I am not sure what is going on at this place, but the service here is quite simply awkward and unpleasant. I have been here on three different occasions, and each time a staff member turned me off with either rudeness, an incorrect order, or, at times, both. Last week, and the proverbial last straw, was when I unwrapped the napkin from around the silverware only to find that it was filthy. By filthy, I mean, dingy, nowhere close to shiny, with a dried piece of garbage stuck to it - No, seriously, there was a dried piece of garbage stuck to the spoon. To add insult to injury, my waitress was rude and unwelcoming. I am tired of spending my money here only be treated rudely, brought an incorrect order, and given trashy silverware to consume the incorrect order with. Food was delicious, done specifically how we wanted it. My bro is extremely picky and super healthy and for the first time ever he didn't had a bad bad thing to say. They have fruit and veggie juices as well, I had the Orchard Carrot and it was really good no sugar added. We got there at 10, and there was no waiting time, leaving at 11 the waiting time was about 15-20 min the place was packed. The only reason for the 4 stars is the line to pay getting out, it will be better is they have a better system to pay. read more

I LOVE Awake! It's always fresh, and on point. I've ordered online for takeout and dine-in, and neither disappointed!

I rate this low because the food is not very good, and the wait staff, while very friendly and energetic, simply take forever. Each time I've visited, the food disappointed. My first visit, I ordered biscuits and gravy. After about half an hour, I was served cold biscuits and equally cold gravy. It tasted like it'd simply been microwaved. My second visit also disappointed. I ordered eggs Benedict, and the poached eggs had completely solid yokes, likely again from microwaving. The service was also subpar. I hate saying this, because the servers are all terribly friendly, and I'm sure working hard. But on both visits, about 10 minutes elapsed between when I was seated and a server came by to take my drink order. And then another 10/15 minutes to deliver the drinks and take my food order. These aren't unreasonable wait times for a regular restaurant, or if the food is worth the wait. But for a little breakfast spot with cold, microwaved biscuits and overcooked eggs, it doesn't make the cut. I hope the food and service improve, because it has a delightful atmosphere. read more

Ok the only reason they lost a star is due to the waiting area space and forgetting the blueberry in the pancakes but overall everything was good. I don't know if the orange juice is freshly squeezed but it was okay. Had a weird taste to it. But everything else was good, the classic breakfast is something to choose from if you don't know what to get off the menu, something simple. It comes with 2 eggs, bacon and pancake. The Egg-Ceptional Omelette is something I thought would be good for me because I do love different type of meats. I don't want just bacon, I needed the ham and sausage. This place is a solid 4/5 stars. Would come again, but probably be a second or third choice. Atmosphere: (3/5) - It is nicely decorated, however, the sound really travels in here. The English muffin needed to be toasted. Now here is where it went all wrong. The tomatoes were so nasty, spit out was required and it almost ruined the entire dish. The potatoes were cold, lacking in flavor and not worth the order. Came in Saturday morning not knowing what to expect or what I was in for, but what I found was a nice breakfast spot with healthy and fresh options. The decor is nice and inviting, the staff was friendly and we didn't have a problem getting seated although as we were leaving at 10AM we noticed that a wait had started to form for tables. The food is good. It's all very fresh and taste great. I went with a breakfast sandwich and I would definitely get it again as it was tasty and filling. It came with a side of Ranch Homestyle Potatoes which were also good. My only issue is that I was craving pancakes and all they had was wheat, which I don't like. When I think pancakes I want golden buttermilk pancakes and sadly since they focus on "healthier" options I was a bit disappointed. The Egg & I probably won't be coming back here. Honestly there was nothing outright wrong about this place but they didn't get anything right. Got the Corned Beef Hash and the French Toast. The corned beef hash was decent and was made better with their house hot sauce. The French toast was not good. It didn't even taste like French toast. It was very bland and a bit soggy in the middle. I've been to places where the French toast was so unique that you didn't need syrup but you definitely need syrup so soften up the bread and swallow it. The eggs were standard. (You can't really eff up eggs.) The turkey sausage was horrible. Don't bother. Maybe we just didn't order right? Not sure. But I'm not willing to give it another shot given the plethora of other brunch places around. read more

I haven't been here recently. Came at 2:15 and you close at 2:30. My understanding is that you close the doors at 2:30 and you continue to provide regular service to those in the restaurant. I was greeted by a very unfriendly person (i think an assistant mgr but not certain). He acted as though "how dare you come into the restaurant at this hour. We're trying to get out of here by 2:30"!!! So i ordered togo. I was shocked with that attitude. You folks can do better. You're a customer service business so please provide friendly helpful customer service. If I'm wrong about my understanding, please let me know. Always one to seek out a new weekend breakfast or brunch spot, we were excited to hear an Egg and I was opening up closer to the house. We'd eaten at another location here in the Metroplex a couple of years ago and our fading memories told us it was good. We were pleased to see that senility hasn't set in too solidly yet, and our recollections were correct. Even with the growing mass of people around 10 am on Sunday, the staff did a great job of getting people sat quickly. For our hungry four, it could not have been soon enough. With the location being very new, everything still has that "new car" veneer and the atmosphere reflects it. Our waitress was sterling. She was there shortly after we all sat down and was back with drinks almost immediately. She kept the drinks filled and was good about checking back to see if we needed anything else. She even corrected the situation quickly when the kitchen left the chorizo out of my Sunrise Chili Rellenos. Unfortunately, the chorizo didn't help the dish. That was my only disappointment with the visit. It wasn't bad, but for a breakfast with a Tex-Mex flair it was insipid. The salsa was akin to pureed tomatoes and was missing the burst of flavor salsa should provide. The chorizo was also lacking in the spiciness I expect from the sausage. I felt like I was eating egg beaters with wheat toast not a Tex-Mex breakfast - no zing at all. And then, there was my wife's Parisan Benedict. I'm generally not jealous of my wife's selections, but she hit this one out of the park. I could only hope the kids would drag her to the bathroom so I could steal a few more bites. A croissant covered with portabella mushrooms, ham, and melted swiss is good. Throw in a couple of poached eggs and hollandaise sauce and you are in heaven! It is a sure bet that we'll be visiting the Egg and I again soon. Next time, I just know to go for the hollandaise instead of salsa. read more

On Saturday I watched the cashier handling cash and credit cards from multiple people and then turn around and pick up and skewer strawberries and blueberries that were she placed directly into people's mimosas effectively giving them a germ cocktail.
