I've been at this space for Italian food, rotisserie chicken, and one of the sloppiest pizzas I've ever had. It's so large that I imagine it's hard to pay the rent. I hope Iggy's makes it work because they sling a good burger! The gentlemen taking orders up front were friendly and they have those buzzers thingies so you can go sit wayyy in the back if want. It's bright and new-looking as ever with lots of cute pup imagery. I had The Iggy cheeseburger to test out the classics. It's a straightforward smashburger with just a bit of char on the edges. It's simple and a good price especially for the neighborhood. We also ordered The Biggy which is a double cheeseburger. Somehow that wasn't quite as charred and beefy as mine, though it was nice, too. They have sweet potato fries which is a nice touch! They were great. We didn't request sauces, but you can for free! We did try their barbecue, ketchup, mustard, and hickory maple from the sauce stations. Those were all pretty good. The hickory maple is a white (mayo based?) sauce that's a bit like liquid smoke and syrup, but not in a bad way. :D It's worth a visit and the prices are competitive. read more

Was strolling In the Castro when I stopped by Iggy's. I generally don't eat beef, so I don't always jump to a burger joint, but Iggy's offers a swap for impossible patties AT NO COST - that's huge! This pushed me to try it out and was pleasantly surprised! The food is made to order, so it might take a few minutes to get your food, but so worth it! The bread is super soft and buttery, the patty made me question if it was beef or not - a great swap. Definitely try all the sauces, the million island dressing was superb. The sweet potato fries were excellently crisp and salty. Iggy's did a great job with the ambience. We sat in the back, where there's ample seating and it's so bright! It's a good vibe and everyone that worked there was genuinely nice. Absolutely recommend!!! read more

I haven't been a burger guy in quite a while, but I do get excited when I see a new eatery in the Castro, which frankly isn't as commercially dynamic as it once was. It's right across the street from Mollie Stone's on 18th, and I just wanted to give the place a try. I think it's the third location for this North Bay-originated chain, and it looked clean and casual with retro touches in their sit-down space. I didn't give that much forethought to my order since there are only five burgers on the menu. I went with the $10.50 Renegay probably just for the name (Photo 9). It was a jalapeño cheese smashburger with pickled onions and chipotle island sauce. It was a bit gloopy, and the jalapeños had more kick than I expected. However, the quality of the grass-fed beef and the soft brioche bun were big pluses. Of course it was an automatic to order the $5.95 House Fries (Photo 8). It was prepared the way I like 'em, thin-cut and fried in beef tallow until nicely crisp. Coincidentally, I had recently tried the owners' other business, Angela's Organic Ice Cream, and had I known, I would've gotten a milkshake. Instead, I got a $3.95 bottle of Biylan's Diet Cola (Photo 10) since there was no Coke Zero. Nice spot for easy dinner, burgers are ~$10-15. The burgers are quite saucy so be aware! We also got sweet potato fries (very crispy), and the iggy fries. The iggy fries are basically a burger in fry form. Food came out fast! The inside is bigger than it looks, but it can get noisy in the back. So excited to welcome Iggy's to the neighborhood! It's an order and pay, then sit, kind of place and you'll get a buzz when your food is ready! As a non-meat eater I was really happy to be able to enjoy a delicious impossible burger. my kiddo had a beef burger and ate far more than she usually does! The onion rings were wonderful and the vanilla milkshake made with Angela's ice cream was also a hit. I can't wait for the boozy milkshakes that are on their way. The staff is super friendly. I came here when they were just setting up last week. I ordered the Iggy's Rodeo but two patties and onion rings. They cooked it fresh so nothing is pre-prepared. The burger was enormous and messy. I think I would not put onions rings inside the burger because the onion rings got mushy. As far as the onion rings, it was also good but they were not even cooked. Some were soft and others were overdone. The service is awesome. The manager kept asking me how the food is and excused how they're still setting up their equipment. read more

