I checked in @ 7:58 AM & left @ 8:37 assisted by Casey the General Manager. There were two cars ahead of me. I went in to get an oil change and tires rotated. I noticed Casey had one staff working in the garage. While sitting in the lounge, Casey informed me that my tires didn't need to be rotated, but showed me how dirty my filter was and offered to changed it. I approved it. Before I was charged she asked if I had a coupon and if I needed a receipt. I was honest with her that I forgot about the coupon (I had this printed & ready when I visited the N. King - I remembered I left it in my work bag). I didn't need the receipt because of how happy she was nice and helpful with me. I WAS WRONG! After I drove off from this location, I went home to Kalihi, visited Target Salt Lake, then Kapolei's Wet n Wild. As I left Kapolei's Wet n Wild, I see multiple lights & warnings on my Dashboard (SEE PHOTO). I heard a weird noise, so I restarted my car. The lights & warnings continued to stay on & as soon as I get onto the Freeway, my car started jerking. I immediately pullover to the side & shut off my car. I began sobbing because I could've risked my SON'S LIFE. Luckily, he did not see me crying because he was taking his nap. I felt like a panic attack coming onto me so I called this location several times. Sadly, it was difficult to get through to them. I drive a preowned 2024 Toyota Limited Rav4. My family relies on me and I cannot imagine losing this car. THIS WILL BE EMAILED AGAIN TO guest.relations@jiffyworld.com + customerservice@jiffylube.com. My other half and I talked business with the owner's daughter Shay Nakamura about the situation and asked certain questions and she couldn't give any feedback to the situation at hand. She tried to give me a discount, but I don't think it was enough, considering I know for a fact they are charging me 3-4x the actual cost for the parts and then will eventually get more money back because of the cores. I text the number they text me with explaining my situation and there were no response. 2 phone numbers they text me from I left a text message, no response. That right there shows me that that they have poor communication skills. Communication was done with text. To be honest, I prefer real conversation with a person/company. I believe that they either did a poor job 2 and a half years ago or the quality of parts they used suck!! I got ripped off the first time and they tried to do that again the second time around. NEVER again will I do business with them!!

No appointment needed for safety check or was not rudely turned away from auto mechanic shops when it gets too busy despite making calls and waiting/confirmation before coming over. Was impressed with the service so I came back again. On my recent return, i noticed the hours changed. I miss this place having to be opened until 4:00ish since my last safety check. Still do not need to get out of the car but just need to get your required documents ready as well as the mileage since they will ask from you verbally and check your odometer. Need to follow the staff instructions as asked and they do check window tint. They usually take out the old safety stick and place new one on your bumper but this time, the staff just placed it over my old which I didn't like. I tried asking but no time so maybe next time... This place can get busy since I had to park on the side and wait in line queue outside and reversing back into traffic on queen street can be intimidating at times when it is busy after all is done. $27 safety check fee which includes tax (but add $3 more if paying by debit/credit card). Some stuff changed but still I would still consider this place again for safety check and for convenience.

And it truly lives up to its name: there are two separate lanes with one person servicing both lanes while a second person is on the side uploading all relevant information, collecting the required annual fee and taking the necessary pictures to be uploaded to the State system as a double check. Both of these gentlemen are extremely knowledgeable, super friendly, courteous, fast and efficient! Although, the location is on the other side of the island from where we live, it is well worth the travel over the mountain because of the time you save making, to me anyway, a huge value! I give McCully Union Service my personal 5-Shaka rating!

