Junbi Matcha - Richardson - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Richardson, Texas

I came here without knowing anything except that it was affiliated with JK Films. I stayed for the phenomenal flavors and of course for the matcha madness. The menu looked so fancy and unique compared to other boba shops, but eventually, we decided on the strawberry matcha w/ milk and the Madagascar vanilla matcha w/ milk + almond jelly both less sweet and DAMN were we blown away since I had zero expectations. Next time, I'll probably go for 50% sweet too, anything more might overshadow the mellow matcha flavor. If I lived closer, I'd come here almost every day, hands down. read more

A friend recommended I try Junbi. As soon as I walked in the door, I loved the simple decor. It looks and feels clean and fresh. The menu had so many options for matcha, it was hard to pick one. The staff was very helpful so I was not disappointed in my selection. Fresh ingredients and refreshing flavors. I look forward to going back again! read more

First time visiting Junbi & I am a huge fan!!! I absolutely loved my experience and the offerings of matcha. The space was larger than expected and had so much seating both indoor and outdoor. The staff was super kind & I asked to sample Hojicha and was able to get a small sample! I'm pleased with the service and my matchas that I purchased. I ordered the Madagascar vanilla iced matcha made with almond milk. The sweetness did not over power my matcha which is what I really look for in matcha drinks. It truly was made with love! I also enjoyed the matcha affogato! read more

I love this place but I wish they had more locations and opened earlier lol Matacha is amazing

I'm from the SF bay area and I'm so sad we don't have a Junbi Matcha here! I've had it while visiting Portland and LA in the past, and had wonderful drinks so I knew I needed to stop by here. I rarely see guava offered on boba shop's menus, so I got the guava matcha. It did not disappoint! It was so good. The quality of the matcha is amazing. I was a bit sad that they ran out of boba when I got there. They said it would take another 20 minutes to cook but I really needed to grab the drink and go. I'm sure the boba would've been good, so no stars deducted. The store itself is super cute with some matcha powder and products displayed against the walls. The colors of the walls are also so inviting and fun! read more

Happened to be at pure barre next door for a workout and wanted something refreshing so stepped into Junbi and tried their earl grey honey lavender which is a seasonal drink and is DELICIOUS. As an avid tea drinker, I can tell it's some high quality tea they use . The price is a bit astronomical - $7 , so can't see myself having this everyday lol but would absolutely stop in again :) read more

Had to drop by here for some matcha since they don't have junbi on the east coast. This is a cute, bright location. We came midday during a storm so it was quiet. There is ample seating, outlets, and a bathroom. It looks like a good place to get your work done. We ordered the strawberry fresca, blueberry matcha milk tea, and the matcha soft serve. I had the matcha soft serve and it was the perfect amount of matcha flavor. It was a pretty big cup so I barely finished it. I also bought a sticker as a souvenir. read more

Never been to a junbi before and I believe their other locations are on the West Coast, so I was definitely super excited when I saw that they had opened one near! Inside is very well decorated, bright, colorful, and very clean! The workers were super nice and helped us right away with any questions or suggestions. We decided to try 3 drinks: Yuzu Dragon Fruirt Matcha Mango Matcha Blueberry Matcha All were really different options/combinations with matcha that we've never tried before. The yuzu dragon fruit one was the only one that did not have any dairy. It was a super delicious and refreshing drink. A little bit light on the matcha flavor, but you can definitely taste the yuzu! I really enjoyed this and would probably get it again when I'm craving something not too heavy. Mango matcha had a very strong mango flavor. I really enjoyed this combination and thought the flavors were unique but very good. The only thing I didn't enjoy so much was the "hairyness" of the mango pulp mixed into the drink. Blueberry matcha had a more strong matcha flavor than blueberry, but you can definitely tell there is blueberry. This drink overall was a bit lighter in flavor than the other two, and would probably be my last pick from our selection. I felt the other drinks had a better complement with matcha than blueberry did, but definitely worth a try if you are a blueberry lover! read more

One of the best matcha drinks I ever had. I have been wanted to try their drinks since the pandemic. Recently this year I have been visiting Dallas and of course, Junbi was my "must go to". I kept seeing Junbi pop up on my IG explore page and I only saw their California location. But how did I not know they had a location in Texas?! This was my first stop on my weekend trip to Dallas and the yellow interior with all that natural lighting just perked me up. I had the Matcha latte with regular milk so I can taste the grassy notes. Usually choosing oat milk or almond milk takes away that subtle matcha flavor I enjoy. The drink was smooth and alluring. The boba was lightly sweetened and didn't take away from the drink either. The second day, I went for the Madagascar vanilla matcha with whole milk and the balance between the two flavors was surprising. It's hard to have an equal balance when you choose mixed flavors but they somehow did it. I still prefer the Matcha latte just a bit more. I've been dying to do another weekend road trip just to come back here. I'd be an absolute slut for Junbi if I lived in Dallas but since I'm not, I'll be planning my next visit. read more

I have never been the kind of person to leave a review because i have worked in food service and the coffee industry for years. So i always give the benefit of the doubt. This time i feel the need to share my experience. When i came in there was only one couple who had already ordered. I was looking at their menu and spotted a Yuzu dragon fruit cold brew or something and i wanted to try that with matcha instead. So when i ordered i asked if i could do match instead of cold brew, and i was hit with a look of confusion and was told " We don't really do that with matcha because the fruits syrups don't mix well with the milk" Now i know that fruit syrups will curdle dairy products. So i asked to do it with oat milk and our interaction was pretty much over after that. Whatever i looked past it. About two groups of three people came in after me and ordered after me. And yet i waited about 15-20 minutes for my one drink. While the two groups of people who got there after me got all of their drinks before me. There were three people working so i am a bit disappointed with how long it took for the drinks to be served. The matcha was good quality but the employees need some work. my drink was for to go. read more

