I recently stumbled upon a delightful new cafe called Art Lunch at 88 East Colorado Blvd, Pasadena. Having only been open for two months, this place is already making quite an impression. The interior is beautifully designed with green and wood accents that create a calming and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. It's a good place to recharge. I initially went in craving a breakfast burrito, but what really caught my eye was a stunning dessert featured on their menu. I didn't recognize it at first, but its appearance was so enticing that I had to give it a try. After a bit of research, I discovered that this beautiful creation was a "Meringue Roulade." The Meringue Roulade is a dessert that combines elements from different European culinary traditions. Its base is made from meringue, a French creation of whipped egg whites and sugar, giving it a light, airy texture. The concept of a roulade, meaning "rolled" in French, involves rolling a filled dessert or cake. Combining these two elements results in the meringue roulade: a delicate sheet of baked meringue filled with delightful ingredients, then rolled up into a delicious treat. This dessert showcases the airy, light texture of meringue with the versatility of a roulade format, making it a perfect blend of classic European dessert techniques. Back to the Art Lunch experience, this meringue roulade was divine (And, I never use this word). The meringue was perfectly baked, with a crisp exterior that gave way to a soft, marshmallow-like interior. The filling was rich and flavorful, balancing the sweetness of the meringue with a delightful strawberry filling. It was served at just the right temperature, enhancing the flavors and texture. I couldn't help but savor every moment of it. The dessert not only looked beautiful but tasted even better. It was evident that a lot of care and skill went into its preparation. I would give this meringue roulade two enthusiastic thumbs up! It's rare to find a dessert that delights both the eyes and the palate, but Art Lunch has certainly nailed it with this one. Art Lunch is a fantastic addition to Old Town Pasadena. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast burrito or an exquisite dessert like the Meringue Roulade, this cafe has something to offer. The ambiance is lovely, the food is top-notch, and the service is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend giving Art Lunch a visit and experiencing their delicious offerings for yourself. We stopped by Art Lunch in Pasadena for lunch after my wife's chiropractor visit. We ordered the Club Sandwich with Orange Juice, and everything hit the spot. The club sandwich was fresh and delicious, and while the orange juice wasn't freshly squeezed, it was still really tasty. The French fries were outstanding -- Super crispy and flavorful, they honestly reminded me of The Hat's famous fries. I also treated myself to a Chocolate Cookie and a Vanilla Cupcake, and both were absolutely delicious. The desserts tasted homemade and added the perfect sweet touch to the meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our server was so kind and welcoming, offering helpful suggestions and even bringing us free ranch and mustard. The atmosphere is just as impressive because it makes or break if I come back or not. The restaurant is super clean, modern, and really nice. Plus, they bake their own fresh bread, which is always a huge plus in my book. Overall, Art Lunch is definitely a gem in Pasadena. Delicious food, amazing service, and a warm, inviting environment. First off, cappuccino. Sooooo delicious! I have never really thought about the temperature of my cappuccino before - but now that I know how it's supposed to be, I will remember. This was superb. We ordered the Prosciutto Crudo & Burrata (basil pesto, arugola, tomate, burrata, & Parma prosciutto) and Panino Con Polpette (beef meatballs in marinara sauce, Parmesan cheese, & bell pepper). The bread is perfection. The sauce was perfection. The cheese... you get where I'm going. Every bite made me happier than the last. But the panini's are so generous that i couldn't eat even half of one! I can't wait to go back for dinner. They make the pasta in-house. The entrees (and desserts) all look mouth-watering. If you see a handsome bald guy in the back, that's Peter, the owner. He is as friendly as the food is good. The restaurant is just east of old town Pasadena, across the street from Target.

She let me know she made the vanilla syrup herself. I was truly impressed! The next time I came back to order, she remembered that I loved the matcha! It's so sweet when you're remembered as a customer. I've also ordered the dalgona coffee (strong and fluffy), the breakfast sandwich, the egg salad sandwich, and the hibiscus milk tea. I love coming here for a breakfast or lunch pick me up. Having access to quick healthy meals for a good price is such a huge perk to working in the neighboring area. Also, this place wouldn't be called "cozy nook cafe" if the vibes in there weren't as cute and warm as they are. The lights are low, the music is relaxing and Irene is genuinely such a sweet person.

I tried the London fog and really enjoyed it. The customer service is very kind and prompt. Even though the space is located between the hotel and another corporate business, it gives off 90s coffee shop vibes with the music, local artist artwork, and dim lighting, which after a couple days in the fluorescent glare of conference talks, I really appreciated. A little bit tucked away, but what do you expect from a cozy nook? Let's support this local business!

I absolutely loved the Chicken Caesar Wrap with Spicy Calabrian Caesar Dressing. It was delicious,…read morefresh, and surprisingly filling, and the dressing had just the right amount of spice without overpowering the other flavors. Chef Kim's Magic Mineral Broth was also light, flavorful, and delightful. As a mushroom lover, I was especially excited to try the Shroom Shroom pizza, and I appreciated that it came generously topped with a variety of mushrooms and tasted very fresh. Unfortunately, the pizza was drenched in what seemed to be a rosemary-infused oil, which completely overpowered the other flavors and made it difficult for me to enjoy. I was particularly disappointed because the oil was not mentioned in the item description when ordering, and there did not appear to be an option to request the pizza without it. I think it would have been so much better without the additional oil. Despite that one disappointment, I really enjoyed the other dishes I tried and will definitely be returning to explore more of the menu!

Somehow everything came iut great tasting and would come back to try other dishes! For 5 people, we ordered and had perfect amoint of food: -free crisps with mediterranean seasoning (not sure what they're called), very tasty -Hamachi crudo - interesting but good texture, as they cure it with beet juice. Has a peruvian flavor to it with the sourness of the sauce, but also comes with olives? Like I said, interesting menu -peruvian chow mien with added steak - well cooked tender steak, noodles were nice and springy as well - pork chop - very well cooked and delicious -brussel sprouts and pork belly - pork belly pieces were very small, definitely more brussel sprouts, also tasty - side of Maduros, which are sweet fried plantains, but not too sweet as they can sometimes be All in all a great meal! The furniture is lovely and the lighting is fantastic. I think they went for a quasi-Victorian look here. Someone did some good work with the interior design. The coffee drinks were solid and the French toast was generous and very good. The garden bagel with a side salad was very fresh and kind of healthy, but for the cream cheese (and the bagel itself--I don't know why but all bagels are just jammed with a million calories). Solid coffeehouse. I would return. Hint: the couch at the front is the sweet spot, if you can nab it.

The pickled onions and salsas were good as well. Great value as well since we shared it and still ate too much. Makes places like Lucky Boy look bad... Nice room and although the guy at the register looked a bit grouchy he was cool and had the kitchen split our burrito & gave us an extra plate, too, so he was cool even if he looked kinda surly. This place really should have more people in it, maybe its location on Fair Oaks is kind of crummy b/c you have to park in one of the Old Town structures and walk over, I dunno. They also share the room (and I'm guessing kitchen) with another establishment called Tacos Neza, which is kind of confusing, since the sign hanging outside says Tacos Neza, while one of the windows has BGB painted on it. Worth seeking out.
