I absolutely loved my meal. My partner and I got the four meat four veggie sampler platter and everything was flavorful and tasty. We couldn't even decide which was our favorite because everything was fantastic. The portion size was also nice, we finished about half and were able to take the rest home. Ambiance and decor is also cute! I didn't get a cocktail, but they are reasonably priced as well.

I've ordered from Authentic EthioAfrican Kitchen, Bar & Cafe several times through Postmates and have always had a good experience. I usually go for the vegan combo dishes, which are flavorful and satisfying. I especially love their fresh and delicious injera. Overall, great food and reliable delivery. I would definitely return again and recommend it to others!

Impressive to say the least! The aromas & decor are enough to make you want to sit down and give it a well deserved shot. They also have a full bar with an excellent selection of beers. The menu is 80% Vegan friendly with wonderful plates to fly solo and enjoy or share with company. Yum to say state the obvious. If you are a carnivore like me you need to order the Tibs or devour their beef tartare! It isn't traditional tartare as in being raw. You may choose to have it cooked to your liking. I suggest rare or medium at the most. Their staff are polite and inviting. The owner told me that they also have a location in Scottsdale. This Phoenix location on McDowell will make you feel like you are in another country. Ethiopian food is among one of my favorites. This authentic Ethiopian restaurant will make you want to come back and bring your friends. They will be impressed!

Tuesday night visit, first visit. We spent nearly two hours at the restaurant. Our order consisted of an appetizer and two entrees. The service was ok. The server was nice, things just took awhile to come out. The ambience was low lighting. We had a mix of meat and vegan items with sega wot key and meser wot being our favorites. The awaze wings were well seasoned.

The food was just as my pallet was craving! Service was exceptional and atmosphere delightful. I definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for authentic Ethiopian food, served in a timely manner. Best in the Valley and I definitely have this spot on my calendar for once a month. Great healthy eating bonappetit

My friend's bday was Valentine's Day so I asked her to pick a spot so we can get together and celebrate the next day. We decided to go to this spot at 11am Saturday which is when they opened! We were seated and greeted right away which was awesome. Entering this restaurant transports you to another place! The decor, the seating, everything was so authentic to who they are and what they serve. We absolutely loved that. We sat down and ordered drinks. It looked like there was only one server so it did take about 20 minutes to get our drinks but they were absolutely delicious. Then we asked what she would recommend to eat as we had never been there and she recommended the sharing platter of vegetable and meat. We got two veggie and two meat, spicy and mild and a side of rice. Let me tell you, it was flavorful and it did not disappoint. We were there for quite a while cause we just enjoyed the whole atmosphere and took our time with the food. We ordered another round of drinks and those came fairly quickly. Next time we will order dessert as well! Definitely a spot to check out! Worth it!

Meat combo for two people $19.

I came here this day with a meetup group of 6 people. Other Yelp reviewers were right. Service was really slow..... to meeeee. Menu came 20 min after I sat down. Took half hour after that for someone to come take our orders. I was life must be that slow in Ethiopia. I ordered meat combo $19 to share with one other person. Menu says to be shared for two people, but nothing to divide 1 drumstick, and one HB egg. Comes with beef Sega wot , Chicken Doro wot and Gormen Besga . The injera was really quite cold, like from refridgerator and very rubbery! I was expecting it to be warm. Baklava was good! Large piece for $5. Took forever for the coffee to come, we were leaving. This place, not my thing ..... See my other reviews.

We waited an hour for our food, despite there only being one or two other tables seated. My Shiro Wot was fine, every dish my party got was pretty spicy. The restaurant was quiet and dim.

We came here for lunch, and we very impressed. The food was authentic, flavorful, and reasonably priced. I liked how we could build our own plate and mix and match vegetarian and meat dishes. My cocktail (The Afro) was also good, although I would have appreciated more unique options. The inside was beautifully decorated and the servers were all very nice. I'm only rating it a 4 star instead of a 5 star restaurant because they were out of quite a bit of food, which was disappointing. We wanted to get coffee and dessert, but they were out of the carrot cake I wanted. Other than that, we would definitively recommend this restaurant and will be returning ourselves.

Came here day after V day with Sherpa and it was a nice experience. I've been wanting to come here for some time as I follow them on other social media channels and liked what the posted. Very solid Ethiopian food here and we ordered the 2 veg + 2 meat sample platter. Lentils and doro wat dishes. Price also very reasonable! They also have tej honey wine here and it was nice to have some after a long time! Nice experience with Ethiopian art displayed throughout. I would love to come back for the teff carrot cake and ceremonial coffee. Service was really friendly and prompt. I will definitely be back!

The Gaeng Panang beef was a highlight--exceptionally tender, rich, and deeply flavorful with just the right balance of heat and depth. The green papaya salad was fresh and light, offering a perfect contrast, while the pad Thai chicken was absolutely delicious and beautifully executed. The mango sticky rice was completely off the charts--perfectly ripe, delicately sweet, and unforgettable. The staff was warm, attentive, and effortlessly dialed in, elevating the entire experience without ever overstepping. I already can't wait to come back with friends... though part of me hopes I don't regret sharing this gem when it suddenly becomes impossible to get a table. And to top it all off, Chef Gabby's charm and genuine excitement about sharing food from Thailand shines through in every detail.

