Cracked cylinder head.

I first met one of the owners of Papa Auto, Aidos, when purchasing a Honda CRV from his wife on Facebook Marketplace. During our conversation, she mentioned that Aidos owned a mechanic shop. This peaked my interest because I had a 2012 Toyota Sienna sitting at another shop for a year, waiting to get diagnosed and repaired for trouble codes 300, 301, and 303. I suspected a head gasket leak between cylinders one and three. After researching, I realized the motor would have to be removed to properly fix it. This is a massive job that requires a lift and about 20 hours of labor. I called four or five other shops, and no one was willing to touch it. Understandable, given the scope of the work involved. When I met Aidos, I asked if his shop could handle a head gasket replacement on a 2012 Sienna. He confidently said yes. I was a little skeptical because he and his wife looked very young, and every other shop had avoided this job like the plague, but he told me to bring it in anytime. I had it towed to Auto Papa the following Monday. At the shop, I met their mechanic, Adil, who also looked young. I began to wonder if they were in over their heads. But we sat down and reviewed labor, parts, and resurfacing costs. The quote was very close to what I expected, maybe a little cheaper. Adil clarified that it was a quote, and they'd know for sure once the motor was out. By Friday, Adil called me with additional issues: both lower control arms were worn and needed to be replaced, which I was actually aware of because the van would clunk after applying the brake and coming to a complete stop, and one CV axle needed to be replaced. I went to the shop to inspect Adil's findings, saw the grease splatter from the torn CV boot, and approved all the repairs. I also requested the engine mounts be replaced since the engine clunked during hard acceleration. Adil said it would be easy with the engine out and only charged me for the mounts. About a week later, I stopped by the shop for an update. Adil said he had replaced the head gasket and reinstalled the motor, but the codes were still there. He explained he would have to remove the engine again and assured me there would be no additional charges for labor. During the second removal, he discovered a cracked cylinder head and a broken valve spring. Amin, the second owner of the shop, stepped in to procure a replacement cylinder head locally, which saved time and shipping costs. I only paid for the new cylinder head itself and they did not charge me any additional labor to fix the issue. After a little less than a week later, my van was done. Overall, it took about a month to get my van back, but the shop kept me informed the entire time, physically showed me all the issues, took the time to explain what was going on and fixed any errors at no additional labor costs. Their quotes were accurate and very reasonable. In my experience, Auto Papa is honest, trustworthy, reasonably priced and truly cares about their work. I would highly recommend them for any auto repair. They also do bodywork, which I plan to use very soon for my daughter's 2009 RX350.

After suffering 4 months of ghosting and tales from another auto body shop, my family and I yelped…read morereccommendations for our newly acquired JDM vehicle, Joe responded within minutes on a late Saturday afternoon. Not only is a quick response on a Saturday a highly unusual experience for me, another surprise was his willingness to offer a Sunday consultation, in-person at the shop. The location is easy to miss, but just give Joe a call or text and he will guide you to the right bay. He has a clean and spacious office with AC!!! Conditions of the front-end repairs were discussed, and it was easy to discern Joe has experience working with insurance companies. Although the insurance company authorized the repairs, we chose not to complete them because ours was a JDM, with only 24 of these on the continental united states. This meant we could insure it, but would be issued a salvage title. We needed a vehicle for everyday activities of daily living and not as a custom show mobile, so we sadly sureendered the 1998 Nissan Serena to the insurance company. Joe took care of all the insurance stuff, including storage of the vehicle and towing it to auction. Should we have the misfortune of needing collision repair...MOS DEF... Over several months, we were repeatedly told that work was in progress, parts were on order, or that the vehicle was nearing completion. It's March 31, 2026 and it is still not finished. However, during multiple in-person visits, there has been little to no visible progress. Communication has been inconsistent, and there were times we arrived during business hours and no one was available. We understand that delays can happen, but the lack of transparency and follow-through has been extremely frustrating and completely unacceptable. We also observed signage indicating BBB accreditation; however, the BBB website currently lists this business as not accredited, which was confusing and concerning. At this point, we have had to escalate the matter in order to seek resolution. We hope this can still be resolved professionally, but based on our experience, we would strongly advise others to proceed with caution as there are many red flags despite the positive reviews.

I primarily worked with Cole. Cole was a pleasure to work with--professional, communicative, and kept everything on track. Something that I really appreciate from vendors is when they take the time to educate their customer. Cole answered all of my questions and made sure I understood everything about the process. It's clear that Mr. Pak runs a high-quality operation here. From the initial quote to picking up the truck after it was finished, took exactly eight days. The drop-off to pick-up took two days. Quality and efficiency. I highly recommend this team. After seeing the quality of work on my Tundra, I won't be suggesting anyone else. This is officially the shop I'll personally be using and will be referring people to going forward.

I sent the car to this place, and Cole went under my car and spotted the problem right away. A quote was immediately provided. The quote was fair and I left my car behind. I like the efficiency. It was a simple fix. Stick the bumper reflector back in place. That's it, and that was what was done. Cole took the trouble to explain to me what was done and even what materials he used to get the job done. Highly recommended.

Background story: Got into an accident where the other…read moredriver was at fault. Insurance told me to get a quote at another auto body shop for the repairs (rear bumper detached, wiring for reverse sensors detached, rear leg quarter panel above the tire dented and scratched). That shop quoted me about $8K for all the repairs! FYI, I have a 2013 elantra. Insurance deemed my vehicle to be a "total loss" because the amount of the repairs was about the same cost of the vehicle's value. So my choices were to give up my vehicle which still worked perfectly fine despite missing a rear bumper, and then recruited a check for the vehicle's value...or keep the vehicle and receive a smaller check and find an autobody shop that could fix the damages for cheaper than the initial quote by the first autobody shop. A friend recommended Mapunapuna Auto Body and I also checked out their limited reviews on yelp, yes I trust my fellow yelp users! Then I decided to check em out! Ben (the owner) quoted me right under $2 grand, which was a fourth of the initial auto body shop's estimate. I couldn't believe it and thought it was too good to be true. Despite this low number, I said let's do it! Let's just say after visiting a few times (not just one and done) for the repairs, Ben did great work and even took out a scratch on my door that had been bothering me for years but didn't get around to fixing. I'll definitely be back for Ben's assistance in any future car repairs and have recommended his shop to my friends and family already. By the way, cash is king here. IYKYK. Bottom line: Ben goes above and beyond for a very reasonable price. See the photos for proof. Not paid to give this honest review but rather have him gain more business so that he may thrive and continue his excellent work for many years to come. Check em out if you ever need a second opinion! Tell him Alvin sent you.
