The sun yellow walls will feature collabs (currently featuring Peanuts), and there's plenty of comfortable seating in the narrow shop. It's hard not to smile or be transported into a good mood when you enter. 1 Star. Service - The staff is very nice and super helpful. If you already know what you want, you can order directly from the kiosk. I asked the staff for help, and they were very patient and helped make many recommendations. Once you place your order, your drink will be crafted, and then your name called when it's ready. 1 Star. Food - I ordered the Hojicha Cold Foam Latte. The first thing I noticed was how smooth it was. The second thing I noticed was it had a caffeine kick.... almost like drinking coffee. It's lighter than a coffee latte and not as grassy as green tea. It tastes familiar, comforting, and very refreshing for an iced drink. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. The drinks were good overall! I ordered them at 50% sweetness, and that was the perfect level for me--not too sweet and it let the matcha flavor shine through. I tried the guava matcha, and while the combination was decent, it didn't quite wow me. The blueberry foam matcha, on the other hand, was so much better! The soft serve was really really good, the slight bitterness alongside the sweet ice cream was a perfect blend. One thing i didn't like about this place was that it was really hot/humid inside. I enjoyed the drink more after giving the foam time to settle in with the rest of the matcha. It was sweet and creamy, but I wish more of the saltiness shone through. I think I'll be sticking to their guava or Madagascar vanilla matcha, personally - more flavor and bang for your buck. My friend and I went to this café because of their snoopy collaboration. We were very excited to get stickers, drinks, and other merch. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the café, they had sold out of a lot of of their product. We were able to secure some drinks, but there was no other Snoopy merchandise to purchase. I've been dreading writing this review because I was so excited to try the drinks here. But I was a bit disappointed. I say "a bit" because things felt all over the place to me. Let's get the laundry list nailed down so it seems organized and not disjointed lol Vibes: the place is actually really cute inside! There's plenty of parking since they share the spacious lot with plenty of other businesses. The only problem is that once you're inside, all I could smell is stale cigarette smoke. Super off-putting :/ Drinks: I tried the cold strawberry matcha latte and the cold strawberry jasmine green tea. The boba was pretty good. But both drinks were mediocre after that. Being a matcha shop, I was surprised at how faint the matcha flavor was. There was no punch and it was all surface. For anyone that doesn't like a strong matcha, this is your place. I've had my share of matcha lattes at various places across the country and this wasn't my favorite. I guess if I had to compare, it's most like getting matcha at Starbucks. Even the jasmine tea, top notes were there and floral, but the actual tea taste fell flat for me also. I wish I could give more stars, but I can't. I was so excited to try Junbi because my brother took me by the one in Princeton, NJ and we never went in while we explored the area around the university. I bookmarked this one and kind of begged Eric R. to take an excursion with me to Mitsuwa and Junbi this afternoon. Funnily enough, as I wrote this review I saw I had previously taken photos here and it says it was my second check-in today, so now I realize I was here over two years go and forgot to remove it from my bookmarks! Eric R. is not into these types of drinks much, but he was a willing participant today. It was so hot, and when we walked in, Anne was kind and gave us lots of information and a free sample of our choice of flavors of soft serve! I had matcha and Eric R. had matcha and vanilla swirl. He ordered the blended hojicha with boba, and I got the yuzu dragonfruit green tea and a mentaiko onigiri. Anne also told me that the matcha is grown in Uji Japan at a tea farm owned by Junbi! There were two kinds of ceremonial matcha powder for sale, and I said YOLO and got the premium one to take home since I have been making matcha daily when I am back in Kansas. It was nice to be able to lessen the sweetener in drinks, and there are endless possibilities of things to try here when I can get back! My go-to is the strawberry matcha latte with boba and the matcha soft serve topped with boba and a drizzle of chocolate... absolute heaven in a cup. In the past, I've also tried the Madagascar vanilla, and honestly, no matter what you order here it's always delicious. I always go for the iced Matcha latte in the summer because it is creamy, refreshing, and made just right every time. This place gets bonus points for consistency! There are even a few tables out front if you're into fresh air and judgmental squirrels. Ordering is a breeze there's a kiosk if you want to avoid human interaction, but usually there's a friendly face at the register ready to take your order without judgment, even if it's your third visit that week. ;) Let's talk about the matcha ice cream: it's rich, creamy, and honestly kind of luxurious. I like to throw in some aloe bits because I live on the edge and also, it just tastes really good together. Now for my one teeny-tiny gripe: while the Hojicha is good, it doesn't quite hit peak freshness compared to another mystery café in Richardson I frequent (I won't name names, but they know who they are). I live so far but I've lost count of how many times I've been here. I always always get the guava cold brew matcha and it's so good! I hope one day they bring back the Magic Matcha from all those years ago but I can only hope :'(.
