Amazing, top to bottom. Customer service was solid, everyone was super friendly. Place is clean with a good amount of space. Theres outdoor seating with misting for the hot days. We got the sticky ribs with the mac and cheese and it was soooooooooo good. Beer wise i dont think there's a single bad one. We did the brewery tour for my birthday the other day. Avery has an amazing atmosphere inside and out, and our tour guide, Ted, was knowledgeable and friendly. He took his time, played to the crowd, and was happy to answer our questions. I've done lots of brewery tours, and this is one of my favorites. I especially enjoyed how they took us to their adjacent microbrewery where they explained the aging and souring process. We even got a taste of a whiskey barrel-aged brew they've been testing. After the tour, we stuck around for dinner and more beers. Everyone's meal was delicious, especially the brisket and carrot cake! Thanks to all at Avery for making it a special day. read more

Avery is so popular that finding seating can be tough. The outdoor seats are catch as catch can so I suggest trying there; that's what we did. You can order food outside as well. We demolished our lunches (the beer helped) but I must admit that I do not remember what we had. We hit up a lot of breweries that day.... I can say though that I remember the food being pretty good. Also, like most breweries, I preferred the limited availability beers (i.e., seasonals and one-offs). I definitely recommend visiting Avery, especially if you have not been there before! read more

I'm not a drinker but I have been to their establishment many times for after business gatherings with my co-workers and have enjoyed the experience. I have been told the beverages were of quality and the appetizers were tasty though a tad dry for my likings. Pricing was typical of what you'd expect from a brewery (slightly overpriced). While visiting a friend in Colorado, we had lunch at Avery brewing company and also went on the guided tour in the afternoon. It was around 12 something on a Friday when we came in. We didn't have to wait because we had a reservation but our party had changed from four to five but they were very flexible with us. I got the sausage po' boy with cheddar cheese mashers and I tried my sister's fried chicken Sammy with fries and enjoyed them. Everyone else seems to have liked their food too! We went on the guided tour of the brewery which started at 4. There was quite a large group gathered around and there was some congestion while moving around. Big fans of this brewery. I'm from the Midwest, where we don't often get much more than Coconut Porter and occasionally an Uncle Jacobs at our liquor stores. My wife and I had a great time working through the taps and putting together a list of beers to bring home to our friends. I've been to my share of breweries all around the country and Avery is the largest craft beer brewery I've been to where you still feel like, "holy cow these are nice people!" Their spot is huge. Like they're not messing around. There is a restaurant, 2 bar areas and a back bar last all the equipment. If you get a chance, be sure to visit the back bar because they have some smaller brews you won't get inside on the main menu. The main menu is rather extensive but the bartenders totally will give you samples of everything and anything. My favorites today were the vanilla bean stout, Czar Russian imperial stout and the Apricot Sour. Love that you can get 4 and 5 oz pours of mostly anything if you want. Oh, and, they have the most impressive food menu at any brewery I've visited. Lots of Cajun goodness (gumbo, poutine) and the best ramen I've had to date anywhere. All in the group liked their beer and most enjoyed the food. If you're a rib connoisseur, I would stay away, but other than that, good stuff. Unpopular opinion: food was overrated. Brews were a definite 5 but yea, the food wasnt worth the price. It wasnt bad just not worth what they were charging. Fish was bland, like I didnt even taste salt. The chips are fried sweet potato, not for me so I switched with my husband and he let me have his garlic fries. Fries were a little overcooked. He loved his steak sandwich though, just thought the portion was small. I would suggest getting beers on tap since you can buy their year round stuff everywhere. A colleague and I flew into Denver for a conference and arrived midday Sunday. Of course, we grabbed a rental car and spent the afternoon driving through the mountains. We ended up in Boulder for dinner and were both excited to sample more of Avery's beers, and we were hoping the food would be good, too. There was a ~20 minute wait for a table, so we grabbed a couple seats at the bar. Our bartender was welcoming, friendly, and answered our numerous questions about the beer. She was also incredibly attentive considering how busy it was! I had a couple questions about the food menu and she was very happy and knowledgeable in answering those as well. We tried a number of beers and really enjoyed every one of them. I always think it's fun to go to a brewery far from home and try their smaller batch or experimental offerings. That said, sometimes you get a dud, but that never happened at Avery. I liked the Hazyish IPA so much I bought a six pack to take to my hotel. For dinner I went with a sampling of three kinds of smoked meats and every one was mouth-wateringly tasty. I wasn't quite able to finish them all, but I would absolutely go back. The bartender let us know that they smoke all their own meats in house and you could really taste the smoky goodness. If you're in Boulder and enjoy legit craft beer and a hearty meal, I very much recommend giving Avery a try. read more

