ice matcha latte and green tea chiffon cake
Stephanie V.

I ordered an iced matcha latte and the green tea chiffon cake. The matcha latte wasn't exactly what I expected. It didn't have that strong, grassy matcha flavor and honestly tasted more like vanilla ice cream. If you're a matcha purist, it might throw you off, but I still liked it. It was smooth, creamy, and actually kind of comforting. The chiffon cake was decent. I liked the subtle green tea flavor but it was a bit on the dry side. Not terrible, just not super memorable. I came in on a weekday afternoon hoping to knock out a few hours of remote work and ended up really enjoying the vibe here. The space has a relaxed, peaceful energy with lots of natural light and soft instrumental music playing in the background. The Wifi was strong and consistent the whole time and it wasn't too crowded, so I had no trouble finding a spot to sit and work. The only thing that felt a little off was the bench seating. The height felt a bit awkward compared to the tables, but it wasn't anything that ruined the experience.

Sweet potato cake, definitely try this!
Nicole S.

Cute little bakery in K-Town, the decor is nice. We went here on a Tuesday afternoon around 4pm or so, the pastry cases were so empty. It was a little disappointing. Sweet Potato Cake - delicious, not too sweet. All the cakes are beautiful. Bear Bread - not what was pictured decorating wise on the website (smiling happy bear versus bear that was on its deathbed) but it was comical. I saw that others had posted a similar picture on their reviews, lol. The filling is thick chocolate, share it or save the rest for later. Croissant - average Mocha Bun - it was good, not alot of filling but that's fine. We had some other item (in the photo it's the two rectangles in one package) it was displayed on a shelf with other items so I'm not sure what it was... the placement of labels for shelved items weren't easily identifiable if it didn't have its own section. This area maybe had 8-10 items, whatever it was... it was good. Tasted like a poundcake. I like how these types of bakeries don't produce things that are overly sweet. I wish we had the opportunity to purchase more items for later but again, inventory was extremely limited. Staff was quiet, yet friendly. Cozy vibe, clean shop. Prices were about average. I wish there had been sugar free options for drinks. Not a bad experience just okay. Would give a 3.5 if ratings had half stars.

Green Tea Blue Berry Cake Slice

This is a small bakery that sells bread, cakes by the slice, and whole cakes. The inside is pretty big and has plenty of seating. The staff were polite. We got two cake slices - blue berry chiffon and green tea blue berry. Both were delicious. The frosting was light and creamy, the cake was soft. It completely makes sense why most people walk out with whole cakes and the staff have to ask "do you want a whole or a slice" even when you choose to dine-in.

Croque monseur and passion fruit Italian soda
Elaine M.

Busy cafe with nice buzz , stopped in midday for an iced beverage and a savory snack to munch on. Not a lot of selection left but I was able to snag a croque madame and Italian soda, totally hit the spot! (I even asked for the sandwich to be heated up and they were able to honor that request!)

Cute little bakery tucked away by the Hmart corner. The late was made fresh with a heart and the teddy bear bread was super cute. The chocolate center was a bit too much for me.

Earl grey chiffon cake
Jennifer K.

This earl grey chiffon cake might be one of my favorite cakes! The cake is very soft, not too sweet with a unique flavor. I would definitely suggest cakes from here rather than Paris Baguette or Tous Les Jours for special occasions.

Came at 7ish on a Friday, and I'm not sure if it's the smell of the place of the people in it but there definitely was a scent. Regardless, I loved the artisan look here, not a lot of breads left and some of the cakes looked kinda sad, but I got the green tea blueberry cake which I liked but the earl grey is better imo.

Went here after a terrible ihop experience in the morning Loved the sweet cream donut and the buttercream bun! So fresh and tasted amazingly sweet and delish! Definitely going back!

Green tea cake

I had the green tea cake, it was little dry. Good place to meet friends or first dates. Clean bathroom, limited parking. Service was fine.

For how long Ecclesia has been open, I have only now made my visit, and I truly have been missing out! Ecclesia is probably one of the best asian bakeries that exist in the DFW area, and definitely now my top pick in Carrollton. For my sister's birthday, we got the Earl Grey and Sweet Potato cakes to share with some of our girlfriends. My sister also ordered their misugaru (multigrain) latte. Everything was SO. GOOD. I certainly will stop by again if I need a birthday cake in the future!

