The breading on the meat is well-seasoned and so delicious! Definitely come here if you are looking for a hearty, comforting meal. Service is great, too, and they have a back patio if you want to bring your pet. They even placed a little bowl of water for our dog. So sweet!

First time at Brenda's Meat & Three on a Saturday evening. Reservations are easy to make on their website. No phone reservations taken. Nice to have a reminder text a hour before reservation. Everyone enjoyed the food of fried chicken, fried catfish and stuffed pork chop. There's something for everyone here from meats/fish and plenty of sides. Street parking only.

First time trying this location. Party of 3 around 1:30p on a Thursday. We were greeted and seated immediately. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. This location has a bar in the center with plenty of seating all around it. There is also an outside patio in the back. I of course ordered the watermelon iced tea, It is so refreshing and just so delicious. I highly recommend it If you like watermelon and iced tea. And y'all already know if you're here you have to get the fried chicken. I ordered the meat and three, fried chicken with collard greens mac and cheese and coleslaw. That fried chicken with crystals hot sauce is absolutely delicious! The greens were perfect not too salty, The mac and cheese was creamy and great flavor, The coleslaw had somewhat of a vinegary mayo texture and was really good. Overall, This is one of my fave spots, I've been to the original location as well. I love the chicken and the service!

Awesome eggs Benedict over fried chicken - biscuits uses instead of English muffin - hollandaise sauce New Orleans style - a bit spicy! Always friendly staff.

My family came here yesterday after an event we had. We had wanted to dine at another spot but their line was long so we decided to come here instead. We were seated right away in the outdoor patio but was told there would be another party(big) coming soon that we'd have to eat quickly. As was the last time we came here. The place is well kept, very clean. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating as always. Food was fresh you can taste it, but I can't seem to thing that it needs some type of a wow to it. Like it tasted good, but could use something to pick it up and make it superb I'd say. Not bad though... My sister and I had the oyster po'boy half n half with coleslaw and fries, my daughter had a chicken sandwich with fries which she liked but felt it was missing something to make it spectacular. We all agreed the fries were fresh and crispy. My husband had eggs benedict over fried chicken. The potatoes were cooked to perfection. We ordered a french toast plate and felt maybe some fruits on it would have been nice. Yes I would come again if I'm in the area. It is sure a great place to try out at least once if you haven't been by.

With it being Daylight Savings Time Sunday, I scheduled my Kaiser lab tests on this morning which means my next stop is routinely here for brunch. Likely due to the time change, there were only two three people dining on the counter and one or two occupied tables when I sat down. As usual, I studied the specials board (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=4FItuiShYesREZKjCHHPYw) before looking at the regular menu. Two items caught my eye so I asked the waiter for his recommendation of those two. Trusting his judgment, I ordered what he said. I started with the Creole Bloody Mary (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=54_DfVHzt6Oko0oUeZn5Pg) which always hits the spot for me. From the spiciness of the red pepper that lines the rim of my glass (be sure to sip it to enjoy that along with the liquid portion) to the pickled okra, I can't help but have this. For my meal, I had the chicken etoufee (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=7G_kWtiioJtY4WEiIHqNtw), steamed white rice and green beans; besides this, there was a warm toast on the plate so it was more than enough food. In fact, I took about half of the green beans and the toast home to snack on later that afternoon. Having a sweet tooth craving, I ordered the 3 way beignets (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=D9KhX6dU6Imzo1LEgcvePQ) to bring home. I started on it with the granny smith apple beignet (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=di-p8okyop40lh9eKHEWTw) later that afternoon; the filling (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=mPa92JOvhwIxFVLDZsL22A). regular beignet (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=hqb5lRXrDFQLgsp6ZBdxaQ) is generous and I enjoyed it without reheating it since it was the same day. The next morning, I had the plain beignet (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=72&select=hqb5lRXrDFQLgsp6ZBdxaQ) for breakfast after reheating it; because I waited a few days, the shell was a little hard but still tasty and not oily. It was a little drier but still tasted fine. Yet another couple days later, I reheated the chocolate beignet (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=qpua9-pyBG8w0YCrqnNYKw) which was also on the drier side but helped by the generous chocolate filling that you see oozing out. Besides those, I brought a Creole-fried chicken cutlet (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=4sscW3wadShf2DZEA4odtg) figuring that it'd be great pairing with a bowl of instant noodles. The seasoning of it was perfect and that made for another delicious meal at home. The staff working the counter checked on me regularly as I enjoyed my meal. Thanks to Daytime C. (name on my bill) for the etouffe recommendation. I would order that again. Thanks also the other staff who brought my takeout food. Till my next Kaiser appointment...

When you are at the meat and three, you gotta order meat and three. Nothing was bad but some stuff was better than others. Best: The biscuit. I'm not sure I've ever had a more perfect biscuit. Soft, buttery, crispy, flaky and enormous. This biscuit had everything. Would Order Again Fried chicken (+$2 for breasts only). Semi-boneless. Very crispy. Ribs. Nice and smoky. A rather small portion, only two ribs. Mac & Cheese, Spinach, Green Beans, all delicious Wouldn't Order Again: Gumbo. mostly soup and rice and not a lot of sausage. Cornbread. I love cornbread. Somehow this one was dry and flavorless. Cheese grits. I also love grits and these were just kind of watery and also flavorless. It's nice that you get to try three sides with every meal, and I'm definitely excited to try more stuff.

