Came for the salt bread. It was good, it was buttery and the bread was soft and chewy. Also ordered the chocolate bread. I liked both of them. Service needs to be friendlier.

    Truffle - $3.95, Bischoff - $4.95, Dubai mochi - $4.25

I was looking for the trending Korean salt bread and this place looked promising. We even planned to have dinner nearby just so we can have an excuse to stop in this bakery afterwards. The interior is small but cute with a cool 2D design. The original salt bread is clearly the most popular flavor but there's a few additional flavors such a Bischoff, Dubai chocolate, truffle, injeolmi and red bean. They offer a few options for coffee as well as matcha. I also saw the Dubai mochi here as well. The staff warmed up our breads, except for the sweet ones, which was dangerous because now how could you not eat warm buttery bread in the car on the way home? The salt bread was dripping with butter inside and crispy on the outside. It was not overly salty like a pretzel so we very much enjoyed it. However, the truffle one was divine. I almost went back in to get more of that one. I regret not doing it. We tried one sweet one which was the Bischoff which was also very delicious if you like sweet/salty combo like I do. The only thing I didn't find pleasant was the customer service. Very dry greeting and absolutely no warmth. It was later in the evening but not any time close to closing. There were even quite a few people inside and just hanging out. Perhaps they had a long day but it killed the mood a little, which is why we opted to get the bread to go. In any case, the bread is delicious. I can't wait to get more of the truffle salt bread!

When I saw Dallas was finally getting a salt bread bakery I was super excited! I tried Childish Bakery once right after they opened and unfortunately wasnt too impressed with the service but I decided to give them a few months to settle in before trying them again to write a review :") I think their salt bread is okay, not quite like the ones in Korea but it tastes the best when you eat it right after you buy it! Otherwise it gets a bit soggy and not as crispy/buttery and tends to lose flavor when you take it home or let it sit out for too long. The coffee was also pretty watery and bitter when I had it during my first visit ( i believe i got the banana coffee/latte ) so id probably skip their coffee and either try their other drinks which i havent tried, or just get the bread! I stopped by today for the dubai chocolate cookie since we were in the area. It is pretty expensive ($4-5) for one small regular dubai cookie -- but i will say it is quiite yummy so worth if youre craving it!! We also asked if they had the butter tteok/mochi since i saw it advertised on their instagram and they were very confused by my question and slightly rude to us stating they didnt know what that was and bluntly said they didnt have it ( we stopped by around 12:30pm ) so it pretty much turned me off from being interested in buying more stuff not sure if they were sold out or just didnt have it despite advertising it but i was like oh!!! after they bluntly responded to us TT Not a big deal but both visits being subpar makes me think i likely wont be back to this bakery But! If youve never had salt bread and want to try it, I'd still say you should give it a try. :")

Childish was on my bakery list for awhile, it was okay but maybe got so hyped up that I had a higher expectation? But I really think it was just "meh". We got there shortly after they opened, maybe one couple in front of us & another girl came in shortly after. There's a screen to order & a register, we weren't sure where to order and weren't really acknowledged by staff or anything. We ended up ordering on the screen, then grabbed a seat. It's small but a decent amount of seating provided. The walls are white with decor "drawn" on it, which adds a lot of brightness to the atmosphere. I think we had a Yuzu Matcha (I think that's what it was) & a Black Sesame Latte. The matcha was refreshing, while the black sesame latte seemed to have too many "bits" in it. I love black sesame drinks, yes, I stirred it but there were so many particles in it that that it was almost like coffee bits got into the drink. If that's the case & it wasn't black sesame like I assumed, it was noticeable when the drinks were prepared. We had a regular salted butter croissant, a garlic cream cheese one, a honey one, & a chocolate one. The honey one was delicious, probably my fave, and not to sweet. Chocolate was chocolate, not bad but nothing special. I liked the garlic cream cheese croissant better than the regular salted butter one. Both had the perfect crispy bottom! The regular one I wasn't much of a fan, like I mentioned we had just gotten there & they were not cold but perhaps not fresh? It was kind of waxy. $40 for four pastries & two drinks, that's actually a pretty good price. I wish the customer service was better, there had been things I saw online or through the counter window that I wanted to ask about but they were just busy talking to themselves & not customers. Service was fast & the bakery was clean. I probably wouldn't drive to go just here, we're in Mansfield & that was our sole purpose, but might give them a second chance when I'm in the area.

Hands down my favorite salt bread. I love that it's chewy and filled with butter. If you can get there when the tray is fresh the flavor bomb is out of this world. Favorites are: classic salt bread, truffle salt bread, and the shio pan bread. Sesame latte was a miss for me, not my fav, def a must stop if you are a bread and butter lover!

We got the salt bread, a taiyaki, and the matcha cream salt bread. They all tasted pretty good. The salt bread has a nice crunch on the exterior and the salt/butter flavor hits you right away. It was really enjoyable to eat but there is a lot of melted butter inside. I felt like the butter coated my throat after eating it. The taiyaki was huge and had red bean in it which was nice. Made fresh so pretty hot. Our favorite was definitely the matcha cream salt bread because it had a nice balance of flavors. Matcha quality seemed pretty good and had a strong flavor. The cream tasted very fresh as well. I would definitely come back to try more though probably the flavored breads because the salt bread had me feeling butter overloaded for a while afterwards.

