This is no hate to the service or staff. The pancakes simply do not taste good :( The ordering process is you order at the inner counter and then you can choose any topping and syrup on top of the pancakes. The problem is that after everything, it tastes like a kid's experiment. The pancakes alone are small and taste nothing special. I am not associated with a competitor, but go to Fluffy Fluffy instead. Their pancakes are much better.

Good spot for dessert. The pancakes alone are pretty basic but once you add toppings and sauces, it's a good dish. Perfect for sharing with a couple people if you want an after meal treat but don't want to eat too much of it. I had to try to dubai chocolate with strawberries. Delicious!

honestly it's the mochi donuts trend but cut up tastes how you would expect! chewy not too sweet depending on your toppings pretty expensive for a dessert

I expected the donut mochi balls to taste different but it was just a more airy donut hole. It was good but not sure if it was worth the price. Definitely worth a try though.

New dessert place that opened up in the Carrollton area! We went during their soft opening period. Quite easy to order with the tablet, there was no actual person there (could be a problem when they're busier bc there's only one station) the space itself is pretty small with no seating, just a small counter top by the window. We initially ordered the mochi puffs and they gave us the souffle. We probably should've said something but opted not to we just ordered another one and it was right this time. The matcha and ube noods were okay. Couldn't taste much. The fruits definitely made it better. I might opt for the soft serve next time. Didn't care much for the souffle. It was soft and not dry. The mochi puffs are better. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, I also think it's more worth your money. Overall nothing too crazy or special, but it's another good dessert spot.

We ordered the soufflé pancakes and mochi balls with soft serve. My favorite item was the mochi balls but I wish they were warm. The soft serve tasted a bit too artificial, similar to cool whip. My soufflé pancakes tasted very eggy which I wasn't the biggest fan of. I think the soft serve and pancakes were a miss for me but that could have been due to it being their soft opening. This place was pretty packed Sunday night, there were people waiting both inside and outside of the store. You order from a kiosk in the store and then wait for someone to prepare your order. From there you are able to pick free toppings to add. Inside the store there is a little counter to stand and eat but no tables or chairs so it might be a bit harder to go here with a group of people unless you want to sit outside on the bench.

I remember driving by and seeing this place was under construction and yesterday I found out it was finally open! I saw they had soufflé pancakes and I was very excited to try them out. My friends and I went yesterday after kbbq. The menu is pretty simple they have either soufflé pancakes or mochi balls and you can add soft serve ice cream on the side (flavors: vanilla or ube or twist) and you can also add some additional toppings. We pretty much ordered everything on the menu and family styled it. Everything was delicious but the soufflé pancakes were the best. They were so soft and so fresh. The mochi balls were good too but I prefer the pancakes. There is no seating inside of this store, however we went to TP tea next door and they let us eat our dessert there. I'll definitely be back!

I loved their mochi puffs! Just the right amount of chew and size. The fruit toppings and whip cream make it all the better. Wish they had some customizations, like leave out bananas but that's ok. I also got the matcha and vanilla swirl soft serve. It was good but too creamy for me. Prefer the soft serve at Somi Somi.

Ube topping with mochi balls and Dubai chocolate toppings. I loved the crunch of the Dubai special with the pistachios. Great touch

Service was quick and the mochi balls were crunchy and soft inside. It was delicious. But the ube topping was thick and creamy with an aftertaste of grape. Also wish the balls were warm as well.

Place is small but cute. Order through a kiosk and they call your number when your order is ready. Not much of a selection, but the vanilla soft serve was good as was the mochi puffs. There's no tables and only a bar-height table inside for you to stand at... or two benches outside for you to sit at.... Which is a bit of a turnoff.

order at the kiosk in front and watch them make your order! they have two options, Japanese fluffy pancakes or the mochi puffs. I love mochi anything so I went with mochi puffs. There are toppings you can select for extra. I went with the ube noodles thinking it was cool to eat noodle ice cream. It wasnt ice cream, it was frosting and it was really sweet for an Asian dessert. I will stick to the mochi puffs with drizzle and powder sugar. Thats plenty to share between 3 people.

This dessert place serves soufflé cakes & mochi puffs with options of add ons like ube or matcha noodles or soft serve. I got the mochi puffs with ube noodles. The puffs were a little chewy & crispy. The ube noodles had a subtle ube flavor. Even though it was good, it's overpriced. It's a place that I would only try once.

