It's disappointing that, despite having recorded phone lines, the staff felt comfortable being rude. My first call was hung up on, and the second time I called, the employee sounded annoyed. I had an emergency and simply needed to cancel my appointment, yet she did not offered to reschedule. read more

Called in for a Estimate to replace a 30 year old HVAC system that has 2 units! After a two hour sales pitch! Salesman gave me a total of three quotes for different types of systems! The quotes were extremely high as compared to other quotes I received! 46k to 50k! They just wasted my time! I called another company with a similar unit for a total of 12k with a better warranty. All other quotes were much better than ARS.. ARS salesman James Duff said that was His best quote and stated to call the company to send a counter offer! I'm not here to play games with a company with these standards! Simply Unacceptable! Never calling or using this company! read more

ARS was called due to plumbing backup and minor flooding in utility room and kitchen. They came promptly and first two, Chris and Jon, were personable and helpful. Of course, it became a upselling opportunity...but that is unsurprising. We agreed to replacement and repair. The actual plumbing work was started and finished in a timely manner and seems to be working okay. Our problems are with the collateral damage...which, of course, they don't fix. They had to pull up turf and we were told they'd put it back. They did...over dirt that hadn't been leveled out...so now we have ridges and valleys and the turf is in pieces...instead of level turf. We also have one sprinkler head that will no longer stay down...is always up. We have broken tiles on our patio and the brickwork was very poorly done...with a mess of mortar left on the wall. They did come back and clean up a little...after we told them it wasn't finished until the mess was at least cleaned up some. No damage was addressed at all. Perhaps this is the way all companies who do this operate...but I won't be using this one again. read more

The technician came in and diagnosed the problem. We discussed options and then he looked for the cause to fix the whole problem.

Had 2 appointments for an AC tine up and both were cancelled after I cleared my scheduled and waited around the house for them to show up sometime in their 4 hour window. I will find a more reliable company to deal with that respects my time read more

Wednesday 10/30, I called them because my water heater was leaking which they installed back in March. To make a long story short the very late technician didn't find any leak in their installation & told me it may be the tank.. he wanted to uninstall it and reinstall it to find the leak for $1570- but he'd do it for a flat $1000. I declined opting to call Rheem instead...but later that night I heard dripping & noticed the ceiling was damp above the water heater & the vent connected to the water heater was leaking.. I called them back- 24/7 ?? Not for a technician! They sent a guy today.. he told me it was likely a pipe, couldn't quote me on how much it would cost but did tell me to cut he had to the sheetrock & it would be $89...and suggested I call my home warranty. I decided I'd call them. However, I changed my mind after speaking with them as they started in on cutting and removing thing that were not covered to gain access. Anyways, I call ARS back to go ahead & fix the issues. I spoke to Larry at the North branch, at 3:47 PM for someone to arrive by 6PM TODAY. Cool, I called into work today to get this mess done. I had to call back several times because closer it got I didn't receive a call. Finally I was transferred to dispatch & able to speak to them myself & found out all the times I called they told me they would check with dispatch they lied to me! Dispatch told me the appointment was scheduled but NO ONE was EVER assigned & all the technicians were gone for the day!!! WTF!! I was even told before speaking to him at 6:15 PM that the technician was running behind on a project & he has until 10 PM! AFTER speaking to dispatch I called trying to speak to Larry as he told me if I ran into problems to ask for him just to be told he was not available... 3 times when I called the person NEVER said a word to me but had the tv on real loud & was cussing & arguing with her boyfriend! I recorded it too . I feel like they treated me like this because they were getting pissed at my constant calls & having to send someone out again x3. I wasn't trying to be difficult, however, in just 6 months I've spent over $20,000 of my own money on repairs that had a "limited warranty" or something else needed to be as it was not "up to code" or " not covered" bill.. I'm tired & frustrated. even though The dispatch guy rescheduled me himself for this Saturday.. hmph! let's see!!! I called a different out of state number they have see if they would transfer me to Larry as I had 'questions ' for him, but even at this number I was sent back to the person arguing with her boyfriend! Finally when I someone answered me & a voiced my concern she said, " It must be a work from home person you were transferred to!" Oddly enough I didn't give her or the last person my name but they called me by it. So they have ID! Were they just antagonizing me the many other times I called knowing full well it was me! VERY Very Unprofessional! Wasting my ENTIRE day!! read more