All right people's I'm going to tell it like it is. I'm not going to beat around the bush an tell you a bunch of bull. I'm going to be straight up with about Bubba an his staff. First of all I know of at least 4 of them are true veterans, that served in Army, Navy, an Air Force. These guys are very knowledgeable, patient, Honest a very friendly. They treat you like they have known for ever, like you are family. They like there jobs an like helping people when it comes down to fixing there vehicle's. They are straightforward group of guys, an will tell you exactly what's wrong with your vehicle an how much it will cost you to have them fix it. No ring around the rosey peoples. Outstanding, bright an like I said very friendly group of guys who go out of there way to help you. I've been to many auto shops in my days an I have yet to see another auto shop come even close to Bubbas auto shop, They have the experience, troubleshooting to the problem, the technology, the right tools an equipment to get the job done, an the knowledge, the know how to accomplish there missions when it comes down to fixing it. There very efficient an fair. I tell you what people's there is no other shop I will take my truck to, because I've found the one an only that I like , an that is A1 Auto. My family & I will ONLY take our cars to A-1 Auto Repair. We have been dealing with A-1 for years now, and WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE. If your looking for a car repair shops thats: dependable, affordable, experienced, and treats you like family, you should bring your car to A-1 Repair. We take our cars/vans/SUVs in for simple repairs like oil changes or tire replacements, to major repairs such as transmission or timing belt changes. I will never forget the first time dealing with A-1. I had taken my van into another repair shop for my transmission, and this company had quoted me $2200-$3000!!! And I would have to wait a day or two to have my van repaired. I guess just because I'm a female I could be suckered. So my husband told me I should shop around. So luckily I had called A-1, and spoke to Chris. Now Chris really knows his stuff. If you have any questions about your car, Chris is the guy to go to. And of course I brought my van into A-1 instead. I also met the owner Bubba, and his beautiful wife. Bubba is a very humble person, he truly cares about his customers.My van was done in a few hours and my bill was just $300. We need our cars to get to work and back, and sometimes I have grandchildren in tow. So we need a company we can trust, which of course none other than A-1 Auto Repair. It's worth the drive from Ewa. A1-Auto Repar has very reasonable labor rates,I used to take my car to Masaki's Auto repair on Beretania street for years but no more due to their extremley high labor rates $145.00 per hour.I was qutoed to replace both outer CV boots on my Nissan for $525.00 plus tax at Masaki's but at A1-Auto Bubba quoted me $125.00 per side total bill came to $250.00 plus tax,I needed a quote for my ignition switch keeps blowing the fuse ,I paid Masaki's $125.00 just for the diagnostics and another $200.00 for the repair of a damaged wire but 1 month later the same problem returned,Again ,Masakis again charged me $125.00 for another diagnostic test and replaced the starter for $250.00 PARTS not included,almost 1 1/2 years later guess what same problem,I took my car to A1 and they found one of the sensors leaking a tiny amount of oil just enough to cause a short to blow the same fuse,My total bill for troubleshooting and replacing the leaking sensor came to $90.00 parts not included. Bottom line is if your car is a older model like mine worth less than say $1200.00 dolllars and in very good condition and you take your car to Masaki's you may as well sell or scrap your car as it is not worth putting in all that money,I think that at Masaki's they must think that they are lawyers or doctors,Best part also about A1 they do quality work and most of their repairs can be done in one day. read more

Wow! I found A-1 Auto Repair on Yelp and I couldn't be happier with these guys. Bubba and crew really stand by their workmanship. No hassle, no problems, no overcharging...nothing but great customer service at a very fair price. I have on old Jeep that had leaking freeze plugs. Bubba's crew replaced them, but they replaced the ones near the engine mount with rubber plugs, otherwise the engine would need to be lifted off the mounts. I read about rubber freeze plugs and for the most part, they are ok, but some people report they can leak. As luck would have it after about a week, my rubber freeze plug started to leak. I called A-1 and Bubba said no problem bring it back and we'll fix it. So they tightened the rubber freeze plug and all looked good. After about three weeks, the plug started leaking again. I called Bubba and he said, no problem, bring it in and we'll fix it. This time he replaced the rubber plug with a brass plug, and of course, no charge. I watched Bubba's crew spend an hour under my Jeep making sure there were no leaks. They really take pride in making sure the job is done correctly. I am a huge fan of A-1 and they are now my repair garage of choice. Thanks Bubba (and crew). read more

There are no words to express how extremely grateful I am for the work that A-1 Auto Repair did for me. I don't usually take the time to do reviews but in this case it's a must. This is a company of integrity which is so entirely refreshing in this day and age! I originally took my car somewhere else to get my air conditioner and my windshield wipers fixed. The other guy quoted me $2,100.00 to fix my air conditioner and $500 to fix my windshield wipers. Fed up, I brought my car to A-1 Auto Repair. They went outside the box and were able to fix my car. When they called me for an update, I asked for a safety check and they were honest outright. They told me they were $15 more than the other guys. I can't sing enough praises about the honesty I was confronted with. They not only fixed my air conditioner and my windshield wipers, they also replaced my break light and gave me a safety check for $184.21. I was so happy with the news that I told the owner about it. He responded with kindness, humility and gratitude. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. GREAT JOB A-1!!!! read more

Took my '01 Plymouth Neon in to have the scheduled timing belt and water pump replacement. Excellent service and price! A-1 specializes in timing belt changes so they know what they're talking about. I had called 7 different shops for estimates, ranging from $700-1,200! A-1 estimated $476! Highlights: 1) It was cheaper with A-1 because they don't just throw a standard "timing belt package" into your car. This package includes a new tensioner, which is completely unnecessary for a first time belt change, but does add $200 in extra parts, not to mention labor. A-1 inspects the tensioner and replaces it if needed. 2) My estimate over the phone was exact- the gentleman took time to price every single thing, parts and labor. Very helpful with my questions too. 3) I saved even more money from the estimate! They inspected my camshaft seals and turned out they were in excellent condition, so that saved $50 in replacement. Final cost: $457 after tax! A-1 is the place to go- don't waste your money on those other jokers. read more

