I believe these guys are the best to buy wheels from. I've been to another shop to check out the rims, but I didn't buy from them. Good thing. Jeff was very helpful. I didn't know a lot about tires and offset. He helped me to pick out the right sizes for rims and tires, so I won't rub. I did massive amount of research about rim sizes and offset prior to going to them to buy my wheels. When I knew what rim I wanted, I double checked with them if the rims I wanted will do. They order rims from the makers, and they have access to see if they have in stock. The price for everything like rims, tires, and labor was what I expected. I liked most about Auto Customs is that they went viral. I'm a communication major, and I know how important the internet is. They have a Facebook page, and customers can email Jeff or the other guys about products. By the way, they said they are moving to the warehouse by Meg's in Kalihi. I'm not sure when. After reading a lot of good reviews here on yelp I decided to go in to see if they install headers and full exhaust for my 93 Jeep Cherokee. Jubahl said that it would be difficult but they could do it. So we sat down and he took the time to help me find the system that would help me save the most money. On top of that he didn't even charge me full price. I even told him I wanted to install intake but he said I should wait to do that, most people would've been quick to say ok just to make another buck but he didn't. Previous owner of my wife's car had self installed an HID headlight kit. And the damn thing didn't work. For one thing, he installed the cheapest crappiest kit available, and God only knows what the jackass did to the headlight wiring. It was all sorts of messed up. Took the car to two auto electric mechanics before these guys and nobody could fix it. But these guys took one look, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it in 30 minutes. Thinking of getting HID lights? Another local company that gives you the Ohana service! I got a puncture in the sidewall and was rolling on my spare tire. I picked up a new pair of tires, called Auto Customs and spoke with Jeff. He was very helpful and we set an appointment for 5pm on the same day. Well, my workday ran late and I let him know I wouldn't make it. Jeff tells me if I can get there by 5:30 they can get it mounted which they did for $30 including balance and tire disposal. I took it home where I got the spare swapped to the other side so I could have them mount the second tire. I sent my fiancé the next day to have the other tire mounted. Jeff and his crew went beyond what I expected, mounted the wheel on the car and placed the spare back properly in the trunk for my fiancé. Ordered my rims for my tacoma and it came within a week. Jubahl called me and set up an appointment. Got there on the appointment day and they took my truck asap. Took about an hour and it was done. Hands down, these guys are the best! Shout out to Brandon who was very informative and helpful when I placed an order for a big brake kit upgrade. I had a difficult time finding any shop that could even bring in the brand that I wanted. But it was not an issue for Auto Customs. On the day of the install, the techs noticed a few issues with my current setup in the rear of my truck. I really appreciate that they were observant and made quick fixes (to components another shop installed) that were necessary to prevent further damage later on. And when it came down to installing my brake setup they had to modify a thing or 2 to correctly mount them, which was not foreseen prior to my ordering the kit. But I gave the guys the go ahead to do what was necessary and with that Brandon kept me informed during the whole process. First off, if you want a fast overview of PROS and CONS for this shop skip to the bottom of this review. This was my first time to this shop and it won't be my last. I Came to this shop to have my own mud terrain tires installed. Mistakenly I had scheduled an appointment @ another shop to have my tires changed the day before. When I got to auto customs I spoke to the owner and to one of his guys Jeff. I told them I had called the day before and set an appointment with them @ 3 and that I talked to one of their employees but forgot his name. Well I wasn't on their appointment schedule so I thought that wasn't right. I drove all the way down from ewa to get to this place, just to find out my appointment wasn't set! They showed me their caller Id log of yesterday and asked me if my number was on the call list and it was not. After finally realizing that I came to the wrong shop ( *checked my call log on my phone and their number was not the number called the day before) I felt like a fool and apologized. They where cool about it and assured me that they wouldn't set an appointment for someone and not write it down because that wouldn't be right. Their work schedule for the day was loaded and I thought that they would tell me to just schedule an appointment for another time because there is no way they could accommodate me. But to my surprise Jeff told me that If I wanted to wait he could try to work me in to their tight schedule which they did. Although I had to wait 30 minutes due to other appointments they had me out of their @ 5. They did a clean and quality install of my m/t tires and I like the fact that they didn't rush it. They took the