    Mango Berry Shaved Ice
    Hailey L.

this tasted wonderful and was very refreshing! the ice is very soft and easy to scoop. has mango and strawberry syrup that adds a lot of flavor. four pieces of cheesecake. lots of mango and strawberries, which were a little under ripe. the portion is extremely large, and is perfect to share with a group of people. however, it is a little pricy so it's best to only come for special occasions.

To be honest, this has to be the best matcha soft serve I have ever had. It's very potent and not too sweet. Taste very fresh and delicious. 100% recommend coming in and getting the green tea with red bean filled fish. The grapefruit-ade was pretty good too!

Solid place to get traditional korean walnut cookie/sponge cake balls and taiyakis. Ice cream was too sweet and not very matcha-y. Staff wasn't very helpful in answering questions (felt like they were trained to take the order but knew nothing about the menu or how to explain things.) Service was slow. Store was very clean. Over all, just stop by and pick up walnut sponge cake balls and nothing else.

Great coffee and dessert shop on Carrollton! They have so boong cones, bin su shaved ice and ice cream. We tried a little of everything and it was amazing! Service was quick and they had ample seating inside.

We stopped by after dinner. Very nice place for a dessert after dinner. We tried the soboong ice cream with vanilla and Nutella, and it was delicious, very light but sweet and creamy. The walnut pastry is their specialty. We had the small box to take home, and it matched well with both coffee and tea. It's selfservice, and they were fast with the service. It's on the smaller size, I believe it has about 4-5 tables, so it can easily fill out.

We came here Saturday night after dinner and it was quite busy. Ordered a black sesame bing su and mango frosty ribbon shaved ice. The ice cream on top of the bing su was a nice tough, however it could've used more flavor. At the bottom it was a lot of ice. The shaved ice was really good, with lots of mango on the side. Wouldn't mind returning to try some other items, their menu is quite extensive.

This place has amazing ah-boong. The cone was still warm when we got it and the ice cream was really great in terms of flavor and texture. Relatively cheap at $6.50 for a generous helping. Personally, I think this place is better than SomiSomi. Staff was really welcoming and kind.

Goodness this place is sooooo yum. Im to busy stuffing my face and am getting behind on reviews so this will be short: Fish cone with chocolate, nutella, and drizzle. Shaved ice Mango Mascarpone Cheese Latte Puffed rice ice cream Every single thing was perfection. The staff was super friendly and quick and helpful. A must stop.

Delicious red bean walnut pastries and milk tea! I haven't tried their other items but look forward to returning. They are known most for their pastries which are great on their own or with some tea or coffee. They have read bean and a walnut in them and even taste just as good a day later when they aren't as fresh. You can always ask if they have day old pastries and you'll get a discount. The milk tea was too sweet for me but perfect for my husband.

Amazing for a first time! It was very clean, peaceful place. The ice cream with the cookies was amazing, the waffle fish cone is so soft but crunchy at the same time. Highly recommended!

The desserts were good but the service was just okay. Felt like they were rushing the customers. Unfortunately the walnut snacks were all sold out for the day so I couldn't try it!

Love pleasant surprises as we were nearby and wanted to get dessert with my friends. I'm so glad we tried this place as initially I pointed to the wall which was a mega berry. Let's say when I saw the price of $18 I was quite shock and disappointed with such a high price. What we got was one of the most delicious ice shaving, multi layered dessert, shaved ice, mung bean paste, condensed milk, mango, strawberry, and random yummy slices of cheesecake. Definitely can fill up four people after dinner or lunch or two if you are really hungry. This dessert place easily skyrocketed to the top three favorite dessert dishes for me

As we were waiting, we noticed that 4-5 tables were done eating and paid their bills. All got up and left, the staff quickly cleaned the tables. The cleaned tables were empty for another 15 minutes. The lady that took our names down took a while to call the next customers. Seems like we were waiting just to wait...she sat one party down and waited another 10 minute to sit the next group... anyways, after we waited for a good 40 minutes, we were finally called to be seated. Sat down and was immediately served with water and took our order down. Time for the food review: Chicken popcorn - nice crisp and texture, but lacking flavor. Felt like it needed a dipping sauce. Pork lard rice - disappointing, bland Pork intestine with green mustard - this dish was okay.. Crispy garlic salted fish - fish was nicely fried and flavor was good. Probably the best dish so far Crispy pork chop - this is the reason why we came here.. we wanted to find a dish like May Ice cream. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. The pork chop was extremely salted. From the skin to the pork itself. Walnut shrimp - this dish was foul. Who puts sprinkles on the side?! Tasted like I was eating an ice cream shop. The shrimp was also dry. Overall, not worth going and waiting. Food was lacking.

Watching the taiyaki being prepared adds to the experience since the fish shaped pastries come out warm and freshly cooked, creating that contrast between hot pastry and cold soft serve that defines the shop's appeal. The signature Ahboong is the main reason to visit, combining creamy soft serve with a freshly made taiyaki cone. The soft serve has a light, smooth texture that feels less heavy than traditional ice cream, and there are plenty of flavors to mix and match. Matcha, ube, cookies and cream, and other rotating options give plenty of choices, while fillings like custard, red bean, and Nutella add an extra layer of sweetness. The taiyaki itself is one of the highlights, with a slightly crisp exterior and a fluffy inside that pairs really well with the ice cream. The warm pastry melting slightly with the soft serve makes the whole dessert feel more complete and satisfying. Service is usually quick despite the popularity of the shop. The ordering process is simple, and the fresh taiyaki preparation makes the wait feel worthwhile. Even when there is a crowd, the shop moves efficiently, and the desserts come together quickly once ordered. The staff handles the steady flow well, and the overall experience feels smooth from ordering to eating. Somisomi feels like a dessert spot built around the experience as much as the food. It is a great place for a casual sweet treat, a late night dessert run, or something fun to share with friends. The combination of warm taiyaki, creamy soft serve, and creative flavors makes it one of those places that feels different from the usual ice cream stop, offering a dessert that is as enjoyable to watch being made as it is to eat.

If you're dining in the area, you can choose to skip the restaurant dessert and come here. On my most recent visit, I ended up eating outside due to comfort issues. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Heads up! The shopping strip is very busy, and parking can be a challenge. In the front there are many crêpes behind glass cases. It's like a wall of food art. Inside you'll find an open space with a few tables, tons of dark wood, an open kitchen, but on my most recent visit, it was uncomfortably warm. It's was pretty outside (early March), and there were a couple of benches, so I sat outside. 1/2 Star. Service - I think this is the new trend, but you now order through a kiosk. Now, there a lot of positives, because you can take your time and scroll through the selections. But for me, there's something about interacting with someone and asking for opinions. On the other hand, it allows the staff to craft your crêpe in the open, which is cool to watch. 1/2 Star. Food - Full Disclosure - I went with my daughter so I'm basing this review on her opinion. She went with the Chocolate Banana. Now, it was loaded, and the folks at T-Swirl Crêpe do not skimp on the ingredients. Each crêpe is carefully crafted from fresh batter. My daughter gave her approval. When I asked her how did her Chocolate and Banana crêpe taste? "Like chocolate and banana". Thumbs up. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. While the very warm temperature inside made it too uncomfortable for me to stay inside to watch the staff construct the crêpes, my previous visits have been great. I just hope the A/C kicks in when the Texas summer arrives. 1 Star.
