The Bulgogi was a little hard and chewy. It was dry. The eggs was overcooked. The toast was nicely buttered, just enough and it went well with the Jams. The hash browns are perfect crispy and not oily. The servers here know their craft very well the cook was very systematic and he keeps the griddle very clean. He cooks the hash browns like a master. The lady who does the plating is so nice and precise., the server is very efficient able to handle the job of serving inside and outside tables. The place is small but the addition of tables outside tables is very nice. I am imagining my self coming back on a sunny and calm weather.,
I ordered the Spicy Art's Cafe Pork Belly Sandwich, it was a tasty sandwich with good quality pork belly, but a bit too many onions for me. The friends I went with all enjoyed their burger orders. The service was excellent, they go above and beyond for their guests. The interior has a great diner feel, but if it's full, their will be a wait time. There's a small clipboard outside to add the name and number of guests. My friends and I decided to sit in their parklet and didn't have to wait to sit inside.
Food is EXCELLENT. Staff is very friendly, welcoming, and appreciative. Ambiance is what you would expect of a tight (stool seating along countertop) and often crowded diner. It can be very busy at times as it is (1) very popular with regulars, and (2) no longer a secret 'hidden gem'. The outdoor sidewalk (parklet) seating helps accommodate customers on their busy days. I've eaten here countless times, and I always leave VERY satisfied.
Came on a Saturday morning and was seated pretty quickly outside. I got the hot link hash brown sandwich and it was great. It came with eggs and your choice of toast and everything went well together. The restaurant itself is pretty small inside but it makes up for it with the outdoor seating!
This is a convenient spot if you're near Golden Gate Park. They have a single bar of seating inside and the tables outside. As a table of four, we were grateful that the manager was willing to ask a party of two sitting at a four-top to relocate so that we could have a table sooner. The manager also stopped by to entertain us a little after a lengthy wait for our food. I had the beef Bulgogi plate which comes with rice and side salad. The food was delicious. Other menu items we ordered were pancakes, a hamburger, and the tuna melt. Everyone was happy with their food. The service was kind and professional, though the wait times were significant. $19 felt overpriced to me for the bulgogi plate considering 2/3 of my order were just white rice and a paltry salad. I would still recommend this family owned business. Just be prepared for the wait and the slightly overpriced food (which is hard to avoid in SF now). Oh, and try not to be swallowed by the tiny, cramped bathroom in the back. That was an experience all its own.

People are efficiently busy at work and it's a marvel to watch them in between eating and talking. Tiny place, so go early, because it can get full fast.
Cute mom and pop shop! It's got a simple American brunch vibes. When we arrived around 9am, there was a waitlist posted outside. I don't think there was an online waitlist, so you'd have to arrive to put your name down. You could sign up to either wait for an inside or outside table (they listed expected wait times), but inside tables weren't available if you had a group of 5 or more. We sat outside since we had a group of 5. The wait for us was about 10-15 minutes. The outside seating is made of folding tables and chairs, which give a casual, easy ambiance. Service was nice! They came quickly to get our orders and give us water. I ordered the "Two Pancakes, Two Eggs, & Sausage" ($17.75). It was yummy, though personally I thought the scrambled eggs were a little overcooked. Pretty standard pancakes, perhaps a little dry, and sausage. Toppings for the pancakes came in little plastic containers. I also got a hot tea ($3.75), which was just hot water and a Bigelow tea packet. Personally, with what I ordered specifically, I think the price for what you get is lack luster. However, I didn't order any of the Korean fusion options or hash brown melts, so I would come back to try those next time!

The breakfast place still has Korean - American breakfast fusion options in addition to Korean and American favorites. I like my hashbrowns crispy and they did a good job here without making them overly oily. We ended up eating the hashbrown sandwiches with knives and forks but the concept is still cute. The eggs were expertly made, and the toast and English muffins were standard. They open early for breakfast which is nice because most of the restaurants nearby don't open until lunch or later. It's a convenient spot that is somewhat near Golden Gate Park's botanical garden, art museum, etc. They have parklet seating in addition to the inside diner bar. I wanna sit inside one day because it looks adorably nostalgic inside the restaurant.
I feel like it's not the same as it used to be. Service is quite slow and portions are smaller than a couple years ago. I normally get their bibimbap, which is good, but I feel like I get a bigger portion for the same price at other places! Art's is great for that nostalgic diner feel, but it's pretty mediocre now.
Shockingly my first time and not my last time! Perfection with the crispy hashbrown. The bugolgi beef was not too sweet, so yummy and a lot stuffed in the hashbrown. I got a side of pancakes and that was ok for me. It was a little tough but my friend likes it. I want to go back to try more. I had my friends French toast that was good
Small diner in the sunset, usually a wait! I got the eggs with bulgogi which was delicious and hit the spot. It is kind of pricey but I love the Asian influence and the vibe. You can see them preparing the food at the counter.

