I haven't been a burger guy in quite a while, but I do get excited when I see a new eatery in the Castro, which frankly isn't as commercially dynamic as it once was. It's right across the street from Mollie Stone's on 18th, and I just wanted to give the place a try. I think it's the third location for this North Bay-originated chain, and it looked clean and casual with retro touches in their sit-down space. I didn't give that much forethought to my order since there are only five burgers on the menu. I went with the $10.50 Renegay probably just for the name (Photo 9). It was a jalapeño cheese smashburger with pickled onions and chipotle island sauce. It was a bit gloopy, and the jalapeños had more kick than I expected. However, the quality of the grass-fed beef and the soft brioche bun were big pluses. Of course it was an automatic to order the $5.95 House Fries (Photo 8). It was prepared the way I like 'em, thin-cut and fried in beef tallow until nicely crisp. Coincidentally, I had recently tried the owners' other business, Angela's Organic Ice Cream, and had I known, I would've gotten a milkshake. Instead, I got a $3.95 bottle of Biylan's Diet Cola (Photo 10) since there was no Coke Zero. FOOD - 4 stars...good quality smashburger if that's your thing, need to try the milkshake as well as the bar AMBIANCE - 4 stars...spacious sit-down spot for a quick lunch SERVICE - 4 stars...definitely nice enough TOTAL - 4 stars...welcome addition to the Castro CORRESPONDING REVIEW Angela's Organic Ice Cream: https://yelp.to/qI_snzoIoW RELATED - Exploring the Castro? Nice spot for easy dinner, burgers are ~$10-15. The burgers are quite saucy so be aware! We also got sweet potato fries (very crispy), and the iggy fries. The iggy fries are basically a burger in fry form. Food came out fast! The inside is bigger than it looks, but it can get noisy in the back. They also serve Angela's ice cream in scoop and shake form!

I'm a fan. Burger is saucy and messy and I loved it. Had the Biggy. Friends tried three others, all favorable reviews. Fries were very good and onion rings were outstanding. Go all the way around and up, great chill seating.

I came here when they were just setting up last week. I ordered the Iggy's Rodeo but two patties and onion rings. They cooked it fresh so nothing is pre-prepared. The burger was enormous and messy. I think I would not put onions rings inside the burger because the onion rings got mushy. As far as the onion rings, it was also good but they were not even cooked. Some were soft and others were overdone. The service is awesome. The manager kept asking me how the food is and excused how they're still setting up their equipment.

So excited to welcome Iggy's to the neighborhood! It's an order and pay, then sit, kind of place and you'll get a buzz when your food is ready! As a non-meat eater I was really happy to be able to enjoy a delicious impossible burger. my kiddo had a beef burger and ate far more than she usually does! The onion rings were wonderful and the vanilla milkshake made with Angela's ice cream was also a hit. I can't wait for the boozy milkshakes that are on their way. The staff is super friendly. We met one of the part owners and he was lovely. After so many places have come and gone in this spot. I am really hoping this is the one that sticks. I could see them doing really well here! ++Gender, neutral bathrooms.

Stopped by Iggy's Burger after watching Spain win the World Cup and treating myself to a mani/pedi at Nail Me. I was still pretty full, but I wanted to check out the newest spot in the old Firewood space. Lots of memories there, so it was nice seeing the space come back to life. The restaurant has a great vibe with a clean, modern interior, and the prices are very reasonable. I grabbed a Renegade burger with an IPA and enjoyed the view of Sutro Tower by the window while eating. The burger hit the spot, and I especially liked the jalapeños. One of the highlights was the complimentary sauces, it was perfect for dipping my burger. It's always exciting to see a new neighborhood spot open, and Iggy's is off to a solid start. I'll definitely be back when I'm a little hungrier to try more of the menu.

Very good neighborhood spot, renegay burger is very good and very fast service. Inside lighting very bright but can imagine with a full crowd would feel much more cozy

Third time is a charm... brought two friends to experience the new burger spot in the Castro. I got the chocolate shake and a happy onion rings ah again. Love them and I wanted the garlic fries besides the little hiccup ARTURO totally took care of us. I'm almost half way through the menu and looking forward to coming back. I know it's just a little thing but I wish they had wings then they could keep me away. The restaurant is beautiful, clean and organized. I'll be back again and again. Thanks

Incredible burgers omg!!! The onion rings are perfect. And the place is really clean and cute. Has a big back room with a skylight too. This is dangerously close to my house. I'll be here a lot. (They have gluten free buns too.) staff are really sweet too, very attentive.

WOW!! Checked out this new burger place in the Castro and it did not disappoint. Staff were extremely friendly and checked in often. Restrooms are available and very clean. Definitely worth the visit!

You can have your card so you can come more follow I love it

This place was included on a list of Sunday brunch recommendations. I had seen other fellow Elite Yelpers recommending it, so I wanted to try it. We had the French toast sticks, very good, as well as the classic breakfast dish, my partner had the breakfast burrito. Both dishes were decent, but we were there for the company mostly. The restaurant was quaint and cute, more compact, but had a secondary overflow area in a separate part of the restaurant. There were restrooms on both side, and Causewells served as a chill morning for us with our friends. The location had a cute bar set up for evening link ups, and the service was very friendly. The vibe is more of what you go for the food is decent but won't necessarily blow you away. Try them out and see for yourself. For tourists, or visitors of the city, the location is in the Marina District, so Golden Gate Bridge is near if you'd like to sightsee. This location is also very close to the Presidio theater.

From the very first bite, I knew I had found the IT bagel spot in the city. I ordered one pumpernickel and one poppyseed. The staff member helping me was super efficient and scooped up my bagels in a flash. She asked me if I wanted any cream cheese. I dubiously asked if they had any vegan cream cheese fully expecting the answer to be no, as I didn't see it listed on the menu, but she confirmed instantly that they do offer vegan scallion cream cheese and added a compostable tub of it to my order. She also directed me to the canister of compostable knives available for takeout. I was in and out quicker than I expected. While waiting for the bus, I used the plastic knife I picked up to slice one of the bagels and slather on some of the vegan scallion cream cheese. I was impressed by how glossy the bagels appeared on the outside but how soft they are in the inside. The vegan scallion cream cheese really elevated the bagel to the next level. Idk what they put in it, but it's crack. It doesn't taste anything like the original Kite Hill spread I've gotten elsewhere. Suffice it to say, I think The Laundromat has ruined me for bagels and good cream cheese elsewhere.

I'll admit, I was a little skeptical because it only came with two tacos, and I was starving. I almost ordered a second serving, but I'm so glad I didn't... or maybe I should have because they were that good. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and you could actually taste the hot honey without it overpowering everything else. It paired so well with the corn, slaw, and sauce, creating the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and fresh. And that squeeze of lemon on top? It brought everything together. Easily one of the best specials I've had in a while. One thing I also appreciated was how extensive the menu is. Since I almost always order a burger, I hadn't realized how many options they offer. My friend and I came with our kids, and everyone found something they were excited to eat, which made ordering easy. We grabbed one of the outdoor tables since we stopped by after the lunch rush on a weekday. The seating itself was nice, but be prepared to share the space with some very bold birds. One especially large bird was absolutely determined to steal our food. Obviously that's not the restaurant's fault, but it's worth mentioning if you're hoping for a quiet, uninterrupted meal outside. I can also see this place getting pretty hectic during peak hours, so if your schedule is flexible, I'd recommend stopping by outside the lunch rush. Overall, though, this spot continues to be one of my go-to places, and I'll definitely be back.
