The restaurant was partially busy, with one section clearly occupied. At the time, none of the seats at the bar were taken. The bartender was very hospitable and provided me with both the regular and summer menus, as well as a glass of water. She also asked if I would like anything else, such as coffee. Similar to the former Southlake location, I initially browsed their seasonal menu. I knew I could always order from the regular menu at a later time. I opted for the Soft Shell Scrambler. The crab was a generous portion. With the addition of scrambled eggs, several slices of andouille sausage, and potatoes, it became a substantial meal. Since the lemon aioli was applied near the end of the preparation, most of it fell on top of the crab, with some over the eggs. Apart from the green onions, there was hardly any indication of regular onions within the scrambled eggs. The sole sore spot was the coffee. This was a chill spot we found for a late breakfast/early lunch. It's located in a strip plaza with plenty of parking. The menu has plenty of options. We were a party of 7, so we got to try a few different items. My fav dish was the shrimp and grits! We also tried the Floridian omelette. It wasn't bad, but living in Maryland has me spoiled with all things crab, so it was slightly underwhelming, but still good. And lastly, was the strawberry pound cake french toast! This place is such a gem. Aside from the traditional brunch items, we enjoyed the seasonal flavors. I was surprised when my husband ordered the maple spice cold brew & loved it (as he does not normally drink coffee or usually go for seasonal flavors). It was flattened cinnamon rolls with fruit and whipped cream and some sauces on it. Very sweet! Beware of the sausage!!! It is made in house according to the menu but I'm not sure that it's pork. It is similar to a hamburger patty (think smash burger) appearance. It had a lot of weird spices and was honestly not good to any of the 6 people in our party. I was excited to see chilaquiles on the menu and ordered them. Oh they were so sad. Not all all like I am used to. The portion size was so small, they had chorizo on them, sunny side eggs. I got breakfast potatoes as my side and they were crispy but flavorless. My husband got biscuits and gravy with sausage. Kidlet got chocolate chip pancakes which had a few chocolate chips shoved in the top, but it did come with an egg and a piece of bacon for $6.99 which was probably the best valued meal there. Overall this place was expensive and not very good. It was my least favorite breakfast experience and I would not return if in the area. I've been here a number of times now. Usually with a friend and during the weekdays 10am-ish so there is never a wait. The service is friendly and attentive. The food is excellent. One of my fave is the lobster omelet, so good! The salmon lox/bagel and pancakes are also good. The fruit is always fresh as well. It's right next door to a cute little fenced in playground if you have little ones. The patio is nice too when it's not so hot out. The hollandaise sauce; always pristine. The flavor explosion on the palate brings pure joy with every bite. Coffee, mimosas, Bloody Mary's with a host of delicious toppings; bacon, pickled okra, etc. It's all, quite simply put, perfect. My wife will get a traditional breakfast; eggs with a side of sausage or bacon and pancakes. Sometimes she will request chocolate chips in the pancakes and they always humor her. I brought my son here for breakfast once when he was visiting (when we lived in the area) and he said, "this is the best breakfast I have ever had." I went here with some friends for brunch on a Saturday. It is in a small shopping center near Grandscapes. This place has a mom and pop feel while being a chain in terms of the environment. I appreciated that it had a New Orleans type flare to the menu too. I got the Shrimp Benny $16.29 for my meal. This had great flavor and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The only issue I had with this at all was that the Focaccia bread was too chewy for my liking. I understand that it was most likely intended to soak up the delicious sauce it came with. Walking in there was a fat rat outside and when we told the server she said oh yeah the place across the street just closed down due to rats. When we ordered we weren't told that there was no substitutions only up charges which would have been fine if we were told. We waited extra long and on top of that the food came out cold. We ask for them to reheat. On top of that the pancakes were so hard and chalky that not even my kids ate them. At that point we just wanted to get out of there. We visited this location two days ago and ordered the Lobster and Brie Omelette and the Crab Cake Benedict along with two waters. We tried this location after seeing good reviews Google. We were seated quickly with good service. The restaurant appeared clean and casual. After receiving our orders, we were immediately displeased by the lack of flavor and off texture of the hollandaise on both of our dishes. The eggs were well cooked and the potatoes were cold. After two bites, I added hot sauce to make the dish more palatable. The hot sauce, one that I am familiar with, tasted off. I informed our waitress about my displease with the dish and despite my husband's, he decided to continue eating as we're were famished. I ordered French toast as a replacement. The French toast was brought out nicely plated. After trying it, I found it to also be incredibly bland. The waitress then informed us that staff tried the hot sauce and had no concerns before condescendingly told me that if I put something I do not like on my food it will taste like that..... I will reiterate that the hot sauce was not the only issue with this meal. These are all dishes I am very familiar with both making and eating out so I am well aware of how they should taste and look. At this point we just wanted to leave after an awful meal and not so kind staff experience. We paid and left. Will definitely not be returning to this location.