Such a great new business that has soft-opened in carollton recently! When you arrive you either place an order at the counter or on their ordering screens. It's truly a choice your own adventure experience with so many different combinations. I highly recommend adding fresh fruit and the homemade whipped cream! The Ube noodles, made in-house from purple Japanese sweet potatoes, were a nice touch for a subtle sweetness and fun texture. The kume cakes are so soft and taste like souffléd pancakes, while the mochi are like crispy donut holes. The twisted soft serve was sweet and slightly savory which was so great on the kume cakes. After they prepare your desserts, you get to choose your toppings! I chose PLENTY of drizzles (the Nutella and custard were my favorites) and the crushed oreos and various cereals were such a fun touch! The entire shop is beautifully decorated and filled with colorful murals of cute cats which makes the space feel cheerful and inviting. I will absolutely be back to support this great local small business! Bonus: their merch is so cute and well made! I grabbed a hat and shirt during my visit!

They had bento boxes and dessert similar to Meet Fresh, and it was more of a casual, hang out spot. This new store is next to Ztao and they are more of a sit in restaurant. Their menu was short and when I asked if they had bento boxes, the waitress didn't really understand my question. Their menu consisted of.. 1. Main Entree $14.99 that came with rice, noodles, or congee 2. Soup $3.99 three options 3. Sides $4.99 several options No dessert menu, only a little stand on the table with taro pudding that costed $8.95. We ordered their braised pork chop, daikon meatball soup, and pig ears. Like I mentioned, food was good, but nothing special. You can only order the side and soup if you order one of the main entrees. This new store is nothing like their old store, just fyi.

Seems like we were waiting just to wait...she sat one party down and waited another 10 minute to sit the next group... anyways, after we waited for a good 40 minutes, we were finally called to be seated. Sat down and was immediately served with water and took our order down. Time for the food review: Chicken popcorn - nice crisp and texture, but lacking flavor. Felt like it needed a dipping sauce. Pork lard rice - disappointing, bland Pork intestine with green mustard - this dish was okay.. Crispy garlic salted fish - fish was nicely fried and flavor was good. Probably the best dish so far Crispy pork chop - this is the reason why we came here.. we wanted to find a dish like May Ice cream. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. The pork chop was extremely salted. From the skin to the pork itself. Walnut shrimp - this dish was foul. Who puts sprinkles on the side?! Tasted like I was eating an ice cream shop. The shrimp was also dry. Overall, not worth going and waiting. Food was lacking.

Watching the taiyaki being prepared adds to the experience since the fish shaped pastries come out warm and freshly cooked, creating that contrast between hot pastry and cold soft serve that defines the shop's appeal. The signature Ahboong is the main reason to visit, combining creamy soft serve with a freshly made taiyaki cone. The soft serve has a light, smooth texture that feels less heavy than traditional ice cream, and there are plenty of flavors to mix and match. Matcha, ube, cookies and cream, and other rotating options give plenty of choices, while fillings like custard, red bean, and Nutella add an extra layer of sweetness. The taiyaki itself is one of the highlights, with a slightly crisp exterior and a fluffy inside that pairs really well with the ice cream. The warm pastry melting slightly with the soft serve makes the whole dessert feel more complete and satisfying. Service is usually quick despite the popularity of the shop. The ordering process is simple, and the fresh taiyaki preparation makes the wait feel worthwhile. Even when there is a crowd, the shop moves efficiently, and the desserts come together quickly once ordered. The staff handles the steady flow well, and the overall experience feels smooth from ordering to eating. Somisomi feels like a dessert spot built around the experience as much as the food. It is a great place for a casual sweet treat, a late night dessert run, or something fun to share with friends. The combination of warm taiyaki, creamy soft serve, and creative flavors makes it one of those places that feels different from the usual ice cream stop, offering a dessert that is as enjoyable to watch being made as it is to eat.

If you're dining in the area, you can choose to skip the restaurant dessert and come here. On my most recent visit, I ended up eating outside due to comfort issues. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Heads up! The shopping strip is very busy, and parking can be a challenge. In the front there are many crêpes behind glass cases. It's like a wall of food art. Inside you'll find an open space with a few tables, tons of dark wood, an open kitchen, but on my most recent visit, it was uncomfortably warm. It's was pretty outside (early March), and there were a couple of benches, so I sat outside. 1/2 Star. Service - I think this is the new trend, but you now order through a kiosk. Now, there a lot of positives, because you can take your time and scroll through the selections. But for me, there's something about interacting with someone and asking for opinions. On the other hand, it allows the staff to craft your crêpe in the open, which is cool to watch. 1/2 Star. Food - Full Disclosure - I went with my daughter so I'm basing this review on her opinion. She went with the Chocolate Banana. Now, it was loaded, and the folks at T-Swirl Crêpe do not skimp on the ingredients. Each crêpe is carefully crafted from fresh batter. My daughter gave her approval. When I asked her how did her Chocolate and Banana crêpe taste? "Like chocolate and banana". Thumbs up. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. While the very warm temperature inside made it too uncomfortable for me to stay inside to watch the staff construct the crêpes, my previous visits have been great. I just hope the A/C kicks in when the Texas summer arrives. 1 Star.