So yummy!!! The service was great and extremely welcoming and attentive. Super cute and clean space. I ordered a lavender honey iced matcha (less sweet) and thought it was fantastic. It was still pretty sweet so I may go with no sweetness next time, but that is personal preference. Give it a try read more

Got the strawberry matcha fresca and ordered it with regular ice and sweetness. Wasn't too sweet once mixed in (the sweetness comes from the strawberry mixture at the bottom). While the color of the matcha was nice it didn't have much of a matcha taste and felt watered down. For $5.50 I expected more...the packaging was a very thick and sturdy plastic though haha. It was certainly refreshing on a hot summer day...maybe their soft serve is better? read more

It's smaller than I thought it would be, but still could be a place to come do work. I didn't see the WiFi password around but I did see people working and they do have a connection. Average price of drinks is $5.50 probably. The milky ones are more expensive than the "Fresca" (regular tea) ones. Their magic matcha drink for $7 seems a bit of an overkill. You can put add ons like boba for extra cost. Got the matcha Madagascar vanilla for $5.75 and you can taste the splash of milk. I said no sweetness for mine and it still tasted sweet probably from the vanilla. I enjoyed. It was pretty large though and you could definitely split it with someone. It definitely feels picture worthy too. Not an everyday thing for me. Definitely once in a while if I decide to come back. read more

Wish this place was closer to where we live! I've been meaning to try this place after following the owner on their instagram and it didn't disappoint. I was really impressed with their branding, drink presentation and prices! Most places charge $1 for milk sub or add-ons, but this place only charged 50 cents! I was really surprised by that! I ended up getting one of the recommendations and it was delicious! After shaking the drink it looked a little like swamp water, but out of the three we ordered, mine ended up tasting the best LOL! Would definitely come back :) read more

If you're a matcha lover I would highly recommend going to Junbi, double if you're a UTD student as it's also pretty close to campus. Overall I'd rate this place 8s/10, they have great boba options and some delicious onigiri as well. Sadly this place doesn't have immaculate study vibes, so don't plan on coming here to get some work done. Sadly they were out of furikake for the onigiri when I got it, so I have to give it a 7/10. There definitely was a need for seasoning/salt. Otherwise the salmon filling was pretty good, you can't really mess up a ball of rice. I also had the earl grey milk tea, which is my go to for most boba places. 8/10 would recommend. read more

Been here a number of times, service is always ok. This time I came after work to pick up something to drink before heading home and boy... I was the only person in there, ordered 2 matcha drinks and the rice balls, it took 20 minutes. Then when I carried my drinks out the lid wasn't even sealed and the drink spilled. A little annoying to wait that long and your cup sealer isn't even working. Giving 3 stars, since usually it's not this bad. I guess people should shake up the drinks because your drink will spill everywhere read more

Junbi Matcha is probably the best matcha I have ever had. They have a great selection of drinks and the matcha ice cream is fantastic! Get the matcha powder dust if you try the ice cream, it's a brilliant topping. The location is a little small, but the staff are always friendly and helpful. I have been here at least a dozen times, and I have had a few issues with order accuracy, but it has always been promptly corrected. The parking lot is a nightmare so be prepared, there are a lot of businesses, and I don't think there is sufficient parking so it's hectic 9 times out of 10. Overall, great matcha, great staff, and a great place! read more

Very good matcha! I get less sweet because the regular sweet is too sweet for me. It's not overly sweet at all, I just have less sweet tolerance so I recommend getting sweets starting out. I tried the flight of rice balls for $9 here which had spam and egg, salmon, and mentaiko. The salmon one was my favorite while the mentaiko was my least favorite. Since I'm not a matcha fan, I opted for the rice balls instead. These make for a great snack and were individually wrapped which made it easy to bring anywhere without the seaweed getting soggy. This place is finally here in Dallas!!! I love their matcha~ so different from the other matcha I've tasted. You could taste the authentic matcha (not overpowered by sweetness like other places) and it combines so well with whatever they add do it. I usually get their yuzu dragonfruit matcha (tangy)- $6 or their strawberry matcha fresca- $5. So refreshing and the perfect amount of both matcha and fruit. They have a variety of matcha drinks- milky, refreshing as well as the classic loose leaf teas. There's also coffee, rice balls, and soft serve. read more

So my four star review isn't for the drinks it is for affogato omg it's so good. Was my first time trying affogato and it works so well with the matcha flavor. The drinks are just mid and kinda expensive and overrated but the soft affogato really makes up for everything. read more

I tried their Blueberry Matcha (less sweet with oatmilk), Yuzu Dragon Fruit Matcha, Daily Ceremonial Matcha (default sweetness), and all 3 rice balls (Salmon, Spam & Egg, Mentaiko). I recommend the blueberry and ceremonial matcha, but at half sweetness. I would only get the Spam & Egg rice ball, as the other two were dry. The place is usually empty with plenty of seating. Prices lean a bit higher than other tea or boba shops in the area. Service is always slow, even when there is no line. read more

Fresh matcha drinks and fresh matcha soft serve (except on Mondays after 6 for the soft serve they deep clean machine) everyday ! Junbi is mainly a matcha shop so if you LOVE matcha this is the place to go. They have other options such as blended drinks , coffee and regular tea options (plain green, jasmine, oolong and black tea). However, their main focus is their matcha. To snack on they offer 3 different rice balls and mochi donuts in an assortment of flavors. They have a life long customer out of me !
