Junbi, I thought our rocky past was through? I finally learned to trust you... But then one day, with great surprise, You pulled a stunt before my eyes. I ordered a drink, prepared for delight, Only to discover something wasn't quite right. My cup arrived, and to my dismay, It was the same size as the succulent on display! You charged the same price, but gave half the pour, a math problem customers won't ignore. Matcha is everywhere, haven't you heard? On every corner, in every suburb. Even Starbucks has entered the game, And somehow you think you're not the same. Instead of shrinking drinks and testing our faith, Why not let your prices match their petite little shape? Farewell, Junbi.
This place is more like a 3.75 out of 5 stars. Even tho this place is a chain, i'm still reviewing it. I'm really glad DFW has a location, although not too close to me, it was still worth the trek. We ended up getting two matcha drinks along with a mango and match softserve. the drinks along with the matcha soft serve hit the spot on the warm texas day. The soft serve was really really good, the slight bitterness alongside the sweet ice cream was a perfect blend. One thing i didn't like about this place was that it was really hot/humid inside. It felt like the AC wasn't on, or it was broken. In texas, you definitely need to have running AC.
My friend and I went to this café because of their snoopy collaboration. We were very excited to get stickers, drinks, and other merch. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the café, they had sold out of a lot of of their product. We were able to secure some drinks, but there was no other Snoopy merchandise to purchase. The staff was still friendly and able to give us good drinks. I enjoyed the Matcha mixed with the chocolate flavors, but was disappointed to not get the snoopy merchandise we came for. I am hopeful they restock and we can try again!
Always top notch matcha in town, however they just resized their cup to way smaller size :( still love it but sad
The drinks were good overall! I ordered them at 50% sweetness, and that was the perfect level for me--not too sweet and it let the matcha flavor shine through. I tried the guava matcha, and while the combination was decent, it didn't quite wow me. The blueberry foam matcha, on the other hand, was so much better! The blueberry foam paired really well with the matcha and made for a much more enjoyable drink. I'd definitely come back for that one.
I've been dreading writing this review because I was so excited to try the drinks here. But I was a bit disappointed. I say "a bit" because things felt all over the place to me. Let's get the laundry list nailed down so it seems organized and not disjointed lol Vibes: the place is actually really cute inside! There's plenty of parking since they share the spacious lot with plenty of other businesses. The only problem is that once you're inside, all I could smell is stale cigarette smoke. Super off-putting :/ Drinks: I tried the cold strawberry matcha latte and the cold strawberry jasmine green tea. The boba was pretty good. But both drinks were mediocre after that. Being a matcha shop, I was surprised at how faint the matcha flavor was. There was no punch and it was all surface. For anyone that doesn't like a strong matcha, this is your place. I've had my share of matcha lattes at various places across the country and this wasn't my favorite. I guess if I had to compare, it's most like getting matcha at Starbucks. Even the jasmine tea, top notes were there and floral, but the actual tea taste fell flat for me also. I wish I could give more stars, but I can't. The girls there were welcoming and helpful when I picked up my mobile order. Not sure I would be back unless they moved to a new location and brewed stronger teas. But to each their own.
I enjoyed the drink more after giving the foam time to settle in with the rest of the matcha. It was sweet and creamy, but I wish more of the saltiness shone through. I think I'll be sticking to their guava or Madagascar vanilla matcha, personally - more flavor and bang for your buck. Service was fast, and there's always plenty of seating both inside and outside.
Loved this place! I tried the regular matcha latte with oat milk and 0 sweetness over ice. It was super good!! tasty and creamy, and I could tell the matcha was high quality. I really like the decor and signs inside for photo opps, as well as the merch they were selling. I really really liked the matcha long sleeve sweatshirt- I was debating on buying it and now regret not doing so! I'll definitely buy it when I'm back though The service was fast too. Really late this place. It was very busy so I took my order to go. The inside is decorated with lots of signs and phrases. Very colorful and casual inside. Also a modern look. Drinks were definitely worth the price. Very tasty and refreshing.
I was so excited to try Junbi because my brother took me by the one in Princeton, NJ and we never went in while we explored the area around the university. I bookmarked this one and kind of begged Eric R. to take an excursion with me to Mitsuwa and Junbi this afternoon. Funnily enough, as I wrote this review I saw I had previously taken photos here and it says it was my second check-in today, so now I realize I was here over two years go and forgot to remove it from my bookmarks! Eric R. is not into these types of drinks much, but he was a willing participant today. It was so hot, and when we walked in, Anne was kind and gave us lots of information and a free sample of our choice of flavors of soft serve! I had matcha and Eric R. had matcha and vanilla swirl. He ordered the blended hojicha with boba, and I got the yuzu dragonfruit green tea and a mentaiko onigiri. Anne also told me that the matcha is grown in Uji Japan at a tea farm owned by Junbi! There were two kinds of ceremonial matcha powder for sale, and I said YOLO and got the premium one to take home since I have been making matcha daily when I am back in Kansas. It was nice to be able to lessen the sweetener in drinks, and there are endless possibilities of things to try here when I can get back! (Two years ago I saw that I ordered a milky matcha unsweetened and also got a mentaiko onigiri! I guess I am consistent with the snack)!