Green tea cake and chocolate chiffon cake

My friend and I stopped by this place to catch up and we fell in love with the cake, coffee, and atmosphere. We got a chocolate chiffon cake, a green tea blueberry cake, and 2 brewed coffees. They were out of the brew and the young gentleman running the cash register gladly offered us Americanos instead. He diligently got the espresso shots ready and I can honestly say that it was the best Americano I've had! It also paired perfectly with the light and sweet cake. Keep in mind that we got there 40 minutes before it closed and still got excellent service. We will definitely be coming back!

They have great cakes. Always recommend calling ahead to reserve your order. They can write message on the cake board for special occasions.

I ordered off of the low sugar menu and got something called the "coconut" something or other. And, although I didn't expect it to be a rich dessert drink of any kind (we normally go to Body Machine Fitness, The Gem, or The Juice Bar for smoothies and juices with no added sugar), my smoothie ended up literally tasting like frosted baby powder. My friends' drinks were on the much sweeter side - almost too sweet. We noticed that they don't use fresh ingredients - just dehydrated kale and spinach and lots of different powders of sorts (and I don't mean supplements or protein powder). Will probably go to The Smoothie Factory in Coppell next time since that is the only "smoothie place" that's decent in the area.

I was tempted to give a 3, but that just seems unduly harsh. 3.5 would about do it. These really aren't bad. But the menu also doesn't have anything much more than smoothies. Great selection tho, very creative, especially if you're looking for something more than a simple fruity slushy thing. If I have to give these guys a 4, then Tropical Smoothie gets a 6...

I was looking for the trending Korean salt bread and this place looked promising. We even planned…read moreto have dinner nearby just so we can have an excuse to stop in this bakery afterwards. The interior is small but cute with a cool 2D design. The original salt bread is clearly the most popular flavor but there's a few additional flavors such a Bischoff, Dubai chocolate, truffle, injeolmi and red bean. They offer a few options for coffee as well as matcha. I also saw the Dubai mochi here as well. The staff warmed up our breads, except for the sweet ones, which was dangerous because now how could you not eat warm buttery bread in the car on the way home? The salt bread was dripping with butter inside and crispy on the outside. It was not overly salty like a pretzel so we very much enjoyed it. However, the truffle one was divine. I almost went back in to get more of that one. I regret not doing it. We tried one sweet one which was the Bischoff which was also very delicious if you like sweet/salty combo like I do. The only thing I didn't find pleasant was the customer service. Very dry greeting and absolutely no warmth. It was later in the evening but not any time close to closing. There were even quite a few people inside and just hanging out. Perhaps they had a long day but it killed the mood a little, which is why we opted to get the bread to go. In any case, the bread is delicious. I can't wait to get more of the truffle salt bread!

When I saw Dallas was finally getting a salt bread bakery I was super excited!…read more I tried Childish Bakery once right after they opened and unfortunately wasnt too impressed with the service but I decided to give them a few months to settle in before trying them again to write a review :") I think their salt bread is okay, not quite like the ones in Korea but it tastes the best when you eat it right after you buy it! Otherwise it gets a bit soggy and not as crispy/buttery and tends to lose flavor when you take it home or let it sit out for too long. The coffee was also pretty watery and bitter when I had it during my first visit ( i believe i got the banana coffee/latte ) so id probably skip their coffee and either try their other drinks which i havent tried, or just get the bread! I stopped by today for the dubai chocolate cookie since we were in the area. It is pretty expensive ($4-5) for one small regular dubai cookie -- but i will say it is quiite yummy so worth if youre craving it!! We also asked if they had the butter tteok/mochi since i saw it advertised on their instagram and they were very confused by my question and slightly rude to us stating they didnt know what that was and bluntly said they didnt have it ( we stopped by around 12:30pm ) so it pretty much turned me off from being interested in buying more stuff not sure if they were sold out or just didnt have it despite advertising it but i was like oh!!! after they bluntly responded to us TT Not a big deal but both visits being subpar makes me think i likely wont be back to this bakery But! If youve never had salt bread and want to try it, I'd still say you should give it a try. :")
