This place has been one of my favorite places to go to on the weekends for lunch. The staff are really nice. There's hardly any wait to get order. The drinks and food are really good. Good size portions. The ambiance has a relaxed rocker/artsy type of vibe. I like the menu written a big chalkboard as soon as you walk into the place. My go-to drink is the iced Mocha latte. My go-to food is the pulled pork sammich. This visit I had the iced Mocha latte and the Beef bomb sammich, which were good. The sammich has lots of roast beef slices, blue cheese crumbles, horseradish cheddar cheese sauce, caramelized onions, and arugula mix on a chiabatta bread. The blue cheese and horseradish cheddar are not overpowering. I'll definitely be back soon! read more

Stopped in here today with my husband, toddler, BIL and SIL. We ordered the Turkey Dolo, Nihilist Grindhouse and Curry-Age (all delish). My toddler gobbled up the Turkey Dolo. We additionally ordered the Summer Islander Iced, Mallowed Be Thy Name Hot, Tenderheart & Cheer Iced and The Boatman's Call Hot (each one hit the spot). It is very intimidating going to local cafes other than big chain restaurants because most of the time drinks are not to the expectation, but THIS place is AMAZING!!! I tried their seasonal Love Shack Latte, delicious deliciousness! The menu is posted on a large chalkboard right when you walk inside, and I scanned it looking for the specialty coffees, but it appears that they are not posted. I had to scramble to pull up the website on my phone to see what drink I wanted to order. I wish all of the drink options were posted prominently for ease of ordering in person. They have a few vegan/vegetarian options, so it was awesome that they had a unique sandwich option we were able to try. We went to their new location in Highland (can't find it on Yelp) and I loved the atmosphere. We ordered pumpkin drinks and I ended up getting a matcha snickerdoodle last minute as I was famished. The drinks were okay (felt the same about the Griffith location's drinks too). I did end up unfortunately finding multiple blonde or white hairs/fibers in my cookie. I was trying to tug one out to see if I wasn't crazy and was able to hold the cookie by it. They were about 5mm or so and I was going to say something but the baristas were occupied and I felt bad. For some reason, I ended up just scarfing it down like an animal since I was THAT hungry... oops. My stomach hurt afterward (which is my bad on that part) as I could have avoided that from just not eating the dang cookie and saying something. Might be in my best interest to not come back and if I do, to not come super hungry and scared of speaking up lol! read more

We have been coming to Grindhouse since 2017 and it's still my favorite go-to coffee shop when I'm in town! Their scones are the best. My all-time favorite is the almond poppyseed which is not available all of the time, but their regular scones (cranberry oat, maple pecan, and chocolate chip) are all delicious! Their sandwiches are great. The coffee and espresso drinks are a little strong, but smooth. They have plenty of drink options and the seasonal drinks are so good! Decided to try the Griffith location because my friend raved over it. I ordered a caramel frappe and a caramel iced coffee and they were delicious. The caramel is a cream based and so we felt no extra cream was needed. The iced coffee is delicious on it's own and a little on the strong side so I recommend cream to those who don't want it as strong. I would compare the taste of the frappe to the cappuccino blast from dunkin. read more

I've been here for coffee several times and have always been happy with the service and the quality of the drinks. Today I ordered lunch and coffee for pick up through their website. The ordering was easy and pick up was smooth and on time. Unfortunately neither my husband or I enjoyed our sandwiches. They were both pretty bland. We tend to like stronger flavors and my chicken salad sandwich and his chicken sandwich fell flat. They were a good portion though and basically as advertised so still 4/5 stars for me. Stopped by on a Sunday morning to get something to drinks and a sandwich. The place was pretty crowded or at least there was five people in front of us waiting to order. They have a nice selection of caffeinated beverages and sandwiches. Breakfast stops at 10:30 which stunk since we arrived at 11am. I got the frozen pear cactus juice drink which was excellent. It was perfect when it was 80 degrees out. We also bought a raspberry green tea which wasn't as good as mine but still good. The sandwiches were excellent. Grindhouse has been a local go to for me in Griffith when visiting family for as long as I can remember! I love the atmosphere of the shop and the variety of drink choices. My absolute FAVORITE is the Prickly Pear Lemonade...it is a party in a cup. So good. So refreshing. 11/10 from me! If I'm craving a bite to eat I'll normally grab a scone if they have some and those are also delicious. They are currently operating as grab and go, so you can't sit inside and enjoy your drink. This was our first time at Grindhouse Cafe as we were just in town for an event. We weren't sure what to expect but saw the great reviews for this place! Parking at approximately 5:00pm was good, we got a spot right in front. They weren't very busy but had several tables with patrons eating and visiting. The service was great and workers were nice. You could tell locals enjoyed this place because several of the workers knew the customers and made conversation with them. A worker came out with a pitcher of almost empty iced tea and topped off a customers drink since it was almost out which was nice to see. The atmosphere of the inside was different yet felt like a unique cafe. Their menu board is when you walk in on the wall which is a chalk board like wall. They have sandwiches mainly with chips that come with. They also are known for their coffees and teas. The mocha latte I got was a little strong for my liking but was still tasty. I get coffee here weekly and it's a good spot. The baristas are very serious about their craft. I once asked one of them how long she steamed the milk when she was making a cafe au lait or cappuccino. She replied, dead earnest, "About 27 seconds.". Grindhouse has a good inclusive, alternative coffeehouse vibe. They're always playing cool music, like deep cuts from independent artists, not the "Coffeehouse" channel on Pandora or some crap like that. Grindhouse Cafe has the perfect combination of everything a coffeehouse should be. There is sufficient parking for multiple cars to comfortably find a spot without hassling. Upon entering the corner building, the most noticeable defining quality is a massive chalk wall. Specials, sandwiches, and drinks galore line the wall in fun writing and colors. Seating is also not an option as there are several tables and chairs for both big and small groups. I ordered the walnut something latte. Although I really disliked it, I am still a beginning coffee taster - it was neat that the staff was incredibly friendly and willing to recommend different drinks according to my tastes.
