So this place is super tasty but a little on the expensive side. The restaurant is super chic and modern with good service. We started with the summer rolls with shrimp, And I ordered the pad Thai with shrimp which was super tasty but around $17. It was very flavorful and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The peanuts were crush and pushed to the side so I'm assuming you could even ask for the pad Thai without them. The coconut shrimp soup is also very tasty and flavorful. Came here to celebrate my sons Birthday(Asian is never my first choice) however this place was really good! Staff is SO friendly and food is very fresh and tasty. We started with some spring rolls and the soft crab app and also a matcha latte. Latte was very hot and the apps where good my favorite was the soft shell crab it was so good. Our entrees consisted of Mongolian beef/cashew chicken/some sushi/Pad Kee Mow.. no one was disappointed at all. My entree was medium and to me it was kinda spicy. So I finally found me a Thai style restaurant that I am going to love. now you know this is the Addison area so meals are never going to be cheap, prices are going to be competitive. with that being said you expect to get a certain amount of food for your money, This place hit it right on the spot. I was so happy that they gave me enough food, they gave me plenty of tofu and very nice size cuts which is amazing cause I never see that and I'm a vegetarian. Normally when you get tofu, they give you less tofu than what they give a person who eats meat. Also the food had that grilled smoky taste which was delicious. After attending their online cooking demo a couple of weeks ago and learning that they had curry on their menu I decided to put in an order. After picking up my order the curry called my name all the way home--yes, 20 miles until I got home! And yes, it was still pipping hot and super yummy! The curry was not super spicy, but had just the right amount of flavor and spiciness. The actual sauce is so good you could just eat that on its own! I drove approximately an hour to the location on Forest Lane and Hwy 75 to order crab fried rice and wings. I told the waiter this because I was excited to get my rice.I asked for some sweet sauce when I ordered. When I finally received my order there was one in the bag. I kindly asked for one more and he explained to me that he gave me the one for free and that he should have charged me for it and that I could have another sauce if I paid for it. This is a super cute restaurant right across the street from Medical City Dallas Hospital in a plaza. The menu is simple. It says Asian Fusion but literally most of the dishes are Thai and Japanese since they serve sushi. The rice they serve is Jasmine rice. I ordered the green basil fried rice with shrimp and my friend ordered the Pad Thai. The food came put within 7 minutes which was impressive. It was steaming hot; both our dishes and we were there around dinner time. The fried rice I ordered was SPOT ON. I love this basil and the rice was fully flavored with it which was super yummy. Only thing was the rice was sweet. Like they added sweet soy sauce or something which threw me off but it was still tasty. They have a very good happy hour menu where appetizers are half off I believe and they have a huge selection of mixed drinks. We were very disappointed with our takeout from this restaurant location this weekend. I called the order in and it was ready when I arrived as usual. They are very good at estimating the time it will take for pick up. However when I got home to eat it , somehow to food was Very Bland. We have been dining with Asian Mint for years both inside and takeout. We have invited others to dine there too. So I will give them a break and toss this up to everybody has a bad day. Their food has always been stellar so sometimes was "off" . I know that they have been really growing locations around the metro area and that sometimes leads to diminishing quality. Food is so flavorful and yummy, and is in a great location off of HWY 75, so people from around the general area can easily access this restaurant. My recommendation -order the pad Thai at a 4 spice level (so you don't burn your tongue off) with no peanuts (personally, I preferred it without the crunch), and order with GLASS NOODLES. Asian Mint is a relatively new spot with restaurants riddled around the Dallas/Richardson area. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing service and warmth we were greeted with. Upon entrance, you order on kiosks. This is especially nice if you are indecisive like me and hate looking confused in front of the register. It was ok except my beef was still raw on inside and I had to ask for it to be cooked longer. Furthermore, the dish was anything but "fire." It completely lacked spiciness and was more sweet then spicy. I almost wondered if I was given the wrong dish. The shrimp was ok but just ok. Prices are a bit high, $10 for a plate w/o sides. I love the new and expanded remodel! love the decor-bright green (green is the pantone color of the year!) and the fun new lucite chairs. the new bar looks fun too. started out with an order of edamame-yum! i usually order the same thing because i love it so much-the red curry with shrimp, but this time i did with chicken. very good as usual-i do think i like the shrimp better. it's in a coconut milk base, i mix with the rice (i had brown rice)-kinda like a soup. i tasted my sister and niece's dish and i think I will order it next time-the basil fried rice with chicken-super delicious! loved the flavor. I came here for dinner tonight and was not disappointed. One of the most amazing things about this place though is that on a Thursday night getting there at about 5:30 their dining room was almost completely full. But almost is the operative word and we were seated immediately. If I have any complaints about this place it is at the tables are pretty tight because the place is pretty small and it is awkward sometimes getting into your table without pudding your butt in the people's face seated next to you. It is also pretty difficult to have conversations there without then bleeding into the talk at the other nearby tables. It may sound Petty but it is a thing and I dropped them a star rating because of it. Otherwise this would have probably been close to a 4-star experience. We started our dinner out with the crispy fried vegetable egg rolls. Those are one of the things that the Asian mint does better than almost all of the restaurants I go to. My main meal was the cashew chicken stir fry. It was good and flavorful and had just the right amount of heat to it however it was very short on cashews. If it is in the name it should be on the plate! My other concern what is the wait person. He was merely going through the motions without any emotions. Our biggest connection with any of the employees was with the bus person who was cleaning the tables around us. He was very friendly and engage him and should have probably switch places with the waiter. Hopefully they will realize soon that he would be a good Frontline for the customers.