This is one of my go to spots for Matcha, especially their soft serve! The Matcha is so rich as they use ceremonial grade Matcha. I have invited many peers to try it, and they all love it as well. Honorable mention is their crab rolls that are so flavorful and delicious. You will not be disappointed with whatever you order as a service is amazing. The establishment is very clean and there is ample amount of parking in this lot.
Good good Macha. I enjoyed the flavors. They have different unique flavors every so often. Or you can order them cashier personally I kinda like the iPad so you can actually see the full menu up close. They have board games and group seating, but a little small. The specialty drinks or on the pricey side.
They have a wide selection of flavored matcha milk teas, which can be fun. There are also cold brews and small snacks you can grab. The ambiance is nice and there's a bunch of cute decorations scattered throughout the place. They do charge $1.25 if you swap the dairy with oat milk, which is a bit pricey in my opinion. I ended up paying $10 for a strawberry matcha latte, so overall, this shop is a bit more expensive than other boba shops I've been to. read more

Not your typical boba joint! Their specialty is matcha soft serve. Don't be afraid to experiment! The drinks are surprisingly well matched and the soft serve goes with much more of the flavors than I expected. I thought i was going out on a limb ordering the fresca (matcha with strawberry puree) but it went together beautifully. It had my questioning reality and how many other items matcha can go with. My friend had ordered some fruit puree with soft serve matcha with cacao nibs and i honestly thought it was very frankensteiny but it wasnt. It really did work. Service was on point! Cute, casual set up. Price point is on par with other boba places. Highly recommend! read more
Bright decor, nice tables and seats and aesthetics! I ordered the salmon onigiri which was the most flavorful one I've tried. I believe I tasted furikake in it which was yummy. Would definitely be ordering this again. I do wish it was bigger for the price ($3-4) as usual onigiri is bigger at other places. The matcha drink was also good and refreshing. If you are looking for a matcha based drink thats sweet (can be modified) and has no dairy in it, this is a great option. I didn't need the boba as an add-in at all! I can't wait to come back and try the milky drinks and the blended drinks. A little too loud to "wfh" here but I did come on the weekend so your experience might be different if you do come during the week. Parking is ample in the strip mall with quite a few food places around. read more