I called this company to clear a clog in a toilet. They made an appointment & they arrived on time. The technician came in and ran a line down into the drain and said his supervisor ( Salesman ) would be there soon. He arrived and shoved a camera down the hole & said that I needed extensive repair. Just to clear the sewer line would be $9K, but to do the correct job would be $16K. He was high pressure to get me to approve the work. I did not approve the work and called a different plumber that came out the next day and did the complete job for $4K. I believe that these people pray upon your perceived ignorance in order to Price Gouge . Do Not Let Them Take Advantage Of You. read more

I used their plumbing services to clear a clogged line. They offered the use of a camera to scope and check the line. The tech told me that it was going to cost me thousands of dollars to fix a problem. He told me I had to get the line repaired as it was cracked. I furtanately told them it was something I had to consider. Fortunately, I wanted to get a second opinion from a different company. This company (FYI) informed me that the fault was with the city line and not mine. They told me this is something that ANY experienced technician would be able to clearly see as the city line has a distinct color. ARS wanted me to pay to repair a city issue and they did not have a second concern about charging me for work. I told the technician I am on disability and could not afford such a large bill. How can one person do that to another, with out the blink of an eye. There needs to be stronger laws against individuals and companies who rip off others. They have special places in hell for these people. It is a shame that companies have to stoop so low to just get business. I suggest that you do not trust them and for me I will NEVER use any of the service again. read more

We had a water leak in our middle bathroom shower faucet, so we called out ARS, and another independent handy man we've been using for years. ARS was the first to come out and let us know we also had a toilet leak ( which I had no idea about) so he gave us a quote of 575$ ( including 100$ off discount) to fix the shower leak and an additional 300$ to fix the toilet leak. We'll as he went out to his truck to get tools, our hand man called saying he's on his way as he just finished his first job, so we let the ARS guy know thank you for coming out- and we'll pay you for your time. The handy man quoted us 300$ total for the shower leak, checked our toilet, which he said there was no leak- did the work, and then left. Wow! read more

I had a water heater installed by these individual as a contractor to Lowes, the installation was done very well and in a timely manner. What has me writing a review with a low rating is the badging phones calls that ensued afterwards. They started calling me 2-3 a week from 8am up to 5pm asking about a turn up for my a/c or flushing of the water heater (they installed and is less than a year old). Numerous times I asked them respectfully to note on this account that I had a contract for quarterly inspection of my A/C system by the installer and that I would call them for the water heater flush when ready. They never noted this information or cared to read the file of their customers before calling. I was looking forward to using this group when it was time for water heater maintenance however, I seriously doubt I will now. read more

LaTonia Denice. I had them to come out in 2021 to install my out side unit, then again in 2023 to do my HVAC system. I've called them several time to come out because the outside unit was making a noise. Sunday 4/20 a Tech came out said I needed a new coil. Monday 04/21 another tech was dispatched out side the HVAC system had a leak. A Supervisor was supposed to come out on Tuesday no show no call. Spoke to the manager Rodney on 4/23 he said after review of the reports from Both the techs that came out my repair bill would be $1,800.00 I got a second opinion and what ARS said was wrong was not the issue, something was clogged to repair that issue cost me less then $400.00. The sales guys are all talk but the true heroes are the workers. The installers, the plumbers and the electricians are a gem. They are the true backbone of the company! If only they would get the recognition they deserved especially for the value of work they put in with the sweat from their hard work! I would give it a five but the sales guy lied and then the ladder contractor had attitude which I didn't appreciate one bit! Overall the value is a little under rated for me. read more

I highly Recommend ARS Ac/HVAC services to help give you peace of mind that your systems are working properly and efficiently. read more

ARS-Houston was called 4/10 after a storm regarding our A/C unit (they had been out in the past, that is the only reason they were called out again) on 4/11 Service Tech said unit was fried and needed to be replaced. ARS installed my unit in 2021 and I've had nothing but problems with this unit. Multiple visits per year and after this, i will be replacing this unit with a different company. My AC went out 7/24 due to a power surge from the thunderstorm in houston that night. ARS came out Saturday and said that mother boards were out d/t the power surge. Was told it would take 7 days to get the parts shipped. Living in Houston and having pets, I had to move into a hotel because it is 90+ inside my townhome. I was told on Wednesday (7/30) that the parts were in and they would be there on Friday to install. Sat at my house for two hours in 90+ temp before receiving a text stating my appointment has been changed to Mon, Aug. 4- no phone call to let me know. I called dispatch and after 2 different people, no one could figure out what was happening. Finally got a supervisor on the phone and stated the part would be in over the weekend and they would come on Mon. Aug.4, between 8-12. Get a text that the technician was on the way and then nothing for another hour. Finally get a call after waiting 2+ hours stating the parts were not in. So, I called the supervisor and was told they would call me back about where the part is- at this point I am extremely unhappy. Then I was sent a email with a THIRD reschedule date for Thurs, Aug. 7. How many reschedule dates until this turns into legal action is now where im at. I am currently paying $100/day to stay in a hotel for 10+ days. ALSO, I already paid $1600 for this upfront, so really what this is now is total fraud. If this was coming from China, it would have already been here, absolute insanity. They took my money and haven't provided a service and absolutely no one cares at this company. For a company this big, this is an absolute huge failure in customer service, communication and accountability. I will let everyone I know not to use them going forward. read more