Holy crap... this place is unreal! I went with some friends for a bday celebration on a Saturday around lunchtime (we had a resy). I ordered the succotash omelet (good, nothing to write home about) with cheesy grits (very yum) and a biscuit on the side (also very yum). We shared the beignet flight, which was absolutely the star of the show! Be aware that they're giant - my photo has a coin for size reference lol! The only negative was that we felt rushed by the staff to leave... Other than that, cannot wait to go back!

Public parking, I believe We got a go to order Ordering online was easy quick, no problem No problem picking it up as well, pick up time was as expected Tried the grandma's black walnut ice coffee, liked it and would recommend I did not try the blacken salmon but it was of good portion, but I do recommend the spicy fried chicken sandwich, very flavorful Gumbo is comforting, strong pungent flavors and dipped it with bread, so good Will need to go again for a sit down and try more next time

Stopped in today with the family of 5 after visiting the Museum , no reservation although staff was able to seat us on patio . We had Fried Chicken and "Catfish" and sides . The fried chicken was pretty good although the "Catfish" was not Catfish it may have been some variation of fish but definitely not catfish unfortunately that was a huge disappointment for me , another miss was the Mac n cheese not much flavor with the kind of cheese used . The greens , peach cobbler , and cornbread were pretty good . The staff were nice.

Great vibes. Delicious food. Solid service. Clean establishment. Usually not too busy (unlike their TL location) but just as good. Always a nice time out at Brenda's.

Nice spot to try a variety of southern dishes. It's great if you're craving comfort food but nothing blew me away. The catfish was good (it was my first time trying it) but I thought the mac and coleslaw were just fine. The grits were sweet which I found odd. French toast was pretty good but i've had a lot better at other brunch spots (I appreciate that it was not too sweet though). Pretty efficient service-- not too long of a wait for anything. Seating is pretty limited as it's a small space but there was no wait on a Sunday at noon.

2.5-3 stars. We've not been back to this particular Brenda's in a while and today's breakfast affirmed why. Service is excellent and staff are nice enough which is the best part of the experience. Hubby ordered the 2 eggs with biscuit gravy and added a fried chicken cutlet. The fried chicken is delicious and I would return just for the fried chicken. The biscuit was hard, crunchy which tells me it's day old or more. I make biscuits at home all the time and they should not be hard. Hubby says the gravy was good. I tried the gumbo again. Spicy with plenty of rice, sausage, okra and 2 shrimps. It was good. The Flight of 4 beignets were disappointing. The dough was hard on the exterior and inside cake or bread-like. Not soft and fluffy like the beignets we've tried in NOLA. The filling of the apple was OK with tiny cubed apple pieces, the chocolate one was with Ghirardelli chocolate, the plain was like a thicker, heavier donut. I think I liked the filling of the savory one the best, reminded me of a thicker gumbo filling. Overall, I would skip the beignets next time and just get the fried chicken.

We came in at 6:45-7; we ordered cajun fries, a seafood combo, garlic noodles, & some steamed rice. Canjun fries to start, was the only thing that tasted good. Garlic noodles were bland and consistency was too soft; I expected from the reviews stating "stand-out" garlic noodles it would taste exceptional, but instead they're noodles with a whisper of garlic. The seafood boil was probably the worst. They definitely gave us the scraped leftovers of the pot, poured in boiling water, and called it a day. ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR. We kept trying to dig into the bag and giving it an absurd amount of chances to eventually discover better flavor using all my faith, only to be left so dissatisfied. It was supposed to be a mix of Canjun and Garlic Butter flavor, but the better description compares to orange water with chopped vegetable bits. No richness, no gloves given, flavor and viscosity similar to water, and the seafood definitely wasn't fresh either as it caused our stomachs to feel pretty sick after. I felt so shocked I experienced a seafood boil that could hold no flavor especially when you consider all the seasonings and preparation that goes into it. I left feeling sad having to pay for an inadequate dinner.

My husband and I's favorite place to eat in the world is New Orleans so this place definitely did not disappoint. We started with coffee drinks, I had some sort of boozy espresso drink which I could have done without since the bitters tasted like licorice which is probably a taste preference. My husband had the grandma coffee which was also fine. Then the food came out and it went up from here! The catfish & grits just might be the best I've ever had. My husband also really enjoyed his banana foster French toast, & i loved that they allowed you to get one piece of fried chicken because i had to try it out despite a full meal. The wing I had was Nice & crunchy with a delicious sweet sauce on the side that reminded me of mambo sauce ( a DC staple.) My husband also had the gumbo which was good but I wouldn't say our favorite. I prefer my gumbo with a little more spice but that could just be personal preference. We ended the meal with beignets: I had the ube beignet which was so unique & flavorful! I don't think I would have had a chance to try that type of beignet anywhere else so glad to try something different, it was delicious. The crawfish beignet was also so flavorful! The beignets in general were much more bready than typical beignets but still very good & unique to this place. On top of that, the service was great & the food came out quick, hot & fresh! I wish we had more time (& stomach space) to try other items on the menu, everywhere we looked everything looked delicious so we'll just have to try more the next time we're back in SF!

