I was still slightly full from lunch, so I had a few bites of the cupcake and took the rest home. This place feels like coffeehouses from decades long gone, well before Starbucks changed the coffee landscape. There are plenty of chairs and seats for comfortable seating. And it may be that I arrived when there was no crowd because service was spot on. Although I took advantage of the good weather to sit outside, I will come here when I want coffee and a relaxed atmosphere without any rush.

I wanted to check out some local places and I had been following Ixxa Coffee on IG and they are just 8 minutes from our home! It's so inviting, warm and decked out with BEAUTIFUL FOLIAGE!!! We loved all the plants! We are plant parents! I had the iced honey chai latte and my Hubby had the serenitea. We loved and enjoyed our drinks! We also had a chocolate croissant and an almond croissant. Both were fresh and yummy! After leaving, I went back to IG and saw the story of the owners and I felt more connected to the coffee shop! Even though they were large, I really miss the smaller, well‑made sandwiches Soho used to have. The ambience has changed too. It no longer has that comfortable, relaxing feel that made Soho Sweets such a pleasant spot for South Holland. Instead, it feels like we traded a cozy neighborhood favorite for a very basic ice cream shop. SoHo Sweets had wonderful ice cream and great sandwiches. This new place was, unfortunately, a letdown.
