Talk about a GLOW UP! Now this is an upgrade that you'll never want to leave. Look ma, we made it type of feel good spot. The amazing ambiance now matches their incredible food. Come early and ready for a crowd on the weekends, but they let you order a coffee while you wait. Love this spot and wishing them the best of luck!

This place gets packed but the service is fast. At same time it doesn't feel like they are rushing you either. The fried chicken Benedict is hearty but chicken so juicy. I also really like the Fatima's ShakShuka. The lightness balanced in the Benedict. The hummus is one of the bests I've had with the pita bread. It was so fresh. I will come back again.

We came here again and Had a great brunch with my friend and my kids. My kids loved the pancakes, fries and tater tots. It was pretty hot inside but understandable it's a small space. Chicken is very good as usual

I took a friend from the east coast for breakfast here and we both had an amazing experience. Compared to Plow, I actually think food here is better. As a disclaimer, I am a huge fan of fried chicken, so my opinion might be biased based on that factor. I love that they have a digital menu and that you can easily pay for your meal on it. We ordered family style and shared several dishes, including French Toast, Chicken & Waffles, Nasi Goreng, and 3 extra pieces of fried chicken. For the daily caffeine, I opted for a Vietnamese coffee. The verdict? Love. Everything was delicious, and I especially liked their crispy fried chicken. We both loved that the batter wasn't too heavy on the salt, and that the meat was still juicy despite being fried to a satisfying crunch. The French toast and Waffles were also delicious and buttery. Nasi goreng, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. Maybe my expectation was too high, but the fried rice just didn't hit the spot. Their Vietnamese coffee was also pretty mid, since I've had it much better elsewhere. These slight misses won't stop me from picking them over Plow though. I love that they have more of the menu variety that resonates with my tastebuds, and I will definitely be returning there.

Wow! This new location of Cracked and Battered did not disappoint! Fresh greenery, high ceilings and tall bright windows, soak in the sunlight. The ambiance is open, fresh and super friendly. Framed personal touches from the restaurant's humble beginnings make this space super inviting. Easy ordering at the table via QR codes were super convenient. The food came out hot, fresh and beautifully presented. From the perfectly pepper-battered juicy fried chicken to the crispy potatoes, perfectly slightly sweet waffles (which my daughter devoured) to the sweet freshly squeezed orange juice....everything was chef's kiss! This place is a must try!

We got sat right away, received quick and friendly service. Ambiance was cute and the food was delicious!!!!! 10000% recommend this place and will be back when we visit the bay again!

Cracked & Battered is truly a gem in San Francisco! It's refreshing to find a family-owned restaurant that genuinely cares about every aspect of the dining experience and on top of it is halal! The food was absolutely amazing -- I had the waffles and a cardamom latte, and both were fantastic! The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and inviting. You can tell that so much heart and thought goes into what they do. It's not often you find a place that puts just as much emphasis on the quality of the food as it does on making sure guests feel welcomed and appreciated. From beginning to end, everything was wonderful. We had such a great experience and will absolutely be back. Highly recommend supporting this wonderful family-owned business!

Waited about 20minutes for weekend brunch, which was not too bad. The chicken and waffles were fantastic, and we absolutely loved it. The service was quick and no frills.

The food was good. We had Fatima's shakshuka and some eggs with potatoes as well as French toast. The portions are good; not too heavy. The shakshuka broth/sauce was not that good but this dish comes with a warm side of pita bread and some great hummus that was by far, the best I have had. It was a bit spicy which took it over the top and made up for the weak shakshuka. Also had Their blossom latte which was a bit too sweet but otherwise ok. The place was pretty crowded for a Friday. We went during brunch but the ambiance was good. The service was excellent. The staff were very nice and friendly.

We went to the Grand Opening and were completely blown away! The new location is just incredible, from the ambiance, the service, and most importantly the food! C&B's chicken never disappoints and their waffle batter is so delicious and fluffy! Oh I also got their cardamom latte and it was amazing! Also I wish I could package up their tator tot sauce, I would add it on everything!

We went in on Mother's Day around 2 PM and had a 30 min wait as the restaurant cleared out for closing. They have an extensive menu with a lot of chicken breakfast varieties. We started off with the hummus plate and it was just okay - too much hummus for the pita but can't complain. For mains, everything was just okay. I was expecting the Nashville chicken sandwich to be spicier and saucier but it was quite bland. Chicken and waffles had good waffles but chicken was just okay and again not too flavorful. What really did stand out though was the cherry blossom latte - so good!

Came here for brunch with two friends and a dog on a Saturday. Told 20 min, ended up being about 45, so be prepared for a wait. There's a lot of brunch spots in a one block radius but this one and just one other spot tend to monopolize the traffic. Food is halal and really flavorful, their oj is actually fresh squeezed. Their coffee beverages are straight up artisanal henny, 10/10. Got the signature c&b plate and the shakshuka to share, everything was really flavorful and cooked as requested. In terms of ambiance, we sat outside on a slanted and shady sidewalk and it was really cold, I also don't enjoy the QR code ordering at all. I don't like tipping up front when I haven't gotten any service even yet, so that put me off and I definitely tipped less than I would have otherwise if I'd gotten service from an individual.

French Toast
Mansi A.

The food was good!! But i wouldn't necessarily say it's one of my favorite French toast dishes... It's pretty simple and good for the price (in comparison to other places). Wish it had more fruit, only had one strawberry slice per toast slice :(( Hospitality was veryyyy good. Owner kept checking up and even gave us free pita and hummus since our food was taking a little longer to come out! Would come here again but to try the fried chicken egg burrito.

