Beware of reviews... Had I only looked at recent ones, we would have skipped this place. I asked a person in line at a shopping center for local coffee and this was her suggestion. I enjoyed the coffee shop ambiance upon walking in the door. It's next to a bookstore.. so how convenient. Service seems to have gone way down since I was last here several months ago. A few of the staff are just not friendly and don't listen, we've had our order be wrong the last few visits and they seem visibly annoyed to have to correct it. Sip Coffee House is such a great gem in The Region. I have tried two locations, Highland and Crown Point, and I can confirm that the Highland location just stands out in every way. I have been here multiple times, at different times of day, and Sip in Highland doesn't ever fail me. The Region lacks cool coffee shops. Sip is such a nice spot where you can get some great coffee plus some food. I always order The Pepperoncini sandwich, which has a nice amount of salami and pepperoncini. The side pasta salad is always delicious too! Recently I've started going for the buffalo chicken wrap, which also comes with a pasta side salad, and the wrap is delicious! Their drinks are really good too. They have seasonal themed coffee drinks which is a nice addition to the regular menu. Their atmosphere and wall decor is one of the best things about Sip. Their indie cafe style has colored walls, miscellaneous wall art, and a great music selection that plays in the background. read more

Cute place. Was excited to try. But when I ordered a sandwich with no cheese or tomato (bc of allergies)It came with tomato and they didn't put sliced cheese on the sandwich but still sprinkled the bread with Parmesan... which believe it or not is still cheese. The pasta on the side also came with Parmesan all over it. I would have asked to have it fixed but we got it to go and I'm not driving all the way back. I have recommended this place to many people. It has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately they short change you with drinks. I love trying coffee shops whenever I am in the new place. Found this cute place when I was driving around town. There's lots of cool art on the walls and there's different table and chair sets placed around the shop for you to relax in. Plus there's seating outside. Drink: I had the horchata ice Latte, which is one of the summer specials listed on the chalkboard behind the counter. It came in a very tall glass. It was the perfect mix of horchata and coffee that was sprinkled with cinnamon. Entree: I had the morning glory, which was their breakfast special for the day. It had egg, ham,cream cheese,and cranberry sauce on a French bread. The French bread looked like a baguette, but was fluffy like a brioche. It had parmesean cheese sprinkled on top. I wanted to like this place. It's cute and has some outdoor seating. The coffee drink I got was tasty, and had 2 espresso shots plus I paid for an extra one, but the caffeine never kicked in. Hope it wasn't decaf. The bagel was your basic cheap grocery store bagel with a small smear of cream cheese. Disappointing. Then I tried The Anthony, and the French bread was not fresh - Walmart quality. The avocado was bad and had to throw it out. I ended up having to remove the top of the bread, and eat it as open sandwich as all I could taste was bread. Two stars are generous. The prices are good, but I guess you get what you pay for. The place was pretty busy on the weekend. Mostly street parking. The only thing I was thinking was I should have gone to star bucks. read more

This place is hit and miss Monday thru Friday. Forget the weekend whole experience on Saturday and Sunday HORRIBLE. You might get a decent waitress during the week. However ordering at counter on all four of my visits was nerve raking. If you don't know what you want don't ask counter staff they can be clueless. My mom liked this place on our first visit but they didn't have the pot roast sandwich. So she wanted to try again on Friday August 23. The pot roast sandwich was fantastic the pasta salad was dry. Against my better judgement i returned on Saturday for pot roast sandwich wasn't surprised that they were out. I opted for the triple decker ham and grilled cheese sandwich. This basic sandwich was dried out with three thin slices of deli meat don't know what kind of swiss cheese they use it resembled a spread. The bread made it edible. The pasta salad true to form was tasteless and dry. HORRIBLE CHOICE. I also had the raspberry mint iced tea. That was colored sugar water. It was so terrible I returned it for plain black tea NOT MUCH BETTER. Can't recommend this place to eat if you want good service and a good meal. Had to sample a specialty, I am a Scorpio so naturally I picked virgo latte; I realized for factory made syrups I need to avoid the sugary ones since caffeine and diabetes gives me a headache. Bummer they do not make their own syrups, perhaps someday! The pistachio, almond, and peanut butter made a triple tie for the only other nutty lattes I've had, Vienna in West Lafayette and a fantastic pecan latte at Beans Barley and Brews - Ashlum, IL. There's a sad lack of Java getting to meet tree seeds in most coffee places. Haven't seen many nut flavored lattes anywhere, curious as they sure make a tasty brew, would've gone for a larger size had they offered one! That's another thing, my local Copper Moon Roasters has that figured out. A 32oz latte? Sure! That is the stuff. The inside vibes made for casual and relaxed, a bit Goodwill perhaps but unpresumptuous or annoying as Starbucks. Very easy to see the appeal here, noticed locals doing conversation, some outdoor chairs and tables, and spread out spaces to reduce noise which is often needed for proper sipping and socializing with the espresso. read more

Terrible service and even worse food! This was my "Buffalo chicken wrap"....plain boiled chicken. I am always hesitant to return because of the godawful service (The last time I visited I waited over an HOUR inside after calling 20 minutes ahead to order the most simple sandwich on the menu) I really want to like this place and I have even given them numerous chances because I do enjoy the coffee and love to support small businesses but after this last visit I will no longer be returning.
