We were visiting a family member, who suggested Eggsellent Cafe for breakfast. It was a Friday, late morning and we got right in. Our waiter arrived swiftly and took our drink order. He returned shortly thereafter and took our food order. The breakfast and lunch menus are extensive. We all went for breakfast. Two of us ordered the Migas (one without jalapeños) and the other ordered the French connection. Each breakfast meal was hot, flavorful and delicious. I had a wonderful brunch at this cozy little spot. We walked in on a busy Monday morning, but got seats right away. I got the Bacon Avo omelette, which came with a side of either grits or home fries and pancakes or toast. I picked the grits, as I'm visiting from New York and grits is not a common option for us. The grits came out with a dollop of butter. It was a little thick, but very hearty and comforting. The omelette was a perfect size and came with good amount of avocado and spinach, which was much appreciated. The syrup had been delivered warm to the table, but cooled off quickly as we did wait a little bit for our food and it was very cold outside. I also loved that besides the normal assortment of strawberry and blueberry jam, there were packets of apple butter on the table. My pancakes were not super thick or moist, but perfectly fine as an accompaniment to the omelette. This is a locally owned business, and my aunt, who was the one who took me to this meal, explained that there has been a recent change of ownership, but the food hasn't changed. She chatted with the new owners and was happy to find that they will continue to honor the loyalty point system from the previous management. For this price nowadays, I'd be surprised if you could find better brunch food options. The ambiance is not what we're shooting for here. If you want to do a fancy-looking boozy brunch, perhaps go somewhere else. But even with the business, the server was very attentive about refilling our coffees and checking up on us. read more

Service could improve drastically!! I went in today and my waitress was slow, talking to the other workers and simply not into her job. Not the first time I went here and had this issue. One of our waitresses' coworker had to alert her that we were ready to order. Some people do actually come to restaurants to eat and leave. Well, I was on my lunch hour, so time was of the essence. I shouldn't have to tell waiters and waitresses to work efficiently. I will only go to this restaurant on weekends instead of at 2 in the afternoon because although they weren't busy with customers, they were busy catching up on the latest gossip with their coworkers. read more

Visiting a gud friend for the day, as soon as our plane landed, he was waiting for us to exit. Of course everything is a 15/20 minute drive in TX. Once we arrived it was probably 9am. They weren't too crowded and we promptly got a booth for 3. I had to use the restroom. It was a large single person bathroom. N it was clean. The establishment isnt very large, I guess the capacity is about 75 people or so. The place has an ole Tuscan charm. The servers were efficient and checked on one another's tables. My coffee was constantly refilled and I didnt have to ask. Breakfast came out quickly and was as ordered. It was scrumptious. I didnt even have to butter my toast, they already did.. Still a local fave for breakfast! Stopped here on a weekday late morning so the wait was short for a table. I always come prepared for a wait because they are always packed and busy, everyday of the week! We ordered a skillet (with side of fluffy pancakes) and kids mickey pancake (huge portion) with berries. The portions are large and the food is super fresh wirh quality ingredients. Wow. Just Wow. My husband and I went for the first time today. We had a short wait because the place was hopping. The host was very nice. Our server was also very nice and checked on us regularly. My husband ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries, and I had the gourmet chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with fried okra. It was sooooo delicious. The portions were huge. This place is super cute! They had light Halloween decorations on the walls and the environment was great for breakfast/brunch. The food was good, your average go-to breakfast spot. I order the Avocado Benedict and my bf ordered the Traditional breakfast. Both were amazing and well priced for the portion. We also had a greentea and a hot chocolate (a must! This place was so good! It was very busy but definitely see why. I had the crepes and asked for less powder sugar on top, the waiter relayed my request and I ended up with perfect crepes . My brother wanted to try Eggs Benedict which he enjoyed. My mom ended up getting the Bacado omelette and grits. She raved about the grits. I had a bite of the omelette and it was very good. Our waiter was so helpful, he gave great suggestions for our first visit. The drinks never got below 1/2 and even though they were slammed we never felt rushed by our waiter! The eggs and the hashbrowns were a little bland though in my opinion. I just added some salt and pepper to the eggs and ketchup to the hashbrowns and it was all good. The pancakes were amazing, a little dense and not too sweet. The portion sizes here are really big and I left very satisfied. The service here was really good. I came here after hiking very hungry, and the food came out pretty fast. The staff was kind and would always come to check if everything was alright, maybe a little too often, but I appreciate the effort!