There's much to be said about taking your car back to the same auto repair shop throughout the years. The owner of A1 Auto Repair, Bubba is so fair and honest you never feel you're being taken advantage of. As a woman who is very cautious of car repair shops this shop is a lifesaver. Bubba's staff have taken care of my 1996 Chrysler Town and Country LXI for years. Timo is a great manager that books my appointments and has lot's of patience explaining estimates and invoices to me. I ask a lot of questions. Pete is usually the mechanic who works on my car and he, too, explains things to me so that I get it. I never want to give up my Chrysler van because I love it and it's been good to me. So I won't give up A1 Auto Repair because I love them for getting it! I brought my car in once and somehow had pulled my fender off without knowing it. Melvin jumped in and fixed it for me as a courtesy. Excuse me, where does that ever happen? I couldn't be happier with the service I received at A-1 Auto. My beautifully restored classic car is now running better than ever, thanks to Bubba and his team. They really took the time to go over everything and make sure my car was in top shape. Here's what they did: they replaced the fuel pump and inline filter, cleaned out the bad fuel, added fresh fuel, checked the brakes for leaks, flushed the brake fluid, cleaned up the master cylinder, repaired the A/C switch, and completed the Safety Check. Every detail was addressed, and it's clear that Bubba takes great pride in his work, especially when it comes to classic cars you're afraid to trust just any mechanic with. I shipped my '95 Saab to Honolulu after having it serviced by my mechanic on the Big Island. After 1-day of driving the car about town the heating coolant line split and my car lost all of the coolant. The car sputtered, lost compression and smoke was coming out of the hood. I called my Big Island mechanic and told him my dilemma. He said he would make a few inquiries for me and find the best mechanic that his "affiliates" would recommend. After 15 minutes (and while waiting for AAA to arrive to tow me) he called me and was given a very good referral - It was A-1 Auto on Mo'owaa Street. I called them and told them my predicament. After being towed, with no appointment, they took my car in and within 2-hours it was ready for pick-up. No hassle, no waiting and they were EXTREMELY fair in their pricing. They started out fine but Backed my car into a pole and a nail scraped the back side panel. Had that fixed by a next door paint shop at NO Charge but when I asked to touch up a couple of other scrathces on the car, They made up for the cost to have the orginal gouge fixed. Then I get a call from them about fixing a belt that car and they broke my AC, I'm like OK fix it. There response is that it could happened any time so if I wanted is fixed I would have to PAY for that. IT WAS WORKING WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN! YOU BROKE IT - FIX IT! I own a 1970 chevelle and I thought I was in for a world of pain when I needed a major malfunction to be fixed. I hunted around for auto shops and couldn't get booked an appointment for weeks! I found A-1, I literally called on a thursday and was able to bring it in the next day. It gets better, they figured out the malfunction right then and there! I wasn't going to have to wait several hours for an answer to what was wrong they figured it out within minutes and serviced it splendidly. That's not all, with my car now working just fine I was thinking I'd be 200 bucks down for the services when it merely costed me 40 bucks! I recently took my Nissan in to the dealership and was told my rear differential was malfunctioning. They quoted me $3500 to repair. I wanted a second opinion and took my vehicle to A1 Auto Repair where they could not find anything wrong my rear diff. In fact, Joe and Bubba both told me that I had a whole different issue that was causing noises while accelerating. Since I've used A1 once before (and they have a very trusted reputation within the military community) I chose to go with their diagnosis. My vehicle issue has been completely repaired and I saved a serious amount of money. I will not be using the dealership for service/repairs anymore and will stick with A1....Thank you A1 for being a dependable and honest auto repair business. read more

I can park my 94 Accord in the driveway again! Tony Honda gave me a quote to fix my oil leaks, CV boots, and front upper ball joints for a total of $3007.78. I bought my car for $1200, so not a chance. I took my car and my Honda quote to A-1 automotive and $217.60 later, my car no longer leaks and my CV boots are replaced. All for less than what Tony Honda quoted my CV boot replacement alone! Customer service at A-1 was great and you can tell that their mechanics actually enjoy working there and working on vehicles. I found my mechanic for my old car and my 2011 minivan from here on. Oh and BTW, Tony misdiagnosed one leak (to charge more, no doubt) and my front upper ball joints are fine (verified by multiple mechanics). read more

My son took his car here, the mechanic told him nothing could be done and the engine was fried. He happily took my sons money to do the inspection. The problem I had is we tried reaching out to Bubba a number of times to find out what exactly was wrong with the car. Not once did he return any of our phone calls. We had the car towed to the dealership instead to be repaired. The worst and most insulting part was awhile the car was parked at the garage someone hit the front bumper. And it's not like we can complain, they don't respond to phone calls . My suggestion is to not trust this mechanic. read more

