor. Their social media rep (aka the owner or manager) provided misinformation but otherwise it was a great experience and the baristas were all super friendly and amazing at what they do! Great experience in store for soft opening. Employees were very professional and the coffee was amazing. The flavor of the Egg Coffee ($7) was super rich, creamy, sweet, and strong! The Black Phin Coffee - Ca Phe Den ($4.50) was also a really thick and rich earthy flavor. Both were really strong without being too bitter. Their coffee generally is a little more on the acidic side but still really amazing coffee and the different items on the menu like black sesame, corn and banana coffee were really intriguing. My friends and I came here three times in two days, so that should be enough to tell you how much we loved Trung Nguyen E-Coffee. Their Vietnamese coffee, matcha, corn latte, and croffle were all delicious. Literally zero notes. It's a really cute cafe, and there were some people studying inside when we visited each time. Drinks are some of the best in Dallas, and it's definitely a good spot to grab a coffee or matcha if you're in the area. read more

Yummy.... so glad theres finally a good viet coffee spot in carrollton :") ive been twice - the first time i tried the banana coffee and the egg coffee and both were good! I liked the banana coffee better bc it wasnt super sweet! Egg coffee is good too but i might have to give it another try for a better review of it heh Second time i went here we got the pandan coffee, corn coffee, coconut blended coffee, and the peanut butter coffee!! My favorite is probably the pandan coffee c: id say the drinks were a liiittle on the sweet side but not terribly sweet! The flavor of each drink really came through and the coffee flavor comes through v nice and strong - theyre all def worth a try!