Where do I start? Our a/c went out Thursday afternoon. I called ARS that afternoon, and they sent a tech out to diagnose the issue. Friday comes, i receive an email stating I have an appointment confirmed for Monday July 28, between 8 and noon. At 937 am that same morning, i get a text from the tech I'd seen the night before telling me they located a condenser and to call him (the tech) and they'll get it taken care of. I called to let them know I would really like to have it taken care of earlier than Monday, and I also stated that I have a special needs daughter, heat intolerant on O2 24/7. I get another email about an hour later saying someone would be here Saturday between 8 and noon. Understand I've been on the phone with them a lot, and they have extensive records of my calls. No tech in the time frame, I called and was assured a tech would be here soon. When the tech arrives, and we've been through all the paperwork, he calls customer care, i assume to get a good review. When she reiterates to service, she mentions the work would be done on Monday between 8 and noon. Not once in any of the conversations, emails or texts prior was it said the work would not be done until Monday. I assumed, probably foolishly, that given the circumstances that when the appointment was reset for Saturday, that the work was to be done then. In summation, I'd watch myself when dealing with them. Mind you, we've worked with them many times, and they have always been prompt, explained the issue and what the repairs would be and cost, and the work was at least begun THAT DAY ( the hvac system took two days to complete with the inspection). Hopefully you will not have as bad an experience as we're having. read more

Called for diagnostic on A/C condenser, tech came out for $100 and I asked if it was a bad capacitor. Tech said no it was a bad compressor and it would cost $16000 to repair. Called another tech who came out and found the capacitor was bad and fixed me up for a reasonable amount. read more

Well, I used ARS many times over the last several years, but I will not going forward. They created a leak in my attic that soaked the insulation and the ceiling in my family room. Many, many calls and seven weeks later, it was finally repaired. However, I left messages for service manager, Brian Jenkins, and never received a call back. A technician who helped us told me that he also told Brian and another service manager, William Eichenberg, that I wanted to speak with a manager. No one called me. All this tells me is that my business is not important enough to ARS. I would recommend taking your A/C business elsewhere. read more

I need to correct my earlier review. It turns out the repairs I'm currently making are on the same side that ARS supposedly fixed. This means I overpaid for an ineffective repair. I strongly recommend avoiding this overpriced and subpar plumbing company. read more

We had a reoccurring issue of our washing machine drain line backing up and putting water on the floor. ARS came out and cleaned the line and ran a camera through it. Turns out we had a large run where the line sagged and held water. We also wanted to know if we had a main sewer line clean out and if not, get one installed. The young man said we did have one and it was separated and buried. He told us they could fix the sag by running another line down the side of my house and tying it in to the main line behind my house, and it would take 2 or 3 days (it took a couple weeks) and replace the main line clean out. I told him that would put the line in my neighbor's yard since that side of my house is on the property line. He told me all we had to do is get my neighbor's permission...."they do this all the time". I got my neighbor's okay and they dug a trench down the side of my house and across my backyard and laid the pipe. When the city inspector came out he failed the job because Houston doesn't allow you to run a sewer line through your neighbor's yard. His supervisor said she'd talk to the city and get it straightened out since "they do this all the time". They regrouped and said they'd tunnel under my house and replace the sagging line that way, it would take 2 or 3 days (this took two more weeks). We had to keep calling them to finish the job, on several occasions when we asked about them finishing the job, the persons we talked to thought it had been completed. When they finally dug up our main line clean out, it was there but not separated, they replaced it anyway. They do not communicate well, they do not show up when they say they will, we will not be using them on any more jobs, big or small. read more