I was excited to try a new Thai place in downtown Phoenix…read more We were sat at our table by the hostess and waited approximately 20 minutes for our server to come over for drink orders. They seemed confused when I asked for whiskey listed on the menu on the rocks and had me click the buttons for them on their mobile ordering device to make sure it was right...that was strange, We ordered two apps as well which were bland- tofu and a papaya salad. We then were left alone without anyone returning for about fifteen minutes when we got the drinks and appetizers from the kitchen and bartender, who directly came over versus our server. When we placed our orders the server pushed me toward medium even though I said hot or Thai hot was more my range (I have eaten straight Thai chilis without issue in Thailand). But he insisted so I picked medium. From when we ordered to when we got the food was about 50 minutes. The food was nothing memorable and the spice tasted like chili flakes or powder versus real Thai chilis. At not point outside of the two interactions of ordering did we see our server again, and we had to flag down the hostess to get the check. It was worth asking her to split four people into two bills by order so we did a clean break. She seemed very disinterested in our table from the moment we sat, which she told us it would be tough to move us from an available high top in the sun to a lower table given how many reservations they had...I did not see anyone waiting for a table at any point but that is not relevant to my scoring here. For two drinks, four meal, and two apps this felt overpriced. The portion of meat for the entrees felt paltry and I was hungry within an hour or so. If the service wasn't so bad and the meal overall time there not 2 hours I would give it a 2.5 or 3. Either way I don't plan to come back. Phoenix has a few decent Thai or Thai adjacent spots in Lom Wong and Glai Baan.

Cute little hidden gem!…read more We stopped by on a Tuesday night around 9 PM, and it was pretty quiet. We were happy to find out the kitchen was still open. They had nice, ice-cold $5 Tecates, which hit the spot after riding our bikes around downtown. We ordered the nachos and added al pastor meat. Let me tell you!! those nachos were MASSIVE! Every single chip seemed to have toppings on it, and somehow they stayed crunchy the entire time. This is definitely a dish meant for sharing. There were only two of us, and it still took us quite a while to make a dent in the plate. The guacamole was one of the highlights for me. It was incredibly flavorful with a slightly garlicky taste that made it absolutely addictive. We also asked for salsa, and the bartender brought out all three options. None were quite spicy enough for my taste, but that was okay because the nachos themselves were packed with flavor. The al pastor was decent, though a little on the dry side. Since it was later in the evening, I wasn't expecting it to be at its absolute freshest, so it wasn't a big deal. We didn't order anything else this visit, but we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The bartender was super friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The best part of the night? When it was time to pay, we found out that a random guy sitting at the bar had already covered our tab. Such an unexpected and kind surprise! I didn't get any pictures this time, but I'll definitely be taking some when we come back. Looking forward to our next visit!

Amazing, unique experience!…read more I arrived with the preconceived ideas about being jostled in long lines in a poorly cooled pizza joint, sitting in a crowded restaurant at plastic tables eating plastic food. That misconception disappeared immediately upon stepping through the doorway. Warm, inviting ambiance, full of character. Attending the birthday celebration for an esteemed young man, our table wasn't ready (we were early) and the hostess offered us seats at the bar while awaiting our party. We each had a wine spritzer... may I say that the very few such concoctions I've had bearing that name didn't do justice to what we were served. I've never had anything like this, a "Sgroppino" (I'm partial to strawberry!) and it was perhaps the best adult beverage I've had in a very long time. Many different nuances in a glass. Stunning subtle, many diverse flavors. Mmm. Our bartender was an artist of the mixed adult beverage, a delightful individual with a warm, genuine smile and an encyclopedic knowledge of how to do his job expertly. Rare that you meet someone like this who isn't all measuring cups and shot glasses: everything he concocted was done by eye, and judging by what he made for us, his expertise was immediately apparent. Ben fatto. È andata benissimo, brava. When we'd all arrived, we were escorted to the "garden shed"... a smaller out-building filled with racks of wine, perhaps an ideal place for small wedding receptions or engagement parties. Well-cooled despite our broiling Phoenix evening. We had the garlic bread; someone ordered IL Tagliere, Calamari (no, thank you), and a basket of bread. You know how you go to a hamburger joint and what you're served looks nothing like the photos of their menu? Go to CiBO's web site and look at their menu: What you see in their photos is what you get. One visit and next time you look at their menu online, you'll salivate. Yes, the food is that good. I ordered the calzone. Delicious. Getting through it wasn't pretty... but it was excellent. Huge, very generous entree. Excellent flavors. Our server was delightful, attentive without being a nuisance. Our water glasses never reached empty, and the stories about the birthday boy (and others) were never interrupted. We never made it to desserts. Too much food and amusing stories. CiBO: È andata benissimo, brava.