Customer service was superb! I stopped in because I heard they had matcha lemonade. Sadly it's a summer drink, so they don't have it yet. The owner, Tony helped me pick a replace, yuzu dragon fruit matcha. It was for my daughter, and she liked it! I was craving a coffee drink, but they sell tell, so he recommended the black tea. I told him I didn't want it too sweet, so he suggested 1oz of sweetener. It was perfect and didn't raise my blood sugar. They made a drink in error and he gave it to me for free. I gave that to my husband who enjoyed it. I can't say enough about the customer service. I will return based on that alone, but also for the drinks. It's a cute spot too. read more
terrific matcha, great quality and yummy/diverse choices! the matcha soft serve is THE BEST i've ever had. my go to is the rose water matcha latte with oat milk (ohh it's a dream). i've tried the banana caramel matcha latte and madagascar vanilla matcha latte as well and they are scrumptious treats. service is always SO QUICK. ambience is seasonal and very cutesy, i love the themes they decorate the place with! however, i got the strawberry chrysanthemum tea once and it tasted solely of melted plastic. since then, i just stick to the matcha and it NEVER happened with those. only the iced tea. i'm thinking maybe plastic got into the brewed tea somehow or there was a problem with storage? no clue. it was so odd. it was undrinkable so i went back and got my money back for it. nevertheless, i'm always coming back for matcha lattes and matcha soft serve read more

One word to describe Junbi matcha is SO GOOD (actually 2 words) . It's so hard to find good quality matcha in the dfw area and has by far beat all the other matcha competitions nearby. Their matcha tins are great quality and affordable allowing their customers to enjoy matcha at home! The customer service and diversity is great! I REALLY really wanted to like Junbi.. unfortunately, I've had a pretty hit-or-miss experience with what I've tried from here (5 visits). Here are my thoughts, starting from best to worst. Matcha Affogato Ice cream: The Junbi ice cream is spectacular. It's delightfully creamy and not too sweet. The matcha was pretty legit as I had a crazy energy spike after I ate the ice cream. I added boba pearls to mine, which didn't have the best texture. 4.5/5 Onigiri Flight: The flavors and individual ingredients are incredibly tasty. My favorite was the mentaiko filling, but all 3 (spam & egg and salmon are the other 2) are noteworthy. I could tell mines was made with freshly cooked rice, but assembly was sloppy. The onigiris fell apart easily and were messy to eat. 4.5/5, but a 5/5 if they were assembled better. Mochi donut: I tried the Ube flavor. It was an average tasting mochi donut. I think I would've liked it more had it been slightly warmed up. 3.5/5. Onto the core menu offerings: the drinks. Firstly, matcha is a finicky ingredient, and it's rare to find a shop that prepares it well. On a positive note, the matcha was blended well into the drinks. Most places fail to do that, leaving behind a clumpy drink. However, that being said, I still wasn't a fan of the taste of the drinks. Based on other reviews, some people have mentioned a quality consistently problem, which may explain why I didn't care for the drinks. Strawberry Matcha: The biggest offender is that it was too sweet. I couldn't really taste the matcha nor the strawberry flavor. I also added boba pearls to mine, which didn't have the best texture. 2.5/5 Yuzu Dragon Fruit Matcha: I had really high hopes for this one because the flavor combinations sound awesome. Again, I had the same problem with the strawberry matcha where I felt like all the flavors got lost. I also added the lychee fruit pieces topping to my order. I can't tell if they used fresh lychee or canned, but the texture of the lychee was really unpleasant and ruined the whole drink for me. The lychee had a lot of tough fibers. 2/5 Dirty Earl Gray Tea: overall just didn't like the taste of the drink. The drink lacked creaminess of a good dirty tea. The earl gray tea tasted bitter. Also added boba pearls, which the texture was not good once again. 1/5 To end the review on a positive note, I love the Junbi design and branding. It'a a solid place to work/study. And they have a bidet in the bathroom!! How cool is that? read more
I really wanted Japanese Matcha ice cream that I needed to look it up while we were out black Friday shopping. The place itself was nice and clean on the inside and I love the atmosphere as it was really inviting. There is a self ordering machine on the right hand side and a regular cashier. It is a smart idea just in case the line gets lacked up. They have a good selection of items to order like the mochi donut, soft serve and drinks. I ordered the black sesame and matcha ice cream with the boba. My wife ordered the matcha drink. The ice cream was a little disappointing to me as I made better. I think the ice cream was pretty icey and not very creamy. The black sesame you can barely taste and we thought it was a vanilla mix instead of the black. The drink was alright. Visit: August 2021 I wish they had this concept in the bay area (or maybe there is now?) where it's just a matcha drink shop. I'm rounding up from 3.5 to 4 because of the idea, but some of the drinks were eh to me. Justin was hella greedy and ordered 5 drinks for the 3 of us, LOL. Besides matcha drinks, there are also "classics" and "coffee", and "refreshing". We ordered: 1) Blueberry matcha ($5.25): probably the most memorable of the few I had 2) Yuzu dragon fruit matcha ($6): ehhh would prob skip 3) Strawberry matcha ($5.25): ehhhhh I think my standards have changed for this drink. I like the Boba Guys version better. 4) Aloe matcha ($4.75): ehhh skip 5) Mango matcha ($5.25): ehhh okay? We also got to sample the ceremonial grade matcha since it would be very greedy of us to order a huge cup of this and maybe not like it (but why didn't we think about this for the other drinks, lol). Overall, the drinks are definitely on the lighter side, which is great if you are looking for something refreshing instead of heavy. Maybe I was too full so i couldn't enjoy it. Next time I might just stick to a more normal matcha drink. read more
the drinks have definitely gotten sweeter over the past few years, but they do offer non/less sweet modifications. my favorite is the mango matcha cold brew , made less sweet with no milk. delicious if you're a mango lover! the service was prompt and friendly, with some seating. the location felt clean and i'm wanting to come again soon to try the soft serve! read more