The fried bread was bland, the meat had little to no flavor, and there was far too much lettuce. The beef and broccoli was dry and also lacked flavor. The fried rice was the worst dish we tried, even after asking for soy sauce (and only receiving three packets), it didn't improve. There were a few highlights: the dumplings were good, and the egg rolls were just okay, though they had an odd flavor I couldn't quite identify. It was some kind of spice or herb. The General Tso's chicken and garlic orange chicken were both solid, and the chow mein was decent. Ordering was frustrating. Several items we wanted--the pineapple beef, shaking beef, and Kung Pao chicken--were all unavailable. We also tried to order a pineapple soju, but they didn't have it, so we settled for peach instead. The decor was nice, but the dining experience felt lacking. Food was served in to-go containers with paper plates, cups, and plastic cutlery, which took away from the experience. There was also a language barrier with our waiter, which made communication difficult--especially when asking questions about the menu or trying to place our order since the QR code system wasn't working. OVERALL, not an experience we would repeat.

She had heard about this place from a client that she had worked with a couple weeks ago. The place had a really cool vibe to it; it's like you're stepping into a more intimate, Cracker Barrel. We were seated by the front of house pretty quickly. The space could hold quite a few people, there is a bar area and outside seating. We sat in the back by the kitchen. When we got there, we ordered a couple drinks and a lot of food. I had the okey-dokey artichokey and my partner had the respect your elders drink; both were strong and tasty. It went well with our appetizers of fried okra and fried calamari. I really enjoyed the jalapeño aïoli that came with the okra so much that I started dipping the calamari in it. The calamari coating on the outside was a lot heavier than what I was used to, but it was still really tasty. For our main entrées, I got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens and my partner got the porch burger with fries. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly. It wasn't dry. It was juicy and I really liked putting their homemade hot sauce on the chicken and greens. The habanero hot sauce was really spicy, but I liked how sweet it was. My partner's burger was cooked perfectly and it was a big portion. I definitely recommend this place to someone who is bold enough to go on a date and still eat with their hands. Somehow, this was elevated southern food, which could be shown by the prices, but I think it's worth it once in a while.

Restaurant is really nice, family atmosphere and you can see everyone enjoying their food. We ordered the Crab set dinner menu for 6 people. There were 5 of us so this set menu was perfect. The server was nice and laid back, easy to talk with and was efficient. He brought first the drinks, beef papaya salad and imperial roll. The salad was crispy with aromatic flavor and beef was tender. The imperial roll was crunchy in the outside and tasty in the inside with the pork, noodle and veggies. Next came the rest of the meal set: roasted crab, peppercorn crab, shaking beef, sea bass, string beans and garlic noodle. It was great that they brought the food all at once. The roasted crab in lemon garlic butter was outstanding. It was full of flavors and went well with all the other dishes. The peppercorn crab was full of umami flavors! It was battered, crunchy and the spices like the garlic and peppercorns were just delicious. It was cooked like a calamari style which was amazing!! Both crabs were big and meaty!!! The Sea bass was soft with just the right touch of seafood soy sauce and sesame oil. The beef was tender, bite size and savory. The string beans were cooked perfectly and still had a crunch into it. Garlic noodles were delicious! This is a must have with the meal, better than rice. It was enough to soak in all the different sauces and spices that it almost seemed like it cleansed our palette so we can keep eating. We all had a great time eating our food. It was fun and the first time that we had a family gathering this way where our hands were full of crab meat and sauce. It was very messy, but in a good way!! The fried banana with Mitchell's signature ice cream mango and macapuno was freaking delish!!! The battered on the banana was light and airy, so crunchy that it melt in your mouth. Add the ice cream and you can't stop thinking why this dessert is so delicious!! It was truly a great way to end a wonderful dinner with family. Love this place! Will come back over and over again!

When Dungeness Crabs are in season, you gotta come here to eat it. They do fun Vietnamese flavors…read moreon the crab. They have family meals or order à la carte. We came with 4 adults and 2 toddlers. They took a while to come around to take our order, and a while to get our food. And even our initial beer pitcher that we ordered. They weren't busy so I don't know... they were nice though, just slow. We ordered 2 crabs, steamed sea bass, five spice chicken, shrimp papaya salad, garlic noodles and green beans. We did it this way and not the family meal because it turned out a better deal. And the family meal for 4 only gave you 1 crab. We got peppercorn crab and garlic steamed crab. Both were good, but the garlic one became too rich because of the butter. I preferred the peppercorn crab. It was dry, garlicky and peppery. Big crabs with lots of meat. I love the Vietnamese style crabs, felt nostalgic.