Well, it's been over 18 years since my first and last review of Art's Cafe. I'm sure I've changed more than this longstanding diner has. No, I haven't had cosmetic surgery, but thank you for asking. I've just been trying to eat with a little more discrimination in both my palate and my diet, but sometimes I like to indulge myself with a few extra calories my body is more than willing to accept begrudgingly. Quite reassuring to see the set-up never changes here. It's still the same 14-stool counter in the same hallway-size space. I came in on a weekday about a half-hour before closing. There was only one customer at the far end of the counter and now me. After 30 years, the original owners retired during the pandemic, and the current owners had taken the reins without skipping a beat. They're still serving the same combination of classic American diner fare and traditional Korean staples. Previously, my penchant for greasy spoons left me in a state of American isolationism. For example, a while ago, I had the $16.55 Tuna Melt on toasted sourdough with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and cheese. It truly hit the spot with a pile of krinkle fries thrown in for good measure (Photo 9). This time for the first time, I went fusion and finally ordered their signature $17.75 Hash Brown Sandwich with Dakgogi (Chicken).and Shredded Cheddar Cheese. It was a satisfying exercise in gluttony, for sure, with two eggs sunnyside-up and sourdough toast (Photo 10). I thought I wouldn't finish it. I thought wrong. Besides, it was a treat watching Young (the wife) cook it in front of me on the sizzling grill. A hole in the wall is the literal description of this place. Cozy small spot really makes you reminisce of the old days. Food was fresh as they cook it right in front of you. Really is amazing to see how your food is being prepared. It makes you respect those in the service industry more. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Though to sit inside is most definitely a first come first serve type of environment. Very nice people working here would definitely come back if I am around the area. read more
This weekend was my first time ever in San Francisco. Me and my husband were looking for a nice place to eat with great food, we came across this mama and Papa shop.. we got to interact with the owners and the owner son, which is something you don't see every day. Their service is 10 out of 10. Joe (the owner's son) was nice enough to kind of let down a to-do list in San Francisco. Something he did not have to do but was kind enough to share places he recommend the food was 10 out of 10. I got the steak and mushroom breakfast fireee my husband ended up getting the simple pancake and egg breakfast with the side of sausage biscuit uyyy yum ! We loved our time at this restaurant! Our son got there ahead of time and put our name on the list. There is a counter insider with stools to sit on and tables outside undercover. We sat outside which was great. Our server brought coffee and water promptly and also took our order. There were so many things to choose from and I honestly don't think you could go wrong. The hash browns were great as were the hash brown sandwiches the omelette was a hit with my mom. I think it was $110.00 for the four of us with a tip. Also the wait staff is wonderful!! read more

I really enjoyed my quick breakfast fix in this small by just place. The waiter was amazing and I met so many nice people while eating on the outside patio with my 3 year old. The food was decent. Hits the spot if you're in a hurry and want breakfast. I wasn't a fan of the hash browns eventhough they are freshly grated. They were just too mushy for me and there wasn't much seasoning so I added salt. The only taste I didn't enjoy is the taste of oil on the hash browns. They NY steak was skinny and wasn't seasoned either but with salt and pepper we made it work and it e enjoyed the food enough to eat all of it but the hash browns. Good coffee as well. I'd visit again if I'm nearby again. read more

So.. I was looking up places for breakfast, I wanted a local restaurant, san francisco experience, and We got it. This place was suggested when I was looking up places in the area. Our wait was just a few mins, my husband wanted to eat outside but I said nooo we have to get the experience! And he was happy with that suggestion after. It's very small countertop dining inside. You get to watch your food being cooked and then they turn around and hand it to you. My husband got the hash brown sandwich and was very happy with it. My son got pancakes and I got a club sandwich. Everything was great! Owner was very friendly and said he was walking behind us and knew we were going to go to his restaurant. His dad is the chef and mom was as well. Possibly it was sister making the eggs? As we were walking around so many different options for breakfast, my husband said no stick to your plan! Glad we did! We'll be back again! read more

So freaking good. I'm from the east coast and I love a good diner! This reminds me of high school nights. The tuna melt is everything! I had the hashbrowns with cheese & onions, so delicious. The feel is very homey & diner like. The waitress was quite nice and attentive without being overbearing. read more
Classic, cozy, family-run diner located in the sunset with Korean twists and American staples. They have super limited indoor seating an outdoor park-let with some outdoor seating. Expect lines on the weekends but it's all really worth it! The staff are all extremely friendly, hardworking and attentive. The food is very home-y and filling with large portion sizes that'll make you want to take a nap right after. Definitely worth checking out and perfect for a lazy Sunday after a night out. read more

This is a no frills, all American diner with a Korean twist. I loved this diner when I first visited years ago, and recently came back after they changed ownership. I was happy to see that the food was still just as good as my previous visit. My favorite is their hash brown sandwich! It's not something you find in most restaurants, and is perfectly crispy. I was craving a traditional American breakfast this day, so I opted for the hot link hash brown sandwich, which satisfied my craving. I need to come back and try their Korean items. This isn't the place for a fancy brunch. It's a good, solid, traditional diner. It's also a small family owned business. The family was SO lovely, kind, and provided wonderful customer service. I'd like to give 3.5 stars for Arts Cafe. We were doing a day trip to SF with friends and heard a lot of hype about Arts Cafe. It's a very small shop with a small street seating area as well. With the hype, the wait time on a Saturday morning was long. Once we received our food, we were a little underwhelmed compared to expectations. The French toast was very mid. The flavor of the bulgogi was great but some bites were a bit tough. The egg wasn't quite as runny as we'd like, but still good. Everything taken into account, it's a good spot if you're in the area and looking for variation on a typical breakfast. But it did not live up to the hype we had heard before coming. read more

Veggie omelet / hot links omelet - 4/5, can't go wrong with an omelet! Hash browns were great as usual. Spicy pork bibimbap - 3/5, good amount of food and lots of veggies! Unfortunately the sauce seemed to be lacking something flavor-wise, but not bad. read more

They appear to be closed. I tried calling this morning (June 14) and got the message "the person you dialed can't take your call now".
Great review on the food but how's the coffee.? No breakfast is good if the coffee isn't.
The coffee is old school and ordinary. Don't go there for the coffee.