The inside of Junbi is simple yet aesthetically pleasing. There are self kiosks, which is always a plus for an introvert like me. I got the matcha with milk with regular ice and sugar. I think it would taste even better if there was more sugar. The taste is as expected-matcha! If you like matcha then you'll like this place. It was really hard to poke a hole with my straw. The straw was really bent. They also have onigiri available but I didn't get it because they were out of furikake. read more

First time here (with my repeat customer daughter) and I loved it. Went with vanilla soft serve w/cocoa dust and granola- perfection. Next time I'll beach out with the swirl of matcha and vanilla with a fruit puree. Ambiance was chill, we ordered on iPads and order was called quickly. Check out the bathroom for a fun surprise. I found this place and was excited to try it. Being as they specialize in matcha and had several options with added syrups/sugars, I assumed the regular matcha would not be sweetened. I ordered the basic matcha with coconut milk and my mom ordered the mango matcha because it had fresh fruit in it. She is undergoing chemo and not able to have sugar. We specifically chose two options that did not have added sugars and I confirmed that when I ordered. I didn't get to try it until I was back at her chemo appointment with her and they were both loaded with sugar. I tried contacting them but no one answered. Just disappointed that it did not disclose that it is sweetened matcha on the menu and was not told to me at the register. A big waste of nearly $15 that we could not enjoy. Well it does have matcha in it's name so you'd think to come here for the matcha right? I'm a boba fiend so I wanted to see how their milk tea compared to other spots. I have three friends who went to Texas during the summer and raved about Junbi. They had to have come at minimum 5 times during their one week visit. This definitely set the bar high for me as I would continue to hear them mention Junbi but I didn't know what they ordered. Apparently the ice cream is super good here too, but I did not get a chance to try it. My partner snagged the mango matcha while I opted for the jasmine milk tea with boba. I'll start with the mango matcha being really good and blended smoothly. Super light and refreshing drink. She enjoyed it too for her first matcha experience. However, my main drink was the jasmine milk tea which I found to be pretty average (hence 3 stars) and comparable to any other average spot I've been to. Boba was chewy, but lacked flavor. Definitely a matcha spot, not really anything special in the milk tea department. With that in mind, if I'm ever in Texas again I will definitely be back to get one of their specialties. read more

First time to Junbi. I got the Madagascar Vanilla Matcha, the matcha flavored seemed watered down but that might be due to the flavor I got. Based on these reviews I'll have to try the ceremonial matcha tea next. They have ice cream and rice balls which I didn't get a chance to try. I came in at 11 and it wasn't packed at all. Drinks came out in under 10 minutes. read more