I try to stop here every time I visit Boulder. This time we biked about 6 miles from Pearl Street and it made the beer taste even better! The outdoor patio is packed with people and dogs. After hiking Mount Sanitas and walking around Boulder town, we came here to get some bites and try some refreshments! Yes, so refreshing that I could sit here all day and night. It was such a pleasant experience being here. We had a relaxing table, which allows the dogs to relax with us too. They played great music while we were there. Our waitress named Kara? Not only that, but she's also very friendly and giving the impression of my first visit to the place a great experience to take home. I'm from the DFW area and I've been looking forward to visiting Avery for some time now...and it didn't disappoint! The food was fantastic (I had the beer-battered fish) and some of the best food I've experienced at a brewery. I'm an IPA fan and their Hopfreaks was interesting. West coast ipa with some hazy hops included which made for a very nice beer. My only disappointment was they did not have Maharaja on tap...lol. But that's ok I got a six pack to take back! Avery has got it going on. They have 2 levels, 2 bars, an outdoor seating area, and guided or self-guided tours through the brewing area. The selection of beer is extensive and I'm sure that anyone can find something to their taste. My favorite was the Chai Brown. The hint of chai flavor made it quite unique. They also offer limited edition runs, which you will see flyers for around the brewery. I was honestly impressed with the variation and uniqueness of the flavors. I love breweries that also offer a menu, and Avery's is stacked. They offer daily specials and plenty of other treats. I had a cup of the Gumbo and I really should have gone for the bowl. It was packed full of seafood, a bit of rice and a small amount of spice that didn't overpower it. I went with the Green Salad for my side. While not mind-blowing, it was certainly worth $4 because of the fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed the burger and the onion soup, but the gumbo was the clear winner. I must say this was one of my highlights of my Denver trip. We went upstairs to main dining room and had a 45 min wait (they do offer opentable reservations) and proceeded downstairs to their tap room. A so glad we ate there. We did 4-5 flights of IPA's and 4 flights of more blue moon type beers too. They were just great. One of the best tasting IPA's (love Dogfish Head 60 min though) was the maharajah. Now if I can just their beers in the DC area! Had terrific very cheesy and very filling nachos with beef brisket and bbq sauce. Next time though I'll order it with pork (not a big bbq sauce type of guy). The legs and thigh appetizer hit the spot too. The brisket and meat combo looked so good but was just stuffed. Cup of gumbo was delicious too! They do offer tours and self guided tours, but we just went on a Coors brewery tour the day before, so we skipped it. I ate at Avery this weekend when it was 70 degrees out in February and it was fantastic. We sat outside on the patio with our dog- which alot of people did. There were doggies everywhere. We sampled several items off the food menu and they were all perfect. The legs and thighs tasted incredible. The burger was super juicy. The green side salad was even fancy! One of my fav things is there is a field across the street with a pack of prarie dogs. I have never seen them before and they kept us entertained. I have long been a fan of Avery beer when I used to buy it in the specialty bottle section of the liquor store in Anchorage, Alaska. I was visiting Boulder yesterday and excited when a good friend recommended that we meet up at the new Avery brewery for dinner. Four and a half stars for my favorite brewery visit, even at the old location where the equipment was less open to the public outside of tours. The socks and work shirt we bought from the gift shop were comfortable and made from good materials, and I was quite tempted to pick up a sweatshirt as well. Staff are all friendly and cheerful. As tempted as we were to sit at the bar to pick the bartender's brain on each pour, we couldn't resist the patio on such a nice day. Service was moderately attentive, and there was a broad enough menu to order from for both your stomach and your liver... and for once, sating your liver will cost much less. I was sad that my favorite beer wasn't available at the time, nor specifically referenced by any of the merch or the banners hanging up in the warehouse; an employee nevertheless assured me that its popularity would lead to increased distribution in my locale in the coming year. We tasted around half a dozen unheard-of creations, most of which never make it to distribution for good reason-- not all experiments are as successful as the products that get bottled. We stopped by Avery as recommended