Sadly their ice cream machine was broken that day so we couldn't try any. We got the berry mochi balls. The flavors were great! My one complaint is that it doesn't really have the chewy mochi texture that I was expecting. It's more like fried dough.
I enjoyed the fresh fruit kumo cakes (soufflé pancakes) with whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and strawberry drizzle. The cakes themselves are pretty basic with an eggy flavor, but with the toppings, they are very nice, and drizzles + extra toppings like fruity pebbles are complimentary. I also ordered the mango sticky rice iced matcha, which was a bit on the heavy/indulgent side but delicious and very flavorful, with small pieces of real mango and a lightly salted coconut flavor very reminiscent of the typical sauce on mango sticky rice desserts.
This is no hate to the service or staff. The pancakes simply do not taste good :( The ordering process is you order at the inner counter and then you can choose any topping and syrup on top of the pancakes. The problem is that after everything, it tastes like a kid's experiment. The pancakes alone are small and taste nothing special. I am not associated with a competitor, but go to Fluffy Fluffy instead. Their pancakes are much better.
Good spot for dessert. The pancakes alone are pretty basic but once you add toppings and sauces, it's a good dish. Perfect for sharing with a couple people if you want an after meal treat but don't want to eat too much of it. I had to try to dubai chocolate with strawberries. Delicious!
honestly it's the mochi donuts trend but cut up tastes how you would expect! chewy not too sweet depending on your toppings pretty expensive for a dessert
I expected the donut mochi balls to taste different but it was just a more airy donut hole. It was good but not sure if it was worth the price. Definitely worth a try though.
New dessert place that opened up in the Carrollton area! We went during their soft opening period. Quite easy to order with the tablet, there was no actual person there (could be a problem when they're busier bc there's only one station) the space itself is pretty small with no seating, just a small counter top by the window. We initially ordered the mochi puffs and they gave us the souffle. We probably should've said something but opted not to we just ordered another one and it was right this time. The matcha and ube noods were okay. Couldn't taste much. The fruits definitely made it better. I might opt for the soft serve next time. Didn't care much for the souffle. It was soft and not dry. The mochi puffs are better. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, I also think it's more worth your money. Overall nothing too crazy or special, but it's another good dessert spot.
We ordered the soufflé pancakes and mochi balls with soft serve. My favorite item was the mochi balls but I wish they were warm. The soft serve tasted a bit too artificial, similar to cool whip. My soufflé pancakes tasted very eggy which I wasn't the biggest fan of. I think the soft serve and pancakes were a miss for me but that could have been due to it being their soft opening. This place was pretty packed Sunday night, there were people waiting both inside and outside of the store. You order from a kiosk in the store and then wait for someone to prepare your order. From there you are able to pick free toppings to add. Inside the store there is a little counter to stand and eat but no tables or chairs so it might be a bit harder to go here with a group of people unless you want to sit outside on the bench.
I remember driving by and seeing this place was under construction and yesterday I found out it was finally open! I saw they had soufflé pancakes and I was very excited to try them out. My friends and I went yesterday after kbbq. The menu is pretty simple they have either soufflé pancakes or mochi balls and you can add soft serve ice cream on the side (flavors: vanilla or ube or twist) and you can also add some additional toppings. We pretty much ordered everything on the menu and family styled it. Everything was delicious but the soufflé pancakes were the best. They were so soft and so fresh. The mochi balls were good too but I prefer the pancakes. There is no seating inside of this store, however we went to TP tea next door and they let us eat our dessert there. I'll definitely be back!
I loved their mochi puffs! Just the right amount of chew and size. The fruit toppings and whip cream make it all the better. Wish they had some customizations, like leave out bananas but that's ok. I also got the matcha and vanilla swirl soft serve. It was good but too creamy for me. Prefer the soft serve at Somi Somi.
Service was quick and the mochi balls were crunchy and soft inside. It was delicious. But the ube topping was thick and creamy with an aftertaste of grape. Also wish the balls were warm as well.
Place is small but cute. Order through a kiosk and they call your number when your order is ready. Not much of a selection, but the vanilla soft serve was good as was the mochi puffs. There's no tables and only a bar-height table inside for you to stand at... or two benches outside for you to sit at.... Which is a bit of a turnoff.
order at the kiosk in front and watch them make your order! they have two options, Japanese fluffy pancakes or the mochi puffs. I love mochi anything so I went with mochi puffs. There are toppings you can select for extra. I went with the ube noodles thinking it was cool to eat noodle ice cream. It wasnt ice cream, it was frosting and it was really sweet for an Asian dessert. I will stick to the mochi puffs with drizzle and powder sugar. Thats plenty to share between 3 people.
This is such a cute shop!! The place was empty when I walked in on a Sunday early afternoon, I ordered the Mochi Puffs with fresh fruit and it was topped with whipped cream and powered sugar. There was a good amount of puffs in this little boat. It was such a fun thing to try, would I get it again? Maybe not unless I wanted something small and sweet. I do wish it had a bit more fruit and powered sugar because once you get through the first layer it's just puff's. I also got the fizzy float in pineapple. Next time I'll try one of the signature sips instead. I didn't really like this for some reason, my husband seemed to like it. read more