Ask the Community - Cracked & Battered

Is potero hill like a potato hill?

In subtle ways, yes--Potrero Hill can feel like a potato hill. Not because it resembles a potato, but because anytime I'm walking up it, I become the potato: humble, lumpy, and questioning my life choices. In other ways, definitely no--there's…

Do you accept reservations? Can you accommodate a party of 9?

Hello! Unfortunately we don’t take reservations. In terms of parties that big, it would be hard to accommodate, unless it’s early morning on a week day. Hope that helps!

Do you still have gluten-free pancakes?

I do!

Salaam. Any chance you all are considering opening up a branch in the East Bay? Just a suggestion. Thanks!

Maybe they can get a few cranes

Are you open for breakfast on Christmas?

Yes! However please check in day of just in case!

Are you did friend?

No sorry

Do you take reservations?

No, only first come first serve dining.

Are you guys still doing indoor dining? Planning to go this weekend?

Yes

Egg Allergy Questions: Does the fried chicken batter have eggs? Does the waffle batter have eggs? Thanks in advance!

Hello! Yes, eggs are included.

What part of the chicken is it that comes with the waffle? Breast, thigh,?

This is the dumbest reply ever! It's either a breast with the bone removed, a thigh with the bone removed, etc.

How is parking?

Street parking but there is ample available in the neighborhood including 90 degree and parallel.

Are they serving outdoor dine-in on 5/13/21?

Yes!

Good Afternoon, is your menu full halal? Also are you open for indoor dining?

Salam! Yes to both!

Are you open for outdoor dining at the moment? Also, are there bottomless mimosas?

Hello! Yes we’re open for outdoor seating. We do not serve alcohol, but you’re welcome to bring your own and we can provide orange juice. Thank you!

Is everything halal on the menu?

Yup! Even the beef bacon!

How early should someone come on a Saturday during covid to get outdoor seating?

Good morning! If you are attempting to avoid a wait or a certain amount of people, it is best to come in before 10. Cheers!

Do you have yelp waitlist for outdoor dining during the pandemic?

Hello, Since covid, we have moved to in person waitlist, due to having a significant less wait time. If the demand for dining increases, we will move back to “No Wait”.

Are you opening a marina location?

Yes :)

Is this establishment halal, I went and I seen no pork or alcoholic drinks. Just curious :)?

Correct everything is Halal with the exception of the Turkey sausage.

To the owner: when are you opening the San Mateo location?! We had brunch in SF maybe two weekends ago, and the extremely kind and sweet owner shared that he will be opening up a location near Belmont/San Mateo in a few weeks. Can't wait!

Maybe in 3 years

Also, the record is absolutely stunning--I wish took photos of it! My friends and I shared the platters family style and ordered the tea leaf salad, platha and dip with chicken, ginger chili pork, chicken with fresh mint, and some coconut rice and jasmine rice. We had the tea leaf salad mixed by a staff member table-side, which was nice, and the salad itself was simply delicious. Quite possibly one of my favorite salads I've ever had because of all of the wonderful flavors that pair well with each other. The platha and dip that we ordered with shredded chicken in the dip was addicting! The chicken was beautifully tender and the dip was packed with the flavor! I was blown away by the nice texture of the platha as well! As for the main dishes, the ginger chili pork was cooked perfectly, and the ginger and chilis added a lovely flavor and punch to the dish. My favorite between the main dishes has to go to the chicken with fresh mint. I've never had a dish like this, and it made me speechless. The flavors were bursting out of this dish and the bold mint flavors made it even more tantalizing. Lastly, I only had the coconut rice, but it was perfectly cooked since it was nice and fluffy, and the coconut definitely shone through. I will certainly come back whenever I have the chance to come back to the city!

For the kids, we ordered the sesame chicken and plain garlic noodles, and they genuinely could not stop raving about the food between bites. My 10-year-old officially declared Burma Love her new favorite restaurant, and of course, her 5-year-old brother immediately had to confirm that he agreed. I ordered the tea leaf salad and samosa soup for myself. The samosa soup was absolutely fabulous--rich, flavorful, and so satisfying--and the tea leaf salad was lovely as well. Everything we ordered was delicious, and finding a restaurant that both I AND my kids are this excited about is always a win. We will absolutely be back. Easily a 10/10!

We've tried Halal Wings Plus a few times before throughout the years and it was always a pretty solid choice. The neighborhood is a bit shady, so beware of your surroundings and watch where you're stepping, cuz you don't wanna be stepping on sh** or b@rf! The menu is above the cashier, so you just order and pay up front and get the receipt with your order number. They'll call the number out when it's ready. I think there's roughly 8-10 tables, if you decide to dine in. ***OUR PICKS*** We ordered 20 wings with 2 flavors. LEMON PEPPER CHICKEN WINGS ~ lots of pepper flavor but the lemon did not shine. And the chicken meat inside didn't seem marinated and tasted bland. It probably would be better if they added lemon juice after it was cooked or had given us some lemons to squeeze over the chicken before we dug in. 3.5/5 MANGO HABANERO CHICKEN WINGS ~ the sauce was spicy and tangy sweet, but it doesn't seem like they marinate their wings. It's only the sauce that gives the chicken flavor. 3.5/5 The wings aren't at all crispy. And flavor was ok and could have been better. But what was off-putting was the smell of the wings after we boxed it up and took it home! It had this gamey chicken smell as if it was old chicken. At least none of us got sick, but I'll think twice about revisiting.
