The Miss Jones and a Vietnamese Iced Coffee
    Christina C.

The "Miss Jones" is my go-to. I should really try other things but what can I say - I like what I like! I've visited with colleagues who've said their Ox Box and salmon salad were solid. Service is friendly and the food comes pretty quick if they're not slammed with tons of guests. When there are many diners in, the volume can get pretty high and you'll have to raise your voice and listen a little bit harder to have a conversation. There are some drinks on offer with free refills and my go-to is the iced Vietnamese coffee. I drink most of it during my meal and ask for a refill before I leave.

Came here for lunch before a show at the Orpheum. You don't have the pay to just go to in to eat. Ordered a family meal. It's a good deal $59 4 entrees 2 appetizer rolls 4 cookies Added spicy cucumbers. Everything was good. The sauces for the rolls were a little strange. Yellow and green curries have a kick so not for small kids but we enjoyed them. Seating available. Service was fast. All gender restrooms available.

Visited the AAM and saw this spot inside for a quick snack and caffeine fix. Cashiers were very friendly. Nice and clean inside. We ordered two Viet iced coffees, one with boba, a fresh shrimp roll, and The Workout Box with grilled chicken. The roll was self serve and everything else was delivered very quickly to our table. Shrimp roll was fresh but the peanut sauce wasn't my fave. The Workout Box was really good, with lots of crunchy veggies and brown rice. Workers came out to check on us; great service. This is a good snack or meal spot.

BOBA AT A MUSEUM We ordered three bobas, a bag of chips and apple juice boxes. Boba is made in house. Regular take out drink containers. Three flavors have non dairy creamers : Jasmine, Brown Sugar, and Thai Tea. FOOD IS ASIAN BOX BRAND Did t try so will not be able to comment. No pastries, just three types of chips and gluten free chocolate chip cookies. FAST SERVICE Brought food to your table EMPTY FEELING AND ECHOES IN ROOM Cute Asian artwork on the wall Refrigerators or vent hood machine is loud. Sounds like as should for a cafeteria CANNED BEER AND SOFT DRINKS available for purchase. I think they have canned wine, too. Overall, it's a normal cafeteria with Asian Box food. No fancy coffee.

It's a nice spot inside of the Asian art museum. You can simply ask the museum staff to head to the restaurant. The pho is not too good though.

Excellent Thai Iced boba tea. This summer, they're running a happy hour special at select Asian Box locations including this museum cafe: All boba drinks are just $1.00 from 3 PM to 5 PM, plus 8 PM to 10 PM! (See attached screenshot of their email.) I'm not sure if this museum cafe is open during that later evening window, but I know they are from 3 PM to 5 PM.) Spacious cafe. Super friendly service. Very clean single-stall bathrooms.

She surprised me with a reservation at Ox + Tiger and I was immediately impressed. The restaurant only seats 8 people, making the whole experience super intimate and personal. When Japanese and Filipino flavors come together, you get such a unique fusion cuisine inspired by chef couple Ej and Hatomi. Dinner was more than just a meal it was a 2 to 2.5 hour storytelling experience about their menu creations, how they met, and the grind behind keeping their dream alive. The menu changes monthly, so even if I told you what we had, you probably wouldn't get the same dishes unless you book now lol. It's a 3-course menu with optional add-ons, and definitely unlike any restaurant I've been to before. As a Filipino, I'll admit I can be picky with Filipino-inspired food because we grow up spoiled by our parents' cooking but this? I was genuinely impressed. Think familiar flavors recreated in their own creative and elevated way. Highly recommend.

