Updating my review from 5 stars to 3. I still love the food and the staff are very friendly. No complaints there. Unfortunately the place is filthy. I really really just want them to clean it or hire some professionals. The walls are covered in bits of food, the ceiling, fans, and vents have a thick layer of dust, even the condiment bottles look like they don't get washed often. An older man served our food today and he had black under his nails. It just makes you wonder what you can't see, like back in the kitchen. This place seems to be very popular and the staff work so hard, so I don't think the hygiene issue will deter too many people, but I'm reluctant to ever order food there again. I really hope they see this review and consider cleaning the place up, because they do have excellent food and I'm going to miss it. read more

This isn't my first time ordering Pho for delivery. However, it is my first time having the Mi Bo Kho. Such a savory pho with a nice amount of beef. I love that everything is fresh and I absolutely recommend it - especially during the fall/winter months. We also ordered Garlic Beef and Chicken Dumplings, but I didn't get a pic of that. Those were good as well. I will say the Garlic Beef had a ton of mushrooms - I'm not a fan of mushrooms, it was good though. read more

I'm grateful that there is Vietnamese food so far south of Chicago. Although the egg rolls are an odd combination of Vietnamese and Chinese taste and texture, the noodle salad with grilled beef was exactly what I expected and wanted. The slender egg rolls had a light, crisp skin but the filling felt and tasted strange, like mashed tofu, noodles and cabbage. The generous bowl of noodle salad salvaged the dining experience. The noodles were perfectly tender yet firm. The beef was beautifully seasoned and grilled. There were plenty herbs, veggies and peanuts to balance the meal; and the delicious pungent sauce was authentic. 3 1/2 stars out of 5 read more

Not the usual pungent sauce of a pho dish typically used as the broth. The chicken wings might be the best kept secret in town. Just a great size, flavor, and crispness to make this a staple whenever I'm in the mood for wings. The chili sauce on the wings give you just enough sweet, a little spice, and packed with flavor. The sweet and sour chicken is a hidden gem. Unlike most restaurants, the chicken portions are huge chunks of white meat chicken. It's not full of dough like most locations. This is all chicken and very light breading. The sauce itself is tricky, when it first reached the table the sauce was flavorless. Being from Houston, there were a lot of pho places around my house. I can finally say that I found a place that satisfies my Vietnamese food cravings! I visit frequently here and try to get different things each time. The people who work there are so friendly and I've been happy every time I go! I usually order the pork banh mi sandwich. The bread is delicious and it's a good sized portion. The pho is good too! My favorite part are the drinks. They have tapioca and it's probably the best out of all the places that offer bubble tea - most places serve tapioca pretty bland but there is some sweetness to it. My top favorite, the crab Rangoon are delicious. I tried crab Rangoon for the first time prior to Asian kitchen and I didn't like them. When I tried them at Asian kitchen they became my favorite. Utterly sensational. I was wondering how a place can have 50 rave reviews out of 50. And now I know why... First of all, the pictures don't do proper justice. This was absolutely the Biggest bowl served of pho that I've ever had. The bowl was Humongous. For only $7.95 (veggie pho) I think this was WAY generous of a serving. The ingredients were loaded, super fresh veggies, and the tofu was fantastic. Lastly, the service was incredible. The waitress who took my order asked if I was a vegetarian. I said no, and she explained she was asking because the soup generally comes with chicken broth. And if I wanted, I could sub for veggie broth. How cool was that?? Normally a waitress would just write down an order and walk away. Very impressive.... This is now my new Favorite spot for pho. For NW Indiana this place is authentic, but not the best I have had. Located in a strip mall, the store is very unassuming. We also went on one of the coldest days of the year thus far (but what could be better than a hot bowl of Pho to warm me up from the inside)? All of the ingredients were fresh and they were able to easily and quickly accommodate my food allergies (All forms of chili peppers). When I asked for extra culantro and limes they appeared, as if by magic (yes our server was great). I had the Pho, other than the sauce being a tad bland but easily fixed, was very well done and I brought most of it home. A good broth is a must for an excellent Pho. My dining companion had the sesame beef, which was well done. Very well balanced sauce, beef was VERY tender, and it was a huge sized portion. We split the Hawaiian rice- this was truly DISAPPOINTING. The pineapple in the dish was not really ripe and had not much flavor and no sweetness. The tomatoes were also not ripe and had a good texture and no taste. Now considering that none of these things are in season then it MUST be accommodated for with the sauce. All of the flavor notes in the rice were a miss, in fact, the whole thing was just "meh". I brought it home, added more soy sauce, duck sauce, honey, and refried it in my wok... it was much better. I do recommend giving it a try; for the region it is excellent, hands down. It has VERY limited seating so I don't recommend going with a large group. Clearly designed for take away and will not be a disappointment. read more

Awesome Pho! I knew of Pho for a while. I watch cooking travel channels. I had the #32 here. It was awesome! The tea was ok too, however I was not used to the taste of the tea. I stuck with water. The person there was very nice, and told me that I could add the veggies and also sriracha. The person there told me to go easy on the sriracha... I put a little too much in...but it was still very good. I will be going back. Next time I will leave the Pho alone and not put any sriracha in it. read more

So this is my 2nd review for this establishment. My Lady and I had them on Wednesday and well today we were having a craving for some pho and decided to try some other dishes as well. Today we decided to try the following meals: (spelling from their menu) # 24 Hawainnan Fried Rice # 29 Pho Tai, Na Gan # 40 Vietnamese Chili & Lemongrass Chicken(we did without the chili) For drinks we did the Coconut Smoothie and Thai Iced Tea So to add on here for others who have never ordered from this establishment before, when you place your order if you are not for spicy or just do not want to eat too much spicy food you can ask when placing your order if they can make something mild. So their Hawainnan Fried Rice in my opinion had a great flavor to it, as you get pineapple, tomato and pork as well mixed within. the Pho we chose to go with this time, was almost the same as last one we ordered in the week, but had tendon in it this time along with the eye round steak and flank. The Vietnamese Chili & Lemongrass Chicken, I will assume it tasted good with the chili as well, but because my partner can not handle too much spicy foods, we asked if they could do it without the chili and they were able too. Overall our meals were great, we loved all the flavors of the dishes we tried today. The coconut smoothie has an awesome flavor as that of a coconut, as my lady got it this time and I went ahead tried their Thai Ice tea which I got to say had a nice flavor compared to other establishment's versions. Also we have to say of other 2 to 3 Chinese food establishments we use to go to, Asian Kitchen is not our #1 and only to go to establishment in NW Indiana. Wowee is this place tasty. I haven't had anything here that I didn't enjoy. But my hands-down favorite is their spring rolls. I order them no matter what else I decide on. Amazing pho and I can't wait to try the banh mi and other dishes. My dad, who is 89, asked me recently about where to get pho in the area. He'd had it years ago when he visited me in Seattle, and he loved it (though my mother did not). We got the last table during a busy lunch hour and I could see and smell the amazing bowls of pho at the table next to us. Dad got a beef pho and I had the veggie version, which was packed with broccoli, Bok choy, carrots and green and red peppers + tofu. We will definitely be back and I'll take photos next time. This is a hidden gem! My brother in law recommended this place to me.They are so clean! They had bottles of hand sanitizer on the tables before covid. Everything looked so good I had trouble deciding. I wanted something I never had, something fresh, so I got the papaya salad! I am hooked. It's so freaking good. I got the spring rolls as well.