Chris and the rest of the guys at A-1 are the fastest, most honest men I've ever had work on my cars. After getting ripped-off repeatedly by Midas Kahului AND Honolulu, I took my 4Runner to A1. Chris told me what was really happening and saved me $1000. In a bad run of luck, we had to take our van there. Again- fastest, cheapest service. Every time I need something done, they get me in for service the same day. These guys have repeatedly saved my butt several times. I have used A-1 on a couple of occasions and feel that not only are they good at what they do but they are also very honest. I took my old car in for some diagnostic work and, after driving and analyzing my car, they said that the car was beyond repair and didn't charge me anything. Well folks what a pleasant relief, someone who took time to explain what he was going to do and the possible costs. I'm late but about 2 years ago I bought a 1970 Chevelle and it was honestly a mistake on my behalf lol, luckily for me, A-1 was able to fix it up within a reasonable budget and I was able to sell it as a working car and not a piece of junk. As for parking, not sure when parking is ever convenient on this small island. Anyways when I had no other shop to turn to A-1 was there and helped out. Thank you guys read more

After paying $50 for a simple nail fix I requested to get my tires rotated and it was an additional $50. Not very ideal for poor and hasty service. The manager doesn't speak English, is also not very friendly, and ignored two of my questions. Do not recommend coming here unless you want expensive service and to be treated poorly. It also took me 25 minutes to leave because the staff kept fighting about the placement of the cars in the shop. Manager should be fired he treats his staff very unkindly.

Went on vacay and came home to realize it was happening more frequently and quicker. I let Tati know what was going on and she recommended for me to drop off on a Tuesday for it to get looked at. When I brought the car in, it was busy busy so I honestly assumed it'd be there maybe a week or so. To my surprise Colin contacted me Thursday to let me know he had found the problem. Bad radiator and condenser fans for cooling system. He gave me a quote on what it would be for parts and labor and I gave him the green light. Colin let me know Friday morning my car was all fixed up and ready. They had let her run for a bit to make sure no overheating occurred and all went so well! I was soooooooo happy and thankful for everyone at Tanaka Auto. Definitely my go to. Not my first visit with them so this review is long overdue!

When she opened the front, the oil cap was missing and there was oil everywhere. It even started leaking to the inside of the car. We had to have it towed to New City Nissan, and we were told by a lady on the phone who works at this company that they would cover the cost of everything. After everything was cleaned up by new city nissan, this place changed their story and absolutely refused to pay for anything so we had to pay out of pocket. Then, they tried to blame US for the oil cap going missing. Through a phone call claiming, "that's your problem." EXACT QUOTE DIRECTLY FROM THE OWNER HIMSELF, FRANK. Again, what we were getting checked out had NOTHING to do with any part of the oil system, so they shouldn't have touched it in the first place. We came in with a minor issue, yet we were left with an even bigger problem which continues to need repair a week later. You guys are prideful of being an "honest" auto shop, yet there was nothing honest about this experience...nor can you guys take any ounce of accountability. I STRONGLY recommend taking your vehicle to anyone else. If you're going to all have bad attitudes and treat your customers terrible, at least do your job well. But unfortunately, these people are incapable of doing either. The way they are responding to their reviews should tell you enough. Don't waste your time.

After a nightmare 7-month ordeal at…read moreLand Rover Honolulu (botched repairs leading to new oil and coolant leaks, disconnected sensors, etc.--see my other review), I took my 2016 LR4 to Benz & Jagz Specialists in Honolulu, and they completely turned things around.Service Advisor Flora Zar was outstanding--professional, communicative, and thorough from the start. They had the vehicle for about 3 weeks and performed extensive diagnostics and repairs that addressed everything the dealership introduced or failed to fix properly.Key work included:Full diagnosis uncovering issues like ABS/restraint module faults (U0074, U3000), O2 sensor code, and valve cover leaks. Replacing valve cover gaskets, resealing upper timing cover, new intake/supercharger gaskets, injector seals, and spark plug tube seals--eliminating the burning oil smell. Replacing Bank 1 Sensor 3 O2 sensor and clearing codes. Installing and programming a new Restraint Control Module (RCM) to resolve traction/ABS faults. Major coolant system overhaul: new water pump, connecting pipe, updated hoses, front and rear crossover pipes (including the rear one the dealer "replaced" but still leaked), and more--no leaks after testing. They used quality parts (brand-new RCM with 1-year warranty), took time to explain everything, and road-tested multiple times. The invoice was detailed and transparent--no surprises.These guys are true specialists in European/Land Rover repairs. Knowledgeable, efficient, honest pricing for the complexity involved, and they treated my vehicle with care.