Stopped by Iggy's Burger after watching Spain win the World Cup and treating myself to a mani/pedi at Nail Me. I was still pretty full, but I wanted to check out the newest spot in the old Firewood space. Lots of memories there, so it was nice seeing the space come back to life. The restaurant has a great vibe with a clean, modern interior, and the prices are very reasonable. I grabbed a Renegade burger with an IPA and enjoyed the view of Sutro Tower by the window while eating. The burger hit the spot, and I especially liked the jalapeños. One of the highlights was the complimentary sauces, it was perfect for dipping my burger. It's always exciting to see a new neighborhood spot open, and Iggy's is off to a solid start. I'll definitely be back when I'm a little hungrier to try more of the menu. read more

Iggy's is a new burger spot in the Castro. I stopped by for a lunch on Friday, and was pleasantly surprised at the very clean, chic design. The space is actually very big expanding into the back. We ordered at the counter and got a buzzer indicating when the food would be ready. I got a double burger (the Biggy) with a side of onion rings to share. I really like how a lot of their sauces are self served so we can try a little bit of everything. I usually get a double burger, but I was blown away at how big it was! I should've gotten the single Iggy burger so I could've enjoyed more onion rings. Everything is absolutely delicious. The burger was crispy on the edges and all of the veg on the burger was fresh. The potato bun ?? It was sweet, on the burger was really good. I highly recommend checking them out! The portions are huge and you'll leave full and wanting a comfy nap. read more

Burgers are juicy and tasty but I would still vote for Super Duper. It's nicely located near the Castro bars so that's a plus. Place is huge so feels a bit too large for a burgers place - when not crowded feels a bit overkill space for what the place is trying to be. What I was most impress with was that they don't up charge for an impossible patty substitute for their burgers. The cashier and staff were all cheerful and helpful. We stopped by Iggy's Burger before catching Hedwig and the Angry Inch at The Castro, and luckily, the three of us grabbed seats at the bar just before a line started forming at the counter. I can see why this place is already so popular. The menu is simple and limited, and Iggy's does what it does VERY well. The burgers were delicious, and so were the fries and onion rings, which I believe are fried in beef tallow. Iggy's replaced Flora King, the short-lived Argentinian restaurant from the same owners, and this pivot to smashburgers seems to have been a very smart move. We had red wine with our burgers, which was good, but I do wish Iggy's had the full liquor license that Vico Cavone had before Flora King. That beautiful wooden bar deserves to be put to better use! And come on, this is the Castro. I don't think the neighborhood would complain about another spot serving great cocktails alongside great burgers. Judging by the line that was STILL there when we left, Iggy's is already a smashing success. Pun absolutely intended. I hope Iggy's sticks around for a long time. The Castro can be a finicky neighborhood for restaurants, but this one feels like a winner! read more

Great addition to not just the Castro but also the SF smashburger scene. We tried both The Iggy (a single) and The Biggy (a double) and both were so good in their own ways. The Iggy is a traditional smashburger with crispy, lacy edges and a nice amount of onion, pickle, mustard, and ketchup. The Biggy is really hefty but well balanced by the addition of lettuce and tomato. And the cheese was shockingly melty for non-processed American cheese. Great selection of fried sides and 6 really awesome dipping sauces. Decent small selection of wine (I guess these folks are OG to Sonoma) and beers. Sounds like boozy milkshakes are coming from their sister business, Angela's ice cream. I love how they're investing in the Noe-Castro area with soon to be 2 ice cream shops and 1 burger shop in a walking distance radius. I had been lamenting the loss of Wes Burger for a while now and I'm thrilled this is here and even closer to me. Also, the interior is super cute and spacious, they have a bar set up with a TV for sports, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Will return for sure! read more

Watched them take orders and they gave excellent service and were quick at the order station, despite being friendly and quick they soon had a dozen people in line, and they just kept coming! Great call, because first, the amount of onion rings was more than enough for two, and the burgers were outstanding! Weekly we enjoy getting burgers from a famous chain located in Fisherman's Wharf, known for their fresh meat. The burger I had was so much better that it has made me think I have a new favorite burger. I will definitely be back often. Also, the house made sauces were each incredible and better than the sauces from another burger place with locations in the Castro, Metreon and Market Street. The burgers were overdressed with sauce causing a nasty mess, and the onion rings were dripping with oil.