This dessert place serves soufflé cakes & mochi puffs with options of add ons like ube or matcha noodles or soft serve. I got the mochi puffs with ube noodles. The puffs were a little chewy & crispy. The ube noodles had a subtle ube flavor. Even though it was good, it's overpriced. It's a place that I would only try once. read more

Such a great new business that has soft-opened in carollton recently! When you arrive you either place an order at the counter or on their ordering screens. It's truly a choice your own adventure experience with so many different combinations. I highly recommend adding fresh fruit and the homemade whipped cream! The Ube noodles, made in-house from purple Japanese sweet potatoes, were a nice touch for a subtle sweetness and fun texture. The kume cakes are so soft and taste like souffléd pancakes, while the mochi are like crispy donut holes. The twisted soft serve was sweet and slightly savory which was so great on the kume cakes. After they prepare your desserts, you get to choose your toppings! I chose PLENTY of drizzles (the Nutella and custard were my favorites) and the crushed oreos and various cereals were such a fun touch! The entire shop is beautifully decorated and filled with colorful murals of cute cats which makes the space feel cheerful and inviting. I will absolutely be back to support this great local small business! Bonus: their merch is so cute and well made! I grabbed a hat and shirt during my visit! read more

Very pleased after my first visit! Mochi puffs were delicious and tasted like cream puffs with the whipped cream. Definitely worth trying ! Also, staff was very friendly :) read more
Texture of the mochi puffs are pretty good. The noods are a sweet bean paste with either a matcha or ube flavor. Flavor was very subtle in my opinion and not very strong. It's not bad but not something to hype over. Maybe I will try soft serve next time. There are no seats but there is one long table to stand at. The service was a bit slow but they are still new. So, hopefully, they can figure out a system that works best for them and the customers. Overall, i would recommend people try it but I will likely not go again. It's not for me for the price. read more

Tried Kumochi for the first time and was seriously impressed! Their Japanese pancakes are incredibly fluffy -- like biting into a cloud. The texture is light but satisfying, and the cream they serve with it is perfectly airy and not too sweet. A delightful treat that melts in your mouth. Highly recommend for anyone with a sweet tooth! Service is great. They have a cute background to take Insta picture. read more

The service was quick and the workers were very efficient. While the mochi bites were very good, the noodle matcha was a bit unnecessary and didn't add much to the dish. Overall, there was nothing too special or memorable for me. read more

This place is in Carrollton, I saw it on Facebook clips and decided to take my mom there for Mother's Day. She really loved it. Everything tastes good but the mochi puffs were the best of them all. When you walk in, you have to go to the counter there's a kiosk to place your order then you scan a code. It will tell you the approximate time for your order they have fizzy floats that is soda and ice cream, soufflé pancakes which they called them kumocakes and mochi puffs. You can add ice cream, drizzle, and toppings. The inside is so cute the service was a big slow, but they were very busy. I placed my order at 5:25 and got it five minutes till six but it was worth it. Next time I'm going to add ice cream to it. read more

first my personal favorite things: 1. the cute cat murals on the walls 2. the fruit was exceptional, it was like every fruit was the best version of itself. the bananas were cold and firm, the blueberries were large and sweet, the strawberries were sweet but still crisp. very very good. 3. the dessert was so fun to watch being made it was so freaky 4. the employee was very kind 5. the ube noodle spaghetti situation was so good, i didn't get it but my partner did and i kept stealing bites now some MYTHBUSTING i've seen a few complaints about this place that are either valid but i didn't mind it or just not true. 1. they have a sign at the register that explicitly states that it needs time to cook, and if it's busy that could mean it could take up to 15 minutes. my personal experience was that we got ours within 5. obviously if you are impatient or in a rush you should just not go for everyone's sake. 2. there are some benches along the wall and a little bar type ledge by the window. there are also benches and tables outside. i personally could not care less that there were not a bunch of tables inside, the building is narrow and a bunch of seating would have made it cramped and impossible to walk around. if you need a bunch of inside tables that bad, just don't go for everyone's sake. 3. the souflee pancakes. now i got the mochi balls, they were warm and the perfect texture, so i had no complaints. however, my partner got the pancakes and while they very much enjoyed it we did agree we preferred the mochi balls. i mean, the place is literally called kuMOCHI. wasn't expecting the worlds most excellent kuPANCAKES yknow? but to each their own. i still liked them. read more

Attended the soft opening and it certainly did not disappoint! Although there is no inside seating (which makes it hard to eat), the staff was very quick and kind. We ordered off an iPad and had our desserts within a few minutes. Highly recommend! read more