First time visiting and overall, had a great experience. We ordered a few different types of salt bread: original, truffle salt butter bread, Matcha Cream, and cookies and cream. We were also given a red bean one for free! The place was very clean and the person at the front was super nice! Felt like there was a language barrier but he tried his best Out of everything we got, I really enjoyed the Matcha Cream. The matcha flavor was strong, lots of cream yet the cream was light and the salt balanced well with the overall flavor. In addition, the bread was light and texture was okay. Cookies and Cream - Cream was very good and not too sweet. Couldnt really taste any of the salt but the bread texture was like the matcha cream bread. Original Salt Bread - Salt taste was very minimal but there was too much butter. The amount of butter was clear when you bite into the bread, the butter dripped from the inside and was all over our hands. OVerall, I wasnt a huge fan Truffle Salt Butter Bread - Reallllly enjoyed this flavor! If you like truffle, i highly recommend trying this. They are very generous as the truffle flavor was super strong yet the salt and butter was mild to help balance the umami from the truffle Red Bean - Red Bean was good! bread texture was light yet had a crunch to it.

My friend took us here for salt bread. I have never heard of it, but was excited to try them. There was a kiosk to order. The menu was not very large. We shared the matcha and strawberry salt bread. The matcha did not taste like matcha flavor at all. The strawberry was much better. The salt bread was a little too salty. I'm not sure what the hype is but it's okay. Nothing too special about it. The tables and floors were really dirty. It didn't look like they cleaned the floors or tables throughout the day. The staff looked very unhappy and did not like their job. Bear the pick up area, there are napkins, plastic forks, and knives. It is quite pricey for 1 piece of bread so I would expect the quality to be better.

Salt bread is highly addictive! I can't imagine it being healthy for you but damn it's good! We really liked the truffle salt bread!

I'm surprised this bakery is rated so poorly! It's a small shop located in the H-Mart area, a bit past Pink Box and across from Sing Box Karaoke. We went on Black Friday around noon and the bakery was packed with customers enjoying their pastries. There's a kiosk where you can place your order. It looks like someone can physically take your order as well, but I'm not 100% sure since the place was pretty busy. We ordered 3 salt breads and 1 truffle salt bread and we got our order in less than 5 minutes. The breads were fresh and warm and we loved the buttery center! It tastes like the combination of a croissant and a dinner roll, but much richer and fluffier. The truffle had a nice subtle flavor. The bread itself is a bit oily, but what can you expect! Would certainly come back again to get my salt bread fix in! I live in New York, and I don't think there's any salt bread specialty bakery in Manhattan!

Overall the bread is super tasty and delicious but they should definitely quality control check. I noticed that all three breads that I received were hallow on the inside with no fluffy interior. It was good but I just expected more. The taiyaki was good though, perfect red bean ratio. Didn't get a chance to try the drinks. Kiosk ordering is always great, and didn't have to wait long. Would recommend trying!

We came when they JUST opened and only had one salt bread on the menu. Service was a little slow considering everything is made fresh. The salt bread had red bean filling and was toasted into fish form and served hot and crispy with a dab of luxurious butter. Overall quality is good but it did take a while. Cafe is cute and decorated in 2D. Overall not bad and looking forward to trying their new items.

I didn't have to wait as long as most people when I went to this bakery because I showed up right when they opened. I mean at 11AM I was inside. Although a line did form 5 mins after I entered. The salt bread was pretty good. Just right out of the oven when I went so very soft on the inside. They used A LOT of butter on these things because my fingers were glistening after holding it. These things would go well with a Vietnamese Coffee. I also ordered one of the premade "Basil Prosciutto" sandwiches and liked it too. While the food was good, they need to better optimize how the shop operates. There's only ONE kiosk where you can place your order. That won't work at all especially when a bunch of people are waiting. One of the staff members didn't seem like she wanted to take orders from the counter but directed people towards the ONE kiosk... From what I assume, the salt bread runs out very quickly so I hope they are ready with the next batch without making customers wait too long.

Watching the taiyaki being prepared adds to the experience since the fish shaped pastries come out warm and freshly cooked, creating that contrast between hot pastry and cold soft serve that defines the shop's appeal. The signature Ahboong is the main reason to visit, combining creamy soft serve with a freshly made taiyaki cone. The soft serve has a light, smooth texture that feels less heavy than traditional ice cream, and there are plenty of flavors to mix and match. Matcha, ube, cookies and cream, and other rotating options give plenty of choices, while fillings like custard, red bean, and Nutella add an extra layer of sweetness. The taiyaki itself is one of the highlights, with a slightly crisp exterior and a fluffy inside that pairs really well with the ice cream. The warm pastry melting slightly with the soft serve makes the whole dessert feel more complete and satisfying. Service is usually quick despite the popularity of the shop. The ordering process is simple, and the fresh taiyaki preparation makes the wait feel worthwhile. Even when there is a crowd, the shop moves efficiently, and the desserts come together quickly once ordered. The staff handles the steady flow well, and the overall experience feels smooth from ordering to eating. Somisomi feels like a dessert spot built around the experience as much as the food. It is a great place for a casual sweet treat, a late night dessert run, or something fun to share with friends. The combination of warm taiyaki, creamy soft serve, and creative flavors makes it one of those places that feels different from the usual ice cream stop, offering a dessert that is as enjoyable to watch being made as it is to eat.