If you're a matcha aficionado, Junbi Matcha is a MUST! Their matcha is DANK and the real deal. Not overly floral or grassy, just pure matchaness. Their soft serve is the right level of smooth, creaminess and pure flavor. They have so many drinks to choose from (meaning y'all need to make multiple trips!!). On this occasion, we opted for the mango matcha drink - not too sweet, perfect blend of fruity mango with the matcha tea for a just right, refreshing treat. February's seasonal drink is a white chocolate raspberry matcha - and it is AMAZIIIING. Definitely dessert-y but this is seriously a game changer. I got the "dirty" version meaning it had some coffee in it - gave a nice caffeine boost with the coffee + matcha. Though sweet, the bitter of the coffee and matcha really balances it out. I am absolutely going to frequent Junbi anytime I am in the area, and I recommend you do the same! read more

ahh why can't they have more Junbi stores around the Dallas area! I live too far from here to try more of their drinks but the first time was definitely a great first impression ! At first sight of the menu I was like.."strawberry and matcha?...meh..." but actually it was so good haha Apparently their matcha is real and not that cheap powder crap. I love their system of how we order our drinks. We use a small tablet thing and choose what drinks we want and can add toppings and change the type of milk we want. The cup sizes were very big and I'm a slow drinker so it took a while for me to finish haha I highly recommend this place if you like matcha...real matcha :) read more
This place is brand new. Hats off to them for opening a new place at what we all hope is the tail end of the pandemic. The gentleman at the counter who took my order said Junbi had only been open for a month. Their Grand Opening is scheduled to take place in two weeks. My initial impression was, "Oh yay, a boba tea place!" The four, bright yellow tables outside where you can hangout with friends physically distanced from others caught my eye immediately. The inside is sleek and modern. While matcha seems to be the highlight here, I opted for jasmine tea with boba. The tea was strong, but tasted almost as if it had brewed a little too long. The flavors of my milk tea just didn't seem to meld well. However, the boba were small in size which made it much easier to suck up through the straw. Also, the boba were cooked correctly and did not stick to each other which seems to be a common problem at other places. I don't think I would order jasmine tea here again, but I would be willing to try one of their matcha drinks. I was told the Yuzu Dragon Fruit Matcha is the most popular thing on the menu at the moment. It is n my radar for next time. read more

I really enjoyed my yuzu dragonfruit matcha drink and would order again. It wasn't too sweet. Also there's so many other drinks that I wish I could have tried... Only downside was it is super expensive and was $8 after tax and tip. read more
Top tier ceremonial grade matcha! Definitely recommend the matcha soft serve ice cream. The drinks were nice and cold. Junbi cold drinks paired with hot weather makes the day better! Great place to study as well. Music is pretty chill. read more
Junbi just opened up about five minutes away from my apartment, so of course as a lover of matcha I had to come and try it. I really wanted to try the yuzu dragonfruit drink, but they unfortunately don't have the ingredients for it at this location yet (the cashier mentioned that the store would be getting it at the end of the week, so look out for that!) so instead I tried the strawberry matcha, no ice and full sweetness. I usually get half sweetness or 70% sweetness at most of the other boba places in the area, but the full sweetness at Junbi is pretty good, not too sweet, and the matcha flavor is very apparent while also blending well with the various flavors! I also tried their onigiri flight and it was delicious. Super fresh and made to order, great ratio of rice to filling, and the mentaiko has quite a nice kick. I also really appreciated the touch of packing the nori sheets in a separate bag, so they don't get soggy in transport if you're not going to be eating the food immediately. Excited that this is so close and convenient, and I'm looking forward to coming back frequently for my matcha fix, and maybe to try some of the other stuff on the menu! It is a small and cute store that sells misc items like matcha tins, whisks... We were recommended the madagascar vanilla matcha milk and the strawberry one. We got the vanilla one with normal everything. The drink is pretty light and has a nice consistency instead of being real milky. You can really taste the matcha. read more