time to do the job well. I'm a mechanic by trade and you can see the proffesionalism and skill in little things like how they positioned and raised the truck on the lift, how they dismounted the old tires and mounted the new tires. To balance, They did a dynamic balance and used stick on weights which they hid behind the spokes where ever possible to make it less visible vs using the pound on style that clamps to the edge of the rim. They used electric impact wrenches to install the wheels and torqued them to factory specs. They even set the tires air pressure to the tire recommended specs. Let's put it this way, if I could of done it myself I would have done it the way they did it! And what I paid was less than what I expected considering the awesome job they did and the service I received. I highly recommend this shop to everyone. Go and see Jeff as he "will" take care of you and your ride. Major props to their technicians working behind the scenes. Your skills and proffesionalism is not going unnoticed. So I went in to Auto Customs one day to purchase 4 new tires. At the time I was riding on my spare which was brand new. I asked them if they could put the spare back up under the truck for me and replace the tires on the other 4 wheels. I got the 4 new tires at a decent price but when I looked at my spare one day, when I needed it again, it was a completely different wheel and tire. The spare I had was BF GOODRICH and the one that was now there wasn't. My lug nuts will BARELY screw on to the wheel and no it's not on backwards. Because of this I now have to purchase a NEW spare, two new lug nuts (they fell off because they don't fit properly) and replace two of the bolts on my truck because they BOTH CRACKED. I do not plan to return to this tire shop, unfortunately though because the man who helped me at the counter was awesome and so was the price. read more

Called to mount and balance some tires, at first I was quoted $25 per, then after asking if they can be very careful because my rims are expensive and telling them how much they were, all of a sudden the price went up to $100 per?!? Why the price inflation all of a sudden? Because you assume I can afford it because the cost of my rims? Mounting them isn't any harder than mounting on fakes. I have a 91 civic that i bought from a friend. Safety was expired, so i tried getting that done. Safety people said my car was lowered and needed recon. I tried to get my recon, recon people said it was to low. Finally got it looked at and i had lowering springs and not coil overs. So i couldnt really adjust the height of my car. I spoke with auto customs and they said get coil overs. I asked them which ones to get. Did my research and said yes please help me. Ordered the coil overs through them, in less then a week they called me back and siad bring it in. Got my coil overs installed. They adjusted them so i could pass my recon with no issues. Then i got my safety done. Really happy with my purchase and customer service and care of auto customs. Next step might be rims. I will totally go to auto customs for those. Really great business. I have been looking for a good alternative tire source for my 2009 BMW 328i for some time. I've had 3 Bimmers, and I cringe each time I have to purchase new tires for my car from the dealer. My current vehicle uses run-flat tires which makes it even more complicated. After some on-line research, I came across Auto Customs in Kalihi and decided to give them a call. Jeff answered and I was immediately struck with his excellent customer service and helpful demeanor. He ordered the tires for me and let me know he would call once they came in. 4 days later, he called just like he said would. I scheduled the appointment that same day since my tires were pretty worn. The facilities were clean and conveniently located, and Jeff continued to provide great CS. They finished in maybe an hour and a half. No scratched rims (this happened to me before elsewhere), no hard sell for other parts or work, just a straight forward tire change. Now there's no shuttle service, no Keurig coffee maker, they don't wash your car, but you don't pay for that either! The price was well under what the dealer would have charged me - which again reinforced with me that I had found the Holy Grail of retail - great service, great price, honesty and integrity. I would go back in a heartbeat. It looks like they also do some very cool custom work as well - which anyone looking for this type of work - should consider Auto Customs as well. Poor customer service in the front, went there to inquire about buying wheels for my truck, and the person never got up to help me. When I asked him for a specific price he still didn't get up. I was in the show room and interested in getting a rim and tire combo, when another person walked in, he then ignored me which was very rude. I was a first time customer at Auto Customs - my mechanic referred me for replacement tires. Brought my 1984 911 Porsche and Jeff was able to give me a quote over the phone and scheduled the install. When I arrived Jeff noticed I made an mistake on the tire sizes and sent his employee to grab the correct size from the warehouse. Although I did have to wait for two hours for the new tires to be delivered and installed Jeff was apologetic and gave me a discount for the inconvenience (even though it was my fault).