Situated in a small, 8 seat counter, dinner is intimate with dishes being prepared right in front of you. The menu features three courses, an appetizer, main, and a dessert - with the option for an additional add-on. Our meal featured a focus on fish, in particular mackerel and monkfish. Each of the dishes were deconstructions of familiar concepts such as Caesar salad and a California roll, but enhanced with new flavors. The mackerel was sublime, perfectly charred exterior with a still raw interior. The monkfish was tender, coated in a ginger, wasabi sauce next to crispy sweet rice and avocado. The dessert was by far the most unique, being a miso dashi, mushroom cherry coated coconut ice cream with a tupig-like mochi on the side. The savory, sweet, sour combination completely catches you off guard but becomes increasingly addictive the more you eat. So bold and absolutely memorable. Ox&Tiger takes familiar concepts, breaks them apart, then fuses them back together with a flair of Filipino and Japanese flavors. This results in dishes that are utterly unique and innovative. Additionally, with menus and playlists designed by family, this truly feels like the epitome of a family-run business and a meal cooked with so much care in front of you. This is absolutely worth a visit and an opportunity to try new flavors you've never experienced before.

Everything about the ordering process and the quality of the food itself was good but not great. There was no wow factor or anything that left me feeling extra motivated to return, but I also wouldn't be opposed if I were nearby and craving onigiri. There's a single kiosk in-store to order at, but you can also place an order with the person working the counter if it's not too busy. I wasn't sure what I wanted immediately, so I waited for one of my friends to finish before ordering. I added 1 unagi eel, 1 unagi onigiri, and 1 crab onigiri to my basket and checked out. I have absolutely no idea what's the difference between "unagi eel" and "unagi onigiri", and when I went to pick up my order, the staff member told me my order was two unagi and one crab. However, I was charged $4.50 for the unagi eel and $4.30 for the unagi onigiri, so go figure. I could not detect a difference between the two, and the price of each averaged out to $4.40, so it's whatever. I unwrapped one of the unagi onigiris to eat in-store as we waited for a Zoox to arrive. It was actually pretty difficult to extricate the seaweed and rice ball filling in one piece to consume together, which I presume is because the onigiris are each made-to-order and due to the freshness, the separate ingredients haven't had a chance to marinate and congeal together. As I had not eaten all day, I quickly devoured the onigiris before and after our short ride back to a café where some of our other friends were waiting. The onigiris were, as I mentioned before, pretty standard minus the fact they kind of fell apart. I would say if you like onigiris, then these will get the job done, but they're nothing exceptional, so keep your standards at baseline.

Even before this most recent visit, I'd enjoyed intimate dinners here for its creative, Korean-Thai-inspired menu that always packed an impressive punch of flavor but, dare I say, the brunch might be even better. The steak sandwich was absolutely phenomenal, with the steak seasoned and cooked to perfection and pairing beautifully with the charred onion aioli, plus a side of expertly crisped smashed potatoes that were so addicting. The steamed mussels were sumptuous and packed with umami, and I loved the two large bricks of toasted sourdough focaccia that were perfect for sopping up every last bit of the delicious dashi broth. But the pièce de résistance was the custard French toast, which I can only describe as the love child of bread pudding and tres leches cake as it was crispy on the outside but uber moist on the inside, custardy, and simply divine. Kothai will be deeply missed in the neighborhood, but I'm excited to see what's next for chef/owner Sung Park and will be first in line for whatever future project comes next.

It seems like this place is an asian fusion brunch place incorporating french dishes into thai/asian themed dishes which is up our alley. We made a reservation at 1:45 PM and we had to wait for about an extra 30 minutes before getting seated. Initially, I wanted to try their crab fried rice but unfortunately they were out of crab. We decided to get the Alcatraz Escape and the Brioche french toast which were recommended by the wait staff. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating but I can tell they were swamped and stressed out with all the people they were trying to serve. The food itself tasted decent, the Alcatraz Escape had a tasty flavor which incorporates tom yum paste (sweet, sour, tangy flavor) into their scramble with about 4 shrimps. The side of crispy chicken was good but nothing that stood out to us. The brioche was soft but there wasn't much flavoring besides the fruits and caramelized banana. It was served with evaporated milk which made the brioche soft but not adding much flavor to it. The price however was quite pricey. For two dishes as a side we paid around $78 with tax and tip.