by a good friend - what a place! Visiting from out of town, we were thrilled by all of the brewery options, but I think Avery topped the charts in my book. They have a TON of beers! They have a 4 oz pour option so that you can get a few and try them all. We tried a bunch - white rabbit being my favorite. Unfortunately, their guided tour is by reservation only, so make sure to register online early if you want to go that route. Avery is my heaven on earth. Adam Avery: thank you for being born! I've been utterly BLOWN AWAY by their beers for many years but only just recently made my way to the Brewery. My first trip was on a regular Saturday afternoon, post hike, and my next trip was one week later for the infamous and outstanding 25th Anniversary Celebration. The brewery is on the North Side of Boulder, a trek for many, but worth every minute to get there. They have a very large parking lot, complete with sustainable charging spots for electric cars, in addition to overflow street parking. The entrance to the building is impressive. Two story white building with red blocks in the center and to the left, the striking and contrasting black Avery logo to the right of the glass windows showcasing the staircase that leads up to the retail area and entrance to the brew house. You'll see happy patrons and their dogs on a patio to your left, complete with comfortable lounge lawn chairs, picnic tables, misting fans, all atop beautiful artificial green grass to keep you cool beneath the hot Colorado sun. You can enter the tap house from the patio and there is a host stand of you are interested in a seating table inside. To note, you can get full service food and beverage service inside but no pets allowed, whereas outside pets are allowed but it is self service for food and beer. They have a decent amount of high top tables inside and the bar to you left with some bar seating as well. Behind, the beers are listed on wood plaques. The food and service is outstanding - more what you'd expect at Four Seasons versus a brewery. The chicken sandwich was juicy and delicious, as were the nachos during the anniversary event. Additionally they have some sustainable dishes - we tried the vegetarian Shepherds Pie and it was delicious! You couldn't tell it was meatless whatsoever and the flavor kicked! The service was also spot on. The host was super helpful and friendly in getting us a place to sit and the server was a delight. The server (wish I could recall his name) was so happy to be there and talk about the beer. Something simple you would think, right? Well this isn't always the case and this server was overly helpful in making beer selections and EXCITED to talk about them with us and answer questions, which made me even more excited! An overall 10-star experience! OK NOW TO THE EVEN BETTER STUFF - THE BEER. Again, heaven. Avery beers are out of this world! Truly bucket list worthy and "last beverage of you life" worthy. Most of their creations are BIG beers - over 10% abv and up to 18% or more and many of them barrel aged. My top favorites are 1) Rumpkin (no longer made, sadly), 2) The Beast, 3) Xolotl, 4) Tweak and 5) Reverend. They also have beer/wine blends that are often above 10%. They also have a good selection of lower abv beers, from sours to saisons, IPAs to browns, wheats to reds, and everywhere in between pending the time of year and what's currently on tap. All solid! I love Bug Zapper (sour with ginger, lime and mint - refreshing and stomach settling), Liliko'i Kepolo (juicy and refreshing), and Go Play IPA and Chowdah IPA. I love that you can order beers in different volumes - 5oz and 10oz - so you can sample a few or enjoy a larger pour of your favorites. My one suggestion is that I wish you could order a 2oz pour because I want to try them all! Ha! Note: The beers add up fast - both to your head & to your wallet! This place was fantastic! I really enjoyed their broad range of beers. Pierre, my bartender, was super friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about all of the beers on tap. He's definitely one of the best bartenders I've had in some time. In terms of the set-up, I really liked the barrel theme for the whole brewery. Keep in mind there are three bars in total including one that is hidden inside the brewery proper and has a slightly different menu. The downstairs was super packed, but the upstairs bar was more manageable. I tried a few different beers, and my favorites were the sour ales they had including Quivering Lip, Karma Sutra, and Eremita IX. I also tried their Twenty-Three anniversary beer, but it was a bit too funky for me and sort of had the taste of a decent Belgian ale but mixed with brie. I ended out with the Goat Candy that was just as it was described. I really enjoyed the subtle apple and bourbon flavors. I had an awesome time at Avery and hope to come back soon. It was really busy at the brewery that day, but didn't feel cramped. I had the imerial coconut porter aged in rum barrels which I still am dreaming about. If I ubered here or wasn't the driver, I sure as hell would have gotten a flight. Started off wit the Belgian white ale and finished with the lilikoi ale. Both were solid beers. Ordered deviled eggs and since it was Monday, i got the fried chicken. So juicy and tender! My friend got the pot roast?
