Great ambiance/food/ice cream and coffee. The family atmosphere and kind hearted workers tied the experience in perfectly.

This is a welcome addition to Hammond, and it's a great location right across the street from Purdue. I wish it was easier to find information about their menu online. The Banana Strawberry Nutella Crepe was tasty, and I enjoyed my White Lavender Dream latte as well. read more

Great new coffee shop just opened in Hammond. I read about their opening in the local paper and stopped by on my way to work this morning. They are just across the street from Purdue Northwest on 169th St in Hammond. I work in one of the PNW buildings around the corner. This is going to be dangerous! 219 Grounds is a nice little coffee shop with a great location on the corner. Plenty of seating for working and meeting. Even some outdoor seating for the warmer weather. Most importantly the coffee is good! I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and thoroughly enjoyed it. They also offer several other treats and pastries including cookies, ice cream and ice cream bars. I will definitely be making many more trips here. read more

I have been wanting to try 219 Grounds for a while since this area does not have as many local coffee shops other than big chains. The ambiance is modern but warm and inviting, with lots of seating. Perfect for catching up with a friend or getting some work done. My friend and I both got their iced horchata lattes with oatmilk. Some coffee shops are adorable and have great atmosphere but their coffee itself can lack flavor. NOT this place! 219 Grounds has amazing coffee and I love their unique menu. They also have paninis which were so flavorful. I saw they have churros as well which I am definitely going to go back and try! I love how this is family owned because you can see how much love they put into this shop. The owner interacts with all of the customers and stops by to chat and make sure you're doing okay. That is so refreshing itself, and you know that they genuinely appreciate their customers. read more

The Coffee is good. The Panini used to actually have a good amount of Turkey and avocado but is now mostly lettuce. Definitely noticeable decrease in portion size and meat. I've been looking forward to checking out 219 Grounds, and it didn't disappoint. The couple who owns it is genuinely so sweet, and the whole place has a really welcoming vibe. It's minimal, modern, and there's tons of seating--perfect if you want to hang out, get some work done, or just enjoy your coffee without feeling rushed. My husband got the iced Spanish latte and said it was really good. I had a sip and it was super smooth and just the right amount of sweet. We also picked up a bag of their house blend to try at home, and I'm actually excited to brew it tomorrow morning. They also offer paletas, ice cream, pastries, paninis, and crepes--which all looked amazing. Definitely planning to go back and try more from their menu. It's right across the street from Purdue Northwest, so it's a really convenient stop if you're in the area. Honestly, just so happy to have a spot like this nearby. read more

This place is clean, fast and friendly with a wonderful variety of drinks. There's so much more than coffee here: flavored lemonades, ice cream, baked goods, paninis and some perfect looking crepes. The place was full of young adults when we stopped in at 3:00, everyone happy and social. We stopped here on the way through town between Maryland and Wisconsin. Once in a while we like to spend our morning at a nice coffee place with an ambience conducing for studying, reading, or a comfortable conversation with friends. 219 Grounds is the perfect place for that. We ordered their drip coffee, a honey matcha, a turkey panini, and honey croissant with almonds. Everything was well served with good portions and delicious. I appreciated their reasonable prices and excellent service. I have visited different coffee shops around Munster, Hammond, and Schererville; 219 Grounds is certainly one of the best. We will be visiting them often. read more

We stopped in here yesterday for coffee and a crepe and so glad we did! I had an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. Seriously one of the best I've had. It was so good I purchased a bag of their beans to take home. I also ordered a strawberry banana crepe with whipped cream. Delicious as well. Coffee and ice cream were great! The staff was very friendly. There was a good amount of space for multiple tables and a relaxing ambiance.
