Easily some of the best boba in DFW, hands-down. I've been a customer for nearly 3 years now and Boba Plug is my all-time favorite for boba...so much so, I ordered catering for BOTH my wedding and baby shower. The flavors are always creative, delicious and carefully crafted. You can tell a lot of love goes into the way these drinks are thought up and made! I especially love the unique and tasty nods to the authentic flavors across the range of food and cultures...from ube, pandan, salted egg; there's always high-quality, unique ingredients. And most important -- the boba is always perfectly cooked. Alex, Vivian and the TBP team are excellent, friendly, and helpful when it comes to customer care. They are accommodating when we have special requests, especially when I'm indecisive. Highly, highly recommend!! You're missing out if you haven't had Boba Plug yet.

Their drinks are very innovative and it's unfortunate that they are only pop up run business. You have to follow them on Instagram to find out when their next pop up is and where it's going to be. They're never in same location but they do have a rotation. My favorite is feels like home made with vegan milk. It taste like Hong Kong milk tea and is soooo good! Pineapple sunrise shown in picture was another good one.

If you're ever in an area where The Boba Plug pops up, go directly there, do not collect $100!!! But no, really. I stopped by Verbena Parlour on my way to a massage to pick up a Matcha Mornings boba, and I'm so glad I did! A few hours later, my friends tried to get some, and they had already run out! Matcha Mornings is Cereal milk with cream topped with fresh uji matcha - doesn't that just sound amazing! Because it absolutely was. Just the right amount of sweetness, juicy boba pearls, perfect milk to matcha ratio. Satisfied my boba cravings 110%. I'll be on the lookout for more pop-ups, for sure, and you should too!

One of my favorite pop-ups ever! They're really well organized and the staff is super nice! My friends and I went to their pop-up with Mecca Matcha in Grand Prairie and it was great. We got the Sakura Madness which was nice and creamy with a strawberry-sakura mix, and we got the dirty hoji which was a classic rich roasted green tea. Both drinks were amazing, and their prices are reasonable for the amount of work they put in!

I just tried the mango mule drink!! It's perfect.

I just tried the mango mule drink. It's perfect! It's sweet, refreshing and healthy. It also has fresh mint leaves so it's good for your breath

Recently was finally able to try The Boba Plug at a pop up they did for Chinese New Year in Grand Prairie. The drink we got was so good and their boba is the perfect consistency. Their drinks taste so fresh and not artificial at all. Can't wait to see where they pop up next!

We were greeted by Chef Cody's wife (I believe her name is Haley?), and seated at 2-top table in the front room by the bar. We waited until the other guests arrived for the 7pm seating, and our dining experience began. Let me just start by saying that I've definitely spoiled myself, having been to several tasting menus across Dallas and a handful in other states. To be honest, this one did not live up to my expectations, unfortunately. I still give 4 stars for the overall dining experience, as the chef and his staff were very friendly and efficient, and provided a warm, welcoming environment. This was a 10-course tasting menu with 5 natural wine pairings, coming out to ~$450 for 2 people after taxes and before tip. This is a reasonable price for the DFW area. From the menu, I really liked the first few courses, especially the boneless pork rib and fermented potato bread! The panko-breaded pork was SOOO soft and tender, juicy goodness in every bite. And the potato bread with cultured brie butter was so dense, unlike any "bread" I've had before! From the entrees, I enjoyed the oyster carbonara, which had a rich taste to it - not much oyster flavor, just as the chef had described upon bringing out the dishes, but very cheesy without being overwhelming. I liked how they started and ended with tartlette - definitely enjoyed the chilled grilled asparagus one, especially with the delicate crust of the tart. Now, a few criticisms of the menu - I think there were a few too many fried pieces - the panko-fried pork followed by the fried avocado was a little heavy for me. I was a little disappointed by the aged duck breast course. I very much enjoy duck breast, but I really look for the crispy skin on top with tender meat throughout. Maybe I had a bad piece, but my duck meat pieces were very chewy, and I couldn't finish it all. The beet bordelaise was an absolute delight and added elegant flavor to the dish. I was also excited for the apple & hazelnut dessert, as I loooove hazelnut! But I thought that the koji salt was a little too salty and overpowered the apple and hazelnut pieces. I will note here as a disclaimer that I have a salt-sensitive palate, so this may not have been the case for others. The wine pairings were excellent - each wine went along with 2 courses of the menu. However, I was surprised that they did not change out the wine glass for the middle 3 wines, moving from white to orange to red wines... I would expect that in a wine tasting at a vineyard where they are trying to conserve cups/glasses for the small pours, but in a fine dining setting, I expect the glass to be changed out for each wine. I did like that they paired the sake with the two dessert courses, definitely played into my Japanese heritage. I did notice that as they were pouring the sake, the nigori had settled a bit to the bottom. I would like to see the sake being tilted a little bit before pouring so that the particles do not settle. I thought the pacing of the meal was great - very relaxed but not waiting too long between courses, and the dishes were explained thoroughly and in a timely manner. Haley had great timing as well, pouring each wine before the dish was brought out. I appreciated how she explained the rationale of why each was paired to complement the flavor profile of the dish.

I started with the ham and cheese empanada. The outside was fried perfectly crispy, but the filling was basically chopped lunch meat and cheese. It wasn't terrible, but definitely underwhelming. I'd rate it about a 2/10. Next, I ordered the mofongo with chicharrón. The flavor was extremely garlic-heavy, and it was only served warm instead of hot and fresh. The texture and seasoning just didn't hit for me. I'd give that around a 3/10. The biggest issue was the fried beef. The meat smelled off and tasted spoiled. After eating it, I ended up with a stomach ache later on. That completely ruined the experience for me and honestly made me question the freshness of other items on the menu as well. Would I return? Probably not. I don't mind giving restaurants second chances, but food quality and freshness are non-negotiable for me, especially when spending hard-earned money dining out.

She originally wanted Olive Garden, but I always try to support local when we can, so I suggested Picone... and I'm so glad! We ordered the birria crunch wrap, smash burger with potatoes, chicken parm pesto, and a Caesar salad, and we literally left no crumbs. Every bite tasted intentional. The chicken parm was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with rich, flavorful sauce and melty cheese that didn't overpower the dish. The pesto added a fresh, herby richness that tied everything together beautifully. The birria crunch wrap was packed with bold, slow-cooked flavor, and the crispy tortilla gave way to tender meat and creamy, cheesy goodness. It somehow managed to be comforting and exciting at the same time. The smash burger had that perfect crispy edge with a juicy center, and the potatoes were golden, crispy, and seasoned so well that they disappeared almost as fast as the burger. Even the Caesar salad wasn't an afterthought. It was fresh, crisp, perfectly dressed, and exactly what you want alongside a rich meal. You can tell there's real care behind the food. Nothing felt rushed or phoned in. Every dish had layers of flavor, great textures, and combinations that just worked. It felt like people who genuinely love feeding people made our meal. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. It had just the right amount of local charm that made the kids feel like they had discovered a cool hidden gem.
